Kuri grabbed Naruto and hugged him. "Naruto! I was so…scared! I thought he killed you! W-When I woke up here…I-I was so sure…" She buried her face in his chest.
Sasuke watched her, sighing in relief.
Reiko took his hand. "She's ok, Sasuke."
"Y-You were sure what?" Naruto asked.
"I was…I was sure you were dead!" Kuri looked him over for wounds. "Are you sure you aren't a shadow clone? Or a trick?"
"No of course not!" Naruto said, calming her with a hand on her shoulder. "You were really…worried about me?"
Sasuke scoffed and looked away. "I don't like her spending so much time with the dobe."
"She's…happy though." Reiko said.
Sasuke sighed. "I know that. He trapped her in a genjutsu where she watched Naruto die. It knocked her out, and then he brought her here."
Reiko growled. "That bastard."
Kuri grabbed Naruto and held him close. "Don't leave me! Don't go! Naruto! Don't go!"
Naruto was absolutely shocked. "I-I'm not going anywhere, ttebayo. I promise."
Kuri sobbed into his chest. "You…were…dead. So very…dead. And…cold…" She touched his temples. "Blue eyes…vacant…" She stroked his whiskers. "Those whiskers…faded…" Kuri sobbed harder.
Sasuke put his hand on her shoulder. "It wasn't real, Kuri. He's alive."
Kuri sniffed. "I know. I do. But…I just keep…keep seeing it!"
Naruto took her hand.
