The Queen smiled as Jack flew in. "I've been waiting for you, Jack."

Jack merely raised an eyebrow. "Waiting for me, or someone else?"

The Queen lunged and caught him by the collar, summoning a fireball in her other hand. "I'm going to kill you, Jack. But you won't be lonely. That little bitch is going to follow right after you."

"I…" Jack struggled. "Won't let you kill her." He smiled defiantly.

The Queen threw him in the hair. "Goodbye, Jackson—" She hit him with a fireball. "Overland—" another. —"Frost!"

Jack fell out the window, and as he landed in the snow, he threw the arrowhead toward the warmth of the sun, willing it not to freeze, for her not to come. His eyes shut, and the cold from his body froze the arrowhead.

"K-Kuri…" Jack whispered.

His eyes opened hours later, when she ran to his rescue and was downed by Pitch's arrow. Jack couldn't move, couldn't come to her rescue.

And then a dark shadow came over the forest, imprisoning everyone inside.
