Chapter 3: Start of the End
Nobody had stayed to the last ember of the pyre went out. All were gone but one. Artemis watched till the last ashes off her brother and his pyre blow away in the wind. Her tears still falling. As night turned to day. She whimpered at the dawn light. The sun was no longer her brother. It no longer felt like him. IT felt wrong to her. It was not natural for her.
"I love you my brother", Artemis whispers to the wind
Artemis moves to where the pyre had burnt just hours before. The ash still on the ground. Trembling she raised her hands and chanted.
Flowers of forget-me-nots and a new flower that was gold with silver suns on it rose from the earth.
"Sunlace", Artemis whispers, "For you my Sun. Only for you. Only will be able to grow here on Delos. The home off our birth"
Artemis continues to weave her hands and Poppy's also appear wrapped in the other flowers. With Gladiolus flowers joining the others they symbolized remembrance and honour. Pansy's join the other flowers.
She even grows Purple Hyacinth's. Which Apollo himself had created so long ago.
Then she makes golden roses.
"Sunrose. Again for you my Sun", Artemis whispers
All these flowers entwine together.
"These flowers will never die. Time shall not age them. Elements will not harm them. Animals will not touch them. This I say as my love for you brother will never die never will this spell", Artemis whispers the spell.
The flowers all glow silver and gold showing they had taken on the blessing. They come around a gold marble tombstone appears on the burnt dirt.
Tears falling Artemis engraves Apollo's Tombstone.
"I never should be doing this. This is...wrong", Artemis whispers crying as she wrote the words on it.

Artemis sobs as she finishes it. The names of his children would flash to show the others. Same with his grandchildren.
She then engraves two bows on the top with suns and moons. She leaves room on the tomb for another.
"I love you my brave, strong, loving brother. I love you my sun", Artemis whispers as another strand of her hair turns silver.
Her tears fall on the grass that was now growing and Moonlace appears to intertwine with the Sunlace she had created.
"Soon", she whispers tracing his name.
She stands back up. Her black dress was covered in dirt and ash.
She flashes back to her Temple. Not wanting to face her Hunters just yet and have questions thrown at her.
She walks over to the mirror and sees herself for the first time in days. She looked a mess to put it lightly. Dirt and tears mixed on her face. Her hands having dirt on them.
Deciding to do something about it she has a very hot shower trying to get herself to feel something but she couldn't she was still numb.
She sits in front of the mirror again and sees her once bright eyes were dull. She was paler then she normally was. Her wet auburn hair had flecks of silver in it.
As the sunlight hits her windows she once again whimpers. The sun wasn't him. Rushing to the windows she throws the curtains shut. When she goes back to the mirror tears in her eyes she sees a strand of her auburn hair turn silver. And pain went through her body.
Artemis suddenly new what was happening. Of course. She and her brother were twins. Joined together by half of the others soul. When one die so would the other. It was just a matter of time.
"I'm dying", Artemis murmurs not the least surprised
How could she be surprised? When she di…had shared half her soul with her brother.
"I'm dying", Artemis says calmly with a tear falling.
Him…dying would cause a chain reaction so what was left off her soul would follow him into death. Death didn't scare her. Living without her brother scared her beyond imagination and reason.
"I'm dying. At least I will join him", Artemis states looking at herself in the mirror.
She now guessed that her hair would turn silver with the life leaving her body. She expected other things to happen. But that was an obvious one.
Artemis stared at herself what would she do now that it was the start of the end? Soon she would join her beloved, funny, bright, loving, caring, brave brother in death. Where ever they would end up. But with her death came many things.
Her Hunters would be without her. She would have to do something about that. But her domains would also be free to choose a new God or Goddess. Like her brothers probably were now. Oh how she hoped that her Father and the Council would forget to give them to someone till she died. She didn't think she could survive hearing her beloved brothers domains passed on. It would probably destroy her.
This was the start of her end.
And for her that was not scary.
It was not sad.
It was comforting.
Soon she would join her brother.
Soon she would be reunited with the one person who loved her unconditionally.
Soon she would be with her comforter and protector again.
Once again she thought…
'This is the start of the end'
