Lizzie and Josie

Lizzie was sitting in the living room with Josie trying to get out of her what was happening with her and Penelope and why she kept the pregnancy a secret. It was clear to Lizzie that her sister was hiding something from her and she had to know what that was. She tried to ask her in a nice way, but she was not getting answers. Now she was nervous and being very mean to Josie.

''Why are you protecting Satan?''

''I am not…''

''Who leaves their wife alone and pregnant?''

''She has work.''

''She always had work, but with twins shew as there.''

''Well, now she is not.''

''Are two of you ok?''

''We are fine Lizzie.''

There was someone at the door. Josie hoped it was not Landon. Seeing him would really not work for her. They kissed two days ago when she went to the doctors but it was just a spur of the moment. They heard the heartbeats, babies were good…and it just happened. It didn't mean anything to her. She opened the door and saw a courier on the bike.

''How can I help you?''

''Mrs. Josette Park?''

''Yes…''

''You've been served.''

He gave her the envelope and she opened it. She recognized Penelope's handwriting and she was shocked when she saw divorce papers and a short note that a courier will pick them up tomorrow morning when she signs. That post it left her shocked. To Penelope there was no option of not signing and ending their marriage.

She held the envelope and read the papers. To be honest, Penelope was very generous with these papers and she would be a fool not to sign them, but she couldn't… How could she end the marriage? When she puts her signature, that is the end of her and Penelope. Their story is over forever. Lizzie showed up behid her.

''What is it?''

''Nothing…''

She pulled the papers out of Jose's hands and just looked at her in shock.

''Divorce papers? And you are pregnant? What is wrong with that Bitch?''

''Lizzie, stay out of it!''

''What? She can't just leave you after she knocked you up again?!''

''Lizzie…''

''We have to go and see a lawyer…''

Lizzie grabbed the papers and started walking to the direction of Landon's and Mary's house. Josie shouted for Helena to get downstairs and take care of the kids. She had to prevent the mess. She couldn't catch up with Lizzie in time. She had no idea where her sister went. She tried calling Lizzie, but she was not answering the phone. Helena just held Lizzie's baby in her hands and she didn't say anything. Josie was pretty sure she knew about the papers.

''You knew?''

''I just found out minute before you got them. Mom called to tell me.''

''I had no idea she would do this.''

''Yes, you did… You know mom… She loves you, but I think she can't swallow the extent of the betrayal.''

''I need to lie down.''

She went upstairs and got into bed. She couldn't stop crying. It finally hit her that it was over between her and Penelope and this time, it was Penelope who ended things.

Lizzie showed up at Mary's and Landon's door. May was surprised to see her.

''Lizzie? Why are you here?''

''I need your advice as a lawyer.''

She handed Mary the envelope.

''What is this?''

''Divorce papers.''

''You and Sebastian?''

''No, not us…''

Mary looked at Lizzie expecting more.

''Bitch sent Josie divorce papers…''

Mary was in shock.

''What? Penelope sent papers to Josie?! I didn't see that coming. I believed their marriage was solid.''

''She got Josie pregnant and now she is serving her with divorce papers… I wanted you to see them and see if she is trying to cheat Josie out of what belongs to her.''

''Ok, let's get in.''

Mary got the papers out and started reading. She took a seat at the dining room table and went through each page few times.

''It's actually pretty good deal… She listed that they are getting a divorce because of Irreconcilable differences. That is what many people put as their reason for divorce. There is not much here to know what is the real reason. Penelope is a lawyer, she did an excellent job with this. It tight clad and no one could imagine what the reason is for them to get to this point. ''

Lizzie was not surprised that Penelope made good divorce settlement leaving it vague as much as she could. Something else got Mary's attention.

''I am confused to why she only talks about three kids… And there is not mention of the other kids or kid that may come out of this pregnancy…''

Lizzie jumped like someone poured hot water over her.

''What? She is washing her hands out from this pregnancy? Oh, I will destroy the bitch… I will tell everyone in the restaurant what sort of person she is.''

Mary felt something else in the envelope. She got out pictures of Josie and Landon, all the copies of the hotel footage, hotel bills. Mary just looked at it and Lizzie was looking at her.

''What is that in your hands?''

Mary just looked at Lizzie and her eyes became teary.

''God damn you Penelope Park!''

''That, Elizabeth, is the answer to your question what went wrong and the ''bitch'' decided to leave Josie.''

She threw papers and pictures at the table and got up to go to the kitchen and pour something for both of them to drink. Lizzie took the papers and pictures and just dropped to the chair.

''It was not Penelope who cheated on Josie…''

''Looks like it's the opposite…and that she's been fucking my husband.''

''I can't believe this.''

''Well, I can… I saw it happening.''

''And you said nothing?''

''I had just a feeling, no evidence.''

''Well, now you have it.''

''Now I have it… And you have it too Lizzie.''

''What does that mean?''

''That means that you should kiss Penelope's ass.''

'"What?''

''She could have left Josie without house or any spousal support… She could have left her in the streets and could have taken boys and Helena from her. This divorce is a dream come true for someone in Josie's situation. She even made sure to send her good support…so she can have money for the baby she is having now…. She knew there is no way for Landon to support five or four kids…So, the bitch you are talking about, is going to support Landon's kid too.''

Lizzie looked at Mary that was slowly falling apart. She realized at that moment that she broke her family apart and felt really guilty over it.

''I am sorry.''

''What for?''

''For ending your marriage and destroying your family.''

''You didn't do it Lizzie… They did it… You had nothing to do with this… it was just…weird circumstances that got you here.''

''But still… If I didn't show up…''

''Penelope and Josie would have had their divorce, we would hate Penelope for leaving pregnant Josie and Josie and Landon would continue to lie to all of us.''

'"Why do you say it?''

''Because with the money Penelope would give her every month, Josie could be single mother of four kids. She gave them a chance to end it and not ruin our family…since hers and Josie's is broken now.''

Lizzie gathered all the papers, pictures and divorce papers back into the envelope.

''Leve me the statements and pictures.''

'"What?''

''I need to do my reckoning with the jerk.''

''Oh.''

She got the out and left them on the table. Marry put them into some folder from her work and put them in her bag.

''Are you ok?''

''I don't know how I feel… There are a lot of emotions..''

Lizzie got up and went for the door.

''I have to go back to Josie's… I have to pick up my kid and give this back to her.''

''I'll see you around Lizzie.''

''I am sorry again.''

''It's not your fault… It's theirs…''

Lizzie went and Mary stayed sitting on the chair for a moment more.

Mary and Penelope

Penelope was sitting in her room and reading the files she got from one of the team members. She felt her phone vibrating and froze when she saw Mary's name. It took her a moment but she answered.

''I could have bet you wouldn't answer.''

''Hey Mary.''

''Hey Penelope…''

There was a silent moment.

''Are you ok Mary?''

''I would have been better if you were the one to tell me.''

''How did you find out? Did they finally come clean?''

''No, your little gift from the divorce envelope found a way to me.''

''How?''

''Lizzie was pissed at you and came here to see if you are trying to screw Josie out of something that belongs to her. But she forgot to look at the envelope for more than papers. So, she stormed into my place, my guess is that she stole the papers from Josie. She came to ask for my legal advice.

''Shit!''

''I agree Park…''

''I did want to tell you… But she is pregnant… I had to…''

''Protect her? By letting me live a lie? Penelope…''

''I am sorry…''

''My husband and your wife have been doing this behind our backs…and you are protecting her… You are an idiot Penelope Park.''

''I know.''

''Who else knows?''

''Helena, you, me and Lizzie… No one else knows… Hope has some doubts, but has no idea who is the person Josie was…''

''Helena?''

'"She caught them in our house… They had sex in our bed.''

''I feel sick… I want to burn our bed now… They probably did it here too when the kids had sleepovers or something.''

''I don't know… That is the question you would have to ask him. I didn't want the details.''

Penelope heard her pour a drink.

''Are you drunk Mary?''

''I don't know… I am many things right now.''

Mary was silent and Penelope waited for her to say something.

''Maybe it would make me feel better if we did?''

Penelope had to laugh.

''Good to know you get flexible when pissed off and drunk .''

''You are good looking Park, so I guess it wouldn't be hard to have sex with you? Maybe if I am drunk enough it would work even better.''

''Someone needs to trim that ego of yours Penelope.''

Mary started laughing so hard that she ended up crying.

Same questions Penelope had on her mind since she found out about the pregnancy and everything.

''Josei felt lonely, unloved and invalidated. And my guess is that you took away your husband's nuts.''

Both women made disgusted faces.

''I so didn't need that picture in my mind Penelope.''

''Me neither.''

''When are you coming home?''

''In few days.''

''Can we have a drink?''

''Sure, but no sex.''

They ended the conversation and Penelope put the phone away. She felt relief that Mary knew now and that she was not alone in all this. She heard her phone again and the name on the screen surprised her. Lizzie
