Here's another chapter!

I'm updating a lot more than I thought...probably just cause I'm editing the files I already have on hand.

Enjoy!

Last Time:

"Ino told me that she saw Sasuke's eyes looking straight at you today, I didn't think he would be interested in any girl, but looks like I may be wrong," Shikamaru told me.

"I bet he was just spacing out," I told him, "The Uchiha doesn't have time for anything like that."

"..y'know, you're probably right," Shikamaru told me, "I don't know why I'd listen to Ino."

"Wouldn't she be mad at me if that did happen?" I asked, "Seeing how jealous she gets."

"It's probably cause you told her you weren't interested in Sasuke," He told me.

"That makes sense," I said, "I just hope she doesn't talk about that again. I don't see the appeal."

"Look at the sky," Shikamaru told me.

I looked up, catching the sun's last moments before setting. Seeing the sky turn dark, and the stars started coming out, shining through the darkness.

"...alright, you win," I said, "I see what you mean."

"Yeah?" He asked, laying down, "You're pretty troublesome. Hard to convince."

"I'm a drag, aren't I?" I joked.

I laid next to him, "But I question why you deal with it."

~.~

I had showed him some constellations that I could remember by memory.

"That one, that one's Cancer...right?" Shikamaru asked, pointing at the sky.
I held in a laugh and moved his hand.

"..yes," I said, after it was in the correct spot.

"Wait, then what was that?" He pointed at the one he pointed at earlier.

"Wanna take a guess?" I asked.

"..." He looked back, "...that was the Big Dipper."

"Yes, that was the Big Dipper," I laughed.

"I'm amazed you can remember stuff like this, okay?" He told me.

"I amaze myself that I was able to remember this stuff too," I told him.

'You have the ability to predict things. You can use constellations and the star's alignment to make predictions about certain things, but they aren't as accurate as your actual abilities,' Fuzen told me.

'Wait, I have the ability to predict things?' I asked.

'Yes, but you haven't learned how yet,' Fuzen told me, 'It's a useful skill, but I'll have to talk to you about it later.'

"You know, I heard some people can use the star's alignment to predict things," Shikamaru told me.

"Is that so?" I asked, "Any predictions you might have?"

"Hmm..." He looked up, "I see...you becoming a cat lady."

"Okay, I'm done with the stars today," I said.

"I'm joking!"

We sat in silence, watching the night sky.

'Okay, tell me more, Fuzen,' I told it.

'You're very impatient,' It sighed, 'You can predict possible futures, useful especially during missions. But it's a hard skill to learn.'

'Hmm,' I waited for it to continue.

'I'm not even sure if you can learn it, since your Kekkei Genkai, Jikan No Me, is only in one eye,' Fuzen told me, 'But either way, it's hard to know what path to take.'

'...wait, it's suppose to be in both eyes?' I questioned.

'Yes. I'm not sure if you're able to learn it, but I'll explain how it works,' Fuzen told me, 'This is basically Future Vision. Time is like...it's like a river. The river will represent the present. It's not gonna be one straight line. The river will split into streams and creeks. It can pool into a waterfall, into an ocean, there are many possibilities. You can see the multiple future possibilities and take the best choice of action,' It paused, 'But I don't think you're able to learn it...yet.'

'Do I have to use my Jikan No Me more to be able to learn Future Vision?' I asked.

'Unsure,' Fuzen told me, 'We'll have to see what happens.'

'...so I'm suppose to be able to activate my Jikan No Me in both eyes...' I thought, 'Why is it only in one eye?'

'Also unsure,' Fuzen told me.

'So, are you gonna teach me something I can learn?' I asked.

'You're so impatient. I already told you, not yet.'

~.~

"Oi, Kyoko, wake up," He said, lightly shaking the girl, "Can't believe you fell asleep."

Kyoko turned away from him. He sighed.

'I can't carry her on my back...' He carefully slipped one of his arms under her neck and legs, also paying attention to the chain, and picked her up bridal style.

"Ugh, carrying you is going to be such a drag," Shikamaru sighed, carrying Kyoko all the way back to her house.

It wasn't long til the Nara made it to Kyoko's house, he kicked the door opened, since he couldn't use his hands. He kicked the door back to close it and walked up the stairs.

'Man, either she's kinda heavy, or I'm feeling really lazy today,' Shikamaru sighed, 'I wonder how'd she react to that commen. I doubt it would be the same as Ino or Sakura.'

"What happened?"

Shikamaru looked towards the Jonin.

"She fell asleep in the fields," Shikamaru told Kakashi, "If I woke her up, she'd probably wanna study once we got back."

"I see," Kakashi said before walking to the living room, "I'll let you put her to bed then."

"...right," Shikamaru sighed, carrying her up the stairs and into her room.

He walked over to her bed and laid her down. A noise came from the closet. Shikamaru turned to see two bright yellow eyes pierce through the darkness.

"She's just sleeping," Shikamaru told the cat who crawled out of the closet.

Akumu jumped onto the mattress and curled up next to Kyoko's head. Shikamaru laid next to Kyoko, exhausted from having to carry her. He felt like something was staring at him, he looked to the side to see the black cat stare at him. Shikamaru raised his hand near it, Akumu sniffed his hand and pressed his hand underneath, telling Shikamaru to pet him. Shikamaru petted the black cat as it purred in pleasure.

"Becoming friends with you is easier than your owner," Shikamaru told Akumu as he scratched under the cat's chin.

Akumu let out a quiet meow, and jumped over his owner and laid next to Shikamaru.

"Hey, I'm not gonna pet you all night," Shikamaru told the cat.

Akumu purred while laying on his stomach.

'Alright, this is happening then,' He thought.

Kyoko shifted in her sleep and her arms wrapped around Shikamaru's arm, snuggling his side.

"Jeez, you both are troublesome," Shikamaru said before falling asleep.

~.~

'Look, the only reason why I explained how Future Vision worked was because it's too early for you to try learning it,' Fuzen sighed, 'I bet you didn't even noticed that you had fallen asleep and that the Nara boy had to carry you back home.'

'...what?' I questioned.

'Geez, you're hopeless,' Fuzen sighed, 'I'm gonna let you sleep. You have class tomorrow.'

'Wait!' I shouted, but Fuzen's silhouette already had disappeared.

'...damn it,' I sighed, 'Guess it wouldn't hurt to sleep.'

~.~

My mind was woken up by the sounds of birds, my eyes were still closed, my body and mind begged to sleep a little longer.

'That's different,' I thought, as I laid in bed, 'I needa get up. I feel just as lazy as the Nara.'

'...wait a minute...weren't we at the fields..?' I wondered.

I then remembered what had happened last night.

'Man, he must have brought me home or something, most productive thing he's ever done,' I thought. Even thought my mind was awake, my body wasn't, I felt like I couldn't move. It's like my body was telling me to stay in the embrace of warmth that surrounded me.

My eyes fluttered opened. I realized why I couldn't move. I was stuck in a hug. Shikamaru must've moved in his sleep and happened to wrap his arms around me. His face was close. I tried to remove my arms that were trapped under his.

'I'm not a teddy bear, let me go!' I thought, trying to wiggle out of his grasp.

I finally got one arm out, I smirked.

'Ha, not so strong now, are yo-' my thoughts were interrupted by a stronger hug, 'No! We have class!'

I tried to look away from his face, it didn't help that he was only 3 inches away from my face. I could feel my face warming up.

"N-Nara," I said softly, nudging him.

Shikamaru stirred in his sleep, I stopped moving to see if he would wake up. His arms moved from my upper body to my waist, pulling me closer to him. My head was now against his chest.

'He's stronger than I thought...he wasn't like that when we were sparring,' I thought, 'Hmm...what if?'

I reached over to his sides and began to lightly tickle him. After the first few moments, nothing. Soon I heard a light chuckle which became an outburst of laughter. I felt him release me and I stopped. I turned to the Nara who was still laughing, slowly recovering from my tickle attack.

"Stop cuddling with me, we'll be late for school if you keep doing that," I told him, my face was a light pink.

Shikamaru looked at me.

"I'm not the one cuddling with you, your the one who started hugging me in their sleep on the first night," Shikamaru told me.

I looked at him with disbelief.

"Liar, we're gonna be late," I told him dropping the subject.

I tried to get out of bed but was somehow pinned down by Shikamaru.

'If he can pin me down like this, he should've been good at taijutsu,' I thought.

"You think I'm gonna let you get away for tickling me like that?" Shikamaru smirked.

My eyes were huge.

'Oh shit no,' I thought, trying to get out of his grip but he had begun tickling my sides.

Unfortunately for me, my sides were exposed, so it would tickle me more than it should. I began laughing, trying to get him to stop.

"S-stop!" I cried out, laughing.

"Nah, I think I'll keep going," the Nara told me. I continued to laugh, tears fell from my eyes from laughing too hard.

"S-stop! I'm g-gonna die!" I told him, laughing in between words.

"Admit that you started cuddling with me first," Shikamaru smirked.

'Oh so that's what this is about,' I thought, still laughing like crazy.

"N-no!" I cried out as Shikamaru tickled me more.

"Alright, you asked for it," He told me.

I was laughing like there was no tomorrow, this was entertaining for Shikamaru.

We heard a knock on the door, making Shikamaru stop, giving me a chance to kick him off me. The door opened and Kakashi popped his head in. He just saw me on my bed, while Shikamaru was on the floor.

"It's great you guys are getting along, but it's a little early in the morning for this, don't you think?" Kakashi told us.

"He/She started it," Me and Shikamaru said at the same time, pointing at each other.

"Uh-huh," Kakashi said, "Just don't be so loud where we'll get noise complaints."

Kakashi closed the door, leaving me and Shikamaru as we were.

"Man, I never thought I'd see you laugh," Shikamaru smirked.

"Like I had a choice," I told him.

I took out a kunai and used it like a mirror. My face was pretty red from how much I laughed.

"...did you pull that out from your pillow- actually, I don't wanna know. Come on, we're gonna be late," Shikamaru told me, getting up.

"That's what I was telling you!" I told him, quickly getting up.

We quickly brushed our teeth and washed our faces before going downstairs.

"Should I ask what was happening upstairs?" Kakashi asked us.

We looked at each other and back at the older ninja.

"Nope," We said at the same time.

Kakashi raised an eyebrow.

"Didn't sound like nothing, sounded like Kyoko was laughing for the first time," Kakashi joked. Shikamaru snicked.

"So funny I forgot to laugh," I rolled my eyes.

"I can remind you again," Shikamaru smirked.

I backed away.

"Stay away, or I'll kick you ass," I warned.

"Kidding," Shikamaru said nervously.

"Catch," I told him, throwing a muffin at him.

"Did you already feed Akumu?" I asked Kakashi.

"Yup," He told me.

"We better get going," Shikamaru told me.

"Okay," I said, "We're leaving."

We both rushed out the door. Kakashi just went to do...whatever Kakashi does.

~.~

We luckily arrived before class started. But of course, everyone was in class already. We walked towards our seats.

"We made it," I sighed, letting my head rest on my desk.

"You look tired," Shikamaru told me.

"Yeah, I don't know why," I sighed, closing my eyes.

I suddenly felt someone touching my hair. I opened my eyes and turned my body to see Ino and Kiba behind me.

"...what did you do?" I asked.

"I just wanted to tie your hair up," Ino told me, handing me a mirror, "You know, I heard that if you didn't get a good night's sleep or can't sleep, it means someone's thinking about you."

She had tied my hair into a high ponytail, the hair tie had a navy blue bow with white stripes.

"I really doubt that anyone would be thinking about me that late at night," I told her, "Thanks...but I'm not really a bow person."

"But it looks really cute on you! I don't wear blue, but I thought it would be perfect on you!" Ino told me.

"Uh..." I sighed, "If you can tie it tighter then I'll wear it."

Ino smiled and I let her tie my hair up again.

I heard a bark and noticed Akumaru popping out of Kiba's jacket.

"Seems like someone's happy to see you," Kiba said, picking up the dog and putting him onto the ground.

"Hi sweetheart," I said, as Akamaru tried to jump onto my lap.

The poor dog was still too small to jump that high.

"Don't move," Ino told me.

"You're taking a long time just for a ponytail," I told her.

"Well...I started playing with your hair," She admitted, "It's so thick, and so soft. With hair like this, you shouldn't waste it, think of all the possible hair styles!"

"Uh, the most I do is tie it up," I said, causing Ino to become dramatically depress.

"But why! Your hair is so long! I could do so many braids, curl it, straighten it, everything!" Ino exclaimed.

I simply shook my head.

"It either goes into a simple ponytail or I leave it like this," I stated.

"Keep growing it, and your gonna become Rapunzel, then Ino will never leave your hair alone," Shikamaru joked.

Kiba snickered in the background.

"YES! Kyoko, NEVER cut your hair," Ino told me in a very serious tone.

I gave her a look before pulling out a kunai.

"Time for a haircut," I said, holding the kunai to my own hair.

"NOOOO!" Ino cried out trying to stop me.

I put the throwing knife down and put my hands up in defense.

"I was just kidding," I told her.

Ino gave me a serious look, then suddenly smirked.

"See? You do care about your hair!" Ino smiled.

"I'm due for a haircut," I said, noticing how long my bangs were getting, "Class is gonna start soon. Either put my hair up or go sit back down."

"Okay, okay," Ino said, quickly tying my hair into a high ponytail, leaving my bangs, "There, doesn't she look so cute with the bow?" She asked Shikamaru and Kiba.

"You look nice with your hair up," Kiba told me.

"If it get's outta the way, then it doesn't matter too much to me," I said.

"You can see more of your features," Ino told me, "Ohh you're so cute!"

She pulled me into a hug.

"I-Ino!" I shouted, trying to get her hands off me.

~.~

For the past few days, I had gotten used to being surrounded by people...sort of. I finally gave in and considered the people around me as "Acquaintances" but Shikamaru says that what I mean is that I considers them as friends. The Nara constantly drags me to hang out with the others instead of training. I only agree to go with them because I couldn't train with the Nara. Naruto keeps acting stupid and gets punched by Sakura, constantly. I had also joined occasionally. Ino was still on a mission to do something my hair and face, I only let her touch my hair. Letting her do braids and such. Kiba seemed reckless but still respectful...to a certain degree, and Akamaru was still adorable as hell. Fuzen had left me alone for a while, but I didn't really complain. Shikamaru and I would, for some reason, wake up in each others arms. We'd blame each other, and it's either me or Shikamaru pinned down being tickled the hell out of them by the other. Kakashi told us we had to stop cause he finally got a noise complaint. Now was the final day of the week, and Iruka Sensei had told us that he'd set us free before lunch.

'Finally, it's the last day,' I thought to myself as I woke up.

I felt arms around me.

"Nara, get off of me," I said, trying to shake Shikamaru awake, "Today's the day we get separated, get up, I don't wanna be stuck to you forever."

Shikamaru looked at me.

"What? That's hurtful, how could you be so mean to me?" He said in an exaggerated hurt voice.

"I do what I want," I said casually, joking a bit.

I've started making more jokes and be a lot more sarcastic, as a joke, being around more people.

"Come on, get up, lazy ass," I said, pulling him outta bed, making sure I didn't fall backwards.

"Fine, fine," He sighed.

Shikamaru followed me downstairs. I spotted Akumu begging Kakashi for his food downstairs.

'Akumu, you little freeloader,' I smirked.

"Good morning," Kakashi greeted.

"Morning," I yawned.

I looked at Shikamaru who had his normal lazy expression on.

"I did not make anything for today, let's go early and maybe we can pick something up on the way," I suggested.

Shikamaru simply nodded in agreement.

"We're going," I announced to Kakashi as I slipped on my ninja sandals.

Akumu rubbed his head against my leg as a way of saying goodbye. I scratched behind his ears before leaving.
