Eventually, Pinstripe, Geary, Oxide, several Ratnicians and Stench Titans lead Crash, Coco, Crunch, Tawna, Isabella, Megumi, Liz, Spyro, Koala Kong and N. Brio into Velo's throne room, with Zam and Zem quietly following close behind, where they are placed directly in front of Velo's throne to await Velo's arrival. Once everyone's inside, Oxide orders Zam and Zem to stay by his side so they won't be able to challenge their loyalty to him. Krunk, Nash and the Norms are also there, as Velo had called them up to make sure Crash and the others don't try anything funny.
Seeing Crash and the others, Nash chuckles awkwardly, waves to them and awkwardly says, "Hey, guys."
Megumi waves back at Nash and says to him, "Hey, Nash. How's it going on Barin?"
"Eh, still cold and still frigid, but what can you do about it?" Nash says as he shrugs his shoulders.
"Well, well, well." Velo loudly exclaims, getting everyone's attention as he enters the throne room. He approaches his throne and turns to face Crash and the others. "If it isn't Crash Bandicoot and his goody goody do-gooder pals. Welcome. I've been anticipating your arrival."
"Well, didn't think we would have to deal with you again." Coco says to Velo.
"Hey!" Pinstripe shouts at her. "Don't speak to our liege unless you are told to, you vermin!"
"Pinstripe, please." Velo sternly tells him. "Control yourself and leave this to me. Remember, I'm the one in charge here, not you"
Knowing that he can't threaten Crash and the others as long as Velo's by his side, Pinstripe grumbles to himself as he folds his arms in annoyance. Velo then turns to Coco and says to her, "Yes, Coco, my sweet. It has been quite some time since I last dealt with you and your bandicoot friends here. It's been, what? Almost twenty years?"
"Well, seventeen, give or take." Coco replies, recalling the time they beat Velo in the Galactic Circuit.
"Really? That long? Huh." Velo says before speaking seriously about Crash and the others being captured. "But anyways, let's get down to business here. You and all your friends showed up to my home planet of Gasmoxia to try and thwart my invasion of earth and now that you've been captured, you all must suffer the consequences."
Upon hearing that they will suffer in some fashion, Crash and the others all react appropriately with fear: Crash and Tawna embrace each other, Isabella grabs hold of Coco and pulls her to her side, while the rest of the group shudders at the thought of possibly being tortured or worse, killed because of their heroic efforts.
"Ah, don't look so gloom about it. After all, you did put in your best effort to try and stop me." Velo reassures them. "I was in our R&D department watching your break-in through our security cameras and, I have to say, you all put up a pretty good fight back there."
"I'll say they did." Geary says, rubbing his neck in pain. "They really did a number on my neck. I'll be resting my head on a pillow for weeks."
"They did that to you, Geary?" Pinstripe asks in surprise. "Huh. That's something I'd expect from Ami."
"Ah, yes. Speaking of your green-haired friend Ami..." Velo says before snapping his fingers.
At that moment, Ami, with a look of fear and regret from acting impulsively, is then lead into the room by a group of Ratnicians. They place her by Velo's side, where Velo takes Ami's hand and kisses it, getting the attention of Crunch.
"Hey!" Crunch growls as he makes an attempt to free Ami. "Unhand my girlfriend at once, you big green goblin!"
However, before Crunch can reach Ami, Pinstripe takes one of Ami's ray guns and fires a blast at Crunch, electrocuting and stunning him as he falls to the ground and winces in pain. Ami then cries out his name in shock and fear. Pinstripe then approaches Crunch, rests his foot on his chest so he can't get up, chuckles sinisterly, and deactivates his robot armor by kicking the activation wristband off of his arm. He then takes the wristband and places it in his jacket pocket.
"Now then, Velo, what do you say we kill these jerks?" Pinstripe asks before turning to Tawna with a seductive look in his eye. "...save for my one and only sweetheart Tawna, that is." Tanwa then groans in disgust while Crash scowls at Pinstripe for making a move on his girlfriend.
"Kill them?" Velo exclaims, balking at Pinstripe's suggestion. "Don't be ridiculous, Pinstripe! I may be a ruthless overlord who rules over this galaxy, but I'm not one to kill people!"
Upon hearing this, Crash and the others breathe a sigh of relief, knowing that they will survive. However, their relief is short-lived as Velo approaches them and continues, "No, at best, they'll undergo what I plan to do to billions upon billions of innocent people on their home planet: mutate them for my intergalactic army." causing Crash and the others to exclaim in fright.
"Oh, no! You're not mutating my prized trophy wife, Tawna!" Pinstripe growls to Velo, before stopping himself when he sees Velo glaring at him in disapproval, not wanting him to try and do something like usurp control over the invasion or what to do with Crash and the others. Realizing this, Pinstripe quickly retracts his statement and meekishly asks Velo, "I mean... what I meant to say was, uh... would you be so kind as to spare Tawna from mutation so that I can marry her and make her my one and only wife? Pretty please?"
Upon hearing this, Tawna groans in disgust and shouts to Pinstripe, "I thought I already told you, Pinstripe, I will NEVER be your wife! Never!"
Oxide then approaches Pinstripe, takes him by the arm and drags him back to where he, Zam and Zem are so that way, he can't act out against Velo anymore. Seeing that Pinstripe is subdued, Tawna approaches Velo and pleads with him, "Look, Mr. Velo, please spare my friends from this horrible fate. There must be some way we can get you to reconsider your decision. Please."
"Hmmm..." Velo says as he looks over Tawna, Isabella, Megumi and Liz, dressed in their space pirate disguises. "You girls did put up a really good fight back there, and I see you've acquired a taste for our Gasmoxian pirate armor, too." He then strokes his beard as he begins to think about something. "You know, I could use a new crew for my invasion..."
As Velo thinks to himself for a moment, Tawna and the girls all look at each other with concern before looking back at Crash and the others, who are just as concerned as they are.
Spyro, concerned that something bad is about to happen, turns to Crash and Coco, telling them, "Oh, I don't like the way this is going..."
"A-ha!" Velo exclaims, getting everyone's attention. "I know what I'll do!"
He gets up from his throne and approaches Tawna and the Nitro Squad, telling them, "What do you say we make a little deal, ladies?"
"Like fun we will!" Liz shouts as she prepares to grab her blaster before being stopped by Tawna.
"Liz, please." Ami fearfully says to her, fearing for her safety. "It would be best not to mess with this guy."
"She's right, you know." Velo says to them smugly. "One wrong move and your friends over there will suffer the horrors of being transformed into creatures of unspeakable disgust."
"No!" Isabella cries out in fear, worried sick for Coco. "Don't hurt my dear Coco and her friends! Just tell us your deal! We'll do anything to keep our friends safe! ANYTHING!"
Megumi comforts Isabella as she collapses into a crying heap. "Now, what is it you want with us?" Megumi asks, with a look of annoyance on her face.
"Very well." Velo says to the girls. "Here's my offer: I will be more than happy to spare your friends from a horrible mutation, if, and only if, you ladies agree to become my new space pirate crew."
"What?!" Tawna exclaims with shock as she and the girls gasp with shock.
Crash and the rest of the gang likewise gasp in shock as well, with Coco exclaiming in surprise, "What?! No!"
"You want us to betray our friends and defect to your side?!" Tawna asks with fear and concern.
"That's right." Velo says to the girls before continuing with pride in his voice, "Together, we shall build a new intergalactic army with the earthlings that we will poison with our supply of mutant food, and then we shall take to the farthest reaches of the galaxy and conquer all that oppose us and stand in our way!"
As Velo divulges in evil laughter, Ami scoffs to herself, "Pfft. No way I'm abandoning my friends when all of earth is at stake."
"Ah, yes." Velo says to Ami, getting her attention. He approaches her and lifts up her chin. "My emerald-haired lass, I almost forgot about you."
"Get your hands away from her, you space clown!" Crunch shouts as he tries to break free from his handcuffs while approaching Velo and the girls.
"Silence, you turkey!" Pinstripe shouts, pointing Ami's very own ray guns at him. Crunch, fearing for his life and Ami's, sulks and retreats back to Crash and the others. Pinstripe grins, turns to Velo and says to him, "Go ahead, Big V."
"Anyways, before we were interrupted..." Velo says as he takes Ami's hand. "In addition to you and your girlfriends becoming my new crew, I want you to be my bride."
"What?!" Ami exclaims in shock, baffled by Velo's suggestion. "Me, becoming your bride? But why?!"
"Simple." Velo says to her. "You possess the most energy and fighting spirit out of your little posse, and not to mention, your hair is the perfect shade of green, and green just so happens to be my favorite color, you know."
"Yeah, I picked up on that." Ami snarks as Velo lets go of her hand.
"Go on. Talk it over with your crew." Velo says as Ami dejectedly approaches Tawna and the rest of the Squad. "Remember: choose wisely, for your friends' sake."
Glancing at Crash and the others, fearing for their safety and what Velo might do to them if they make the wrong choice, the Squad then forms a huddle as they discuss what the best thing to do would be.
"Oh, this is terrible!" Megumi moans in despair. "What are we going to do?"
"I mean, what if we tell him no?" Liz asks out of concern. "He's sure to have Crash and the others ejected into the vacuum of space!"
"Or worse, he'll feed them to some horrible monster!" Ami exclaims.
"Please don't make me picture said monster devouring Coco!" Isabella cries, worried sick for Coco's safety.
Tawna then tells the girls, "Listen, girls. Do you know how devoted Crash is to protecting me? He would risk life and limb to keep me out of harm's way! So now, it's time we did the same for him and his friends." Tawna face goes from determination to extreme sadness as she continues to speak. "Even... even if it means... we have to break his heart."
"Wait. Please tell me you're not suggesting what I think you're suggesting." Ami says with extreme concern.
"Well, Ami, would you put your life on the line for Crunch to keep him safe?" Tawna asks her.
Ami thinks for a moment before her face falls as she sadly responds, "Y-yes..."
Tawna then turns to Isabella and asks, "And Isabella, you'd literally do anything for Coco, wouldn't you?"
"Yes, I would." Isabella sobs as Megumi comforts her. "I'd even sacrifice myself to an active volcano if it meant keeping Coco safe!"
"Well then, looks like we have no choice, girls." Tawna sighs dejectedly. "Final call, yay or nay?"
The girls look at each other with regret and all respond with a very solemn, "Yay..."
"Well, girls, have you made a decision yet?" Velo asks them, getting their attention.
The girls then turn to Crash, Coco and the others with looks of extreme guilt on their faces.
"Wait." Coco says with fear, realizing what's about to happen. "Please tell me you're not actually going to go through with this."
Tawna sighs and says to the others with extreme sadness and regret, "Sorry about this, guys."
"Girls, wait! NO!" Coco cries out as Tawna approaches Velo while Crash and the others look on with fear.
"All right, Velo..." Tawna says, tearing up as she reluctantly shakes Velo's hand. "We're in."
"Excellent!" Velo happily exclaims as Crash, Coco and their friends all gasp in shock with looks of absolute fear and terror on their faces. Even Zam, Zem, Krunk, Nash and the Norms all look surprised with the girls' decision to defect to Velo's side. Pinstripe, on the other hand, chuckles sinisterly, knowing that he has a chance to make Tawna his again, prompting an angry glare from Crash.
"Just don't hurt our friends, please." Tawna sadly says to him. "They're all we have left."
"Of course, me dear." Velo says to her. "I am a man of my word. Though they still have to spend the rest of their days in the dungeon in exchange for not being killed."
Tawna sighs and tells Velo as a single tear rolls down her face, "Just as long as they don't get hurt..."
"Girls, no!" Koala Kong shouts, shocked that the girls would even consider betraying them. "Please reconsider! We came all this way to stop Velo and you're just up and defecting to his side like that?"
"Koala Kong, please." Tawna tells him as tears roll down her face. "We don't have a choice. We're only doing this to keep you all safe."
Coco, tearing up, then cries out with her voice breaking, "But, girls! You're our friends! You can't do this! We need you by our side! We can't stop Velo and save earth without you! PLEASE! DON'T LEAVE US LIKE THIS! PLEASE!"
Isabella approaches Coco as she screams her lungs out and rests her hand on her face, calming Coco down. She then reassures Coco as tears roll down both of their faces, "Coco. It's going to be okay. We'll find a way to get though this. We always do. I promise."
She then gives Coco a big, long hug as the two of them silently sob into each other's shoulders, knowing that they may never see each other ever again. Watching this, Crash, Crunch, N. Brio, Spyro and Koala Kong tear up and sulk at watching Coco and Isabella saying what could potentially be their final goodbyes. Even Zam, Zem, Krunk, Nash and the Norms likewise shed a tear for the mother-daughter pair.
Seeing this, Velo motions Tawna and Ami to go and say their final goodbyes to Crash and Crunch. The two of them tearfully run up to Crash and Crunch and give them big, long hugs just like Coco and Isabella.
"Please take care of yourself, Crunch." Ami sobs into his shoulder.
"I will, Ami, honey." Crunch replies, getting teary-eyed. "I will."
"Be strong, my lovable little goofball..." Tawna sobs as Crash starts to quietly cry along with her.
Seeing Tawna giving her farewell hug to Crash, Pinstripe chuckles sinisterly and attempts to break the two of them up before Velo blocks his path with his scepter, sternly glaring at Pinstripe as he remembers his promise to the girls that no harm is to come to Crash and the others. Pinstripe groans and steps back, followed by Oxide decking him in the back of the head for attempting to break up a heart-wrenching farewell.
As Isabella finishes her hug with Coco, Coco tearfully says to her, "You have been one of the greatest bandicoots I am proud to call a mother figure, and I will always love you no matter what."
Isabella tearfully responds with, "And even though we may never see each other again, I just want you to know that I will always think about you each and every single day going forward and that I will never, ever stop loving you as the daughter I wish I had." She gives her a warm, loving smile and kisses her on the forehead before regrouping with the girls.
Big Norm gently rests his hand on Coco's shoulder and says to her, "All right, let's go. I don't wanna see you get any more upset."
As Krunk, Nash and the Norms lead Crash, Coco, Crunch, N. Brio, Spyro and Koala Kong out of the throne room and to the dungeon, Crash looks back at Tawna with tears rolling down his face. Tawna reaches her hand out and sobs, "Oh, Crash..."
"Don't worry, ladies." Velo says as he approaches the girls and rests his hand on Tawna's shoulder. "They're in good hands. After all, I kept my end of the deal. I've spared them from mutation even though they're going to spend the rest of their days in the dungeon. Now it's time to keep your end of our deal."
"Come! We have an invasion to prepare for!" Geary calls out to Tawna and the Nitro Squad, who watch with tears rolling down their faces as Crash and the others are led down to the dungeon below. Even Zam and Zem watch with sorrow as they know they've lost the only friends they've ever come to get. Pinstripe and Geary slam the throne room doors shut.
