It's time for the Grand Prix to begin! I rewrote the majority of the entire Turbo Duel, but there will be a few familiar scenes. Enjoy!

Special thanks to FlowersHeart17 for helping me out with this chapter!

The chapter begins in Yusei's point of view.

Chapter 79: VS. Team Unicorn – Jack

Jack and Carly showed up in our VIP room minutes after the exhibition Duel came to an end. The television was still on, showing MC who told everyone that they were going to take a twenty-minute break to remove Kaiba and Henri's Duel Runners and clean up the course before it was time for my team's Turbo Duel with Team Unicorn.

The whole room was filled with a thick nervous aura from everyone. Luna was rocking herself on her soft chair while Leo comforting her by wrapping an arm around her shoulders. Bruno sat on the couch with intertwined fingers in front on his lap while one of his legs was ticking back and forth in rapid rhythm along with Carly. Jack was leaning back against the wall with his arms crossed and eyes closed.

I sat by the table across from Crow, who had both a nervous and guilty expression, while resting my intertwined hands on it, trying not to give into the urge to pace around in the room. I kept checking the clock every minute that ticked by. Where was Estelle?

XXXXXXXXXX – Estelle's POV

I was on the top floor of Ivory Tower where I had watched the exhibition Duel between Seto and Henri with Goodwin, Ish, Mokuba, Yugi, and Anzu. Yep, I was in the stadium and in the tower because I wanted to mentally prepare myself while watching the Turbo Duel.

The twenty-minute break was partially for the maintainers to check the course, but also give me time to change into my riding suit and join Team 5D's before it was time to Duel Team Unicorn.

I knew I had been cold and distant towards my friends after Crow's outrage, but I've gotten over it by now. I wasn't that upset anymore. However, I knew I needed to talk about this issue with the others after the Turbo Duel match.

I got up from my seat on the couch and walked to a chair where I had placed my sports bag that contained my riding suit, gear, and helmet. "I'm going now", I told the others.

"Good luck, Estelle", Ish called.

"Don't let Seto down with your Blue-Eyes Deck", Mokuba said sarcastically. "Otherwise, he'll lecture you."

"Well, I don't want that to happen", I commented.

I entered the elevator with the help by the bodyguards. It took less than a minute to reach the ground floor, so as soon as the elevator opened I ran out to hurry to the female changing room.

There was no way I was going to abandon my friends. I'm not a quitter! I am a warrior!

XXXXXXXXXX – Yusei's POV

A knock on the door snapped us all out of our trance. We turned to the door just as it opened to reveal a staff member of the stadium.

"Team 5D's, get ready to assemble", the male staff member informed us.

My shoulders sank in defeat. It wasn't Estelle, but time was now running out. Jack and I grabbed our helmets before walking out of the VIP room, followed by Bruno, Crow, Carly, Leo, and Luna.

We followed the staff to a corridor leading to the pit, but we stumbled upon Team Unicorn by the fork. The trio was carrying their helmets, just like us, waiting for the signal to walk out to the pit.

"Hi, guys!" Breo waved casually.

"Hey…", Crow waved back with his good arm.

"What happened to you, Crow?" Breo asked in surprise at the sight of his cast.

"I got hurt in an accident couple of days ago", Crow shrugged his good shoulder.

"Oh no… I'm sorry to hear that", Breo said sadly. "Does that mean you won't Turbo Duel?"

"You guessed that right."

"So where's your backup Duelist?" Andre asked while looking around. "She's supposed to take Crow's place, right?"

Jack and I exchanged a glance before turning to Team Unicorn. "Estelle…might not make it."

Crow turned away with a guilty expression. "And it's my fault…"

"You team's already falling apart before the preliminaries?" Jean said before snorting amusingly. "As expected from a team like yours."

"Excuse me?" Carly spoke up in surprise.

"Jean, stop it!" Andre warned his teammate. "That was extremely rude of you."

"I'm just telling the truth", Jean shrugged. "A Duelist who doesn't show up for a match has no honor."

"Take that back, Jean!" a familiar voice called.

I snapped my head up and turned around to see the running figure of Estelle. She was dressed in her riding suit and carried her helmet under her left arm.

"Estelle!" the twins exclaimed in joy.

"You did show up!" Bruno smiled widely.

Estelle slowed down as she approached us. The twins didn't hesitate to wrap their arms around her waist, giving her a tight hug.

"I'm sorry for making you worry", Estelle smiled softly while patting Luna's head.

"It's okay! You're here now!" Leo smiled.

"Looks like everyone's ready", Breo smiled.

"I take it back; you still have some honor, dragon lady", Jean shrugged. "I think it's about time to head out to the pit. See you out there."

With that said, Team Unicorn left to gather by the gate where they were supposed to walk out in less than two minutes.

Estelle sighed again and turned to us with a slight guilty expression. "I'm sorry I got here so late, guys."

"It's okay", Carly shook her head. "I knew you were going to show up. There's no way you would give up on your team!"

Estelle nodded in return. "Of course. It's my duty to be there for you guys."

"Umm… Estelle", Crow began. "I want to tell you-"

Estelle quickly raised a hand up to stop him from talking. "We'll have time to talk after the Turbo Duel. But all I can say now is I'm no longer upset."

"Oh… Okay", Crow nodded before grinning softly. "I'm really glad to hear that."

"Team 5D's, it's time to head out!" a staff member called.

I looked at both Jack and Estelle. "Let's go."

"Yes!" they nodded simultaneously.

XXXXXXXXXX – Jack's POV

We entered the pit and did the formalities with Team Unicorn while the MC did the long introduction. Once it was done, Bruno immediately went to the control panel of our booth where he and the others were going to keep looking for data of the Duel Runners.

Leo and Luna snuck around to get some inside information from Team Unicorn and soon returned with their report.

"Andre is the other side's first", Leo informed us.

"Yusei is the first here, right?" Luna wondered.

"No, the first one is Jack", Yusei replied. "The second is Estelle, and I'm the last."

"Yusei isn't the first?" Luna mumbled in surprise.

"I thought that you would try to settle what happened during that practice", Leo said.

"This is all part of our plan", I told the twins while Carly held my helmet.

"The only Deck that has the power to match Andre's Deck is Jack's", Bruno explained.

I snorted loudly. "That level of Power Deck… I'll tear it apart with my Red Dragon Archfiend!"

"Just don't get too absorbed into only using Red Dragon Archfiend, Jack", Estelle reminded me. "You guys are also using cards from Goodwin's collection, so don't forget about them."

"Same to you, Estelle", I retorted.

"Okay, you can roll out your Runner, Jack", Bruno said.

I took my helmet from Carly and got onto my Runner before rolling it onto the course. Andre did the same with his Runner and parked a couple of meters behind me. Both his team and mine did final preparations to check if our Runners were functional.

All of the sudden, Jean walked over to us, which was a surprise. "What is it? Do you want something?" Crow asked him.

"Don't misunderstand. I just came to wish you good luck", Jean responded calmly. "We think that you guys are our greatest rivals in this tournament. The day to settle this has arrived."

"Yes", Yusei nodded. "Let's give it our all today."

"Of course…", Jean nodded. "…Since the battle has already begun."

There was something weird by the way he said that, but he didn't waste time to elaborate because he walked back to his team.

"What's with that guy? He sure is talkative today!" Crow muttered. "He's like a different person compared to that other day!"

"He may have finally realized our strength", I smirked. "As long as I, Jack Atlas, am the first Turbo Duelist, the outcome has been decided!"

"Ta det inte för givet, Jack (Don't take it for granted, Jack)", Estelle spoke up.

"What did you just say, Estelle?" Leo wondered.

"Don't take it for granted in Swedish", she replied. "We need to keep our eyes and ears open for all the traps Team Unicorn might set up for us."

"She's right", Yusei nodded. "Think first before you act, Jack. This is now a team Turbo Duel. We have to work together."

"I get it!" I replied irritably. "I haven't forgotten about that!"

My goal was to defeat all three members of Team Unicorn and show everyone that I was still the powerful King of Games and, one day, reclaim my throne.

"You're ready to go", Bruno told me as he closed a compartment on my Runner.

"Good luck, Jack!" Carly said. "Do your best!"

"Teach Team Unicorn a lesson!" Leo added.

"The former King of Games will show the pawns not to mess with the man of power!" I exclaimed determinedly.

"The Duelists have been decided!" the MC announced. "The team crew will return to the pit and the Turbo Duel will finally begin! We have Jack Atlas from Team 5D's versus Andre Lopez from Team Unicorn as the first Duelists!"

My teammates and Team Unicorn's crew hurried back to their booths to clear the course. Andre rolled forward so we both were standing in front of the start line. I messed with the clutch to make the engine roar and intimidate Andre.

"I've been looking forward to fight you", I told him. "We'll see which Power Deck of ours is stronger!"

"Let's do so", Andre responded.

"Speed World 2, set!"

The Field Spell was activated and the Solid Vision was on. There was no turning back now.

The countdown started as we all waited anxiously to start the match. Ten seconds later, the red lamp switched to green.

"Turbo Duel! Acceleration!" the MC yelled, commencing the Turbo Duel. "The Duel starts after the first corner!"

Andre and I drove from the start line with the goal to take the first corner. I was certain I was going to take the corner, but Andre was a sneaky one and activated turbo boosters on the back of his Runner, making it go faster than mine. That was an overboost system! Wasn't that against the regulations?!

I got furious by the fact that Andre was desperate to go first, but rules were rules. "If you want to go first that bad, then I'll let you!"

"Now then, the starter has been decided! The Turbo Duel finally begins!" the MC declared.

"Duel!" Andre and I called simultaneously.

Andre: 4000 LP

Jack: 4000 LP

I drew the first five cards of my Deck and added them to my Wrist Dealer. I got Vice Dragon, Dark Resonator, Powerful Rebirth, Strike Slash, and Speed Spell – Power Baton. It was a perfect hand to quickly Synchro summon Red Dragon Archfiend on my next turn.

"It's my turn!" Andre called, drawing his sixth card. "I summon the Tuner Monster, Uni-Horned Familiar, in defense mode!"

Uni-Horned Familiar, Level 2, Tuner: DEF 1000

"Next, by removing a Spell card, Speed Spell – the End of the Storm, in my hand, I Special summon Monoceros in defense mode!"

Monoceros, Level 3: DEF 1000

Was he aiming for a first turn Synchro summoning like me?! He almost felt like a fake copycat, like that imposter of mine a few months ago!

"I place two cards facedown and end my turn", Andre finished.

What?! He didn't go for a Synchro summoning? Then why did he bother summoning his two Monsters?

Whatever! I'm going to squash him and break down his defensive wall!

"Let's go! I'll show you my power!" I yelled before drawing my sixth card. "It's my turn!"

Andre: 4000 LP = SPC 0 – SPC 1

Jack: 4000 LP = SPC 0 – SPC 1

My sixth card was Mad Archfiend. Not bad, but I was going to save him for later.

"Because you have Monsters on your side of the field and I don't, I Special summon Vice Dragon in attack mode, but both his attack and defense points are halved because of this Special summon!"

Vice Dragon, Level 5: ATK 2000 – ATK 1000

"Next, I summon Dark Resonator in attack mode!"

Dark Resonator, Level 3, Tuner: ATK 1300

"I'm tuning Level 3 Dark Resonator and Level 5 Vice Dragon! The ruler's heartbeats will now file through here! Bear witness to its creation shaking power! Synchro summon! My very soul, Red Dragon Archfiend!"

Red Dragon Archfiend, Level 8: ATK 3000

"Jack Atlas has brought out his Red Dragon Archfiend!" the MC commented. "Now, show us that overwhelming power you used during the Fortune Cup!"

"When Red Dragon Archfiend attacks a defense position Monster, it destroys all of my opponent's defense position Monsters!" I quickly explained. "No matter how many defense Monsters you have, they're meaningless before Red Dragon Archfiend! Go, Red Dragon Archfiend! Absolute Power Force!"

My Signer Dragon's right hand was enveloped in flames before he reached for Uni-Horned Familiar, ready to crush it into pieces along with its comrade.

"I activate Uni-Horned Familiar's effect!" Andre suddenly called. "When the defense position Uni-Horned Familiar is selected as an attack target, I can remove it from play by removing another Monster I control from play! I banish Monoceros!"

"What?!" I exclaimed in shock.

Both Monsters were absorbed into a wormhole, leaving Andre's field empty. What was he thinking?! Unless he was trying to draw me into a trap!

"Then, since the conditions on the field have changed, I'll halt Red Dragon Archfiend's attack!" I quickly commanded.

"It's a shame, but that's impossible! You can't stop the attack because of Uni-Horned Familiar's effect", Andre informed me.

"What?!"

Was this Andre's plan the whole time?! He actually wanted me to attack him, even though he'll receive a massive amount of damage?!

Red Dragon Archfiend had no other choice but to continue the attack and targeted Andre now. I gritted my teeth, hoping Andre wouldn't activate one of his Traps that could remove my dragon from the field.

"I activate my Continuous Trap; Mirror Wall!" Andre shouted. "I halve the attack points of your attacking Red Dragon Archfiend!"

A wall of mirror crystals appeared in front of him, which Red Dragon Archfiend ended up punching instead. My dragon's fist collided with the wall, but his flames made it through and inflicted damage to my opponent.

Andre: 4000 LP – 2500 LP = SPC 1

Jack: 4000 LP = SPC 1

"Oh my! Jack didn't manage with a direct attack, but he inflicted some damage to Andre!" the MC commented.

I was relieved that Andre didn't use a Trap card that could have destroyed Red Dragon Archfiend, but his game play was confusing. It almost felt like he was playing with me.

"I place two cards facedown and end my turn!" I called, setting both my Trap cards.

"It's my turn!" Andre called.

Andre: 2500 LP = SPC 1 – SPC 2

Jack: 4000 LP = SPC 1 – SPC 2

"Standby Phase! Uni-Horned Familiar that I removed with its effect returns to the field!"

Uni-Horned Familiar, Level 2, Tuner: DEF 1000

"Mirror Wall's effect! If I want to keep it, I have to pay 2000 Life Points, but I won't, so it's destroyed!"

I expected him to get rid of Mirror Wall. No one would want to jeopardize their Life Points, especially if the cost was that high. However, I didn't like the fact that Uni-Horned Familiar was back.

"This card can only be Special summoned if my opponent controls a Monster and I control a face-up Tuner Monster. I Special summon D.D. Unicorn Knight in attack mode!"

D.D. Unicorn Knight, Level 4: ATK 1800

"D.D. Unicorn Knight's effect! When this card is Special summoned this way, I can select one of my banished Level 3 or lower non-Tuner Monsters and Special summon it! However, that Monster's effects are negated. Return, Monoceros!"

Monoceros, Level 3: DEF 1000

"I'm tuning Level 2 Uni-Horned Familiar and Level 3 Monoceros! Galloping in the heavens like thunder, crisscrossing them like a might gate, appear forth from the world of myth and legend! Synchro summon! Neigh, Thunder Unicorn!"

Thunder Unicorn, Level 5: ATK 2200

"Thunder Unicorn has 2200 attack points! It's no match for my Red Dragon Archfiend!" I pointed out.

"I'm not done yet!" Andre said. "I activate Monoceros' effect in my Graveyard! Because I used him and a beast-type Tuner Monster as Synchro Materials, I can select one beast-type Tuner Monster from the Graveyard and Special summon it! Return, Uni-Horned Familiar!"

Uni-Horned Familiar, Level 2, Tuner: DEF 1000

Not that little fiend again!

"Now I activate Thunder Unicorn's effect! Once per turn, I can select one face-up Monster my opponent controls and it loses 500 attack points for each Monster I control until the End Phase! The downside is only Thunder Unicorn is allowed to attack this turn. I have three Monsters, so your Red Dragon Archfiend's attack points are reduced to 1500!"

"What?!" I exclaimed in shock.

Thunder Unicorn's horn started sparkling as it collected energy from the other two Monsters before turning around to face my Signer Dragon. The unicorn fired a thunderbolt that electrocuted Red Dragon Archfiend, making him lose half his attack points.

Red Dragon Archfiend, Level 8: ATK 3000 – ATK 1500

"Red Dragon Archfiend!" I yelled worriedly.

"Before I enter Battle Phase, I activate my Trap; Horn of the Phantom Beast! I equip it to Thunder Unicorn, increasing his attack points with 800!"

Thunder Unicorn's lightning bolt-like horn grew a little bigger and was enveloped with fire.

Thunder Unicorn, Level 5: ATK 2200 – ATK 3000

"Attack, Thunder Unicorn! Flaming Thunder Spear!"

The unicorn neighed before galloping towards Red Dragon Archfiend. My dragon tried to stop the attack, but Thunder Unicorn stabbed him in the chest, shattering him into pieces. I felt the aftermath of it as my Life Points were decreased to the same amount as Andre's.

Andre: 2500 LP = SPC 2

Jack: 4000 LP – 2500 LP = SPC 2

"Impossible! Red Dragon Archfiend was destroyed so easily!" I growled angrily.

Andre snorted amusingly. "I actually receive a bonus with this."

"Say what?!" I growled.

"Because Thunder Unicorn is equipped with Horn of the Phantom Beast and he destroyed a Monster, I get to draw one card from my Deck. I place one card facedown and end my turn."

"How dare you use such tricks?! If you're trying to take my power, I'll bring up power that's unable to be taken! It's my turn!" I called, drawing Thunder of Ruler.

Andre: 2500 LP = SPC 2 – SPC 3

Jack: 2500 LP = SPC 2 – SPC 3

"I summon Mad Archfiend in attack mode!"

Mad Archfiend, Level 4: ATK 1800

"Next, I activate my Continuous Trap; Powerful Rebirth! I Special summon a Level 4 or lower Monster from my Graveyard and equip this card to it! The equipped Monster will gain 100 attack and defense points and its Level will be raised by one! I'm Special summoning Dark Resonator from the Graveyard in attack mode!"

Dark Resonator, Level 3 – Level 4, Tuner: ATK 1300 – ATK 1400

"I tune Level 4 Dark Resonator with Level 4 Mad Archfiend! Light and darkness are two sides of the same coin! Lord and master of Chaos! Unleash the brutal power! Synchro summon! Appear, Chaos Ruler, the Chaotic Magical Dragon!"

Chaos Ruler, the Chaotic Magical Dragon, Level 8: ATK 3000

"Jack Atlas has Synchro summoned a new dragon Synchro Monster! I've never seen this one before, but that's expected coming from the former King of Games!" the MC commented.

"Chaos Ruler's effect! When this dragon is Synchro summoned, I can excavate the top five cards of my Deck and add one LIGHT or DARK Monster to my hand and then send the remaining cards to the Graveyard!"

I drew the top five cards and took a quick look at them. They were Battle Fader, Prideful Roar, Flare Resonator, Speed Spell – Sonic Buster, and Crimson Fire. The only DARK Monster I had among these cards was Battle Fader, which came at the perfect timing.

"I add Battle Fader to my hand!" I called before sending the remaining cards to the Graveyard. "You want to see power, I'll show you power! Chaos Ruler, attack Thunder Unicorn!"

"What?!" Andre exclaimed in surprise.

"What is Jack Atlas doing, sacrificing his new dragon to destroy Thunder Unicorn?!" the MC gasped.

"I'm not sacrificing anything! I activate my Trap; Strike Slash!" I yelled. "When a Monster I control declares an attack, that Monster gains 700 attack points until the end of this turn!"

Chaos Ruler, the Chaotic Magical Dragon, Level 8: ATK 3000 – ATK 3700

Chaos Ruler's body was enveloped by a fiery aura before he flew towards Thunder Unicorn. The unicorn used its burning horn to stop Chaos Ruler, but it was no use. My new dragon slashed Thunder Unicorn into pieces, inflicting more damage to Andre. That's what he gets for destroying Red Dragon Archfiend!

Andre: 2500 LP – 1800 LP = SPC 3

Jack: 2500 LP = SPC 3

"Jack Atlas has taken the lead now!" the MC announced, causing the audience that cheered for me to get even louder.

"I activate my Trap; Parallel Selection!" Andre called. "I can only activate this card when a Synchro Monster I control is destroyed by my opponent either by battle or card effect and sent to the Graveyard. Then I can select one of my banished Spell cards and add it to my hand! I choose Speed Spell – the End of the Storm!"

"Like that card could help you on your next turn", I snorted before setting Thunder of Ruler. "I place one card facedown and end my turn, which means Chaos Ruler's attack points return to normal."

Chaos Ruler, the Chaotic Magical Dragon, Level 8: ATK 3700 – ATK 3000

"You're right about the Speed Spell not helping me now, but there's still a lot I can do. It's my turn!"

Andre: 1800 LP = SPC 3 – SPC 4

Jack: 2500 LP = SPC 3 – SPC 4

"I summon Unibird in attack mode!"

Unibird, Level 2: ATK 100

"I activate Unibird's effect! By removing this card along with another Monster on my field from play, I can Special summon a Synchro Monster from my Graveyard that has a Level less than or equal to the combined original Levels of the other two Monsters! I remove from play Unibird and D.D. Unicorn Knight! The combined Level is six, so I Special summon Level 5 Thunder Unicorn in attack mode!"

Thunder Unicorn, Level 5: ATK 2200

No! He revived the thunder horse! If he uses Thunder Unicorn's effect and lowers Chaos Ruler's attack points, then he could destroy it!

"I activate Speed World 2's effect! By removing four Speed Counters, I can inflict 800 points of damage for each Speed Spell I have in my hand! I only have Speed Spell – the End of the Storm, so you'll take 800 points!"

I suddenly got electrocuted by the Field Spell's power, but it felt more like a tickling feather than a lightning bolt.

Andre: 1800 LP = SPC 4 – SPC 0

Jack: 2500 LP – 1700 LP = SPC 4

"I place two cards facedown and end my turn", Andre called.

What?! Why didn't he pull his stunt to attack me?! Was it another trap?

"What's this? Andre chose not to use Thunder Unicorn's effect to lower Chaos Ruler's attack points with 1000 and attack it!" the MC noticed the weird gameplay. "What could he be planning?"

That's what I wanted to know.

XXXXXXXXXX – Normal POV

Team 5D's watched the Turbo Duel and they were just as confused as Jack of why Andre didn't use the attack reduction combo to destroy Chaos Ruler. However, a caution alarm set off on their control panel. Bruno quickly checked the blue-print of Jack's Duel Runner and noticed an error.

"Yusei! Look at this!" Bruno called alarmingly.

"What's wrong?" Yusei asked.

Bruno pointed at the red part at the front of the blue-print where the computer sensed the error. "There may be a problem in the air intake. What do we do? Should we bring him into the pit? Even though the Speed Counters will be taken away…"

"If the problem can be quickly fixed, then it's worth sacrificing the Speed Counters", Estelle said.

"Yeah, safety comes first", Yusei nodded before turning to the twins. "Bring Jack into the pit."

"Yes, Yusei!" the twins nodded simultaneously before hurrying to the barrier with a digital sign.

"I'm going too!" Carly raised her hand before running after the twins.

XXXXXXXXXX – Jack's POV

"I don't know what you're planning, but I'll crush you!" I yelled at Andre.

We rounded the corner to the side where the pit was. I quickly noticed how the twins waved their arms while Carly held the digital sign that informed me that I should head into the pit.

Like hell I could do that now! Telling me to go into the pit at a time like this?!

No, I was going to continue Dueling!

"It's my turn!" I yelled, drawing Sword Master.

Andre: 1800 LP = SPC 0 – SPC 1

Jack: 1700 LP = SPC 4 – SPC 5

All of the sudden, Yusei's words from before echoed inside my head; this wasn't a one-on-one Duel… This was a team Duel! Did I make a mistake for not listening to my comrades and allowed my anger to take control over me?

Whatever. I'll finish this turn and then I'll head into the pit to see what they wanted.

XXXXXXXXXX – Normal POV

"Oh no! Jack plans on continuing the Duel!" Bruno gasped.

"What's he thinking?! This Turbo Duel is supposed to be about teamwork!" Crow muttered angrily.

Yusei had been silent for a while as he noticed Andre's gameplay was different than before. "It looks like we've made a grave mistake in our strategy", he spoke up, getting everyone's attention.

"What do you mean, Yusei?" Leo asked.

"Andre is using a power reduction style…", Estelle said softly.

"Power reduction?" Carly repeated confusedly.

"That's a Deck that specializes in taking down Decks like Jack's Power Deck", Bruno explained.

"Then back then, at the practice course…!" Crow's eyes widened in realization. "He wasn't using his real Deck during that time?!"

"We were too naïve and being drawn into their lure", Yusei concluded while holding back his own irritation of how he and the others had been tricked.

"What do you mean, Yusei?" Luna asked.

Estelle raised her hand up with a slight guilty expression. "Back in my world, in the anime, Breo purposely drove out onto the course just as Crow was coming in fast, intentionally causing the accident, so Andre could get an opportunity to Turbo Duel Yusei and analyze his strategy. That's why I told you, Crow, to decelerate and get off the course."

"What?!" Crow exclaimed in shock. "Breo crossed in front of me on purpose?!"

"Yes", Estelle nodded.

"Why didn't you warn us?" Crow asked while trying to keep his angry tone down to not scare the autistic woman.

"Because I didn't know whether or not they were going to pull that stunt", Estelle replied while hugging herself.

"In other words, they tricked us", Yusei stated. "They made us think that Andre, their first Duelist, would use a Power Deck. In order to fight power with power, we chose Jack as our first Duelist."

"I understand!" Bruno exclaimed in realization. "At the start, the reason why Team Unicorn tried so hard to go first, barely keeping regulations, it was to set traps for the Power Deck!"

"Does this mean Team Unicorn had all of this predicted so far?!" Carly wondered.

The only answer Yusei gave was a nod. With that, Team 5D's turned their eyes at Jean and Breo, the majority glaring at the duo. Breo and Jean weren't affected by their looks. In fact, they were a little amused by the fact that Team 5D's had figured out their plan.

"It looks like they've finally realized our plan", Breo told his teammate.

"However… It's too late", Jean added with an amused grin. "Jack Atlas' loss is inevitable."

XXXXXXXXXX – Jack's POV

"I expected that much from you throughout this Duel, Jack", Andre spoke up. "However, playing such a simple Duel, you can't win the WRGP."

"Shut it! I don't need to hear an advice from you about a Duel!" I growled furiously. "I'll show you an advanced Duel! I summon Sword Master in attack mode!"

Sword Master, Level 3, Tuner: ATK 1200

"Battle! Sword Master, destroy Uni-Horned Familiar!" I commanded.

Sword Master flew towards the annoying fiend and slashed it into pieces with his dual machete.

"When Sword Master destroys a defense position Monster that has lower points than Sword Master's attack points, he inflicts the difference as damage to you!"

Andre ducked his head as the remnant pieces of his Tuner Monster rained upon him.

Andre: 1800 LP – 1600 LP = SPC 1

Jack: 1700 LP = SPC 5

"Now it's time to get rid of your steed once and for all! Chaos Ruler, obliterate Thunder Unicorn!"

Chaos Ruler fired a black energy beam from its mouth, aiming it at Thunder Unicorn. This was it. Hopefully, I would finally get rid of the horse.

"I activate my Trap; Doble Passe!" Andre suddenly called.

"What?!" I gasped in disbelief when his Trap card was revealed on the digital Duel field on my screen.

"When an opponent's Monster declares an attack on a face-up attack position Monster I control, I make your attack a direct attack instead and then I inflict damage to you equal to the attack points of the attack target I control", Andre explained.

"Are you nuts?!" I yelled, stunned by his move. "Both our Life Points will drop to zero!"

"Yes, but the good thing is, on my slash Breo's next turn, Thunder Unicorn can attack directly", Andre smirked.

He was willing to self-destruct so his teammate could use Thunder Unicorn to attack directly, giving Estelle a huge disadvantage before she even has a chance to do something?!

I had underestimated Team Unicorn. They really were a professional team who made such sacrifices to give their partners an advantage.

Chaos Ruler's attack switched target and engulfed Andre and his Duel Runner. In response, Thunder Unicorn's horn began sparkling before it discharged a lightning bolt at me. I yelled in pain by the Solid Vision as my body tingled by its effect.

Andre: 1600 LP – 0 LP = SPC 1

Jack: 1700 LP – 0 LP = SPC 5

My Duel Runner opened compartments to release steam as the screen turned blank with a big X. I started slowing down so I wouldn't accidently crash into the pit, but all of the sudden my Duel Runner made an unnatural bounce, throwing me out of balance.

"What's this?!" I yelled, not getting what was happening.

The red X shifted into a red ERROR while I was spinning around on my Runner out of control. I heard a soft explosion coming from the front of the Runner, but I couldn't pinpoint from where.

I tried my best to regain control, but the Runner crashed onto the glass barrier that separated the course from the audience with such a force I was ejected out of my seat.
