Greedy - chapter 3
Huey was… admittedly nervous. Never had he had a first date where he went to a girls house and they cooked their meal. Something about Jazmine had his stomach all twisted and nervous when he was usually such a carefree guy and it made him feel like an idiot. Was he feeling like this because they met at the strip club or would he have felt this way regardless of where they met? It felt like he probably would have — she was smart, down-to-earth, funny. They had a lot of the same interests. The cherry on the top was how pretty she looked and how well she carried herself without doing too much. She was perfect, for him at least. He didn't like high maintenance girls because he wasn't a high maintenance type of guy. Huey was stuck in his thoughts as he sat outside her apartment building, hoping she wouldn't look out a window and see him sitting there like a creep. He was almost thirty minutes early to 7:30, the time he was supposed to come over.
He bit on his bottom lip softly, his stomach gurgling loudly. He hadn't eaten since early morning in anticipation of tonight. They had agreed on a basic lemon chicken meal with rice and broccoli. Jazmine said she'd make a cheesecake for dessert, something he was looking forward to since he didn't eat cheesecake often. Something told him that she could cook and bake her ass off. She had seemed so excited when they FaceTimed about it, though excitement didn't necessarily equal talent… A buzz from Huey's phone made him jump out of his thoughts. It was Riley.
Damn nigga, you ain't tell me you was going to Yellas house
Get ittttt
Huey didn't bother with a reply. Jazmine must have told Cindy, who then told Riley cause he wasn't planning on telling Riley a damn thing — at least not yet. He wasn't expecting to get any… but he'd be lying if he said he didn't bring a couple of Magnums with him. Just in case they hit it off really well, he didn't want to be in the circumstance that he didn't have any.
He sniffed himself for the fifth time since he started getting ready. There was no way that he smelled but better safe than sorry? This wasn't his first impression but second impressions were equally as important. Huey shouldn't have been so nervous, acting like this was his first date. He was stuck wondering how to greet her — shake her hand? Give her a hug? Wave? Maybe he'd just let her take the lead. It was her house after all.
One glance at the clock told Huey that it was 7:24, which meant that he could finally head to her apartment. He got out of the car and locked his door, sniffing himself one more time and headed up the steps to the third floor. She lived in a pretty nice place, better than the somewhat crappy apartment that he lived in. It was one of the complexes with bright colored apartments, nice landscaping, and a huge community pool. Most importantly, it was clean — someone cared enough to maintain everything. Which begged the question again… why was she stripping?
Two knocks and the door opened. Huey couldn't help but smile as Jazmine pulled him into a hug. He could already hear R&B music in the background playing. "How was your day?" He asked as he hugged her back.
"Good, yours? I've been waiting to eat since lunch, I'm starving!" Jazmine laughed as she pulled away and ushered Huey inside her apartment, closing and locking the door behind him. He couldn't help but look around, this was a really nice apartment. A decent sized kitchen with an island and double sinks, a small dining area, and a fairly large living room. More important than her kitchen was her — a huge puff that was slicked back, small hoop earrings. She had an a light pink t-shirt with a pair of ripped jeans and those fluffy Ugg's that every girl seemed to love.
"Me too, I was trying to save room for everything. My day was cool," Huey nodded and looked around. The kitchen was tile but the floor was carpeted, "should I take my shoes off?"
"Only if you feel comfortable!" Jazmine shrugged and walked to the kitchen, taking out the ingredients they needed to get cooking. She also pulled out a bottle of Rosé. "It's the sparkling kind, I hope that's okay? I have a few more in the closet so they're not cold. Unless you want a shot of some cognac."
"I'll take a shot, but the Rosé is fine too." Huey said as he took off his shoes and put them by the door then followed Jazmine to the kitchen to wash his hands. He needed something to get rid of the slight nervousness he was feeling. He watched as she got two shot glasses down from the cabinet and filled both of them up. He definitely wasn't gonna go home tonight.
"One for one?" she blushed, he nodded. They clinked glasses and then tossed back their drinks. She put her glass on the counter and then clapped her hands. "Ready to cook?"
"Been ready. What do you want me to do?" Huey put his glass next to hers and looked at everything she had laid out. Jazmine slid the pack of chicken breast, the cutting board and the knife to Huey and instructed him to cut them in half while she cut up the lemon and herbs needed for the chicken. They stood on opposite sides of the island prepping the food.
"So… how come you're taking a year off from school?" Jazmine asked, drumming up some basic conversation. She really wanted to get to know Huey. There's texts were interesting, but surface level. She needed to know if they could really click, and this was the perfect time to find out.
Huey cleared his throat, "My granddad had a health scare, so I had to take some time to take care of him. But I'm registered and ready to go for this semester. Hopefully everything goes smoothly."
"Oh, I'm sorry. I think everything will be fine this semester. Will that look bad on you in the future?" Jazmine had grown up with a lawyer but knew next to nothing about anything else. It didn't help that her dad tended to be overly annoying about everything… which made it easy to tune him out. "What made you want to be a lawyer?"
"Probably hard to believe, but as a kid I was a radical leftist. I mean… I technically still am. I figured my best bet on making change is by actually joining the system. My goal is to be a Supreme Court justice." Huey quickly tried to switch subjects — politics wasn't first date material. Maybe on the second date. "So, communications major? What got you into that?"
"So my freshman year, I had no idea what I wanted to do but I chose business as my major. Entrepreneurship to be exact. My advisor messed up and put me in management instead. Long story short, I failed a few classes but while I was taking the communications class… I just loved what I was doing. I switched and changed the business aspect into a minor. Despite that, I still feel like I shouldn't be in school at all."
Huey nodded. Communications was important, more important than most people knew. "Sounds like imposter syndrome, no reason why you shouldn't be there. I know you go to WCU, why not just go to UMD?" He was finally done cutting the chicken so he placed them on the baking sheet Jazmine had pulled out.
Jazmine shrugged while she handed seasonings to Huey. "Mostly my parents, really. I didn't care what school I went to. They swear private education is better though. I don't qualify for financial aid and I only received a few grants and two scholarships so it's a shit ton of money." She was slapping lemon slices on the chicken breasts like they were the reason she was going to a private university.
Huey definitely understood her anger though. WCU was almost twenty thousands a semester. In comparison to the seventeen thousand he accrued the past five semesters. "Your parents helping you?"
"Not really. Something about the satisfaction of paying for your own education. They give me money every semester for books, that's about it." Jazmine placed foil over the baking tray and slid it in the oven. Then she started working on the rice so that it would be ready to go by the time the chicken was done. Broccoli would be last since it got cold so fast.
"That sucks, if they wanted you to pay for it you should've been able to choose. So you work then?" Huey asked, wondering if she would just tell him outright that she was a stripper. He doubted it, but at least he presented the opportunity. He just hated the playing it dumb game… he knew that Jazmine knew that it was him she gave that dance to. She had to know that he knew it was her.
Jazmine's cheeks flushed and she turned around to look through the fridge in an attempt to hide her face. She turned around with nothing in her hand, "You know, don't you? I know you know."
Part of him wanted to play dumb but Huey just nodded, thinking back to everything he felt that night. "Jade, right?" He could understand why she wanted to keep it secret. He could also imagine how many poor responses she'd gotten in the past from other men finding out. Only difference was that he knew before they even made plans, and it didn't stop anything.
"Yep," Jazmine sighed and closed the lid on the rice cooker. She poured a glass of wine and sat next to Huey at the island. There was always a small pit of shame in her stomach when people found out about her job. She'd be lying if she said she didn't like it, cause she loved stripping — she loved the money, she loved dancing. It got her in tune with her body, strengthened her body in ways she didn't know possible. It made her feel sexy and powerful. But a lot of women shamed strippers and even more men did the same. No matter how much she told herself not to be ashamed… she couldn't help it. It helped pay for this apartment, it helped pay for her bills, and for her schooling.
"Did you start cause of school?" Huey asked quietly. He grabbed the wine glass and poured himself a cup.
"Yeah, I started over winter break my freshman year. Cindy mentioned that I should try. She actually paid for me to take a few pole classes and turned out I had a knack for it. I started practicing as much as possible, met the right people who helped me learn and taught me tricks. I recognized Riley the other night, but he was too drunk to recognize me. Then once Cindy mentioned you were going to show up to brunch with him, I was so worried. I knew that the moment you looked at me you knew." Jazmine laughed to herself.
"The eyes kinda gave it away, and the hair… a few other things too. But, I guess your parents don't know, right?" Huey looked at Jazmine and thought about the stark difference between Jazmine and Jade.
"Oh my god no. I could never tell them. That's something that will have to be a secret," Jazmine shook her head back and forth and laughed. "It's so crazy, cause… I was so worried about your 'finding out', even though I knew you knew."
"You must've had some bad experiences with telling people so I don't blame you at all. It's all good. I won't say that I've ever been in this situation before but I'm willing to be open. Sounds corny but you can't tell me you didn't feel something that night. It's worth a try, right?" Huey looked her dead in her eyes, just to let her know he was serious. He wasn't about to step to her on some little kid shit.
"I've heard that before but… I'd rather just test the waters. For your sake. That way I don't get too invested in you if you change your mind," Jazmine stood up and swayed her hips to the music. Huey couldn't place the exact song, though he knew it was definitely dvsn. Huey watched as her hips moved and rolled seductively as she started cutting up the broccoli.
"You think I'll change my mind?" Huey finished the rest of his wine.
Jazmine shrugged, as she put the broccoli into the water to blanch. While that cooked, she took the foil off the chicken to let it get some color. Once the broccoli was blanched, she'd toss it with the chicken to let it get some flavor. "Experience tells me you'll be okay with it for a while… then you'll start second guessing yourself. It's only human nature, right?"
"Ohhh, so you think I'm a regular nigga?" Huey nodded his head, trying to lighten the conversation a bit. He wasn't expecting something so heavy— it was only their first date after all. "I'm offended."
Jazmine only wanted to roll her eyes, but she smiled. Every guy thought he was more than the "regular" guy. She'd give him the benefit of the doubt like she always did, she would just be prepared for the worse to happen. Regardless, she would have fun with it and enjoy the ride. "Yeah, yeah… I'm soooo sorry. Let me make it up to you?"
That got Huey's attention. Eyebrows arched, "And how are you gonna do that?"
"Welllll," the alcohol must've been hitting her now. She walked up next to him and placed her hands on his shoulders before leaning over to whisper in his ear, "once we eat, you can sit right there on the couch and I can give you a special dance. Maybe move it to the bedroom?"
Shivers shot down Huey's spine and he nodded like a kid in a candy store. His hand instinctively went up to the small of her back, "I like that a lot."
"Bet you do," Jazmine smiled when she saw the goosebumps rising on his skin. Her seductive voice always did the trick. She'd be lying if she said she didn't want to get some dick tonight. She had shaved every inch of her body from the hair on her toe knuckle to the itty bitty stache on her upper lip. All she could think about was Huey's little... Huey that had popped up when she gave him that private dance. Jazmine walked back over to the oven and turned to look at her guest, "aren't you going to help me?"
He shook his head out of the slight trance and hopped up. Jazmine directed and Huey listened, taking out and putting away whatever she told him to. He washed dishes up as they filled the sink, despite Jazmine telling him to not do that multiple times. It was a force of habit.
They joked and talked about trivial things that were going on. Huey listened to her gossip about friends and some coworkers, Huey told Jazmine about the work drama and him looking for another job. The weather, the news, easy things. Not too soon later and the food was dished onto the plates and the two were sitting at the dining room table with their third glass of wine. Jazmine was bubbly and giggly, Huey was relaxed but excited.
Huey got up to put their dishes in the sink and Jazmine grabbed his hand to pull him to the couch before he could even take a step away from the sink. She pushed him down and he fell backwards without much effort. He wasn't drunk, just loose. This was where he liked to keep his buzz at… anywhere past this point and it wasn't fun anymore. Jazmine gasped, "wait! I'll be right back!" And she kinda sort of ran off into a room. He sat there, wondering why she had left. Minutes passed by, a little bit of thumping, and then she was walking back out into the living room in a black babydoll set. It was crazy how even though he had seen much more of her, this was more exciting and sexier than what she was wearing at the club. She flipped off the light switch to the living room, just leaving the kitchen light to illuminate them.
The music was still playing — Crown Royal by Jill Scott. He watched as she walked over to him, her hips swaying right to left. This was different from what she was dancing to the last time. Jazmine lifted her leg up and put her foot next to his waist revealing the matching crotchless thong that she had on. Once she knew he had seen, she moved her knee inwards to cover up the goods and turned around and lowered herself onto his lap. With the bit of liquid courage running through her veins, she had no hesitation in any of her movement. She grabbed his hand and placed it in the middle of her stomach and slowly slid his hand down.
Huey stopped his hand just short, "Jazmine are you sure you want to do this?" He had to clear his throat. She was obviously drunk and he had to make sure.
She laughed and nodded her head slowly, "Duh." She turned over and straddled his hips and looked him in his eyes before kissing him deeply. All the while, her hips grinding against him. She could feel him through his jeans and she was aching for it at this point. "I want you."
"I want you too," Huey kissed her back, still not sure if he should take control or let her take the lead. His hands cupped her ass as she grinded against him and he couldn't help but let out a small gasp. He could hear how wet she was. "Shit."
Her hands went down to his pants, unbuckling them and tugging at them quickly. He lifted his hips up and helped her pull them off, his boxers going down with them. He knew that if they started fucking without any type of foreplay, he'd be done in five minutes tops and she'd be utterly disappointed. She was clearly too hot and ready to even consider that. Huey turned them over, softly plopping Jazmine down on the couch while he made his way to kneel on the floor.
When I'm on my knees, it's just to pleasure you
I'm okay with looking like I'm begging though
I put diamonds all over your pedestal
Now your body numb, it's like an edible
He hooked his fingers around the waist of her panties and pulled them down in one swift move. He liked the thought of crotchless panties… in theory. But they were just going to get in the way. Huey was in between her legs in record time. He touched, fingered, rubbed, licked and sucked until he knew Jazmine couldn't hold back anymore. Hearing her moan and beg for him had him harder than he was before. He pulled away and grabbed his jeans, grabbing the condoms he bought while Jazmine recovered from her orgasm, a sheen of sweat over her body. Somehow throughout the whole ordeal, her top had ended up hanging off the armchair of the couch.
"Unexpected," Jazmine sighed out dreamily. Green eyes stared up at the ceiling as the fuzzy feelings in her chest fizzled away slowly. In two motions, the condom was on. Huey situated himself in between Jazmine's legs. This was usually the time he'd start kissing but… he wasn't too sure if he should kiss her. It seemed silly, regarding the circumstances. Luckily Jazmine sensed the hesitation and wrapped her arms around the back of his neck and pulled him into a deep kiss. He slowly slid into her, loving every single, small sensation that he felt. Her legs wrapped around his waist, nails dug gently into his skin, arms pulled him closer. She whispered moans and whines of encouragement and pleasure in Huey's ear, telling him what to do and how to do it. They clicked better than either of them would have expected and Huey knew he wasn't going to last with all the nasty shit she was saying, getting louder with each passing moment.
"Fuck," Huey gasped out, grabbing Jazmine's waist and picking up the tempo. He could've sworn he had a few strokes left in him but Jazmine whispered in his ear, "cum for me Huey", and it was a wrap. He was done. Jazmine grabbed him by his cheeks and pulled him in for another kiss — again, unexpected, but he wasn't going to complain.
Both of them sat breathless for a moment. Huey pulled away to let Jazmine get up. "You should stay the night? If you want."
"Uh, yeah… that's cool. I probably shouldn't drive anyways," Huey was pretty sure he had sweated out the bit of alcohol in his system but he wasn't going to deny an invitation to spend the night.
"Okay! Uhm… you can go to the bathroom? It's right around the corner. The middle door. Do you want a washcloth and a towel?" Jazmine stood up and Huey couldn't help but stare as he nodded. She stood up and walked over to a small linen closet and handed Huey the washcloth and towel. He grabbed his clothes and headed towards the bathroom to take a quick shower. Meanwhile, Jazmine burnt an incense and lit two candles in her room and put on her satin robe to clean up the house the best she could on wobbly legs. After she washed the dishes she finally texted Cindy.

Jazmine loved the message and put her phone down. She tidied up around the apartment — picked her clothes up, closed the shades (thank goodness she lived on the third floor), and wiped down the counters. She tossed a few water bottles in the fridge in case he got thirsty and then she just sat on the couch waiting for him to get out and sipped on the remaining bit of Rosé that was left.
Huey washed quickly, amazed by how much stuff was in Jazmine's shower. Multiple conditioners, body washes and body washes. It was a lot in comparison to his 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner and bar of soap. He got out and dried off, picking at his clothes. He wasn't going to wear jeans to bed so he folded them up, then his shirt, and put on his boxers. He wiped up the bit of water on the floor and hung the towels on the rack before walking out, clothes in hand. Jazmine looked him up and down before standing up. "You can just put those anywhere. I'm gonna shower really quick, you can put something on the TV in my room."
"Cool," Huey nodded and did as he was told. He flipped through Netflix and Hulu while Jazmine was in the shower, looking through her recently watched to try and get a gist of what kind of things she watched. A lot of cartoons, documentaries, and anime. Seemed like his type of girl. She came out of the bathroom in a bathrobe and grabbed some clothes before heading back into the bathroom. Moments later, she was in the room clad in pajama shorts and an oversized shirt. After flipping the lights, Jazmine laid down, feeling a bit nervous even though she knew it made no sense to be. Huey laid back next to her, keeping a small space between them.
Jazmine scoffed, "You had one job, pick a show."
"There was a lot to choose from, I didn't know what you wanted to watch," Huey countered, handing her the remote and holding one hand up in defense. He couldn't help but focus on how good she smelled.
She nodded, "Mhm… excuses, excuses." Jazmine switched on Futurama and put the remote on the nightstand before getting completely comfortable and situated. "You don't have to be so far away, you know?"
"Say less," Huey mumbled softly. Getting drowsier by the moment. He pulled Jazmine in by the waist and scooted closer to her. It took less than twenty minutes for them to be knocked out, lightly snoring in each other's faces.
really happy w this chapter, let me know what you think! I def feel like Jazmine is down for the cause if she really likes someone + "its something in this liquorrr"
