"In your face, Loser, in your face." Adam was about two inches from Kim. "Loser."

"Social Distancing Asshole." Kim snarled.

"Loser, Loser, Loser." He danced around her.

Things had spiralled. Rapidly. What started out as a bit of fun had become a battle of wills, hurt egos and escalating ridiculousness. It was just becoming the new normal, each day they got a little more childish. They were coming to the end of their isolation and things were deteriorating but their squabbles were petty and over very quickly. Neither of them were taking it personally.

Kim had leapt from the sofa when she heard the knock on the door. Apparently she was getting a box of goodies from her sister delivered and they waited on every single delivery. "This is like Christmas." She giggled as she dragged it inside.

"If we are still here at Christmas one of us is going to be insane."

"Only one?"

"Yep, the other one will be thoroughly decomposed by then." He handed her a knife to open the box. "What the fuck?" Adam gasped.

Board Games. Nicole had sent them Board games and not just any old Board Games. There was Battleship, Connect Four, Twister, Monopoly and Trivial Pursuit. Boring old fashioned board games. He was hoping for at least Cards against Humanity. Something that could get a little sleazy, although Twister did hold some hope for him.

"Hours of family fun."

"If I was twelve."

"Well most days it's a stretch for you to even act twelve so I think we'll be right."

Adam peered into the box. "Is there at least alcohol in there?" He completely ignored her comment about his lack of maturity. "Please let there be alcohol."

"Nicole didn't need to send alcohol. You ordered enough to start a bar three days ago."

It was true, Kim did think he went a little overboard with the booze although they were enjoying the fancy Vodka that they were ploughing through at the moment. Last night got a little out of control as they decided to try and make a 'Social Distancing' Cocktail and by the end of the night they thought there were on a winner and were going to make a mint….and they were totally smashed. Adam didn't crawl out of bed until almost midday, Kim had given up on him at about 3am when he rolled onto his back and snored his head off. He was immovable and she slid out of bed and into his room.

"I'm gonna need every fucking drop of it."

Adam decided, finally out of sheer boredom that they would play Battleship first. Surely he'd slay that, it was 'boys game' apparently and Kim chose to ignore his misogynistic commentary.

Kim slaughtered him, she sunk all his fleet within the first ten minutes. "Thank God you are a cop and not in the Navy, there'd be no hope for the Country."

"Best of three?" Adam sulked while Kim laughed.

And she destroyed him again and again so he'd pushed it out to best of five. Kim soon figured out that Adam had started moving his ships during the game. "You are a fucking child."

Adam waved his hand in her face as she tried to peer over the top of the barrier. "Just you worry about what you are doing."

"What? Smashing you into tiny little pieces." Kim laughed manically. "I love this."

Connect Four ended even more epically. The first time Kim doubted that Adam had accidently knocked the release bar at the bottom, sending all the tokens crashing onto the table just as Kim was about to win her third game in a row. The next time it happened she called him on his shit and pelted him with tokens. "This game is shit. I'm coloured blind obviously." He whined.

"You are not colour blind you toddler."

He held up one of the red tokens. "This is blue right?"

Kim playfully pelted him with another handful of tokens. "You seem to forget that you can't actually be colour blind to be a cop so try another pathetic excuse."

"Okay." Adam thought for a moment. "I was blinded by your beauty. You've fucked with my retinas."

Kim shocked him when she flashed her tits quickly. "That'll fuck 'em." She giggled. They had descended into pure smut and desperate flirting and they were enjoying it, when they weren't scrapping that was.

"My eyes, my eyes." He covered his face with his hands and screamed hysterically as Kim walked out of the room.

"Twister?" Adam asked hopefully when Kim came back from the bathroom a few minutes later.

"No."

"Why not? I let you chose the last one, it's my turn."

"You will grope me."

He honestly didn't see a problem with that at all. He fully intended to grope her and he'd encourage her to reciprocate. To date Adam had always waited until Kim made the first move and he always stopped as soon as Kim told him it was enough. Most of the time he could tell by her body language. As strange as it was they were working towards something greater, they both could feel it but knew it wouldn't be fully realised until they were out of this artificial situation.

"Fuck yeah." Adam rubbed his hands together. "And you will love it."

Kim grabbed both his cheeks and bought her face right up close to his. "Don't touch me."

By the time they'd had dinner and a couple of drinks Kim decided that they were going to play Trivial Pursuit. "Really?" Adam groaned. "I was hoping for a little more interactive."

"Like what? Twister is off the list."

"Monopoly."

"That's not interactive."

"It could be. I could escort you directly to jail. Do not pass go, do not collect $200." He tugged on her foot. "I'd drag your sorry ass to the cells."

Kim snorted and continued to set up the Trivial Pursuit board. "Okay tough guy." She was looking forward to this. He had beaten her at the thumb wrestle and foot wrestle they'd had and destroyed her in every computer game she'd played with him. This was payback.

Adam poured them both another vodka and bought it over. He smiled sweetly and rolled the dice. She had no idea what was about to hit her.

"How?" She choked out as Adam slid his first piece of pie into place.

"I am a sponge for useless information." He deadpanned but it wasn't wrong. He'd been to more than his fair share of Trivia Nights, his Dad dragged him along to them for as long as he could remember. Some of it must have sunk in. "Dad was a Trivia Champion at the local club."

It didn't matter, it was mortifying for Kim though. She would never live this down.

He just kept answering the questions, no matter the category.

"Yitzhak Rabin" He cocked his head to the side and flashed his know it all smirk.

"This is fucking bullshit." Kim seethed. "You are cheating? How are you cheating? Have you read these before?" She turned the card over in her hand to see if the answers were on both sides. "You set me up?"

"It's not even my game." Adam chuckled. "Your sister sent it, remember?"

"You called her and told her to rig the cards." Kim knew she was being ridiculous. "Tell me how she did it? What did it cost you?"

"Okay." He was loving this and had played this perfectly. Making a little tepee shape above his head with his hands he mocked her. "Do you want some Reynolds Wrap for your hat?"

"How do you even know Yitzhak Rabin?"

"That's what our child is going to be called."

"No it's not."

Adam winked. "Just wait and see."

By the time Adam was sliding his last piece of cheese into place Kim was barely speaking to him and she started angrily packing up the game and kicked it under the couch never to see the light of day again. All the while he danced around in front of her and got up into her face.

"In your face, Loser, in your face." Adam was about two inches from Kim. "Loser."

"Social Distancing Asshole." Kim snarled, trying to get past him but he was blocking her in. It wasn't hard, they weren't exactly living in a mansion, they were always a good six feet from each other at all times or so it seemed.

"Loser, Loser, Loser." He danced around in front of her.

"I feel like I've been played."

"Trivial Pursuit is my jam." He pounded his chest like Tarzan.

"You surprise me."

"That's my plan." He grabbed her around the waist and pulled her flush against his body. Bringing his face even closer he stopped just before their lips touched. "I like proving to you that I am more than…." He left it hanging.

"…than what?"

"Just more than you thought I was."
