"Everyone got everything?" Moon asked as everyone met up the currently combined throne room of both castles. She looked around a bit more. "Where's Harmony?"

"I don't know," Queen Moon said. She around to Marco. He was currently on his phone, growling. "Marco are you alright?"

"I'm sorry I've been trying to contact Artemis all night," Marco said lowering his phone a bit. "But I haven't been able to get service at all."

"He'll be fine, but we do have something more important at hand."

"You do have a point," Marco said still looking at his phone. "I'm just going to send him a text. Just hope he's okay."

"Who's ready to save the world?" Harmony announced running into the room. She jumped a little from the last step. On the ground. Star laughed a little, tears forming in her eyes. "So where do we go?"

With everyone present, the group walked out of the castle. Looking around Harmony saw how simultaneously similar and different the two timelines were. It was still early in the morning, so there was almost no activity going on but that didn't matter. Simple things from the architecture of the buildings to even some of the plant life, looking so alike but so different. Could her mother choosing to not destroy magic have this great effect on the world? Or was there something more? Something greater. Soon they made to a strange building. One Harmony had never seen before. Her grandmother was quick to identify as the Magic Sanctuary. The ones from both timelines constantly fusing and separating. The group quickly ran inside. Star keeping Harmony close the whole way. Making it to the center, there was a decent size well in the center of the whole thing. Larger than any one Harmony had seen. Princess Meteora was the first to jump in followed by her counterpart. Slowly Harmony approached as others starting jumping in. Slowly she took a deep breath and jumped in. The world around her became encased in gold. Similar to the ooze that changed her life. Looking at the realm she stared in awe. Not knowing what was going on until something was shoved into her move.

"Gah what was that?" Harmony asked couching in between every word.

"Pudding courtesy of Glossaryck," Marco said shaking a little. "The only thing that keeps you sane in here."

Harmony chose not to question what her father was saying. The group walked through the realm of magic. Staying close together. Marco keeping his daughter close, much to her annoyance. For some reason, the members of the other timeline didn't seem to bothered by any threat present in the realm. Only adding to Harmony's annoyance.

"What's that?" Alphonse asked after a while. Harmony turned are saw something strange. It looked like magic only it was an eery dark color and not glowing.

"Dead magic," Star said walking up towards it. She started to shake, only calmed by King Marco's embrace. "It's like Toffee won all those years ago."

"Well at least we know where to start," Meteora said walking into the magic. Harmony followed. It felt cold and lifeless. Sticking her hands in it made it only feel worse.

"Blah," Harmony said sticking her tongue out a little.

"Alright let's do this."

"Make the bond. Sew the fabric. Form the stone. Start the Magic." Everyone chatted in unison. Harmony kept strumming the strings on her harp hoping for something. She could feel the magic of the wand working. They kept repeating the words until they checked on the results.

"Nothing happened," Princess Meteora said defeated, falling into the magic.

"We're not strong enough," Moon said, her voice shaking as she did.

"Maybe we're just doing the spell wrong," Hope said quickly. "Like something we're missing"

"Where am I?" Artemis asked looking around. He was surrounded by complete darkness, apparently floating.

"Artemis," he heard someone call out to him. Someone familiar.

"Mom?" Artemis called out in confusion. His mother soon appeared in front of him facing away.

"Artemis, my baby, where are you?"

"Mom I'm right here!" Artemis called, he tried to move closer to her but was frozen in place.

"Please come home soon."

"Mom I'm here! I'm with you!" Artemis reached out. Only for his mother to turn around. Her eyes glowing bright gold. Artemis gasped before bolting awake. He laid frozen on his bed looking around. He saw the sleeping bag next to his bed vacant. Slowly he got out of bed. There wasn't any sign of Justin or his father. Slowly walking around, he found the house silent. However, there was a faint glow coming from the bathroom. Coming on and off.

"Someone in there?" Artemis asked knocking. Immediately the glow disappeared.

"It's Justin," Justin said from the other side. Seemingly in a panic of some sort.

"Okay," Artemis said before walking away. He walked around and called for his dad but no one answered. He ran up and checked his phone but nothing was there.

"Did you need me for something?" Justin asked walking into the room.

"I haven't heard anything from my dad," Artemis said nervously. "I checked all around but he's not here. This isn't like him."

"Maybe he sent something to your sister," Justin said after a little bit of silence.

"I'll call her." Artemis quickly opened his phone. Slowly pressing the call button under her name. He stood her, breaths shortening and getting heavier with each second. Praying for a responsive But nothing happened. "She didn't answer."

"I'm sure everything is fine," Justin said albeit with a lot of hesitation.

"I'm going to my grandparents," Artemis said walking into his room. He started packing his stuff.

"Well this is sudden," Justin exclaimed, following him in. Glancing at his backpack for a moment.

"Dad always told me if anything ever happened to go there." Artemis started to change into some clothes. "I'm not taking any chances and your grandparents live in there too. We ride the bus together."

Justin gave a small smile but seemed a little nervous. He started to help Artemis pack up his stuff. When that was all done the one walked outside. As they walked Artemis started feeling something strange in his gut like there was seriously something wrong going on. He didn't dare say anything to Justin. The guy already had a lot on his plate. Before getting on the bus, the two stopped and grabbed breakfast sandwiches. Eating them as they sat at the bus stop. Still, the food didn't do anything to help Artemis's stomach. As they were riding on the bus Artemis couldn't help but repeat to himself that everything was fine. Even if he didn't believe it.

Getting off the bus at the normal stop, Artemis paused in his tracks. In front of the two was an area surrounded by police tape that Artemis assumed was from the earthquake a while ago. He also swore he heard Justin mumble something about a taco place being there. But there was something more. Something strange sticking out from the center.

"You're close young Butterfly," the strange voice called weakly. It said more but Artemis didn't care.

"The well!" Artemis called out. He started running towards it.

"Artemis wait!" Justin said running after him. "You shouldn't go in there!"

Artemis didn't listen, he needed answers. And he needed them now. Taking a deep breath in, he jumped in. Justin grabbed onto him to prevent him from doing do but to no avail. They both started their decent inwards. Landing on something soft and strange. Artemis slowly stood up and found himself surrounded by gold. For some reason, Justin seemed worried.

"It's real," Artemis said looking around in awe. He started bouncing up and down. "It's real. I knew it was real!"

"Huh?" Artemis asked in confusion but also somewhat freaked out.

"Magic!" Artemis cheered. "My sister always told me it was fake but she was wrong. Oh, I can't wait to see the look on her face!"

Artemis ran around in the Realm of Magic. Squealing in joy. He smiled wider than ever before. After a few seconds, he paused in shock. This magic was different it was an eery dark green color.

"Dead magic," Justin said walking up to him but Artemis didn't hear him. In the center of the dead magic was a group of people, including his sister.

"No," Artemis said staring in anger.

"Are you okay?" Austin asked looking concerned.

"They knew," Artemis said his voice growing louder and angrier. "You all knew!"

Harmony turned and gasped. "Artemis?"

"How could you?!" Artemis cried. A strange person next to him pulled him close before magic surrounded them and they were gone.

"Could he always do that?" Princess Hope asked looking on confused before looking at Princess Alphonse. He just shrugged.

"This is what I knew would happen!" Marco shouted exasperated. "We can't tell Artemis about magic. Well, he was going to find out eventually. That bandaid should have ben rip-off from the beginning but no we had to keep it a secret."

"That boy had to be our Artemis," Star said running forward. King Marco protested a little but Star stopped him. "Something tells me it's him. I have to go after him."

"I'll come with you," King Marco said softly.

"No I have to do this alone," Star said softly. "He needs me."

King Marco smiled before he and Star shared a quick kiss. Slowly she let go. Her eyes started to glow before she sprouted wings, her hair changed to an updo, and her outfit became golden. Quickly she flew off, out of sight.

"Wow," Harmony said watching her mom fly.

"Huh both Harmonies and massive bitches," Princess Meteora said once Star was gone.

"Hey!" Harmony barked marching up to her.

"You don't even know me that well!"

"But I knew my timeline's you and man did she hate Artemis."

"If she is anything like then she could never hate her little brother."

"Meteora would you stop that?" Marco asked a bit angered.

"Not until everyone stops worshipping her a martyr," Princess Meteora complained rolling her eyes a little.

"Uh sis maybe we should keep the Harmony chat a little less obvious," Princess Hope said pointing towards the people of Harmony's timeline.

"Wait you don't mean," Marco said walking closer to them. King Marco looked at him with a somber look. "Harmony's dead."

"What?" everyone else from that timeline said in shock. Harmony froze in place.

"H-how?" she managed to squeak out.

"I don't know," King Marco began his voice starting to break. "When I got there Star was holding her and that's when I knew she was gone."

"These past few months have been hard on us," Moon said wiping away a few tears. "Especially on our Artemis."

"We got into a fight the other day. He claimed we favored his sister," King Marco was visibly shaken. "He was going on about her burning his spells and other events. I don't know what happened but that night he ran off."

"You don't think," Hope whispered walking up to her siblings as they all stood there silently. "Artemis is what we're missing."

"I think we lost them," Juston them standing back up. He started mumbling to himself and pacing around.

"I can't believe she would do that," Artemis said falling onto his knees.

"Yeah go figures," Justin asked pausing.

"She knows how much this means to me yet she and my dad kept it a secret," Artemis thought about the group he saw for a second. "But this may seem weird but it was like my mom was there."

"Wait a minute it all makes sense now," Justin said as Artemis looked on confused. "The similarities in our families, appearances, and everything else going on."

"What are you talking about?" Artemis asked looking up at him.

"I don't know this is possible," Justin reached for his hair before pulling it off. Underneath it was hair the same color as his. He reached for his face and pulled something off it revealing two orange suns on his cheeks. "We're the same person!"

"Are you me from the future?" Artemis pleaded with a lot of despair in his voice.

"No, unfortunately, you can't be," Justin, Artemis, whoever he was paused for a brief moment. "You don't happen to know anything about Mewni do you?"

"Only from the stories, my parents told me. My mom used to be a princess there until she gave the throne to Eclipsa. Then left after magic was destroyed."

"Mom would never destroy magic!" the other person said defensively. "That would have too many unknowns to it."

"But we don't even have the same mom."

"Is her name Star Butterfly?"

"Butterfly is her maiden name..."

"I don't how but we're the same. Except somehow I grew up as prince of Mewni while you're an ordinary kid."

"I wouldn't say ordinary, my sister and I have a weird condition with our DNA. The doctors say there are some holes in it but we don't seem to have any negative effects."

"Odd. But I still think we're the same."

"We can't your name is..."

"Crown Prince Artemis Comet Butterfly of Mewni," he said with a little a bow.

"Okay, maybe we are," Artemis said in disbelief. "Wait how did Mom defeat Mina?"

"Mina? Like Mina Loveberry?"

"Yes," Artemis scooched a little to face him. Prince Artemis down next to him. "Mom and Dad always said that the reason they had to destroy magic was to defeat her and her army of Solarian warriors."

"Well, she was killed in the final battle of the War of Dimensions." Artemis looked at him with confusion and awe. "What happened was Hekapoo revealed she had been building a secret army for 300 years from who knows how many dimensions and was ready to attack Mewni. It went on for a few months until my parents use this thing they have called The Blood Moon Bond to created a spell powerful enough to defeat her."

"Wow," Artemis said in awe. But after a few seconds, his face fell. "Wait you said your sister died a few months ago. Does mean..."

"Yes," Prince Artemis said rather bluntly. "Harmony is dead."

"But-but how?" Artemis asked in disbelief.

"I don't know," Prince Artemis buried his head in knees and started crying. "I was there. I saw it happen. She was trying to fight off this beast, we've never seen before. I noticed she was getting weaker and offered to take the wand but she refused. She then did the Song of the Butterfly, Mom's strongest spell but before she could finish casting it she screamed, and then she was gone. I don't know if the beast did anything or something went wrong with the spell. And I'll never know."

"I don't know what I do if Harmony died. I might be really mad at her but I don't want her dead."

"I just wish I could go back and fix everything with her. Go back and undo everything."

"Everything?"

"Harmony was going to be tested by Baby," He paused for a moment and Artemis gave a quick nod. "But she only had two spells. So I created some for her. I slid them into the spellbook so Baby could see them and think she had more planned. However, Harmony found them and told our parents about it. They grounded me and confiscated all my spell work. I never got them back and was too afraid to ask. But the other day I was practicing some spells when I flipped to Harmony's chapter where she burned my spells."

"She what?!" Artemis asked in shock.

"She burned them," Artemis was still crying but sounded very angered by this. "She even put a piece of one of them in the book to taunt me. Going on about how I wanted her throne. But why on Mewni would I want her throne?"

Artemis just gave a small shrug. Prince Artemis reached into his backpack and pulled out what he could only assume was the Royal Family Wand. It's based was orange with yellows stripes around it. On top was a clear orb surround by leaves. Inside of the orb was a small fire burning brightly inside.

"Now here I am, the Crown Prince of Mewni." Prince Artemis's voice started to squeak a little.

"Have you ever talked to your parents about it," Artemis asked gently. "I used to think I was the reason my mom became depressed. It ate at my mind for so long but once I talked to my dad about it. He showed me that it wasn't true. Nothing could have prevented it. If anything m mom's fighting to be home with us again."

"I tried," Prince Artemis admitted with a sigh. His voice was calmer now. "But when I did we got into a huge fight. They favor Harmony like everyone else in the kingdom does. They see her as this perfect princess that can do no wrong and it annoys me so much. Because she's not she just acts that why so her precious reputation doesn't get ruined. Well, sis, you kept it even in death."

"Artemis," both boys turned to see their mother in front of them. Artemis could help but look in awe. Here his mother was, but with bright pink hearts on her cheeks. "Do you really feel that way?"

Prince Artemis stood frozen in place for a second. Artemis gently pushed him forward. He stood there silently, only for Star to kneel down and pull him close Gently comforting him, rubbing the back of his head. Prince Artemis embraced her and started crying. Star held him closer.

"I'm sorry Mom," he said softly.

"It's okay baby," Star said sweetly. She held him tightly before letting go of him. She still held on to his shoulders. "You're still grounded you know."

"I figured," Artemis wiped away a few tears and laughed a little.

"However," Both of the Artemises looked up at her. "I am willing to shorten it from a week to the weekend if you talk to me and your father about what's on your mind."

"Okay."

"Now we have some business to get to." Star looked over at Artemis, who waved a little. "I see you have met your counterpart. What's happening is our timeline and his are colliding into one and if we don't heal the magic from his. Well, it won't be pretty. We haven't had any luck but hopefully, with adding you into the mix we can successfully create magic."

"But magic's right here," Artemis said holding up some of it in his hands. It easily slid off him and he held it. "Artemis you said the magic was dead. You don't need to create magic but heal it."

"I think he's on to something Mom," Prince Artemis said with a slight nod.

"Hmm." Star thought about for a moment. "It wouldn't hurt to try that. Come on we have to hurry to meet with the others."

"Aren't you coming?" Prince Artemis asked looking at his counterpart.

"No," Artemis said looking down a little. "I can't do any magic. I wouldn't of any help."

Prince Artemis looked at his wand he took a deep breath before slowly walking up to Artemis. He held his wand forward. Having gently touch Artemis's chest. Slowly he brought it up to him while saying, "Magic deep inside, reveal yourself to me."

Artemis looked on as the wand glowed. The fire inside of it grew in size, filling the entire orb. The light soon created a small orb the Artemis brought up to his face. Slowly the light dispersed and went into his mind. He opened his eyes and smiled.

"You might not believe me when I say this but you do have magic. Somehow it hasn't shown yet."

"And we do need to work on a new spell to heal magic maybe you can help," Star said with a smile.

"Wow," Artemis said in awe. "You really think so?"

"Of course." Prince Artemis grabbed Artemis's hand. "Come on let's go."

"Make the bond. Sew the fabric. Form the stone. Start the Magic." Both of the Meteora's said jumping a bit one place. Magic was in between there hands.. Both of them opened their eyes to see nothing had happened.

"Welp that was pointless," Meteora said before turning to the others. "Anyone else got any ideas?"

Alphonse was quick to raise his hand.

"No," Meteora said bluntly.

"I didn't say anything!"

"We're not sacrificing something to make magic comeback."

"Well does anyone else have any ideas?!"

"Maybe if we take some of this magic," Princess Hope said walking over holding some golden magic in her arms. "And put in the dead magic, the spell will work."

She then gently placed the magic in the dead one. Repeating the words. However, the only thing that happened was the good magic dispersing. She sighed and collapsed into the ground. Harmony yawned a little after watching the scene.

"Artemis!" King Marco shouted shocking everyone around him. He ran up and hugged a young boy that Harmony somewhat recognized. "Thank God you're okay! Don't ever run off like that again! You had us all worried sick."

Harmony watched the family talk for a brief moment. She saw her younger brother standing off to the side. He wasn't looking at her just at them. She stood up and went to approach him but something in her head told her not to.

"Now that that's all settled," Star placed her hands on Artemis's shoulder. "This little guy has an idea that just be what we need."

Immediately everyone turned to look at Artemis. He gulped before saying, "Magic isn't gone it was to be healed not created."

"Woah the kid might be on to something," Meteora said.

"And for a spell, we were thinking, Fix the bond. Mend the fabric. Cleave the Stone. Return the Magic."

"But isn't Cleave in the original spell?" Someone asked.

"Well cleaved has two meanings, pull apart to bring to together," Prince Artemis explained. "It might work."

"It might work."

"Well we have no time to dawdle on it," Queen Moon announced walking into the center. "We have two timelines to save."

Prince Artemis pulled Artemis to a close hug. Artemis hugged him tightly. The two said some parting words before walking over to their own timelines. Artemis stood in the back as everyone started to recite the spell. Slowly he noticed a golden glow surrounding them.

"It's working!" He cheered. "It's working!"

As they continued on the glow got brighter and brighter. Artemis noticed how the magic around him went from the cold green to a warm gold. He started jumping up and down in place. Soon a golden barrier started forming between the two groups. Artemis caught Prince Artemis looking up at him. He gave him an assuring smile before the barrier covered him up. Artemis smiled but with a bit of sorrow. Next thing he flew a large explosion happened. Knocking him back a few feet.

AN: A little bit of self-promotion here but if you are interested in seeing more of the alternate timeline characters they're the focus on my fan comic Era of the Sunrise on my Instagram dreams_creativity. I thought it would be fun to have both versions of these characters meet in a fun crossover, which hopefully I'll get to in Era of the Sunrise soon.
