Once the bandicoots finish their group hug, Tawna, thinking to herself for a minute over how bored they have been since they started their journey, gets an idea and says to the group, "You know what we all need? We all need to lighten up!"
"Yeah, good thinking, Tawna!" Isabella happily says to Tawna, "This journey has gotten us all so tense, we need to find something to help lighten the mood."
"Yeah, Isabella's right!" Coco exclaims. "Who's got any ideas on what we can do for leisurely fun?"
Everyone, sans Cortex, begins to ponder on what leisurely activity they can partake in.
Suddenly, Liz's face lights up as she gets an idea, telling the group, "I know! What do you say we play a board game to pass the time?"
"Ooh, great idea!" Isabella exclaims before turning to Brio and asking him, "Brio, why don't you go over to the closet and see what sort of board games we got on here."
"Can do, Isabella!" Brio exclaims as he approaches a nearby closet with a label reading, '"FUN" STUFF.' He opens the door and looks over a pile of board games tucked away inside.
As he looks at the pile, Brio mutters to himself, "Let's see... there's Bandicoot Trap..."
"Ugh, no thanks." Ami groans in disgust and annoyance.
"Okay..." Brio says to himself, tossing said game aside and pulling out another one from the closet. "There's Don't Let the Bandicoots Live..."
"What?" Tawna exclaims as she and the other bandicoots cringe in disgust. "Ew!"
"Not doing that one." Brio says as he tosses that game aside and continues to look. "Bandicoot Stew... Crush the Cold Hard Crash... Mr. and Mrs. Bandicoot and Mr. Happy-Go-Lucky Nuclear Missile—" Finally, upon realizing all of Cortex's board games involve violence against Crash and friends, Brio turns to Cortex and asks him in annoyance, "Okay, Cortex, do all of your board games have to involve bringing harm to innocent bandicoots?"
"Well, they're certainly more fun than something like Happy-Go-Lucky Duck Pond." Cortex snarks.
As Brio glances at Cortex with a look of annoyance, he closes the closet door and says, "Okay, board games are out of the question... None of them look the least bit enticing."
"Well, I guess you could say they're bored games!" Spyro happily jokes, followed by happy laughter, which the rest of the bandicoots and Brio join in on while Cortex looks on, annoyed.
As they continue to laugh, a small bright speck of light suddenly darts past them, getting their attention. As they stop laughing, King Chicken likewise darts past them, chasing after the speck as it zips around the control room. "What in the world?" Tawna ponders to herself as she sees King Chicken act so strangely.
"Kong, what's gotten into your chicken friend?" Coco asks Koala Kong.
"Uh..." Koala Kong mutters, trying to come with a reason as to why King Chicken's acting out of the ordinary.
"And what's that bright light he's chasing after?" Liz ponders as the speck gets closer to the group.
Suddenly, the bright speck of light comes to a stop in front of Megumi's face, where she discovers that it's none other than Sparx, Spyro's dragonfly companion who helps him out and looks out for him on his adventures.
"It's a space creature!" Megumi shrieks as she wraps her arms around Ami in fear, scaring Sparx away as King Chicken continues to chase after him. "Someone get rid of it, quick!"
"No! Calm down, Megumi!" Spyro reassures her. "That's no space creature. That's my dragonfly pal, Sparx."
"Well, what in the world is he doing here?" Ami asks as she prys Megumi off of her.
"Well, he wanted to come along and keep me company on our journey, but Kong's little chicken friend must've found him." Spyro tells her as he continues to watch King Chicken chase after Sparx, wanting to step in and quickly save him, but restraining himself because he doesn't want to bring harm to Koala Kong's emotional support pal.
As Sparx flies over the control panel, prompting King Chicken to leap atop it, Coco calls out as she races over to the panel, "Quick! Someone stop him before he eats Sparx!"
Unfortunately, King Chicken moves too quick for Coco to catch him as he continues to try and eat Sparx, who at this point has flown so high up that King Chicken couldn't possibly reach him.
King Chicken makes an attempt to fly up, but fails as unbeknownst to him, chickens cannot fly. Nonetheless, King Chicken continues to run back and forth across the control panel to try and find a way to get high enough to Sparx, unknowingly pressing several buttons and turning several knobs with his feet as he does so.
Among the many things that happen as he presses buttons and turns dials is that he turns on the ship's radio, which plays music from the 80's, and, perhaps more importantly, he accidentally turns off the gravity within the control room, causing everyone to float up and off the ground.
"Whoa!" Ami exclaims as she and the others are lifted off the floor. "Now what?!"
"Kong!" Isabella calls out to Kong. "Your chicken friend must've turned off the gravity in here!"
"Quick!" Coco exclaims as she grabs hold of the control panel. "Everyone grab hold of something!" Seeing what Coco is doing, Megumi, Liz, Koala Kong, N. Brio and Spyro just barely manage to grab hold of the control panel.
Isabella attempts to grab hold of the panel, but comes just short of it to where she cannot grab it. Luckily, Coco grabs hold of her foot and manages to safely pull her down before she can get too high up. She sighs in relief as she says to Coco, "Thank you, Coco dear. Thank you."
"Uh, guys? A little help?" Tawna calls out as she, Crash, Crunch and Ami float too far up to hold on to anything secure, as the control room is so massive. Likewise, King Chicken is now able to float up to the same height Sparx is at. Realizing this, he continues to chase Sparx around the room, but finds it hard to keep up with Sparx, who, even with the gravity turned off, is still faster than King Chicken.
Seeing that he's able to float above the boxes he was trapped behind, Cortex attempts to go after Coco, only for Koala Kong to stop him by pushing him down to the ground and securing his arms and legs to a nearby drain pipe with a rope so he can't float away. Once he's through with that, Kong gently floats back over to the control panel and grabs hold so he can't get too high up.
"Oh, wait'll Uka Uka hears about the way Kong's been acting..." Cortex angrily grumbles to himself.
"Well, this is just peachy." Crunch asks in annoyance, arms folded. "What'll we do now?"
"Guys, you know you can move about, right?" Coco calls out to them from down below. "Just float on down here!"
"Oh, right." Tawna mutters as she slaps her own forehead. "Must've had a brain fart there for a moment. Coming, Coco!"
However, before she can float down to the others, Tawna, realizing that something feels out of the ordinary on her person, looks down and sees that her hips are swaying to the music coming from the radio. Her face then lights up as she turns to Ami and asks, "Ami?" getting her attention.
"Yes, Tawna?" Ami asks as she turns to Tawna.
"I think I just found a way for us to lighten up." Tawna tells her. "You thinking what I'm thinking?"
"Oh..." Ami asks as she sees not only Tawna's hips moving to the music, but hers as well. "I am now. Come on." The two of the start to float over to Crash and Crunch.
As King Chicken continues to try and chase Sparx, he eventually gets low enough to where he's at arm's reach from the control panel, allowing Megumi to grab hold of one of his legs with her hand. "There! I gotcha!" she says as she brings King Chicken down and holds him underneath her arm.
"Great!" Crunch calls out. "You caught that chicken, now can you help us get down from here?"
"Sure thing, guys!" N. Brio says as he reaches for the gravity dial.
Before he can turn the dial, though, Tawna calls out, "Brio, wait!" getting his attention. "Don't turn off the gravity just yet!"
"What?" Brio asks in confusion. "Why?"
"Wait, Brio." Megumi tells him as she motions him to look up at the group above them. "Look."
"Man, I'd hate to be floating like this for the rest of the trip, right, Crash?" Crunch asks, prompting a nod from Crash.
"Hey, guys!" Tawna says to the pair, getting their attention. "Relax."
"Take your worries off your mind and let loose with us." Ami tells them, rather seductively.
Realizing what's about to happen, Coco's face lights up as she reaches over to a switch on the control panel labeled 'DANCE PARTY' and flips it, bringing down a disco ball and creating a light show with fog, spotlights and lasers. Two of these lasers hit Tawna and Ami, turning their space pirate disguises into 80's dance dresses, complete with 80's-style hair. Seeing their new and improved looks, Crash and Crunch look on, wide-eyed and jaws agape.
"Come on, you guys!" Ami exclaims as she and Tawna dance to the rhythm of the music playing. "Show us what you've got!"
"With pleasure, Ami!" Crunch exclaims as a pair of lasers hits him and Crash, turning their attire into disco attire. "With pleasure!"
Crash and Crunch then float over to Tawna and Ami, with Crash taking Tawna's hand and Crunch taking Ami's hand. The two pairs then proceed to dance along with the rhythm of the music, doing somersaults, twists, hip sways and spins.
"Aww, isn't this sweet, Coco dear?" Isabella says to Coco, smiling contently as she watches from down below. "A pair of lovers happily dancing their cares away."
"Yep, it sure is, Isabella." Coco says as she points a laser at her. "It sure is."
Realizing that Coco is using the laser to change her space pirate disguise into 80's-style attire, Isabella asks Coco, "Coco, what are you doing?"
"Go on, Isabella!" Coco tells her as she motions her to float up to Crash and the others. "Join them!"
"But, Coco..." Isabella nervously says as she rubs her arm. "I... don't have a partner to dance with."
"No problem. I can fix that." Coco says as she starts typing away on a special computer monitor. Seconds later, before Isabella's very eyes, a hologram of Hasty in disco attire appears and extends its hand out to Isabella.
"Is this... a hologram of Hasty?" Isabella asks Coco, happy and speechless.
"Yep! It sure is!" Coco cheerfully tells her. "Now, go on! Get up there!"
Isabella then smiles at Coco contently before the Hasty hologram takes her hand and brings her up to where Crash and the others are. The two of them join in on the dancing seconds later, doing a slow dance compared to the energetic disco dance the other pairs are doing.
"Come on, Spyro!" Tawna calls out, getting his attention. "Get up here and join us!"
"Oh, don't mind if I do, guys!" Spyro exclaims before floating up to Crash, Tawna and the others. Once he reaches the others, he then proceeds to do several freestyle dance moves, akin to what many dancers were doing around their time.
"Whoo!" Ami exclaims. "Way to cut a rug, Spyro!"
"Thanks!" Spyro exclaims as he continues to boogie. "I learned these moves from Hunter!"
Down at the control panel, Coco happily giggles at watching Spyro dance before she turns and notices Koala Kong glancing over at Liz, with a look of hesitation on his face as Liz watches the group dance above.
Realizing what Koala Kong is wanting to do, Coco floats over to him and lightly taps him on the shoulder. Koala Kong then turns to see Coco staring at him with a cheeky look on her face, prompting him to ask in surprise, "W-what?"
"You're thinking about asking Liz to dance, aren't you?" Coco asks him.
"Y-yes..." Koala Kong quietly mutters, knowing he wants to ask Liz to dance, but is unsure of what she would say.
"Well, go on, then!" Coco says as she motions him to go and talk to Liz. "Ask her to dance!"
"I... uh..." Koala Kong stutters with hesitation.
"Go on!" Coco tells him with encouragement. Motivated, Koala Kong then floats over to Liz.
"E-excuse... m-me... L-liz..." Koala Kong stutters, getting her attention.
"Yes, Kong?" Liz asks, slightly surprised as she turns to face Kong.
"W... would..." Koala Kong stutters as he glances back at Coco, who gives him a thumbs up signal with a smile on her face.
Turning back to Liz, Koala Kong continues to stutter as his face blushes a very bright shade of red, "W-would... you... l-l-like... t-t-to..."
Realizing what Koala Kong is attempting to ask her, Liz lets out a smile, takes his hand and tells him, "I'd love to."
She and Kong then float up towards the rest of the dancers, passing through some lasers that turn their space attire into disco attire, and proceed to join in on the dancing, all while Coco, Megumi and Brio watch from down at the control panel.
Megumi sighs contently and says to Coco and Brio, "Isn't this wonderful, guys? Love is in the air, and it's not even Valentine's Day anymore."
"Yeah. I honestly hope nothing ruins this tender moment." Coco happily says as she continues to watch the group dance, unaware that a small enemy vessel is approaching their ship.
