"What?" Harmony said in shock, taking in what her dad just said. "Dad, you can't be serious? Really magic?"

Marco walked up to her slowly. He placed a hand on her cheek. Stroking his thumb over the music note. "Prior to magic being destroyed your mother had cheek marks like these. Except hers were pink hearts."

"Dad seriously magic coming back?" Harmony took a step back. "Yeah right, if magic came back I'd think there be more changes than one teenager getting strange marks on cheeks."

"Harmony I'm serious magic is back," Marco said firmly.

"Great my family's gone crazy."

"Harmony I'm not crazy."

"Really, really this isn't crazy. I'm just going about my day was when these appear on my face! No, it's a perfectly normal part of teenagehood. Getting music notes on your cheeks is just like getting a pimple! Nothing at all to worry about. And the answer is simple. Magic! Dad this isn't one of Artemis's stupid fantasy books. This is real life and magic doesn't,"

Harmony stopped. Her dad was staring at her. Slowly and silently he pointed behind her. Rolling her eye she turned around and gasped. Her lamp was floating. Surrounded in a blue aura. Taking a glance at her hands she saw the same aura around her hands for a few seconds. As soon as it disappeared, the lamp fell. She took a step back and screamed.

"It is real," Harmony said looking at it. Her voice shaking with each word.

"Don't worry sweetheart," Marco said running over to her. He held her tightly and started stroking her hair. "This isn't a bad thing. With a little bit of practice, you'll have full control of this. We're all in this together. You, me, Artemis, the three of us will get through this."

"Wait a minute Artemis!" Harmony released herself from Marco's grip.

"Crap," Marco said pulling out his phone. "Don't worry I'll call you Aunt Mariposa. He's with her and hopefully, she can calm him down."

"Okay," Harmony said she turned away and whispered. "Please be okay."

Artemis smiled as he and Mariposa stood outside the pizza place. It was rare when he got to see his extended family and even it being just him was something he'd never thought would happen. Still, he felt bad that Harmony was unable to join them. The two of them walked inside and placed in there orders before sitting at a table by the window.

"You know I think we should do this more often," Mariposa said leaning back on her seat a little.

"I dunno it feels weird not having Harmony here," Artemis said quietly. Quickly glancing over at an open four-person table.

"Yeah but we're the younger siblings. The babies of the family. We relate more to each other than Harmony and I do."

"Weren't you like four when Dad moved out?" Artemis asked taking a sip of his soda.

"But I still felt like I was in his shadow somethings." Mariposa stirred her straw in her cup a little. "I mean how do you compare when your older brother apparently overthrew an oppressive boarding school and was the personal squire to a princess that saved a kingdom countless times. How do you compete with that? Not to mention your grandparents wanted to name me Marco Jr. of all things."

Artemis laughed a little.

"Stupid right?" MAriposa couldn't help but laugh too.

"Hopefully Mom and Dad had more creative name choices if I was a girl," Artemis commented still laughing a bit.

"Hmm, if I remember correctly." Mariposa paused for a moment. "Your name was still gonna by Artemis if you were a girl. Your mom was really dead set on that name."

"Sounds like her. At least from what I've heard about her," Artemis said quietly. He looked up at his aunt who gave him an assuring look. "I dunno it's just Dad and Harmony don't really like talk about her. Well, Dad does but they're almost always from before the magic was destroyed. Sometimes he'll talk about Mom trying to adjust to life without magic but that's it. He never talks about after I was born. I can't help but think was it me?"

"I don't know what to tell you bud," Mariposa said in a tone that was both blunt and reassuring. "If it makes you feel any better you're Mom started acting off before you were born."

Before Artemis could respond they heard that their order was ready. Mariposa stood and told Artemis to remain seated. He looked out the window. Passing by was a family of four. Very similar to his own. The father was walking with the little girl in his arms swing her a bit. Meanwhile, a little boy was sleeping in his mother's arms. She rocked him a little as the walked by. Artemis couldn't help but think of his family in the place. Harmony being swung around by Marco while Artemis slept in Star's arms. Was there ever a time where they were like that? Or did it never happen? Just nothing like this at all.

"The well," a voice called interrupting Artemis's thoughts. It didn't sound familiar to him at all but also weirdly comforting. Like a friend calling to him "Go to the well young Butterfly."

"Artemis you okay?" Mariposa asked walking back over.

"I thought I heard someone call me," Artemis said still looking around.

"Eh sometimes the mind likes to play on ya," Mariposa said handing Artemis his pizza. Artemis picked up a slice and took a bite of it. Not even minute later Mariposa held up her phone. "Got to take this it's your dad."

"I hope everything is every all right?" Artemis thought to himself.

"Hey big bro," Mariposa said smiling. As she listened to Marco her face went from smiling to confusion. "Something off about Artemis?"

Artemis was taken aback. Slowly he put his slice of pizza down.

"You know now that you mention it I think he's grown about a centimeter since I last saw him," Mariposa said with a slight laugh. They talked a for bit more before Mariposa hung up.

"Is everything okay?"

"Yeah, you know how cautious your dad can be. Probably still worried about the earthquake."

"Yeah probably."

"Okay," Marco said putting his phone down. "From what your aunt says it seems like Artemis doesn't have cheek marks."

"What?" Harmony said in shock. "How is that possible?"

"Well I've met some of your mom's family," Marco said thinking back to the Butterfly-Johansen reunion. "While I remember an aunt of hers having cheek marks, I can't think of any male relatives of hers having them."

"So Artemis won't be able to do magic," Harmony said in shock.

"That I don't know. The only Mewimans I've seen do magic were those with cheek marks."

"We can't tell him magic's back," Harmony said suddenly.

"Harmony he has to know."

"Dad this will crush him. He loves magic, it's his favorite thing in the world. It will crush him to find out he can't do it." Harmony held her dad's hands. "Please give me some time to find the right way to tell him."

"Promise me you tell him as soon as possible." Harmony felt a strange sensation in her arms as he said that.

"I promise."
