Chapter 2
I was too much awe to fathom what was happening at the moment. "I could be looking at an actual freaking alien right now." I thought. She reminded me of a fox... sort of. Her fur was a bright yellow with cream colored fur covering her torso. Tears then began to stream down her cyan eyes. "Mike... I looked everywhere for you." she sniffled. I actually felt bad for her even despite the fact I have no idea why she is crying.
My body was paralyzed telling me to stay but my brain was screaming for me to (and I quote) "Get the hell out of here." However I just stood there observing every single feature of hers. Suddenly she began making her way towards me which each step my heart beat grew faster. Regaining my senses I began running the opposite direction of the 'furry'.
"Wait Mike don't go!" The Fox-like creature cried.
"NOPENOPENOPE!" I thought.
Crap, I feel like the biggest jerk right now. "No time for thoughts like that, I don't even know her!" I told myself only to look behind my back and see that shes chasing after me.
"Where are you going?!" The vixen cried out.
That girl she sounded exactly like that voice in the dream I had earlier today.
"I don't know why she was crying, or if I actually know her, but one things for sure I'm heading straight back home!" I muttered. But how the hell was I going to out run her? Shes too fast, i guess Ill have to out smart her this time instead of sprinting like a headless chicken I'll sprint through areas filled with heavy traffic so I can actually lose her. She may have a speed advantage but I actually know this area. But what about other people? If they see her and me that'll probably get the authorities involved.
Wait a sec!
30 minutes later...
I managed to get away from the 'furry' and get home without too many problems there's a shortcut by the empty alleys that has a rather sharp turn it let me blend right in with other pedestrians. It still boggles me how fast she was and how she easily she managed to track me down. "Was it the device that led her to me?" I thought looking at the 'Digivice' from before only to see that the gps navigation was still on. "Dammit!" I shouted chucking it outside the window. She could still be out there tracking me down, my heartbeat raced as my hand began to twitch. "Stay calm, don't want to have a convulsion now do I? Besides I'm probably freaking out over nothing" I reassured myself only to take a deep breath and slouch onto the couch.
"What now?" I said aloud. I didn't have any home work at the moment due to being excused from two academic classes today, so I did the logical thing a teenager would do: lay down and watch TV.
Nothing good was on all that was on was the crappy new shows. Seriously? can't a guy watch something class-
*SCRIIIPT*
Crap.
...
That was the window in my room...
Grabbing a bat I had back when I played baseball, I stealthily crept to my room. Peering through the slit of my closed door I nearly fainted when a pair of white paws with razor sharp claws engulfed my sight. Taking a deep breath I clenched my bat tightly and yanked the door wide open and prepared for the worst. She jumped in surprise as soon as the door opened.
Once again I found myself unable to form a sentence and dropped the bat that was in my grasp. She looked at me and then spoke up. "Is your name Mike?" She questioned suddenly.
I stiffened my posture for a moment
"Y-yes... it is but how do you know m-UNMF!" I tried to finish what I was going to say but I was tackled to the ground by the the vixen who wrapped her arms around me and began nuzzling my stomach. "Mike it is you! Oh thank god!" She cried out relieved. I was surprised at her actions but just decided to play along then ask her my questions. At lest I can confirm she isn't hostile. She then looked up to me with tears of joy and continued to nuzzle me.
"I was starting to think that you were-" That's when she lost it tears started to flow uncontrollably down her face as she began to sob hard. "That you were dead..." She whimpered.
"Wait, dead?"
"Why did you run from me?' She whimpered
I felt bad I really did but I have no idea what she's talking about, sure there was that dream but that doesn't answer any of my questions. I pushed her off of me only to ask one question
"Who are you and how do you know my name?" I then questioned. The creature gave me an appalled look. "Mike it's me Renamon your we're friends don't you remember?" She responded with her voice losing stability. "I'm afraid not I never seen you before" I replied. Tears steamed down her face again. "Wait don't cry! Please don't cry!" I tried to sooth her but it didn't help. Running out of options I wrapped my arms around her in a comforting manner.
"Now I may not remember you but you do seem a little familiar to me." I stated. Her tears seemed to stop and her expression changed into a hopeful one "I do?" She asked in an adorable manner. I nodded at her giving her a warm smile. "Hey Renamon what if you tell me a little bit about yourself maybe that might make me remember you." I offered. "Okay." She agreed.
After some explanations are made...
"So let me get me straight: You come from a different world made entirely out of data, is inhabited by creatures by the name of Digimon, and we were once partners?" I asked for clarification.
"Yup that's basically it!" Renamon answered with a smile.
"Renamon one question what is a Digimon anyways some sort of digital monster?"
"Yes actually." She said.
"NAILED IT!" I thought.
"Do you remember me now?" She asked hopefully.
"No..." I replied sadly.
Her expression changed into sad one once again as she stood up and began walking towards the window. "I guess I should probably leave then, sorry for bothering you" She apologized in a quiet tone. She then looked at me with a weak smile.
"Wait!" I suddenly blurted
"You said we were friends right?" I suddenly asked only to receive a nod from the digimon.
"Prove it"
She looked at me with a pair of determined eyes. "Your name is Micheal Olson though you always preferred to be called Mike for simplicity sakes. I know you have an illness that made you twitch uncontrollably when you were younger making the kids tease you endlessly thinking you were insane. It made you introverted as a result with few friends who all moved away except for one. The scar on your left elbow was a result of a local bully you had who had shoved you down to the ground causing you to scrape your elbow against the cement. I know of your uncanny obsession with the "comics" you have, and how they would provide you with- well... with comfort. You would try to apply the lessons those heroes learned to your own life. Yet the one you kept hammering over my head was the one about power and responsibility."
I stood there speechless only to grasp my arm with the scar I had never told anyone about that scar not even my parents because I was too scared of the consequences I would have to deal with especially with that bully. My only escape was with the comics I read, hell even the part with me giving her the good ol' uncle Ben talk seemed plausible. So I walked up to her and did the only thing that seemed right, I held her close to me as I helped her let loose her tears.
"You don't have to leave..." I spoke suddenly
"What's the point of staying if you don't even remember who I am. I would just be a burden to you" She spoke on the verge of losing it once again. "Hey just because I don't remember you doesn't mean you aren't welcome here. Look the point is, I'm not going to leave you out like this" I replied.
"Are you sure Mike?" She asked astonished.
"Of course I'm sure we'll figure this out together." I answered.
She smiled as a response hugging me very tightly.
...
I then looked at my watch. 5:00 P.M. it should take about two hours until my parents come home, then it hit me. "Crap! How am I supposed to explain this to my parents?!" I thought. "Renamon we need to find a hiding place for you." I told her. "Why?" She asked. "If my parents see you they might freak out and call animal control and we don't want that!" Renamon expression changed into a confused one "What is this 'animal control'?" She asked slightly concerned.
"No time to explain my parents will be here soon!" I replied quickly.
We looked at dozens of areas in the house but we couldn't find any decent hiding spots.
6:30 P.M.
"Wait, why don't you just hide you under the covers of my bed, besides you have the coziness of the bed with you" I offered. Renamon face turned slightly red when she heard what I said. "Are you okay?" I asked. "I'm fine" she assured. I cocked a eyebrow in response.
"Okay we have to be asleep by the time my parents get home so I'm going to change to some pj's." I declared. Renamon just stared at me. "Um Renamon can you get out real quick?" I asked. "Why?" She asked sadly. "I'm a guy and your a girl. You cant look at me undressed." I said with a blush. "O-oh right." she said with her face becoming twice as red than it was before. She walked out of my room and the only thought I could process was "What was that all about?"
5 minutes later...
I can't explain how awkward I felt getting into that bed. Right when I got into bed I felt two furry arms wrap around me and pull me into an embrace. "Night Mike." Renamon said as she snuggled up to me. "Night." I replied I was glad the lights were out so she couldn't see my blush. "Its gonna be a long embarrassing night isn't it." I thought.
Just to clarify Renamon already has feelings for Mike...
See ya peeps
