Anna's heart stutters to a halt; her breath leaves her body and she can't quite catch it. A complete freeze. Even Elsa doesn't move, waiting for her to say something.

At least, she doesn't until she does, her hand tightening around Anna's.

"Anna?" Elsa's voice is so sweet, so soft. Anna could listen to it forever.

But then there's a kick, below her palm, and Anna slumps. Her head falls forward, shoulders lifting to her ears as she brings her free hand up to shield her eyes. Everything hits at once.

She cries.
