Elsa x Hans : Santa

The village around the castle was lit up with what Elsa could only guess was thousands of candles as she stepped outside the castle's gate.

It was Christmas Eve night and for the first time in many years she was spending it alone.

Kristoff and Anna were up on the mountain, having promised to spend Christmas Eve with the trolls, and Olaf, ever eager to go on what he called adventures, had snuck onto the sleigh with them.

Elsa wondered as the natural snow dusted her hair how far along the path they got before they discovered their stowaway.

Hans had declared in a very suspicious manner that he had something to attend to and would be back that evening.

It made her a tad worried as to what her Christmas present might be, to be honest.

Regardless of her worries a small smile made its way to her lips as it often did when she thought of her husband.

Idly, Elsa peered about the village pondering whether or not she wanted to move from her spot when the sound of jingle bells rang sweetly in the air.

There at the top of the road that divided the village from the forest was a beautiful white horse pulling a cherry red sleigh in which sat one lone man.

And what a man he was! Long white beard, belly that jiggled as if full of jelly and clothed from head to toe in a royal sapphire blue cloak with holly embroidered on the hem and breast. His pants were also a royal blue and his boots were black as coal and shiny as ice. His rich laugh brought all the children running for the sleigh along with bringing a surprised gasp to Elsa's lips.

He stopped at every door handing the children and parents food and little wrapped packages from the big blue bag that lay behind him in the sleigh.

Her eyes wide with delight, Elsa could not help the little extra snow she caused to fall as he made his way ever so slowly towards her.

Finally he appeared before her in all his glory and with a helpless giggle, Elsa bobbed a curtsy and said. "Hello, Santa."

His deep green eyes pools of mischief, 'Santa' sketched as good a bow as he could with his large belly and replied. "Merry Christmas, Queen Elsa."

Her smile wide, Elsa could not contain her giggles as 'Santa' continued.

"Being a very good girl, I believe I owe you a gift. What do you think children? What kind of gift should Santa give the Queen?"

A myriad of answers rose from his little followers in an excited chatter. Exchanging indulgent smiles over the children's heads, Elsa and 'Santa' eventually got the children to settle enough for 'Santa' to give the Queen her gift.

Taking it from his white gloved hand, Elsa lightly brushed his fingertips with her own in an act of silent affection before opening the box as urged by the children's eager voices.

Inside lay two pairs of white baby booties. Small and perfect they brought tears to Elsa's eyes.

Unable to control herself, she leaned up on her tiptoes and placed a soft kiss on 'Santa's' cheek saying in a husky voice as one hand drifted to her still flat stomach.

"Just what I wanted."

The children didn't seem too impressed with the booties but the reminder of a royal baby coming filled them with new questions, questions that probably would have gone on all night if Olaf, of all people, hadn't turned up out of now where and led them on a merry hunt for candy canes.

Aside from a stray thought on how the little snowman had gotten back to the village, Elsa turned her full attention on 'Santa' leaning up to give him a proper kiss on the lips, now that the children's attention was elsewhere.

"Thank you, darling. "

Dropping a hand to her waist, Hans gave her an adoring look and whispered back. "Thank you, my Queen."
