(18 years pass)
I kept replaying what happened this morning over and over in my head.
"You sure you have everything sweetie? You know you're more than welcome to stay here with us" My aunt says as she helps me pack my suitcase.
"Yep I have everything I'll ever need, and the movers should be moving the rest of my things into my new apartment later today."
"I just can't believe you're moving, me and the boys are really going to miss you."
I could see that my poor aunt was on the verge of tears. So to comfort her, I gave her a big hug and cried a little bit with her.
"I'll miss all of you too, but I promise I'll call every day. And visit you and the boys any chance I get."
"Just be safe babygirl, and if you need anything at all you know were just a phonecall away. We love you so much."
I smiled at her and said my goodbyes to my uncle, and my two little cousins. Joshua Jr who was 3 and Jax who was now 8 months old.
Picking up my suitcase, and strapping my little owl backpack on (Francesca). I got into my taxi and made my way to the airport.
Now here I was, back in the same city I grew up in. Gotham sure didnt change that much over the years. I never thought id come back, but I did manage to find an apartment for cheap. And I was happy that id be able to visit my mom's grave more often. I also wondered if I would run into Arthut while I was here. At first we would talk on the phone alot and we would write to one another every week.
But as time went on, I got busy with school and couldnt talk to him as much as I wanted. Then one day..we just stopped talking completely.. and I never knew why.
Even why I tried to get in contact with him again, he never responded to my letters. And when I tried to call him,his mom would answer and say he wasn't home.
Yet despite everything, I still missed him and hoped that id see him again.
All these thoughts were going through my head as I finally made it to my new place.
It was a little run down and not in the best neighborhood. But it was all I could afford until I got a new job.
Walking in to my apartment, I moved around a few boxes and unpacked everything in my bedroom.
My bed frame wasnt here yet so all I had was a mattress on the floor,a small dresser and a closet where my clothes were now hung up.
"Well this is kinda depressing" I said to myself.
So to cheer myself up, I decided to go for a walk and vist mom's grave on the way back.
I decided to chanche into a long sleeved black v neck shirt and Jean's and black Van's. Walking into my bathroom, I looked in the mirror to check myself over.
My hair was still black and straight and fell down my back all the way down to my waist. My chest had gotten way bigger and I was a little chunky. But over all I thought I was pretty and liked the way that I looked. After putting on a pair of blue diamond earrings, eyeliner, mascara, blush and light pink lip gloss. I pushed my hair back with a black headband and made my way out the door. Along with Francesca still strapped to my back. Since I didnt have a purse yet, I decided to keep my wallet and keys inside of my little backpack. Not caring at all what other people thought of me wearing her.
Walking a few blocks away from my apartment, I decided that I'd go shopping for a few things to keep me from getting board. Back home, I was actually taking guitar lessons but the guitar that I had at the time broke. Luckily for me I found a music store right down the street.
The building was called Kenny's Music Shop. And from what I could see, the place looked like it was going out of business.
Walking in, I was greeted by a black elderly man.
'Welcome Ms, how I help you today?" he asked.
"Hi, I'm looking for a new guitar' I said with a smile.
"Well if you look down the second isle, we have a few acoustic guitars on sale. Take a look around and when your ready just bring it up to the front."
"Okay, thank you' with that said I walked around and looked over the guitars. The store had plenty of varieties, but I fell in love with one certain guitar once I layed my eyes on it. It was glossy, purple and had cute little black butterfly designs on the sides.
Gently picking it up, I rushed to the counter and said "How much?' I asked with excitement.
"Oh very good choice pretty lady. Well since this place is going out of business and today just so happens to be our everything must go sale today. I'll knock it down to...60$ And I'll throw in the guitar case for free."
My smile just got bigger as I reached into my backpack and pulled out three 20 dollar bills.
"Thank you so much" I said happily holding my new guitar case.
But before the nice man could say anything else, a tall skinny man dressed like a hobo looking clown with a green wig came in.
"Hey sorry I'm late, Took me a while to do my makeup" he said with a nervous smile.
"Oh please excuse him ma'am, I hired him to advertise outside the shop" said the man almost as if he was embarrassed of the clown.
"Oh it's no problem at all, I like clowns."
When I said that the clown man looked down with a blush.
"Well I'll be going now good luck with the sale" I said before giving each of them a wave goodbye.
Walking around the block I found a little corner store and decided to get myself a soda.
Walking back the way I came, I decided to rest on a bench for a while.
From across the street, I could see the music shop. The nice old man was playing a piano and the clown man was dancing at holding up a sign that said "Everything must go!"
I giggled at his silly dance moves through my sips of soda. But I wasn't laughing for long, because out of nowhere a group of kids took the sign out of his hands and ran with it.
"What the hell?!" I said as I got up and watched the clown run after them. Nearly getting hit by a car in the process.
I tried to run as fast as I could to catch them. But screamed when I saw those little assholes hit the poor clown in the face with the sign making it smash to bits.
While the poor man layed on the ground, they kicked him over and over again.
"Hey assholes! Leave him alone!" I screamed before throwing my can of soda at one of them, causing his forhead to bleed.
"Aww shit man, you're bleeding." One said trying to help his friend.
"Get the hell out of here! Go!" I screamed.
They ran off calling me a bitch, but I didnt care. I got to my knees and put a hand to the clowns shoulder.
"Sir, Sir are you okay?!" I said.
He groaned in pain as he tried to get up.
I looked him over and noticed that he was bleeding from his mouth and he had a cut on his jawline.
"Dont worry you're gonna be okay, I think I have some bandages in my backpack' I said taking it off and digging through the zipper.
I placed my backpack down in front of him and used a tissue to clean his wound before putting a bandage over it.
Slowly he opened his eyes, but once he saw my backpack his eyes widened!
"...Francesca?' He said in a low voice.
"That's..That's right...how did you know...Wait a minute...Arthur?" I said.
"Jenna?" He said slowly getting up.
For a good 5 minutes we just stared at eachother. Not once taking our eyes off one another.
This was not the reunion I was expecting..
