Chapter 30

The rest of the day at the Marsh's was fairly uneventful. The adult hunters shared stories about Marvin's exploits while Stan and Randy recounted the antics he'd gotten into while living with them. Sharon woke around dinner time, she broke into tears after having the news broken to her. After having one last small meal together and sharing yet more stories of Grandpa Marsh, the Testaburgers and the McCormicks left to return to their respective homes. Jimbo and Ned stuck around a little longer to drink with Randy and Sharon on the back porch.

"Hey where'd Ike go?" Stan asked as he plopped down on the couch next to Kyle. They had the new Terrance and Phillip on, but weren't really paying attention to it.

"He decided to go with Kenny and Butters. I think he might be crushing on Karen a little bit." Kyle said laughing and grabbing some popcorn from the bowl in his lap. "Also he said something about not wanting to cramp his brother's style?" Stan choked on his drink at that and looked over at Kyle like a deer in the headlights.

"So we didn't really get to talk about that...with my dad and Jimbo trying to kill each other." Stan said sheepishly while keeping his eyes locked on Kyle's. He was fidgeting waiting for Kyle to say something. Kyle however was enjoying watching Stan squirm, he liked this side of him.

"It was good. I think it was exactly what we both needed." The redhead said finally. Stan visibly relaxed and smiled brightly, nearly blinding him.

"So are we...you know? Together?" Stan asked fidgeting again. Kyle arched an eyebrow at him, oh yes, he was going to enjoy tormenting this boy.

"No." Kyle said smoothly taking another bite of popcorn and watching Stan sputter and try to find the words. Kyle leaned over next to Stan's ear and whispered into it "Because you haven't asked me out yet." Stan pushed Kyle back out to a distance where he could look him in the eyes.

"Oh shit! Dude I'm sorry, I forgot. It's just that you're already my whole world, asking you to be my boyfriend seemed a given." Kyle melted at his words, and acknowledged that this boy would be a worthy opponent. "Kyle, will you be my boyfriend?"

"Yes Stan, I will be your boyfriend." Kyle said pecking him on the lips, he peaked over Stan's shoulder to see that the adults were still outside on the back porch. "Now, take me upstairs. I think we should get some more training in." Kyle said setting the bowl of popcorn on the side table and swinging his legs over Stan's while wrapping his arms around his neck.

"Why would we go upstairs...to train…" Stan said slowly and Kyle swore he could see a loading icon in his eyes. When he realized it he stood up holding Kyle bridal style. "Right! Training. Yes. Let's...do that!" He carried Kyle and himself as fast as he could up the stairs to his room for another enjoyable diversion.

The next day…

Stan and Kyle were tangled up in bed, their clothes strewn about the room from the night before. The second time went even better than the first, which Kyle was very pleased with. Made them both look forward to the next time even more. They were both barely awake when a knock came at the door.

"Boys? I made breakfast if you'd like some." Sharon said from the other side of the door. Neither boy was awake enough to respond quickly. She attempted to open the door but it was locked. There was a moment of silence before a small wave of magic fell over the door, unlocking it. Both boys nearly jumped out of their skin, since that was all they were wearing, when the door opened.

"MOM!" Stan yelled, making sure both he and Kyle were made decent by the blankets. Sharon looked half asleep and was slow to register what he was yelling about, until she saw two sets of clothes strewn about the room.

"Oh my!" She gasped as she slammed the door. "I'm so sorry boys! I won't do that again. Breakfast is downstairs when you're ready!" She shuffled away quickly.

"I'd rather fight a revenant bare handed than go down to breakfast now…" Stan said pinching his nose.

"Well you did that already, and I'm hungry, so let's go." Kyle said hopping out of bed and throwing some pants and a shirt on. Stan just lay in bed watching him dress, admiring the new muscles that were starting to show. He liked Kyle's softer edges, but he also didn't mind the idea of muscles either. As long as it was Kyle. "Come on loverboy, time to get dressed!" Kyle said throwing Stan's pants in his face.

"Yes sir!" Stan said, making a mock salute. Kyle arched an eyebrow and then bent down to whisper in Stan's ear again.

"Sir huh? Maybe I'll make you call me that tonight." Kyle breathed huskily before blowing gently on Stan's earlobe. Stan licked his lips in anticipation before looking down at the now raised covers.

"I'm going to need about ten minutes…to take care of this" He muttered sheepishly, pointing at his issue. Kyle pouted before strutting to the door and locking it once again.

"Ten bucks says I can take care of it in five." Kyle said mischievously. "There's something I've been wanting to try." Stan had an instant smile on his face.

"What do you want me to do?" He asked quickly coming to attention and standing up.

"Just sit back and enjoy." Kyle said pushing Stan back to a sitting position.

Just over five minutes later…

Stan and Kyle bounded down the stairs to the table for breakfast. They both were famished, having not really had a good meal in about two days now.

"I am so sorry about walking in on you boys...I should have just left the door be!" Sharon said giggling, she didn't seem very sorry. She probably was enjoying the idea that her son really was with Kyle now.

"So you and Kyle huh?" His dad said looking over his paper at his son.

"Uh yea dad...a couple times." Stan said trying to focus on his eggs.

"Nice." His dad said holding his fist out which Stan gave a quick dap with his own.

"Oh speaking of which, can I have ten bucks?" He asked his parents, his dad fished out a ten from his pocket and gave it to his son. Stan immediately passed it to Kyle who took it triumphantly and put it in his pocket. He had the skills.

At the McCormicks…

Ike and Karen were playing video games in the living room. Kenny and Butters were cleaning up from their own breakfast. Kenny was starting to get depressed, he only had a couple more hours till Karen's guardians came to pick her up. Butters had noticed.

"You know Ken, Karen has been touched by magic now. I know you wanted to keep her away from this life, and the strings attached. But that seems to be out of our control now." Butters said drying a now clean glass and setting it down on the counter.

"Yea I know, I failed to keep her safe." Kenny said his shoulders drooping.

"I didn't say that to make you feel bad, I said it so you could consider the possibilities." Butters replied watching his boyfriend to see if he would pick up what he was putting down.

"What possibilities?" Kenny asked scrunching up his face. Butters sighed, Kenny was always most oblivious about the things closest to him.

"There is no reason now for Karen not to live with us full time." Butters said quietly so the kids in the other room wouldn't hear.

"Do you think...could we really do that?" Kenny asked afraid the very idea of it might disappear if he thought about it too hard.

"Her and Ike are going to need training from hunters now, why not the ones here in south park? Besides her and Ike seem to be hitting it off." Butters said, waggling his eyebrows at the last part. Kenny cocked an eyebrow and looked out of the kitchen into the living room to see the two kids laughing together. He had to admit he liked the idea.

"We'll need to make some calls to the Denver HQ, we'll need a bigger monthly allotment with another mouth to feed, and we'll need to call off the guardians they've assigned…" He began rattling off all the necessary details while Butters just smiled and and continued drying dishes.

"Already done." The shorter blond said smiling widely. "I took care of all of that yesterday while you were talking with Karen about being a God." Kenny's mouth dropped open and he nearly lept at Butters to kiss him, causing the smaller blond to yelp playfully. Out in the living room Ike and Karen just looked at each other and turned the volume on the tv up a bit more.

At the Testaburgers...

Wendy and her mother were making breakfast again while her father was letting her know how his reattached arm was feeling. She wanted to make sure there weren't any issues, she hadn't been sure if she could still call enough power to even accomplish it with some of her Godhood sealed by Sharon.

"Mom, Dad, after breakfast could you teach me to shoot?" She asked unsure how they would react.

"Of course Pumpkin, though I don't know if you'll need it with the way you can use magic." Her father said sipping his coffee.

"Maybe not, but Marvin Marsh supposedly had fought on par with Gods, if the enemy we're against is that strong we need every edge we can get. No matter how small." Her parents looked at each other and nodded their agreement.

"We'll start as soon as we've cleaned up the kitchen then." Her mother said taking the large skillet of scrambled eggs off the burner. "But before that, time to eat up."

At the border of South Park…

A young man stood facing the town and tried with everything he had to a step into the territory. No matter what he did he could not move another millimeter closer to the town. He had tried just throwing magic at the town but he could not bring himself to conjure anything that would harm the town. He could not even command his Shells or Revenants that may still be active in the town. He was blocked, wholly and completely. He raged and the ground around him shook, though infuriatingly only the ground outside the town's now magical territory.

"Someone looks like they're having a bad day." Cartman smirked from inside the town's territory.

"You! You can still approach the town!" He spat, hating his annoying minion even more in this moment.

"Looks that way, yes." Cartman said snarkily while making a mocking surprised face.

"Bring me the head-" The violent young man started before being cut off.

"No." Cartman stated flatly. The young man was struck silent by the blatant defiance.

"YOU DARE!?" He screamed and attempted to rend Cartman into pieces with magic, but there was nothing. "Why would you help them?"

"I'm not helping them, I'm fucking you over. It's entirely different." Cartman said as he turned to walk away. He'd come back several times throughout the month to taunt and jeer at his tormentor. He would pay for it in a month's time, but he didn't care. It was simply too good an opportunity to pass up, and he may never be able to experience freedom again.

Back in Stan's room…

Stan and Kyle had returned to bed immediately after breakfast and slept some more. When they finally woke up in the middle of the afternoon they just decided to lay there and talk.

"Tomorrow we need to get back to training. I'll take back over your sparring training, I've got a few things I want to try after the battle the other night." Stan said while absentmindedly tracing circles on Kyle's back with one finger.

"I wish...I wish we could just be like this. Here, like this." Kyle sighed, not wanting to spend even a moment out of Stan's embrace. He hoped this feeling would never end.

"I know, I'm the same way. We shouldn't have to do this, we shouldn't have to fight…" Stan said, trailing off sadly.

"But we do. It has to be us, doesn't it?" Kyle said, he'd only had magic for a month and a half now but he already saw that it was a lifetime of struggle. But it also had its wonders, being able to do magic wasn't so bad. And because of the tension he and Stan had been under, they'd finally talked through their feelings and were now a couple. So far, Kyle couldn't really say he hated the hunter life. "And as long as it's us I'm ready to face anything."

"You amaze me every day, you know that?" Stan said, pulling Kyle close so he could spoon him. "And as long as we can have these moments together, fighting monsters occasionally ain't so bad, huh?"

"Not too bad at all." Kyle said, enjoying the feeling of Stan's arms around him. He loved the feeling of Stan's muscles against his skin. Judging by his father's stature Stan would probably be six feet tall before he stopped growing. Kyle liked the idea of a tall beefy Stan. He wondered what Stan thought of him, and suddenly was self-conscious.

"What's wrong?" Stan asked, feeling Kyle tense up.

"Stan...what things do you like about me? Physically." He asked shyly.

"Well, I like pretty much everything about you. Your hair, your freckles. The way your cheeks puff up when you're mad. I find your temper very sexy, in a terrifying sort of way. I love all the soft spots on your body. Your butt is amazing, and you have nice legs too. And how you fit perfectly against me." Stan said softly into Kyle's ear.

"Soft spots...so the parts of me that are kind of girly…" Kyle said sadly. Stan picked up what the issue was then.

"There is nothing girly about you dude. Soft isn't girly, and hard and rough isn't manly. That's a way too binary way of thinking of it. And I wasn't finished. I like your muscles, the bit of peach fuzz on your chin. You have a very distinct jaw line that is anything but feminine. I love how tough you are, that you're a secret badass. And recently I've found I like when you take the lead here when we're alone." Stan said to Kyle who had rolled over to look him in the eyes as he listed off all the things he liked about him.

"Do you really mean that...you won't lose interest as I grow older and as I build more muscle?" Kyle asked, genuinely worried about the answer. Sure, right now he was on the road to being a stereotypical twink, but with the training and hormones eventually he'd look more and more manly. It was Stan's turn to smirk mischievously.

"Sit up. It's your turn." Stan said, crawling off the bed and waiting for Kyle to present himself. "Ten bucks says I finish you in less than five." Kyle's eyes widened and he licked his lips. The challenge was on.
