So, dear readers, wait is over, here´s the next chapter.

First of all, once more, thank you very much for all the kind words. It is good to see you like what I am doing with your heroes. Honestly, every time I read a new review; I smile. It really means a lot to me. As well, that so much people read this story of mine. (Even if you stay unknown, that is good but the stats tell me.)

Okay. Back to the chapter. You may guess what happens at the end. And no, it is not the end of the story, it is not the last and least chapter.

What you will find…a kind of long Aragorn content and of course an entry in Faramir´s diary. As well, an exchange among friends and brothers.

Too much talk already.

Enjoy.

Nightmares come true

The river Anduin, trees. They were here to rest, may even stay for the night. Suddenly, a foe...no many foes, dark creatures. Then, Boromir fighting for his life. Two hobbits at his side. An arrow struck him but the man of Gondor remains on feet. It was obviously to guess the target of the next aim.

Again, a dream, its content alarming. Faramir hoped for a dreamless night but was disappointed. Eyes wide open, he tries to make out if it is already dawn. Then he notices the peaceful breaths of his brother, still asleep. So, the sun would not greet the following day soon. One thing Faramir knows for sure is that Boromir would never be late for duty and with this person found sleeping, night was present. Not able to return to sleep, Faramir silently left his bed. He looks around, unsure where to go. Carefully, not wanting to disturb anyone, the younger one goes down the stairs.

"Dreams that do concern you, Faramir, man of Gondor?" a voice asks him. The young ranger turns around but Lady Galadriel was not behind him. "You will find me below, younger son of the Steward," the Lady states. So, Faramir follows the stairs to the end. Galadriel greets him. He bows slightly and waits for her to speak again. "This gift you received from your mother is rare among the folk of men," the Lady declares.

"I know. If only, I could read my dreams more accurately," he replies, head bowed.

"It is not an easy task to do that. Even among elves, dreams are not interpreted correctly at all times," Galadriel reassures him. "Be careful Faramir, son of Denethor. The dream of yours could have spoken the truth," the Lady informs him then she disappeared out of Faramir's view. She was right. This time one specific person was in danger. He will protect Boromir even if that means risking his own life. A prize he is willing to pay.

Boromir opens his eyes. The others were simultaneously on their feet, except for one. This one, his dear brother, seems to be awake for quite a long time. The older one rises, collects his few belongings and sneaks to Faramir. Unfortunately, the surprise was spoiled by the very one who was the target. The eyes of Faramir found his, apart from that the young man stayed silent. "This is getting frustrating you know," Boromir states, feigning disappointment.

"So, the day comes near you finally value the skills of mine, above your own," the younger one teases him. Boromir smiles at his brother and pats the shoulder of his dearest little one. He arises and his gaze searches for Merry and Pippin. Instead of them, he found Aragorn heading outside. One look back tells him that Faramir was right behind him. His little ones were to be found outside. They haven't yet decided how to continue their journey. Boromir joined Aragorn who was talking to Galadriel and Celeborn.

"If you value my advice, I would avoid Minas Tirith. The ring was able to corrupt my heart therefore it does the same with every brave men of Gondor," he voices his opinion.

Aragorn nods, "I do not know which path Gandalf planned but time is short."

Then Faramir was once again behind the older one. "We may should head towards Ithilien. It lays straight on the way to Mordor. Even if the patrolling rangers should discover us, I am still Captain and they will let us pass," the younger one suggests.

"At least it would be wise to take this direction. To follow Anduin would spare us days," Aragorn agrees.

"We will equip you with the boats you'll need for this course of action," promises Celeborn.

Before giving farewell, each member of the remaining Fellowship received a parting gift. The gift of his was a shaft for Andruil. Boromir's was a belt and Faramir obtained an elvish-stone with the ability to heal. Aragorn's boat carried Frodo and Sam. Legolas and Gimli shared one, getting more and more along with each other. Merry and Pippin were seated in the one of Boromir and Faramir occupied one alone. They passed the borders of Gondor, marked by two kings made of stone. Already having crossed paths with Gondor, Aragorn knew them well. Frodo and Sam on the other hand looked in awe at the statues. Anduin was followed till a lake lays in front of them. The one of Amon Hen.

Next to him Faramir seems quite worried. "I had a vision again. Here, of this very place," the younger one states. "Forgive me, I should have informed you earlier. To name the place after my dream, I were not able to but now I recognize it," Faramir adds.

"Do not worry Faramir. It is alright. You recognized this place that counts," Boromir replies then asks," Are you able to recount what happened here?"

Faramir looks at his brother, "Some evil creatures attacked us." The young ranger was worried for a reason but Aragorn could only agree with Boromir that it is not Faramir's fault.

He leaves his boat, afterwards helps Frodo and Sam out of it and declares," Let's be prepared for them."

These preparations were arranged in less time. Merry, Pippin, Sam and most important Frodo were hiding behind a spot, thought to be defended easily. Aragorn and Gimli would wile the attackers away of the hobbits. Legolas would not be far away, would surprise the enemies from behind. Boromir stayed with the hobbits. Faramir was instructed to scout for their arrival. The younger one actioned his request but Aragorn did not miss the unease in the eyes of the young man. "Can't wait to let them feel my axe," Gimli declares with a smile on his face. Aragorn met, not once, a dwarf who does not enjoy fighting, Gimli was no exception.

"Before that they will feel my arrows," Legolas makes out.

"T'is voice does not speak the truth," Gimli replies. Aragorn could only chuckle about his two friends. At first, they avoided each other but now they never stopped teasing. In the end they would be more inseparable than Merry and Pippin. Then an arrow hit the trunk next to him, the arranged signal. Faramir will lead the attackers near the spot where Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas waited. He draws Andruil, Gimli his axe and Legolas cocks his bow. Not a single enemy arrived that could only mean that their plan doesn't prove to be successful. Aragorn runs back to the place where they left the hobbits and Boromir. It was crowded with enemies. The two brothers fought side-by-side, making it harder for their foes to prevail but the opponent has superior forces. This sight alone looks desperate but it seems that Frodo was missing. Saruman's forces destroyed the hideout in no time. Something was different, these were no orcs. He made an attempt to rush to aid his friends but another wave of foes stopped him.

Suddenly, the enemies withdraw. An horrific view opens up in front of him. Faramir lays motionless on the ground, arrow in the chest. Boromir hunched over the shape that was his brother. Aragorn hurried over to his friends. He inspects the wound of the younger one. This was not the time to ask a question but Aragorn was very worried about the hobbits. "Frodo left the hideout shortly before the enemy reached us, Sam followed. Merry and Pippin were captured. I wasn't able to prevent it," Boromir informs him voice shaking. The older one fondly caresses Faramir's forehead and adds, "He received the arrow that was aimed at me." Then, his voice fails Boromir completely and the Captain General fell silent. Faramir looked worse but Aragorn is eagerly to do anything in his power to help the younger one.

"We must remove the arrow first," he declares. Legolas and Gimli came to aid him. Elessar pulls the arrow out with the help of his knife. Meanwhile, Legolas prepared the athelas and a bandage. With the help of Gimli and Boromir they strip the upper body of Faramir. Then Aragorn applies the athelas on the wound and bind it up. Once done, they dressed Faramir again to keep him warm. Boromir carries his brother to a nearby tree, sat down and adjust his little brother in his arms. The older one, still speechless nods his thanks and offered them a smile. Then Boromir closes his eyes, returning to caress Faramir's forehead.

"Will ho ech- ha?" Legolas asks him, concern in his voice.

"Hon haru na- severe. Im estel ha with all nin emel i Faramir will dorth- with ammen," he replies the same concern in his voice.

"What now?" Gimli asks the very question Aragorn already thought about. "We can't leave them here alone but the little ones need us as well," the dwarf adds. Aragorn regards the two brothers.

Slowly, he made his way to them. He kneels down in front of Boromir and lay a hand on the shoulder of the older one. "Faramir needs proper treatment, more I am able to give. It may be better for the two of you to return to Minas Tirith," he states.

Boromir nods and replies, "Gondor's forces do not patrol here at Amon Hen."

Aragorn's eyes found the still figure of Faramir. "Then there is no time to call them because we do not know when they will arrive. They could be miles away. Time would pass, a time he has not left," Elessar declares. Returning his gaze to Boromir, the plea to save his brother was visible in the older one's eyes. "Faramir received a stone as parting gift. This stone could help to heal the wounds," he says, voicing what came to his mind in this very moment. Boromir searches Faramir's pockets and found it. The Captain General places it in the palm of the younger one.

"I could carry him. I see no other way than to take him along," Boromir states.

Aragorn nods and promises," He is strong. He will make it. We will treat his wound on the way,"

The eyes of the older one found his, a faint smile on his face, Boromir replies, "You will be one of Gondor's fairest men. I won't leave your side, my king." Elessar returns the smile. He left Boromir to inform Legolas and Gimli about the next steps. The must continue their journey, carrying Faramir along.

Isildur's Bane

This time Faramir is... not in the condition to write an entry. I found his diary in an attempt to lift him up to carry him during the next part of this journey. I never was good at writing. Still, I decided to write a short entry. Faramir, little brother, do me a favour and come back to me.

Boromir

Conversation between Aragorn and Legolas: L: Will he make it? A: His wound is severe. I hope it with all my heart that Faramir will stay with us.

It may wasn´t the best idea to carry Faramir along but I refused to steal an idea of an amazing story I read. Unfortunately, I couldn´t find it anymore but it is the story "Boromir´s last journey home." In there, Boromir survived and sailed with Gimli back to Ithilien. Would have been an idea here as well but I am not the person to steal someone´s well-thought content. Should you wonder if Faramir will survive… I can´t stand bad endings and this story is found in "Adventure" and "Family", not "Drama" or "Hurt", so yes… He will awake but it will take some days. I also weren´t able to let Boromir die. I promised just that in the description of this story… and I keep my promises. I do hope you like the way this story will continue and you´ll read along. Stay tuned for the chapters to come.
