63. Blue-Eyes VS Blue-Eyes

This is a pure Blue-Eyes Duel, so I hope you'll enjoy it. Let the dragon battle begin!

Chapter 63: Blue-Eyes VS. Blue-Eyes

"DUEL!" Kaiba and I yelled simultaneously after the MC commenced the event.

Kaiba: 4000 LP

Estelle: 4000 LP

I drew the top five cards of my Deck and got Dark Bribe, Polymerization, Galaxy Serpent, Dragon Spirit of White, and the Melody of Awakening Dragon. It wasn't the best hand, so I had to improvise when it was my turn.

"I'll go first! Draw!" Kaiba yelled, drawing his sixth card. "I play Pot of Greed, which allows me to draw two cards!"

The green pot with its disfigured face appeared on the field and seemed to laugh before it released a green aura that enveloped Kaiba. The senior Duelist drew two cards before the pot vanished into nothingness.

"I reveal Blue-Eyes White Dragon in my hand to Special summon Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon in attack mode!" Kaiba continued.

Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon, Level 8: ATK 3000

"Next, I summon Sage with Eyes of Blue in attack mode!"

Sage with Eyes of Blue, Level 1, Tuner: ATK 0

"Sage's effect! I can add a Level 1 LIGHT Tuner Monster from my Deck to hand. I choose the White Stone of Ancients! Now, I tune Level 1 Sage with Eyes of Blue with Level 8 Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon! Golden scales clad the dragon. Become a shield and protect your ally! Synchro summon! Arise, Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon!"

Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon, Level 9: ATK 2500

"Kaiba has summoned his first Synchro Monster ever! The living legend has quickly adapted to the new era of Duel Monsters!" the MC commented.

"I place two cards facedown and end my turn", Kaiba called. "Now… Show me your dragons, Estelle."

"If that is your wish, Kaiba. Draw!" I called, drawing my sixth card, which was Sage with Eyes of Blue. "I start my turn by playing the Melody of Awakening Dragon! I send one card from my hand to the Graveyard to add up to two dragon Monsters from my Deck with 3000 or more attack points and 2500 or less defense points. I add one Blue-Eyes White Dragon and one Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon to my hand!"

I sent Dragon Spirit of White to the Graveyard while my Duel Disk shuffled my Deck for three seconds. Once it was done, it ejected the top two cards. I grabbed them and verified them before showing to Kaiba that they were the cards I had declared.

"I reveal Blue-Eyes White Dragon in my hand to Special summon Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon in attack mode!"

Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon, Level 8: ATK 3000

"Blue-Eyes Alternative's effect! I target your Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon to destroy it!"

"I activate Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon's effect!" Kaiba countered. "I Tribute it to Special summon a LIGHT dragon-type Synchro Monster from my Extra Deck in defense mode, but it is destroyed during the End Phase of this turn! I Special summon Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon!"

Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon dissipated itself into golden dust that switched into silver colors and shapeshifted into the other Synchro form of Blue-Eyes White Dragon. Since it was in defense mode, it used its wings to shield itself.

Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon, Level 9: DEF 3000

"Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon's effect!" Kaiba continued. "When this card is Special summoned, neither player can target nor destroy dragon Monsters I currently control with card effects until the end of the next turn, meaning Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon's destruction effect is negated!"

"Okay", I nodded. "I now summon Sage with Eyes of Blue in attack mode!"

Sage with Eyes of Blue, Level 1, Tuner: ATK 0

"Sage's effect! I can add a Level 1 LIGHT Tuner Monster from my Deck to hand. I choose the White Stone of Ancients!"

Kaiba snorted loudly, but it sounded like it was by amusement. "You certainly must love Blue-Eyes White Dragons so much that you're copying me."

"This is a pure coincidence, Kaiba", I chuckled. "But for the fun, I tune Level 1 Sage with Eyes of Blue with Level 8 Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon. Golden scales clad the dragon. Become a shield and protect your ally! Synchro summon! Arise, Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon!"

Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon, Level 9: DEF 3000

"I think Kaiba has found his match! Estelle practically played the same way he did, except she Synchro summoned Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon in defense mode!"

"I place one card facedown and end my turn", I called while setting Dark Bribe.

"My turn. Draw!" Kaiba shouted. "I reveal Blue-Eyes White Dragon in my hand to Special summon my second Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon in attack mode!"

Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon, Level 8: ATK 3000

"I activate Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon's effect!" I shouted. "I Tribute it to Special summon my very own Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon from my Extra Deck in defense mode!"

Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon, Level 9: DEF 3000

"Azure-Eyes' effect! It cannot be targeted nor destroyed by either player's card effects until the end of the next turn!"

"I suspected you were going to bring out Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon", Kaiba nodded. "I summon the White Stone of Ancients in defense mode!"

The White Stone of Ancients, Level 1, Tuner: DEF 500

"With that, I end my turn and my Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon's defensive effect is over."

I couldn't help but raise an eyebrow. I thought he was going to Synchro summon a new Level 9 Monster, but he didn't do that. Why was that? Could it be he wasn't fond of the Synchro summoning yet?

In the end, it was his choice what to use and summon with the cards in his Deck.

"My turn. Draw!" I yelled, drawing Breakthrough Skill. "Azure-Eyes' effect! During my Standby Phase, I can Special summon one Normal Monster from my Graveyard! Since Dragon Spirit of White is treated as a Normal Monster while in the Graveyard, I can Special summon it in attack mode!"

Azure-Eyes roared to the sky before a gate opened above it, allowing the white dragon to fly out to the field after resting in the Graveyard.

Dragon Spirit of White, Level 8: ATK 2500

"Dragon Spirit of White's effect! When it's Normal or Special summoned, I can target one Spell or Trap card on my opponent's field and banish it!" I continued as I eyed Kaiba's two facedown cards. "I pick…the card in the middle!"

Dragon Spirit of White flew towards the chosen facedown card and started flapping its wings to create a whirlwind. Kaiba shielded his face from the wind while his facedown card flipped up, revealing Widespread Ruin, before the card got caught in the wind and was swallowed by a wormhole.

"I activate Dragon Spirit of White's second effect! Since you are controlling Monsters, Kaiba, I can Tribute it to Special summon Blue-Eyes White Dragon from my hand!"

Dragon Spirit of White roared as its body glowed in a bright crystal blue color before it shapeshifted into the mythical dragon itself.

Blue-Eyes White Dragon, Level 8: ATK 3000

"Ladies and gentlemen, one of the mythical Duel Monsters is on the field and it's Blue-Eyes White Dragon!"

The audience started cheering by the sight of the dragon. It felt a little awkward that I was the one to summon the original dragon first instead of Kaiba. I thought he was going to give me one of his dead glares that he was famous about, but he didn't even grimace at the sight of Blue-Eyes White Dragon.

I decided to continue with my turn. "I summon the White Stone of Ancients in defense mode!"

The White Stone of Ancients, Level 1, Tuner: DEF 500

"Kaiba, let me show you the wonder and power of the Synchro Monsters!" I called. "I tune Level 1 White Stone of Ancients with Level 8 Blue-Eyes White Dragon! Boulders of the mountain, hear my call! Break the seal and rise from the depth of the ocean! Synchro summon! Arise, Giganticastle!"

Giganticastle, Level 9: ATK 2900

Giganticastle was bigger than any of the dragons that were on the field. It kinda reminded me of the golem in the video game "Rune Factory Oceans" I played back in my world, except the Synchro Monster was way smaller than that golem so it fit on the battleground.

"This Synchro Monster was the first card I ever got, Kaiba, so it holds a special place in my heart", I explained. "It could work together with your Blue-Eyes White Dragons too."

Kaiba stared at Giganticastle with an analyzing glance in his eyes. "I'm not convinced yet, so prove it to me, woman."

"Certainly", I smirked, accepting the challenge. "Giganticastle's effect! When it's Synchro summoned, it gains 200 attack and defense points for each non-Tuner Synchro Material used! There was only one, so it's only 200 points!"

Giganticastle, Level 9: ATK 2900 – ATK 3100

"But that's enough to destroy your powerful dragons!" I added. "I switch my Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon to attack mode!"

Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon, Level 9: DEF 3000 – ATK 2500

"It's time to battle! Giganticastle, attack Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon!"

Giganticastle punched its fists against each other, creating a large noise, before it rumbled and aimed its right fist at Kaiba's dragon.

"I activate my Trap; Sakuretsu Armor!" Kaiba yelled. "It destroys my opponent's attacking Monster!"

"I chain with my Trap; Dark Bribe!" I counteracted. "It negates your Trap's activation and allows you to draw one card! The attack will go through!"

Kaiba growled softly as his flipped Trap card sparkled, a sign that the effect was negated, before it was destroyed. He drew a card as compensation as Giganticastle punched Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon into pieces.

Kaiba: 4000 LP – 3900 LP

Estelle: 4000 LP

"And the first points of damage have been inflicted! It's none other than Kaiba who got the first punch to his Life Points!"

"Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon, attack the White Stone of Ancients!"

I knew it may be a little reckless, but what if Kaiba had other Synchro Monsters in his Extra Deck, but he was waiting for the perfect moment to strike? Then it was best to get rid of it.

Azure-Eyes collected energy in its mouth before it fired a silver beam at the white stone. It exploded into millions of pieces, but some of them remained on the field and looked like white gravel.

"I place one card facedown and I'll go straight to the End Phase", I called as I set Breakthrough Skill. "I activate my White Stone of Ancients' effect in the Graveyard! Since it's been sent there this turn, I can Special summon one Blue-Eyes Monster from the Deck! I Special summon Blue-Eyes Abyss Dragon in defense mode!"

Blue-Eyes Abyss Dragon, Level 8: DEF 2500

"Blue-Eyes Abyss Dragon's effect! When it's Special summoned and I have a Blue-Eyes White Dragon in my Graveyard, thanks to the successful summoning of Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon, I can add one Polymerization or a Ritual Spell card from my Deck to hand. I choose Chaos Form! And Abyss Dragon's second effect activates! During the End Phase, I can add one Level 8 Blue-Eyes Monster from my Deck to hand. I choose Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon! And my Azure-Eyes' defensive effect is over."

"I shall follow your footstep now and activate my White Stone of Ancients' effect in the Graveyard!" Kaiba shouted. "It was sent to the Graveyard this turn, so I Special summon my pride and my soul, my Blue-Eyes White Dragon, from my Deck in attack mode!"

Blue-Eyes White Dragon, Level 8: ATK 3000

"I feel like I'm watching a parent-and-child Duel right now! They both are neck to neck with their Blue-Eyes! Anyone could come out as the winner, so stay tune, everyone, and keep watching!"

XXXXXXXXXX – Kaiba's POV

I had to admit I was enjoying this Duel, even though I wasn't very much fond of the new Synchro Monsters. It may be because I grew up in an era when Fusion Monsters were considered the strongest Monsters in the Extra Deck, but the world had been moving forward since I fell into a coma after I went to the afterlife and challenged Pharaoh Atem to a Duel.

I softly shook my head to get rid of the memories and concentrate on the present. "Draw!" I called as I drew Deep-Eyes White Dragon.

It was perfect for a backup plan.

"I summon Master with Eyes of Blue in defense mode!"

Master with Eyes of Blue, Level 1, Tuner: DEF 1200

"Master with Eyes of Blue's effect! When he's Normal summoned, I can add one Level 1 LIGHT Tuner Monster from my Graveyard to my hand! I choose Sage with Eyes of Blue and I activate his effect in my hand! I send it to the Graveyard along with an Effect Monster from the field to Special summon one Blue-Eyes Monster from my Deck! I send Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon to the Graveyard and I Special summon Blue-Eyes Abyss Dragon from my Deck in defense mode!"

Sage's transparent body appeared on the field and aimed his wand at Azure-Eyes. He fired a neon blue beam at the dragon and absorbed it into the wand before aiming it in the air. His body started glowing along with the wand before he transformed into a gate. Blue-Eyes Abyss Dragon flew out from it and landed onto the ground with a shriek.

Blue-Eyes Abyss Dragon, Level 8: DEF 2500

"I activate my Trap; Breakthrough Skill!" Estelle called. "The Trap card negates your Monster's effect for the rest of this turn!"

"What?!" I exclaimed in disbelief.

A dragon paw made of energy came out from the Trap card and slapped Blue-Eyes Abyss Dragon on the head, forcing it to cancel its effect that I was about to activate. I gritted my teeth in frustration. My second backup plan failed this time, but I wasn't going to give up.

"You may have canceled my dragon's effect, but I still have my Blue-Eyes White Dragon!" I shouted. "Battle! Blue-Eyes White Dragon, attack Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon with White Lightning!"

Blue-Eyes White Dragon screeched before it fired its signature move at the Synchro Monster. Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon was engulfed by the White Lightning before it shattered into pieces, now making things even with the Life Points.

Kaiba: 3900 LP

Estelle: 4000 LP – 3500 LP

"Ow! Estelle's got her first inflicted damage to her Life Points! Not very much, but still enough to put Kaiba on the lead!"

I was to at least make sure she couldn't Special summon any Normal Monsters from her Graveyard, like that Dragon Spirit of White that could banish my Spell and Trap cards. That dragon could mess things up if it came down to the worst.

"I place one card facedown and end my turn", I called while setting Counter Gate.

The current cards I had in my hand were my second Blue-Eyes White Dragon, Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon, and Deep-Eyes White Dragon. If it hadn't been for Estelle's Trap card, I could've had a massive advantage by now.

"My turn. Draw!" Estelle yelled.

I could tell by her facial expression that she was thinking deeply about her next move. She could Ritual summon her Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon and get a huge advantage or even win the Duel. I had my Trap card ready if she was ever going for a direct attack after she removed my Monsters from the field.

"I summon Galaxy Serpent in attack mode!" she called after a moment of silence.

Galaxy Serpent, Level 2, Tuner: ATK 1000

"I tune Level 2 Galaxy Serpent with Level 9 Giganticastle! A million suns are never enough to outshine the brightest star of the universe! Synchro summon! Arise, the Emperor of the Stars, Star Eater!"

Star Eater, Level 11: ATK 3200

I have seen Estelle's ace Monster in the video of the Fortune Cup, but seeing it with my own eyes was actually a little terrifying. Its aura resembled the Duel Monster that Yugi used to defeat me in our very first Duel when we were high schoolers; Exodia, the Forbidden One.

"Estelle's ace Synchro Monster, Star Eater, has entered the field! Could this be a sign of her victory?!"

"I'm not done yet", Estelle said. "I now play Chaos Form!"

A summoning circle appeared in the middle of the field that sparkled with electricity. Her Blue-Eyes Abyss Dragon flew to the field and landed inside the circle. It let out another roar as the electricity traveled up its body and transformed it into particles that flew around like a tornado.

"I Tribute Blue-Eyes Abyss Dragon for the Ritual summoning! When the world is in chaos, the dragon once pure but now consumed in darkness shall come forth to break the shackles of death! Ritual summon! Descend, Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon!"

The ritual circle sparkled among with the particles of the Blue-Eyes before a lightning struck the ground from the sky. A loud echo of gasp filled the air as the Ritual Monster raised up from the summoning circle. It released a shriek that sounded like the thunder as it flew up and landed in front of Estelle.

Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon, Level 8: ATK 4000

"This is the powerful Blue-Eyes Ritual Monsters that exists! And according to the information we have about this Monster is that when it attacks a defense position Monster, it will inflict double piercing damage to its opponent!"

"It's time to battle!" Estelle shouted. "Star Eater, attack Blue-Eyes White Dragon with Starlight Breaker!"

The star of the dragon beat like a heart while the Synchro Monster opened its mouth and collected energy for the attack. The star increased the beating before Star Eater fired a red and yellow energy beam that mixed together into orange. My Blue-Eyes White Dragon was struck on its chest and left a hole before it exploded into pieces.

Kaiba: 3900 LP – 3700 LP

Estelle: 3500 LP

"Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon, attack Blue-Eyes Abyss Dragon with Blue Light Thunder!" Estelle continued.

Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon roared as thick thunder clouds covered the sky above us. Lightning crackled among them as the dragon charged itself with the energy from Mother Nature. Its body glowed before it discharged the energy and fired a thunder at Blue-Eyes Abyss Dragon. It screeched in pain as it got electrocuted and exploded into a cloud of smoke. I grunted as I sensed the effect of Solid Vision causing damage to my Life Points.

Kaiba: 3700 LP – 700 LP

Estelle: 3500 LP

"Whoa! Kaiba's down to below 1000 Life Points! Is it possible for him to turn the Duel around or is it too late? Will the next generation defeat the original Blue-Eyes Master?!"

There was a possibility that I could lose the Duel, but I wasn't going to give up just yet.

"Main Phase 2!" Estelle called. "I activate Blue-Eyes Abyss Dragon's effect in my Graveyard! I banish it to give all the Level 8 and higher dragon Monsters I control 1000 attack points!"

The transparent figure of Blue-Eyes Abyss Dragon appeared above Estelle's dragons, flying like an angel praying, before it dissipated into light blue particles. The particles rained upon Star Eater and Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon, causing their bodies to glow in blue for a second before their attack points were increased.

Star Eater, Level 11: ATK 3200 – ATK 4200

Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon, Level 8: ATK 4000 – ATK 5000

"I place one card facedown and end my turn", Estelle finished her turn.

XXXXXXXXXX – Normal POV

"What?! Why did Estelle increase her dragons' attack points after she attacked Kaiba?!" Leo exclaimed in disbelief while dropping a handful of popcorn onto his lap.

"Yeah, she could've won!" Crow added.

"I think she's trying to give Kaiba one last chance to counterattack", Yusei suggested.

"That sounds like something she would do", Aki smiled.

"She should never be softhearted in a Duel, even against a living legend Duelist", Jack glared in disappointment while crossing his arms. "In fact, no Duelist should ever hold back in a Duel!"

"But still… It is nice to give the opponent a chance to make a comeback if they have a bad hand", Luna spoke softly.

"You've got a point, Luna", Yusei nodded. "But that could be outside of an official Duel."

"How many of you bet that Kaiba can win this?" Crow asked.

"I don't think so", Aki shook her head.

"Estelle's gonna win this!" Leo said determinedly.

"Yeah", Luna nodded in agreement.

"Something in my gut tells me that Kaiba has a backup plan in his hand", Jack snorted.

"I actually agree with you, Jack", Yusei nodded. "Kaiba doesn't show any signs of discomfort or defeat. He might be good at hiding his emotions…or he has something that will defeat Estelle."

XXXXXXXXXX – Kaiba's POV

Estelle sincerely could have defeated me on her turn, but she chose to spare me instead? She intentionally gave me time to try fighting back before she could finish me? What naïve thoughts. A true Duelist should never hold back!

It was a different case for me because I had a plan to strike back, but everything depended on the next card I was about to draw. My next thought gave me a slight nauseous taste in my mouth, but I now had to believe in the heart of the cards, just like Yugi and his grandfather told me years ago.

Why was I thinking about such nonsense anyway? Was I afraid by the fact that I could lose? No, that's ridiculous! If I lose, I should take it with pride and learn from my mistakes for the next Duel.

"My turn. Draw!" I yelled, drawing my next card.

I checked the card and felt the right corner of my lips twitch upward.

This Duel was over!

"I play Monster Reborn! I Special summon my Blue-Eyes Abyss Dragon from the Graveyard!" I declared.

Blue-Eyes Abyss Dragon, Level 8: ATK 2500

"Blue-Eyes Abyss Dragon's effect! When it's Special summoned, I can add either one Polymerization or a Ritual Spell card from Deck to hand! I add my own Chaos Form to hand and I play it immediately!"

The same summoning circle that appeared when Estelle Ritual summoned showed up on the field with blue electricity sparkling. My Blue-Eyes Abyss Dragon landed in the middle of it and transformed into a tornado of blue particles.

"I Tribute Blue-Eyes Abyss Dragon for the Ritual summoning! When the world is in chaos, the dragon once pure but now consumed in darkness shall come forth to break the shackles of death! Ritual summon! Descend, Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon!"

A lightning bolt struck the middle of the tornado before the Blue-Eyes Ritual Monster raised up from the summoning circle with a thundering roar. It landed in front of me and growled at Estelle's Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon that growled and barred its teeth in return.

Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon, Level 8: ATK 4000

"Now Kaiba himself has Ritual summoned the same Blue-Eyes Monster that Estelle has summoned! Does this mean he plans to have a Ritual Monster clash? But his Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon doesn't have enough attack points to destroy any of Estelle's Monsters!"

"I activate my Blue-Eyes Abyss Dragon's effect in the Graveyard! I banish it to give Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon 1000 attack points!"

Blue-Eyes Abyss Dragon's transparent figure appeared above my Ritual Monster and showered it with light blue energy in shape of particles. It dissipated shortly after it was done with its task of giving Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon a boost-up.

Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon, Level 8: ATK 4000 – ATK 5000

"Whoa! Kaiba increased his Ritual Blue-Eyes Monster's attack points! The question is; which Monster is he going to order it to attack?"

"I won't allow you to have any more Blue-Eyes on your field, Estelle! I'll destroy both our Blue-Eyes! Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon, attack Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon!"

"WHAT?! He intentionally attacks Estelle's Ritual Monster, knowing this battle will destroy his own?!"

The two Ritual dragons screeched at one another before they ran toward each other. They grabbed their clawed paws and fought to push each other back. Lightning was discharged from their bodies and struck the ground around them, making it look like an actual battlefield from a monster movie.

"I won't let you destroy my Blue-Eyes, Kaiba!" Estelle yelled through the commotion. "I activate my Trap; Impenetrable Attack! It allows me to either protect my Monster from being destroyed by battle and card effects or I won't receive any battle damage during this Battle Phase! I choose to protect Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon from being destroyed!"

Her Ritual Blue-Eyes' body was swiftly enveloped by a rainbow-colored aura that protected it from getting destroyed as it slowly opened its mouth that was sparkling in blue colors. It fired a blue beam of thunder straight at my Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon's face and forced it back. Thunder clouds covered the sky above us with lightning crackling among them before a thick lightning bolt struck and engulfed my Monster. It screeched in pain before it exploded into million pieces.

"Oh no! Kaiba practically wasted his Ritual summoned Monster with this attack! Could this be it for him?! Is the next generation going to defeat the living legend?!"

Estelle's Blue-Eyes Monster roared victoriously for defeating my Blue-Eyes, but it didn't know it had just helped me winning the Duel.

"I activate Deep-Eyes White Dragon's effect in my hand!" I shouted. "Since I successfully Special summoned Deep-Eyes White Dragon by its own effect, I can now inflict 600 points effect damage to you for each dragon-type Monster with different names in my Graveyard! I have Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon, Blue-Eyes Spirit Dragon, the White Stone of Ancients, Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon, Blue-Eyes White Dragon, and Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon in my Graveyard! That's six, so you take 3600 points of effect damage!"

"What?!" Estelle exclaimed in surprise.

"You fought well, Estelle, but no one can ever defeat the original Blue-Eyes Master!" I yelled. "Deep-Eyes White Dragon, use White Shining Flash!"

Deep-Eyes White Dragon screeched before it released a bright light from its body, engulfing the whole battlefield, including myself, Star Eater, and Estelle.

It was over. I had to admit Estelle fought well as a Blue-Eyes Duelist, but the Duel was meant to be mine from the very beginning.

XXXXXXXXXX – Normal POV

The light created by Deep-Eyes White Dragon was so strong it almost blinded the audience. Everyone in the stadium had to look away to not hurt their eyes as they waited for the light to vanish. Once they sensed the light was gone, they opened their eyes and looked at the Duel field. Everyone saw Kaiba and his Monster on the field, and Estelle was down on one knee while Star Eater flew above her with a lowered neck, admitting submission.

Leo glanced at the scoreboard and let out a loud gasp before pointing at it. "Guys, look!"

The others turned their eyes at the board and saw the two Duelists' Life Points.

Kaiba: 700 LP

Estelle: 3500 LP – 0 LP

"Estelle lost?!" Luna exclaimed in disbelief.

"She should've defeated Kaiba on her last turn if she had used her Blue-Eyes Abyss Dragon before that Battle Phase!" Crow exclaimed irritably.

"This must've caught her off guard with Kaiba's final trump card", Aki commented.

"That explains why Kaiba never looked disoriented. He knew he could win since a few turns back", Yusei said. "And in order to do so, without losing any more Life Points, he sacrificed Blue-Eyes Abyss Dragon to increase his Ritual Monster's attack points to get it rid from the field by attacking Estelle's Ritual Monster and then summon Deep-Eyes White Dragon and defeat her with enough amount of effect damage."

"But he could've sent his Blue-Eyes Chaos MAX Dragon to the Graveyard if he had attacked Star Eater without the boost", Aki pointed out. "He still would've had 500 Life Points left."

"No. That's not his style", Jack spoke up with an evil smirk. "He loves power, maybe just as much as I do. If he wants to battle it out, it's with power. I'd love to challenge him to a Duel and show him the true strength of my Red Dragon Archfiend!"

"A-Amazing! It appeared Kaiba was going to lose due to his very little remaining Life Points, but he made a vigorous comeback and took down Estelle without blinking! The winner of the Duel is Kaiba Seto!"

The stadium exploded into loud cheers as Kaiba raised his right arm up and clenched his hand into a fist. He then turned his eyes on Estelle as she got up on both knees and let out a deep sigh of exhaustion. Star Eater bent his neck down and gently rubbed her with the tip of his beak. The young woman giggled at her dragon before she caressed its muzzle in return with a tired smile.

Kaiba raised a confused eyebrow. He knew Solid Vision was just holographs, so how could she touch the dragon? Unless she was a psychic Duelist, like the big case around Sayer and the Arcadia Movement he had read about.

Still, the CEO was impressed by the young Duelist. He could tell she had potential to reach the big league if she kept practicing.

XXXXXXXXXX – Estelle's POV

I was exhausted by the Duel. The bright light from Deep-Eyes White Dragon had forced me down on one knee. Once the light had vanished, I took a deep breath and sighed by exhaustion. The cheers echoed around me, so I knew Kaiba had won.

I didn't expect Kaiba to have a trump card in his hand, especially with Deep-Eyes White Dragon. I had almost forgotten about it because I didn't have one in my Deck.

I pushed myself up on both feet as Star Eater gently touched my back with his beak. I couldn't help but giggle and patted him in return before I deactivated my Duel Disk. Despite the loss, I wasn't feeling bitter. In fact, I felt happy and honored to have Dueled Kaiba. That was something I could check off my bucket list.

I saw Kaiba walk across the Duel field, so I walked toward him and met him in the middle of the field. We looked at each other for a brief moment before the CEO spoke up.

"You had me in a corner a couple of times", Kaiba began. "I'm impressed by your skills."

"I just kept improvising with the cards I had to get some advantage", I responded with a soft smile.

It was only for less than a second and I blinked my eyes, but I swore I saw a tiny smile on Kaiba's lips.

He held up his right hand for a handshake. "It was a pleasure Dueling you. Thank you."

I giggled softly before I shook hands with him. "It was an honor Dueling you too, Kaiba. I hope we get to Duel again someday."

"I look forward to that day", Kaiba nodded in agreement.

The crowd cheered louder than before as we shook hands. We let go before turning to the audience and waved to them.

This was a memory I never wanted to forget. I was going to carry it in my heart for the rest of my life.
