Elsewhere in space, a lone spacecraft finds itself caught in the middle of the crossfire of several enemy ships firing at it. Aboard the spacecraft is Hasty, who is piloting the craft, Crunch and Koala Kong, who are operating the control panels and switches, Spyro the Dragon, who is busy searching for the craft's weapon bay, and King Chicken, who is casually wandering about, minding his own business like an ordinary chicken would.
Suddenly, one of the lasers hits the spacecraft, causing them to swerve out of control. Hasty grunts, turns to the rest of the crew and says, "Guys! How are we doing on the weapons system?"
"No good!" Crunch tells him. "We're completely offline!"
"What?!" Hasty exclaims.
"In fact, we don't have any weapons of any sort!" Crunch exclaims.
Spyro groans and says, "Whose idea was it to pick this unarmed spacecraft in the first place?"
"Well, don't look at me." Hasty tells Spyro. "This chicken wandered aboard and we just happened to follow it in to catch it right before takeoff!"
While they're busy bickering, a tractor beam hits their ship, getting their attention. The crew looks out and sees a massive mothership using the tractor beam to pull them onto the ship.
"I have a bad feeling about this." Hasty whimpers as they are pulled into the mothership.
Inside the mothership, the crew is lead into the main control room, where an evil Space Overlord, a creature with bug eyes, wolf arms and legs, a gorilla's head and the body of a dragon, has poor Megumi tight in his grasp, who is whimpering and squirming to get free.
"Welcome, my prisoners!" The Space Overlord says to the crew. "Have you come to attend the wedding of me and your blue-haired cinnamon roll here?"
"Guys, help!" Megumi cries out with fear. "He's hurting me!"
"Let her go, you freak!" Spyro shouts.
"Don't make us wail on you, buddy!" Crunch shouts while Koala Kong growls in agreement.
"Just wait 'till the reinforcements arrive!" Hasty exclaims. "You're gonna be sorry, pal!"
"Oh, am I?" The Space Overlord chuckles as Megumi continues to whimper. "I'd like to see that happen!" He laughs evilly before he hears the sound of faint rumbling, getting his attention.
A door nearby is blasted open, throwing a pair of guards across the room. Into the room barges Ami, Liz and Isabella, dressed up in their Motorsport outfits, which are now fully weaponized. The three of them approach the Space Overlord, where Liz says to him, "Now, if you don't mind, we'll be taking our friend here and going home."
The Space Overlord laughs and says to the girls, "Sorry, ladies! I'm afraid your little party posse won't be saving your cute and cuddly friend today! In fact, you three can be her bridesmaids at our wedding!"
"No one's getting married on my watch!" a voice cries out, getting the Space Overlord's attention. Suddenly, the entire room goes dark as the hatch doors above them swing open.
"Oh, you're dead now buddy." Ami cheekily tells him. "Our leader Tawna is about to set you straight."
A shadowy figure drops down into the room from above. As the lights in the room come on, everyone is surprised with what they see: not Tawna, but Komodo Joe in a very crummy makeshift Motorsport getup, wielding toy squirt guns instead of actual rayguns.
The Space Overlord, confused, asks, "Joe? What are you doing here?"
Suddenly, a voice cries out, "CUT!" getting their attention.
As it turns out, the entire space crew wasn't even in outer space to begin with. Von Clutch has gathered them all and brought them to the abandoned site of his amusement park, Von Clutch's Motorworld, to shoot a science-fiction movie in the Astro Land section of his park. Von Clutch serves as the producer, writer and director. Pasadena O'Possum serves as Von Clutch's personal assistant. Yaya Panda is busy operating a giant holographic artificial reality display, making the space fantasy set a reality. A pair of park drones operate the cameras. A pair of Lab Assistants operate the boom mike and the A/V control panel.
Von Clutch leaps out of his director chair, storms up to Komodo Joe and continues to shout, "Cut! Cut! CUT! Joe! What's ze meaning of zis? Where's mein star Tawna?"
"Well, Tawna'ssss not here." Komodo Joe tells him.
"What?!" Von Clutch exclaims with surprise. "Well, where is she?"
"Not sure." Komodo Joe replies, chuckling nervously. "However, since she's not here, I figured I could fill in for her!"
Von Clutch face palms and cries out, "Oh, for ze love of... Strike ze set!"
Yaya, upon hearing this, pulls a lever on her control panel, turning off the A.R. display, revealing that all the props and costumes the actors were wearing were not really there, and that they were in their normal attire the whole time. Likewise, the Space Emperor is revealed to be Komodo Moe.
Komodo Moe, scratching the back of his neck, turns to Megumi and tells her with remorse, "Uh, pleassse forgive me for manhandling you like that, Msss. Megumi..."
"No worries!" Megumi tells him with a smile. "I know you only did it for the movie. No need to keep apologizing every time we finish a take."
"What a series of events zis has been!" Von Clutch grumbles to himself while Pasadena tries to calm him down. "Every time we try to shoot zis one scene, something has always gone wrong! First, ze hatch doors wouldn't open properly, then ze holographic effect system encounters a malfunction, und NOW our leading lady is nowhere to be found!"
"Easy there, Ol' V.C." Pasadena says to Von Clutch. "I'm sure that we'll get this scene figured out eventually."
"I really hope so, Pasadena." Von Clutch says. "But it's more than just ze scene or zis film I'm worried about. You see..."
Suddenly, before Von Clutch can continue his conversation with Pasadena, a familiar voice calls out, "Von Clutch! Are you in here?" getting everyone's attention.
Into the room enters Coco, Crash's younger teenage sister, who is looking for Von Clutch. "Von Clutch? You had something you wanted to tell me?" she asks as she enters the room.
"Coco, dear!" Isabella exclaims with joy as she runs up to Coco and gives her a big hug. "You made it! Though you just barely missed the shoot, though..."
"Hi, Isabella!" Coco says with glee. "Say, have any of you seen..."
"Ah, Coco!" Von Clutch exclaims, getting Coco's attention as he walks up to her. "Glad you could come! We have a serious crisis on our hands!"
"Why? What's wrong, V.C.?" Coco asks him.
"Why must we keep having problems with zis one scene we're shooting?" Von Clutch grumbles to himself as he glances at a clipboard Pasadena handed him.
"Seriously? That's why you called me over here?" Coco asks, dumbfounded. "You called me over because you needed help with shooting your movie?"
"What?" Von Clutch asks, confused. "No, no, no. That's not why I called you over here. Though I do have one question about zis scene that perhaps you could answer for me."
"What?" Coco asks, puzzled. "What is it, V.C.?"
"Where is mein star, Tawna?" Von Clutch asks her, annoyed. "She was supposed to be here!"
"Tawna...? Oh! Of course! Tawna!" Coco exclaims. "Listen, V.C. don't get mad when I tell you this, but she wanted me to tell you that she took the day off to have an all-day date with Crash."
"An all-day date?" Von Clutch asks, surprised.
"You know, for Valentine's Day?" Coco says to him, dumbfounded.
Isabella gasps with glee and says to the Nitro Squad, "Valentine's Day!"
"I totally forgot that was today, girls!" Ami says with excitement.
"Well, she could've given me some kind of advance notice about that!" Von Clutch says, annoyed as Coco, Isabella and Pasadena approach the Squad while the men watch. Megumi approaches Von Clutch and tries to calm him down.
"So, do you lovely ladies have any special plans for tonight?" Coco asks the group.
"Well, Coco, sweetie, me and my main moose Hasty are off to the movies tonight!" Isabella says to Coco as she wraps her arm around Hasty.
"Me and that lovely Crash look-alike are off to a monster truck rally!" Pasadena says to Coco. "Crunch gave him the idea the other day!"
"Really?" Coco asks, surprised as she turns to Crunch. "I thought monster truck rallies were more for you and Ami, Crunch."
"Nah. They usually are, but tonight, I've got something special planned for my special tomboy here!" Crunch says as Ami giggles.
Coco turns to Liz and says, "And what about you, Liz? Have you found someone to spend Valentine's Day with?"
Liz, taken aback by Coco's question, can only stutter, "Well, I... I, uh..."
This scene gets the attention of Koala Kong, who, unbeknownst to Liz, has developed feelings for her in secret. As Liz continues to stutter, Koala Kong feels the need to fill her empty void and be her Valentine's date, but cannot find the courage to say anything to her. Knowing this, he steps back with a look of sorrow on his face.
"Hey, it's okay, Liz." Spyro reassures her as Coco rests her hand on her back. "You'll find someone soon, I know it."
"You sure?" Liz asks.
"Hey, I'm one hundred percent sure that you will find your significant other real soon!" Spyro gleefully says.
"If you say so..." Liz tells him as she sulks.
Coco, feeling bad for Liz, prepares to say something to her, before Yaya Panda, not wanting to upset Liz anymore, approaches Coco and asks her, "So, Coco, are you looking forward to the next Grand Prix season?"
Upon hearing Yaya's words, Von Clutch's face immediately lights up with surprise as he directs his attention to the girls.
"Of course, I am!" Coco exclaims. "But we still have to decide on a good theme for this, our eighth season."
"Well, what haven't we done?" Ami asks. "I know we based our last season around that terrible post-apocalyptic disaster we all had to endure."
"Sure glad we don't have to go through something like that again!" Crunch exclaims.
"Yeah." Ami says. "I mean, can you imagine if we suddenly found ourselves going on an outer space adventure based on this movie Von Clutch is shooting?"
Hasty chuckles and says, "Yeah, that would be insane. Right, Coco?"
"Yeah, it sure would." Coco says to him as Von Clutch quickly approaches her.
"Ah, yes." Von Clutch says as he wraps his arm around Coco's shoulder. "Coco, mein lieber Freund, I'm actually glad you und your friends mentioned ze Grand Prix because I would like to have a private word with you about it in mein office. Do you mind?"
Coco, puzzled with Von Clutch's sudden uptight behavior, says to him, "Uh... Yeah. Sure..."
As Von Clutch quickly leads Coco out of Astro Land and to his office, he turns to everyone and says, "Okay, that's a wrap for today! See you all tomorrow!"
"See y'all later!" Pasadena exclaims as she and Yaya Panda follow Coco and Von Clutch out the door. As everyone prepares to leave, Spyro sits there, dumbfounded and puzzled with the way Von Clutch just acted.
"Hmm, why would he act so uptight about the next Grand Prix season?" Spyro thinks to himself. "I wonder..."
"Is something wrong, Spyro?" Megumi asks, getting his attention.
Spyro thinks for a minute before telling the rest of the group, "Look, you all go ahead and go on your dates. I gotta get to Dragon Shores! Don't want to keep Elora waiting!"
"Sure thing, Spyro!" Isabella exclaims as Spyro heads to the door. "Come along, Hasty! We don't want to be late for our movie!"
"Coming, my dear!" Hasty says as he approaches Isabella and wraps his arm around hers. "The Nitro Sleigh's parked right outside! I'll get us to the theater before the first preview starts!"
As Spyro leaves, Isabella calls out to him, "Tell Crash we said hi!"
"Will do! See you, guys!" Spyro calls back.
Outside Astro Land, Spyro looks around and sees Von Clutch leading Coco to his office. "Now to find out what Ol' Von Clutch has to say about the next Grand Prix season, and then it's off to Dragon Shores." Spyro thinks to himself as he flies over to Von Clutch's office, unnoticed.
Back in Astro Land, as Ami watches Isabella and Hasty leave in his Nitro Sleigh, Crunch playfully approaches her and asks, "Oh, Ami... Who's up for a rock concert tonight?"
As Crunch presents her with two tickets to a rock concert, Ami squeals and exclaims, "You bet I am! And hey, maybe I can do a stage dive like I always do! What do you say?"
"Uh, maybe not this time, Ami." Crunch says with slight concern. "Remember what happened the last time you acted on impulse and did a stage dive?"
Ami thinks for a minute, before remembering something and telling Crunch, "Oh... yeah. Guess nobody wanted to see me strip down and dress up in lederhosen before jumping... Just goes to show that drinking alcohol and energy drinks at the same time is never a good idea..."
"Especially when you landed on those cops and they had to escort us home." Crunch says to her.
As Ami cringes at remembering that event, Crunch rests his hand on her shoulder and calmly says to her, "Ami, have you ever considered the notion of not being so impulsive all the time?"
"What do you mean?" Ami asks, confused. "You don't like my excitable, energetic attitude?"
"No, no!" Crunch exclaims with surprise. "I'm not saying that I don't like your excitable, tomboyish nature, not at all! I love it just as much as I love you. I just feel like one day, your impulsiveness could get us all into big trouble. I just want you to start thinking about things before you act on them. Can you do that for me? Please?"
Ami sighs and warmly tells Crunch, "Well, for you, Crunch, I'll try." She smiles at him warmly and gives him a kiss.
"Atta girl!" Crunch exclaims as he wraps his arm around hers. "Now, how 'bout that concert?"
"Works for me!" Ami exclaims as the two of them head out the door. "See you at the house, Meggy!"
"Bye, guys!" Megumi happily says as the two of them leave. She happily smiles before hearing quiet crying behind her, getting her attention. She spins around and sees Liz sitting on a wooden crate quietly crying to herself. "Lizzie, you okay?" she asks.
Liz, looking up and seeing Megumi's concerned face, wipes away her tears and pretends to be okay, telling her, "No, no. I'm ace, mate. Everything's the bee's knees!"
"You're upset about Valentine's, aren't you?" Megumi calmly says as she holds her hand out to her.
Liz sighs, grabs her hand and as Megumi helps her up, says, "Blimey, Megumi. You're always able to see right through me."
"So, what's wrong, Liz?" Megumi asks.
Liz, stroking her arm, tells her, "I just wish I could get a date for Valentine's Day... I hate being alone all the time."
"You're not alone!" Megumi happily tells her. "You have us!"
"I meant romantically alone, Megumi." Liz says, holding back tears.
"Oh. THAT kind of alone. Hmmm..." Megumi says as she starts to think for a minute. Suddenly, before Liz can start crying again, Megumi's face lights up as she takes her hand and tells her, "Hey, why don't we go down to the ice cream parlor near Crash's house? Ice cream always cheers you up!"
Liz sighs and says to Megumi, "I guess so."
The Komodo Brothers, who were busy cleaning up the set, watch as Megumi walks with Liz out to their car. Looking at each other with concern, they suddenly hear a dejected sigh from behind them. They turn around and see Koala Kong is every bit as upset as Liz is. Curious, they approach Koala Kong and attempt to comfort him.
"Koala Kong, what'sss wrong?" Komodo Joe asks.
"Don't you have a date for Valentine'sss?" Komodo Moe asks with concern.
Koala Kong, who is still learning how to speak properly, mumbles, "N-n-no... May... be... Liz... and I... could..."
"Wait a sssecond." Komodo Joe says to him. "Are you telling me that you have feelingsss for Lizzzz?"
"Y-y-yes..." Koala Kong replies.
"Well, why don't you jussst tell her how you feel?" Komodo Moe asks him. "She and Megumi haven't left yet."
"Can't." Koala Kong dejectedly says to the pair. "Still... learning... how... to... t-talk... properly... and... also a... minion... of... Cortex..."
"Ssso what if you're sssided with Dr. Cortex?" Komodo Moe asks him. "That shouldn't ssstop you from talking to her!"
"Yeah, what'sss the worssst that could happen anyway?" Komodo Joe says.
"My bro's right!" Komodo Moe exclaims. "Who knowsss? Maybe she might have feelingsss for you too! Go on! Talk to her!"
Having been motivated by the brothers' words, Koala Kong, with a look of pride and determination on his face, prepares to walk out the door to tell Liz how he feels, until moments later, the sound of a car taking off is heard. The three look out a nearby window to see Liz and Megumi driving out of the parking lot and to town, with Megumi happily waving bye to the three. Koala Kong sulks, knowing he missed his chance to express himself.
"Oh, well. We've got ssseveral more daysss of shooting ahead of usss, anyway." Komodo Joe says as he turns to Koala Kong. "You'll have plenty of time to tell her!"
As the brothers head out the door, Komodo Moe turns and says to Koala Kong, "See you tomorrow, K.K.!"
"See... you..." Koala Kong groans with sadness. Knowing he'll be alone on Valentine's Day, he sulks and sits down on a chair, which breaks under his weight. He sadly rests his face into his hands and quietly sobs as King Chicken watches with a blank stare on his face.
