AN: So i'm still alive and kicking been working away and keeping myself sane. Hope all of you are as well.
As always I own nothing other than my plot. Oh and the errors... *sigh*... those are mine.
Stay Sexy lovelies and enjoy.
It had also been two weeks since the funeral services for the two Berry men and Ray had been withdrawn into himself as he realized just how resentful and bitter he truly was at the two men who had robbed him of so much that he still couldn't quite fathom why or how someone could do that to their child, let alone two individuals who had to face constant adversity simply because they loved who they loved, But underneath all that bitter resentment, he was hurt and a part of his spirit had been broken. The two men had always preached about how a person just needed to be themselves and that the people who mattered would accept you no matter what clothes you wore, who you loved or what gender you were. At the funeral home before the service began he had been given time alone with two men's remains where he placed an envelope each in their caskets. He had written letters to both of them that expressed how he truly felt about them and called them out on their hypocrisy for preaching to Ray about how he needed to accept who he was and once he did that others would as well. Yet they couldn't accept that the child they had wasn't a little girl, that the child they had was a genetic anomaly. How they had tried to force Ray into a box from the beginning instead of letting nature take its course, causing him so much pain and strife in his day to day life. Then the icing on the cake was that they had deliberately misled him about his birth mother. He had been enlightened to an interesting tidbit of information when he was in Italy. His mother was very much alive and well.
Ray was having lunch with his aunt at a quaint bistro that his driver had taken them to when said driver had whispered in his ear that his employer had requested a dinner meeting with him and his aunt that evening. Ray had looked up and nodded his agreeance. He quickly told his aunt that they now had dinner plans. Ray wrote down on the napkin who the dinner was with and once Sue read what was written he burned the napkin until there was nothing left. He didn't elaborate too much as he knew that the Policia were still watching his every move, hoping to catch him doing something wrong so the dirty cops could have a reason to try and extort money from him. The two enjoyed their lunch and Ray had even bought lunch for his driver. A couple hours later he was getting out of the car absolutely enchanted with the architecture of the villa that he and his aunt had been brought to. He and his aunt were greeted at the door by a security guard masquerading as a butler. When the man attempted to pat both him and his aunt down, Ray snapped and stated that on no uncertain terms would anyone be touching either his God mother or himself. He had been invited not the other way around. The only act he would allow for security purposes would be the waving of an electronic wand that was designed to detect any type of listening device. He and his aunt had already turned off their cell phones so it was impossible to hack them and turn on the mics in them. The guard attempted to stare the young man down Ray sighed and motioned to his aunt that they were leaving. Ray had just taken his first step towards the car when a booming voice rang out, yelling at the bodyguard. Ray had to suppress his laughter when he heard the voice chewing a strip off the man at the door, stating that there was a reason that he was no more than a glorified butler in his home but that was going to change as of later that night. The man had paled at the hidden threat and promise of pain.
"Signore Ray, I must apologize for this imbecile's insulting behaviour. Apparently he did not listen when it was announced that you and your Godmother were expected this evening for dinner and to be treated as a regular family member." He once again cut his gaze to glare at the pseudo butler and Ray thought the man was going to piss himself, he caught his aunts snort of amusement and was unable to contain his smirk.
They were led inside the house to an office to get the main reason why Ray had contacted the man in the first place. He had to show the man the paperwork that had been left to him and explained in great detail as to why he believed what he did about the woman. The paperwork regarding her death that they had left him when they had him emancipated were forgeries. Along with a false paper trail that was planted by the two men. They did that knowing that he would eventually look into who she was.
When he found out he was stunned, no, he was shocked. His biological grandfather had shown him photos of his mother; the most recent picture had been taken during the summer. It wasn't until the man placed a call in front of him that he broke out of his shocked stupor. When he heard an older female voice answer the call "Hi daddy, can I call you back? I'm still in the middle of rehearsals with the glee club." The man smiled and replied that it was no problem that he must have confused the time difference once again and would talk to her later. Once Ray snapped out of his shock he was still wide eyed and speechless. The man had laughed and poured a small amount of an Italian liqueur into a tumbler and passed it to Ray. He had advised the young man that they had been waiting for over 16 years to meet him, he was family now and that Ray could call the man Papa if he felt comfortable doing so. Ray tossed back the liqueur with ease and was surprised at the sweet taste, before stating that he was ready to meet the others. It was a very interesting conversation when he met his mother's family. His grandmother cried when she first set eyes on him stating that he was the spitting image of his mother.
Ray was broken out of his memory as the band kids and Noah arrived in the auditorium. It was near the end of his free period and Glee would start right after. He grabbed his guitar from Noah and handed out the music for the song he had written to the band. Once everyone was ready, he began to play. They played just an instrumental version of the song first making sure everyone was comfortable.
Ray gave a small smile as it sounded great. He hadn't realized that the sound of the timpani drums and the strings would draw a small crowd of students, mostly the glee kids. He counted everyone in for a second time, after everyone had a quick drink of water, and this time he began to sing.
Disarm you with a smile
And cut you like you want me to
Cut that little child
Inside of me and such a part of you
Ooh, the years burn
Ooh, the years burn
I used to be a little boy
So old in my shoes
And what I choose is my choice
What's a boy supposed to do?
The killer in me is the killer in you
My love
I send this smile over to you
Ray sang with such emotion that those who were in the auditorium could literally feel his heart ache.
Disarm you with a smile
And leave you like they left me here
To wither in denial
The bitterness of one who's left alone
Ooh, the years burn
Ooh, the years burn, burn, burn
I used to be a little boy
So old in my shoes
And what I choose is my voice
What's a boy supposed to do?
The killer in me is the killer in you
My love
I send this smile over to you
The killer in me is the killer in you
Send this smile over to you
The killer in me is the killer in you
Send this smile over to you
The killer in me is the killer in you
Send this smile over to you
By the end of the song, those who hadn't already had tears in their eyes, had them then.
Shelby had rushed onto the stage and engulfed Ray into a tight hug. She whispered in Italian that he no longer had to feel alone that she would be there for him whenever he needed her.
"Thanks mom. But what are you doing here?"
"Oh I was visiting Sue and she advised me that you had a free period and would probably be here."
Ray chuckled as he saw his aunt peek her head out from behind the curtain and waved.
"Did you want to stay and hear the songs that we are performing today?"
Shelby nodded with a smile on her face before going to find a seat with Sue. Ray was silently thanking that his Aunt had come with Shelby as it prevented the rest of the club from asking nosy questions for the moment at least.
Ray had already told his mom about the assignment that Mr. Schuster had given them. The man had wanted them to perform songs from soundtracks that were considered underrated. They could sing solo or in groups. He had given them two weeks instead of the usual one week as he had placed limitations and said absolutely no Broadway musicals much to Kurt's displeasure. However Ray had taken pity on Kurt and offered him a song that he thought would be perfect for him, if he was willing to work with Ray and sing in a different key. Kurt had performed his song the day before. Everyone else had performed leaving just Ray, Noah and the Unholy Trinity. They flipped a coin as to if the group songs would go first or the solo's. The group of friends had the teacher flip and the solo's won the flip. Ray and Noah quickly discussed how they wanted to do things. Ray said that he would go first as his song was slower and the other three were fast. That and it would give him a small break before he had to play the drums on the group songs.
Tender Years from Eddie and the Cruisers
When the moon hung soft and low
Catchin stardust in the light.
You held me closer and closer
There was magic in the night.
A sweet love song, a melody that I still can recall.
Two young hearts filled with dreams
To walk away with it all.
Whoa whoa tender years
wont you wash away my tears.
How I wish you were here
Please dont go tender years.
A summer love, a beach romance
sought her kisses in the sand.
Two young hearts filled with fire.
Lost in never-neverland.
Whoa whoa tender years
Wont you wash away my tears
How I wish you were here.
Please dont go tender years.
The sax player came in with the perfect solo and Ray nodded along before he picked up the chorus again.
Whoa whoa tender years
wont you wash away my tears.
How I wish you were here
Please dont go tender years.
X2
Ray moved to the music as the sax player picked up the solo again until Brad played the haunting outro of the song. The piano notes giving the majority of the gleeks goosebumps.
"Dammit Ray, stop hitting people in their feels already." Santana grumbled at him.
Ray smirked at the cheerleader before grabbing his bass guitar and swapping places with Noah.
The Dark Side - Eddie and the Crusiers
The dark side's callin' now, nothin' is real
She'll never know just how I feel
From out of the shadows she walks like a dream
Make me feel crazy, make me feel so mean
Ain't nothin' gonna save you from the love that's blind
Slip to the dark side and cross that line
On the dark side, oh yeah
On the dark side, oh yeah
Ray and the rest of the band kids began to clap leaving just Noah and the drummer playing for a few bars before he began playing his bass.
Ain't nothin' gonna save you from the love that's blind
Slip to the dark side and cross that line

On the dark side, oh yeah
On the dark side, oh yeah
On the dark side, oh yeah
The gleeks clapped for Puck, and Ray conversed with the Unholy trinity and Brad as to which song they wanted to play first. Brad asked if it was possible to save the more upbeat of the two songs for last as he would need to rest after playing anyway. The group agreed that was fair. The lights had dimmed the area where the guitar cases were and where the drums were set up so none of the gleeks were able to see Ray put his bass away and grab his drum sticks. He got situated behind the school's drum kit and once he was comfortable after minor adjustments were made and he removed his sweater he nodded to Noah to count them in. The stage went dark for a minute before a soft spotlight appeared showing the silhouette of two singers.
Tonight is What it means to be Young - Streets of Fire
Written by Jim Steinman (So you know it's going to be long)
(Brittnay)
I've got a dream 'bout an angel on the beach
And the perfect waves are starting to come
His hair is flying out in ribbons of gold
And his touch has got the power to stun
I've got a dream 'bout an angel in the forest
Enchanted by the edge of a lake
His body's flowing in the jewels alive
And the earth below is starting to shake
(Santana)
But I don't see any angels in the city
I don't hear any holy choirs sing
And if I can't get an angel
I can still get a boy
And a boy'll be the next best thing
The next best thing to an angel
A boy'll be the next best thing
I've got a dream 'bout a boy in a castle
And he's dancing like a cat on the stairs
He's got the fire of a prince in his eyes
And the thunder of a drum in his ears
As the music picked up, the lighting changed to reveal Noah playing lead guitar, Quinn playing bass and Ray on the drums. He smirked at the shocked faces of the other gleeks.
(Brittnay and Ray)
I've got a dream 'bout a boy on a star
Lookin' down upon the rim of the world
He's there all alone and dreamin' of someone like me
I'm not an angel but at least I'm a girl
I've got a dream when the darkness is over
We'll be lyin' in the rings of the sun
But it's only a dream and tonight is for real
You'll never know what it means
But you'll know how it feels
It's gonna be over (over) (All)
Before you know it's begun
(Before you know it's begun)
(All)
It's all we really got tonight
Stop your cryin' hold on (tonight)
Before you know it it's gone (tonight)
Tonight is what it means to be young
Tonight is what it means to be young

At the end of the song, Ray stripped off his vest and long sleeved shirt leaving him shirtless for a moment as he grabbed the towel from his case and wiped down his chest and back before putting his vest back on. He smirked when he heard the cat call from Santana and blew her a sarcastic kiss before he winked at Quinn. Once she gave the signal she was ready Ray began and 20 seconds later Brad began to play. Shelby recognizing the song began to clap to the music)
Nowhere Fast - Streets of Fire
Written by Jim Steinman
(Quinn)
Lying in your bed and on a Saturday night
You're sweatin' buckets and it's not even hot
But your brain has got the message
And it's sending it out
To every nerve and every muscle you've got
You've got so many dreams
That you don't know where to put 'em
So you'd better turn a few of 'em loose
Your body's got a feeling that it's starting to rust
You'd better rev it up and put it to use
(Santana)
And I don't know how I ever thought that I could make it all alone
When you only make it better (The unholy trinity)
And it better be tonight (The unholy trinity)
And we'll fly away on those angel wings of chrome in your daddy's car (Santana)
Waiting there for you tonight (The unholy trinity)
I'll be there for you tonight (The unholy trinity)
(The unholy trinity)
Even if you don't have anywhere to go
You go down on the pedal and you're ready to roll
And even if you don't have anywhere to go
You go down on the pedal and you're ready to roll
And your speed
Is all you'll ever need
All you'll ever need to know
Darlin', darlin'
You and me we're goin' nowhere slowly
And we've gotta get away from the past
There's nothin' wrong with goin' nowhere, baby
But we should be goin' nowhere fast
(UnHoly Trinity + Puck)
Everybody's goin' nowhere slowly
They're only fighting for the chance to be last
There's nothin' wrong with goin' nowhere, baby
But we should be goin' nowhere fast
It's so much better goin' nowhere fast
(Quinn and Brittnay)
Stalkin' in the shadows by the light of the moon
It's like a prison and the night is a cell
Goin' anywhere has gotta be heaven tonight
'Cause stayin' here has gotta be hell
Dyin' in the city like a fire on the water
Let's go runnin' on the back of the wind
There's gotta be some action on the face of the earth
And I've gotta see your face once again
(Santana)
And I don't know where I ever got the bright idea that I was cool
So alone and independent (All)
But I'm depending on you now (All)
And you'll always be the only thing that I just can't be without
And I'm out for you tonight
I'm comin' out for you tonight
(The trinity)
Even if you don't have anywhere to go
You go down on the pedal and you're ready to roll (ready to roll)
Even if you don't have anywhere to go
You go down on the pedal and you're ready to roll
And your speed
Is all you'll ever need
All you'll ever need to know
Darlin', darlin'
