On With the Story!
Blue sat on his bed; his arms crossed and head down as the light snores of the others and the soft voices below being the only noise he could hear. Blue had long ago given up trying to hear what the two shadows were saying; their voices just quiet enough to not be heard from him. Sighing, the hot headed Link lay back against the headboard of the bed, exhausted beyond belief, but couldn't get the image of Zelda out of his mind. Blue felt his face pale and saliva gather in his mouth as the image of her lifeless eyes staring at him came to vivid for his liking. Taking a deep breath, Blue pushed the nauseous feeling away as he shoved the thought out of his head.
"Stop thinking about it." He thought stubbornly, but still glanced around the room until he caught sight of trash pail over between the empty bed and Red's bed. Closing his eyes, Blue continued to take deep breaths until it had fully subsided. Hearing a shuffle in the room, Blue glanced over and watched Red gently shifting in his sleep, keeping his injured arm close to himself. Blue would have just thought nothing of it as the red clad hero curled in on himself, if the boy didn't hold a face of pain and fear. The hotheaded Link couldn't help but sadden at the sight of Red subconsciously moving away from Green in fear. He knew Red held nothing against the wolf Link, but he guess it didn't help with the subconscious fear the boy sill had. Sighing and looking away, Blue leaned back against the headboard, not planning on sleeping any time soon. Thinking over everything, one thought went through Blue's head;
"How long do we have?" This thought seemed to be his only focus, causing a strange feeling to his head. As the thought looped over and over, Blue suddenly felt the familiar sensation to his blind eye as a vision swarmed him;
He stood there, at the gates of Castle Town, the sun long set. Blue walked though and looked around; the entire place was disserted, like as if everyone had evacuated.
"Or something worse happened.." Blue thought in fear. Feeling a weird wave of magic, Blue looked up towards Hyrule Castle, and his eyes widened at the sight;
The full moon was turning red, and creating a skull's face on it. Blue felt sudden fear spike through him as the whole sky turned blood red, and every shadow around him groaned as shadowlings started crawling out of them. Blue took a step away from the nearest shadow as one of those things crawled out of it. Looking back up to the castle, Blue could see a huge figure rising from one of the towers destroying it and causing the whole Castle Town to rumble from it. Before he could do anything else but watch, figure turned its head to him, and let out a wild, savage roar. Blue jolted forward with a gasp, quickly looking around and found himself back in Erune's house. Remembering what just happened, Blue was ready to run out of the room as he stood from the bed when a sudden thought stopped him;
Did he just consciously cause a vision?!
"Ok, how did I do that?" Blue couldn't help but ask out loud as he realized he did just that. Thinking back to what happened, Blue tried something. Sitting back down on the bed Blue starred straight ahead and cleared his mind and had one thought in his mind;
"What are Shadow and Shelda doing?" he kept repeating this thought over and over the feeling from before came back. Focusing on it more, Blue felt the feeling in his eye again, and the world around him closed off once again.
Blue found himself in the kitchen downstairs, with Shadow and Shelda sitting at the table, both slowing eating a loaf of bread as they were in the middle of a conversation.
"I'm just saying; this doesn't sound right. In some ways it sounds like them, but on the other hand…" Shelda said, trailing off again as she took a tiny piece in her mouth.
"I know," Shadow agreed, "but we can't just think that they won't try something so left field like that. If we're going to infiltrate that place, we're going to need to prepare for anything."
"This is so weird and cool at the same time." Blue couldn't help but think as the vision faded away and he found himself back upstairs. Actually giddy with this new discovery, Blue was ready to try something else when a wet feeling was felt on his right cheek. Touching the wetness, Blue pulled his hand back to reveal red on his fingertips.
"I guess I can't do it to constantly.." Blue mumbled as he got up; walking out the door, knowing the two downstairs would like to know about this.
"Besides," Blue thought, "I could go for some bread." Walking into the kitchen, he was immediately spotted by the two, Shadow raising an eyebrow at him as he approached and said,
"I thought you were going to relax upstairs?" Blue noticed how it was more of a suggestion then a question, but choose not to point it out. Instead, Blue shrugged his shoulders and sat down, grabbing a loaf of bread, Shelda being the one to notice his eye.
"Blue, Your eye is bleeding again." She said in a knowing way, causing Blue to smirk as he answered simply,
"Yeah, I figured out how to use the whole "seeing" thing and might have used it too many times right after having such a big one before." Blue couldn't hold back the smile as he could tell the two weren't fully listening at first as they both just simply nodded, but the words finally caught up to them and Shadow was the first to speak;
"Wait repeat that?!" Blue chuckled as he retorted
"I think you need another nap Shadow." Said shadow huffed in annoyance and simply waited for Blue to repeat himself. Shrugging his shoulders, Blue explained,
"Apparently, I can control my visions. I think I was always doing it subconsciously this whole time, and never noticed it."
"But how did you figure this out?" Shelda asked, grabbing a cloth and handing it to Blue, who took it to wipe the blood off his cheek as he explained.
"Well, I wasn't able to sleep, let alone relax, so I was thinking about my vision, and couldn't help but think how long we have till that gate thingy-"
"The Dark Gate." Both Shadow and Shelda corrected deadpanned.
"Yeah, whatever." Blue said, waving them off. "Anyways, I was thinking about that, next thing I know, I'm getting this weird feeling in my head, and next thing I know, I'm having another vision, which I'll tell you two in a minute, but when it was done, I experimented and that's how I learned I can control it. As long as I focus enough, I guess I can see anything in the past, present, or future."
"That's dangerous power for you to have." Shadow mumbled to him, causing Shelda to slap him on the head and turn back to Blue.
"What about this vision you had?" Blue's smile dropped as he thought back on the vision, now actually thinking about it.
"I witnessed the Dark Gate opening and Ganon being resurrected." He said thoughtfully as another fact stood out;
"The one thing about it though, I actually think it wasn't Ganon." Meeting the shadowlings eyes, he answered their unanswered question;
"I believe it was Ganondorf." Blue watched as Shadow's eyes widen and a look of 'we're fucked' cross his face. Shelda, however;
"Who's that?" she asked confusingly. Blue watched as Shadow turned to her and explained,
"Ganondorf is the King of Darkness."
"I thought that was Ganon?" Asked Shelda confused "Are they the same person?"
"Yes and no." Shadow answered. "Ganon is… you could say Ganondorf's dark side." Shadow explained hesitantly "When Ganondorf got possession of the Triforce of Power-"
"Wait, he has the Triforce of Power?!" Interrupted Shelda, "Why?!" Blue, not really wanting to listen to this, grabbed another loaf of bread and got up, walking away, until he remembered something important.
"Hey guys?" Blue asked, turning back around to get their attention. When he did receive it, Blue asked in a confused tone,
"Is it significant for the moon to turn red and have a skull face on it for the Dark Gate to open?" Both shadowlings shared a look before Shelda answered in an uncertain voice,
"I think so? But if they cast it that way, they'd have to have the blood and body of the seven mage descendants and a full moon." Shelda's tone and posture became thoughtful as she spoke aloud,
"Of course, that could explain how if it were to happen, why Ganondorf would be resurrected. That form of the spell is much stronger. I read somewhere a mage once almost succeeded in fusing the Light Realm and Dark Realm by using that spell. That might be why nothing has happened yet."
"If that's the case," Shadow said to them, glancing from Blue to Shelda as he spoke,
"Then if we can find one of these descendants, we could prevent them from even casting the spell."
"It won't be that simple Shadow." Blue said, "Some of the descendants are not the most holy people. I heard one of the youngest ones has about twelve kids. They want their bloodlines to stay, which means their not just gonna have just one kid and leave it at that. And we can not deal with more than one kid with the condition some of us are in." Blue added when Shadow opened his mouth to say something, but then closed it after Blue was finished talking. After a moment of silence with the two shadowlings thinking, Blue finally got bored of standing there, and said to the two as he walked away;
"Well, let me know if you think about something. I'm going back upstairs to eat." With a wave behind him, Blue headed back upstairs. Sitting on his bed, Blue took a bite of his bread before looking out the window, his mind blank as he couldn't help but think back to his vision as he tried to decrypt goddess Din's words as those around him slept on.
)*()*()*(
He couldn't help but awake with a small gasp, a shiver of terror running through him as he stared up at the ceiling. The night was peaceful and quiet, save for the sound of crickets and the occasional owl. Looking around, Vio couldn't help but sigh in relief at the sight of Erune's attic; meaning that the last day or two (or three?) wasn't a dream. Taking his hands and bracing them on either side of him, Vio braced himself as he pushed himself up into a sitting position. Gasping and huffing, Vio plopped back against the headboard, his arms weak and burning with pain as he sat there. Grimacing, Vio looked down to see the many bandages wrapped around his arms and torso. It was at that moment when Vio realized that he was shirtless, and after feeling under the sheets, all his injuries were bandaged. Including the ones in areas that would have resulted in him losing more then a shirt. Feeling his face heat up at this thought, Vio quickly pushed the thought away, and looked around the room instead. Red and Green were still asleep, but Red had decided to lie on his good side, curled up around his pillow. Vio felt like he should know why the red clad boy was doing this, but his mind seemed fogged, and just couldn't grasp it. Looking to the bed in front of him, Vio had to prevent himself from laughing at the sight;
Apparently Blue fell asleep propped by the headboard, a half eaten loaf of bread in his limp hand, softly snoring in contentment. That wasn't the only the thing about it, however; Shadow deemed this a nice sleeping spot, because said shadowling was there beside Blue, snoring as well, and half off the bed. Vio couldn't help but snort loudly at the sight, it making his week. At his sound, however, Shadow seemed to wake up in a cold sweat and jolt up. A yelp of surprise and pain escaped the dark Link's lips as he fell off the bed with a 'THUMP'. Vio couldn't help but snort again, but due to his still weak lungs, caused him to let out a few deep, pained coughs. Shadow must have snapped out of his half-asleep state, because between coughs, Vio saw the purpled hair boy's head pop up from behind the foot board. Vio met his eyes as his coughing seized, giving a sheepish smile to the shadowling.
"Vio?" Shadow asked finally, an unfamiliar look in his eyes to the purple clad boy. Still having a sheepish smile, Vio spoke quietly in response,
"Sorry I woke you." Vio watched as Shadow picked himself up before walking over to him, sitting on the side of the bed, and saying in a whisper;
"How are you feeling?" Vio couldn't help but snort before replying;
"Like hell." Vio couldn't help but stare at Shadow, feeling like he was dreaming at seeing the boy sitting in front of him.
"Dude, stop that. You're creeping me out." Shadow said quietly, snapping Vio out of his thoughts. Rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly, Vio apologized to the purple haired boy.
"Sorry. It's still weird seeing you. Last time I did was back in the Tower of Winds a.." Vio trailed off as he realized something. Exactly how long ago did they defeat Vaati?! Furrowing his eyebrows in confusion, Vio looked at Shadow and asked,
"How long has it been? The days of my recent revisit to the Tower of Winds all kinda blend together, so I'm actually not sure how long I was there." The purple-clad boy watched as Shadow turned nervous, rubbing the back of his neck and looking anywhere but Vio.
"Well.. um.. I might have to recount them, but.. um.. it might have been around… two weeks?" The last words were more of a nervous answer then a question, confirming that Shadow didn't in fact need to think it over. Vio was silent at this realization. Had he really been there for almost Two weeks?! That would explain the almost healed wounds he had. Swallowing the bile that dare rise at the reminder of how he got hurt, Vio met Shadow's crimson eyes.
"What did I miss?" Vio asked, feeling like this is nothing like before. He watched as Shadow sighed, rubbing his face as the shadowling mumbled to himself;
"Where do I even start?" Patiently, Vio waited for Shadow to start, and listened intently as the boy quietly told the adventure so far, answering any questions Vio asked in a hush whisper. Their hushed voices carrying on until the early morning.
Nether aware of the mental trauma one of the Links was facing.
Where am I?
The stone walls dark in the twilight
What's happening?
He ran down many corridors, red velvet rugs in ruins underneath him.
Where are they?
Running up the stairs, the boy could hear the clash of swords at the top.
Where am I?
The top of the tower drawing near as an evil laughter boomed though the place.
Don't let it…
The boy reached the top, right as the scene in front of him went into slow motion for him to see it all clearly.
..No..
A figure pushed away by a parried attack, their sword flying out of their hand as wounds littered their body.
..Please..
The other grinning in malice as sword reflected the setting sun's light.
Not him.
The first figure defenseless against the coming attack.
Any one but him!
Both their eyes going wide as the attack reached its target; one in horror, the other in glee.
Why?!
Blood shot from their chest as the sword pierced the body.
Why can't I move?!
The tip of the sword soon emerged from his back, more blood coming from it.
Why can't I stop this?
The second figure had a face of evil glee at the sight of blood escaping the first's lips.
Why was he alone?
The sword pierced a lung, but it still didn't grant a quick escape.
…
The sword was pulled out in normal pace, but the rest went back to a sluggish pace.
So much blood…
The second figure stepped back as they watched the first fall to their knees.
Can someone survive losing that much blood?
Blood pooled at their feet, coating the once beautiful stone around them.
..No..
A scream rang out in anguish and echoed across the sky.
Was that me?
Both figures looked over to him.
No…
Once had a look of pure enjoyment at the sight.
…No…!
The other…
No!
Carried a look of calm happiness as their eyes met.
Why you!?
The blood stained lips moved as if to say something;
Nonononnono
But no sound came.
Please no!
Their eyes seemed to dull as their body swayed in spot.
No!
Their eyes did not close as their eyes finally faded.
….please…
Their body hit the floor hard, the puddle of blood staining their hair, skin, and more of their clothes.
.. no…
The chest that shook with every breath stopped.
...
Their body turned a grayish paleness.
…
Laughter boomed once again as he couldn't stop looking at the now corpse in front of him.
…
His cheeks were soaked with his tears.
…
Blood stained the stone.
Blood stained their clothes
Blood stained their hair
Blood stained their skin
The dark crimson covering his hands.
His blank blue eyes staring up at the fading twilight sky.
… no.. no.. no.. No.. No.!. No!.. NO!..-
"NOO!" Blue screamed at the top of his lungs, lurching forward as his body finally responded to his request. The blue clad boy felt tears flowing down his cheeks and his heart hammering against his ribcage as his lungs screamed at him for more air.
The sword pierced a lung, but it still didn't grant a quick escape.
Blue choked on air at the thought of his dream came back to him. He couldn't help but hyperventilate as it continued to run though his head, never pausing. Voices faded in and out of his senses as he lost himself to the dream. Blue was sure he would pass out from lack of air as black clouded his unfocused vision. However, right as he was sure he would, he gasped at the feeling of hands grasping his biceps, a voice suddenly reaching him.
"Blue! You gotta breath!" Shadow. He could easily identify his voice. Looking up at him, Blue could see the panic in those crimson eyes of his.-
The dark crimson covering his hands.
His sob hitched at the thought.
Wait..
Sob? Had he been crying? It would explain-
"Blue! Listen to me!" Shadow snapped at him, shaking his arms a bit to snap him out of his descend back into his own mind. It worked, as Blue tried to inhale. However, it just caused the boy to let out another heart reaching sob. Blue watched while at the same time not as Shadow's expression soften a bit as he grabbed one of Blue's hands, and gently placed it on his chest.
"Breathe with me Blue." He heard Shadow say to him. He tried, but every time he inhaled, it drew a hitch in his breathing, causing him to fall back to his gasping breathing. Shadow was patient, however, and calmly talked and soothed the blue clad boy. Even though Blue could see small dark rings under Shadow's eyes; indicating he hadn't slept that night, the purple haired boy took his time to gently calm Blue. After what felt like years to Blue, but was only maybe ten minutes, the blue Link could feel his breathing deepen. Finally closing his bloodshot eyes, Blue carefully took deeper and deeper breathes, feeling his heart calm more and more with each one he took. After a bit, Blue was no longer hyperventilating, his heart was no longer pounding like a rabbit, and the tears had slowed to just a few still in his eyes. Gently reaching up, Blue took his hand and gingerly wiped the tears away before opening his eyes and looking up. It was early dawn, and Shadow was on the bed kneeling in front of him, sill gently holding one hand to his chest. Blue noted that his hair was bedridden, his eyes tired, and he was still in his sleep wear. Blue watched as crimson met blue, and a small, comforting smile graced the pale boy's face.
Their body turned a grayish paleness.
Blue pushed the thought away as Shadow's voice reached his ears;
"Hey, you ok?" Blue wasn't sure how to answer that, and just silently turned and looked at the rest of the room.
There everyone stood a pace or two away from the bed, all their eyes filled with worry as he looked at each one. Once his eyes met one pair, however, he couldn't help the sight that flashed in his mind.
His blank blue eyes staring up at the fading twilight sky.
Quickly looking away, Blue banished the thought as his heart raced once again. Feeling more tears build up in his eye, Blue quickly wiped them away, but once he did, he paused. They didn't feel watery like tears. Pulling his hand away from his face, Blue looked down at his hand, only for his heart to skip a beat at the sight;
Blood smeared his fingers.
Blue could feel his heartbeat quicken and his breathing pick up once again as the realization dawned on him;
"That wasn't a dream. That was a vision."
"Blue?" Someone's voice called out to him, but he couldn't place the person behind it anymore.
All Blue could think was about his vision as the black consumed his sight, a form of a shout somewhere close by before he felt his body go limp. The last feeling Blue had was falling against something firm and warm as a final thought filled his mind;
"Is there anyway to stop it?"
…
Yeeaahh… I was thinking of cutting it off sooner, but I kinda wanted to leave it there..
I'm truthfully not meaning to leave it on cliffhangers, I swear! I just find these as good spots to stop and have a good pov change in the next chapter.
I am going to post sooner that before! I promise! I just had a very… rough you could say, start of the year. I'm still trying to get everything back on track, but I don't know if I fully can. I deeply apologize for leaving you guys hanging. If you'd like to PM me to make sure I'm still alive, don't be afraid to! I'd be happy to talk to you guys!
And with that, I bid you all Good night/Morning!
TELLER OUT!
