A/N: First off I want to apologize for the wait, I had so many tests and assignments this week that I didn't know if I finish I could finish this up. Expect a longer chapter next time though.
Disclaimer: RWBY doesn't belong to me but if it did, Arkos would never sink.
Chapter 1: Meet the doctor
From the moment he woke up he knew something was wrong. The feeling of black fabric around him, the lack of light, the rumble of a car engine and the laughter of strangers all informed him of one thing, He'd been kidnapped. He felt like he should be surprised but he wasn't, his family was well known and rich, his parents being huntsmen made sure of that and he was also known in Ansel as a genius, graduating ten years early tends to do that. Maybe that wasn't such a good idea.
By the time the vehicle stopped, a couple minutes had passed if his infernal clock was anything to go by. He didn't know the car type so he couldn't calculate the speed, neither did he know how long he'd been unconscious for so he couldn't guess his location. Not knowing things angered him, as did not setting up defenses in his room to prevent a kidnapping. He knew something like this could happen, but he assumed it would be when he had done something notable. Anyone with a high enough IQ could do what he did so that wasn't exactly something t boast about no matter what his parents said.
Rough hands grabbing onto his arms pulled him from his thoughts, he'd been placed on someone's shoulder and carried around for a bit before he was thrown roughly on a concrete floor.
"Untie him and remove the bag but remember, no funny stuff or you get a bullet in your brain." He felt smaller hands remove the ropes that bound him as well the bag on his head. It took time a couple of minutes to adjust to the lack of light in the room he was placed in. It was a surprisingly clean gray colored room with two hospital like beds on either side with toilets beside each. The only source of light was from the cell door and the windows above each bed
"Another one huh" he looked towards the voice to see a blond haired monkey faunus with tanned skin and rags a white short sleeved short and pants lying on one of the beds. "Name's Sun Wukong, although I doubt it'll matter."
"And why's that?" asked Jaune speaking for the first time that day.
"They always carry the kids they bring here somewhere else, they never come back."
"Ransom?"
"I have no idea, I thought so at first but remembered they never asked for our parent's numbers." This complicated things, did they want him for his IQ, that seemed highly unlikely. "So what's your name?"
"Jaune Arc."
"Ok Jaune Arc…" the monkey faunus picked up a small piece of chalk that sat beside him and started writing on the wall.
"What are you doing?" writing your name, I always write down the name of everyone they bring here" Jaune looked around and saw a lot of names carved out on the wall, up to a fifty.
"And how long have you been here?"
"A month" they finished writing and dusted off his hands. "The last guy's the one that wrote down most of this names. Can't seem to recall his though."
"Hey brats!" they both looked at they cell door to see a guard slide two trays of food under they door. "Eat up, the boss wants you healthy." The guard then walked away. The food he brought was a bowl of rice and a piece of meat along with a cup of water.
"They're treating us well for prisoners." Said Jaune as he walked over and grabbed both trays passing one to Sun on his way back.
"Yeah they always did that, don't know why though."
"Psychological tactics. Making us let our guards down."
"I taught so too but look around this cell, everything's so clean, the one time I fell sick I was given medicine. That's a bit too much isn't it?"
'Yes, yes it is." Clean room, healthy living conditions, good food. They were being kept healthy. No kidnapper would go this far for ransom, too much money was being spent. That left only one thing, and he hoped he was wrong. "Experiments, they're experimenting on us."
"Huh"
"Think about it. If you want to conduct an experiment with the most accurate results, you would want to keep the patients healthy."
"So all those other people…"
"Are most likely dead. How long do people stay before they're taken away?"
"A couple days, some a week but never anything longer." That didn't explain why the faunus was still here. Wait, Faunus! "Was there ever another faunus except from you?"
"The last guy who wrote the names was a panther faunus, except from him no one."
"That explains it."
"Explains what?"
"The immune systems of faunus are greater than that of humans. They probably didn't need a lot." He put down his empty plate and laid on they bed.
"You're awfully calm about all this"
"Emotions such as fear only halt one's mental capacity. That's something I don't need."
"Aren't you afraid of dying."
"I feel something in my chest" he stared at his hand then clenched it tightly. "But I won't acknowledge such a feeble emotion." He picked up a piece of chalk that lay on the floor and marked a day on the wall. "All I can do is wait and see"
Time skip: One Month
In the past month a total of five children had come and gone, their ages ranged from 10-16 and was a mix between male and female. All had cried when they arrived, all had cried when they were carried away much to the annoyance of the blondes in the room. Now it was their turn. In a shocking twist the guards had carried them both and once more placed bags on their heads. A few minutes of walking later and they were both strapped to beds by their arms and feet.
'So, this is how I go, dying from a weapon's test by some crazy scientist' he let out a sigh 'Even in the face of death I still don't feel fear' the bag was taken off his head.
"W-w-welcome c-c-children" he looked towards the voice to see a light dark-skinned man with a ponytail wearing a white lab coat and glasses holding a clipboard. "My n-n-name is Angelo Agnus; I am the head scientist in this facility"
"Where are we?" asked Sun from his bed
"S-s-such information isn't important you"
"Then why are we here?"
"For science" he walked over to a table and picked up a syringe with a black substance. "You see, Grimm had always f-f-f-f-fascinated me, they're physical structures resemble that of normal animals y-y-yet their capabilities always fascinated me. So, I t-t-thought why not combine humans and grimm." He flicked the needle to remove residual air. "Unfortunately, all the previous patients died. I almost g-g-g-gave up b-b-b-but" he pointed at both blondes. "I f-f-f-forgot about one feature, Aura. For some reason all t-t-t-the other victims had their aura unlocked, probably wanted to be hunters. But you t-t-two didn't" Now…. To see if my plans work." He jabbed the needle into Jaune's arm.
At first there was a cold feeling flowing through his body from the insertion point, like all the warmth in his body was being sucked away.
Then there was pain.
A/N: I hope you all enjoyed the chapter, remember to review as it helps me see where to improve.
