Happy Mothers Day!

This Chapter is for all the Mum's out there. Especially my Mum her has helped me so lot in my life.

Chapter 4: An Arrow That Won't Fly

Artemis stared in the mirror at herself. You could clearly see how much she was grieving. But Artemis didn't want anyone else too know. As she would use the Mist for now to hide the changes. She didn't want to worry people anyway. Not that anyone would believe she was grieving for her brother or was dying because her brother was dead.

Nobody would believe her. With how they had acted throughout the years. But they needed to act and they had thought it was a good idea at the time.

She sobbed just thinking about it.

"Brother, Apoly", she sobs

She knew he loved her dearly and she hoped he knew how much she loved him. As they were two halves off a whole.

But she knew Apollo knew they were two halves off a whole and couldn't live without the other. Or maybe he forgot that she would die soon after him or not at all because of how he was human at the time.

She knew he had memory problems when he was turned human. So maybe he forgot. She was sure he hadn't meant to leave her or get himself killed. He wouldn't do that to her.

Artemis tries to shake her head clear off her despairing thoughts. She needed to clear her thoughts a bit.

She takes one last look at her reflection before leaving the room. She sees her bow on its stand. She hesitates. How could she look at her bow and not think off HIM?

But what would it matter. Her time will come soon enough.

She picks it up tracing the patterns of Suns and Moons that bow was silver with silver moons and gold suns. HE made this bow for her. He had a gold bow with gold suns and silver moons. Both bows were alike but were made for the other by the other. It made these twin bows all the more special.

Hers had an inscription on it.

'To my beloved other half, my Golden Moon, my Moonling, when you use this just remember how much I love you. I will always by your Protector. For all times. Just know I am always with you. I love you Sis. Love your Silver Sun, your Apoly'

She sniffs reading that. She only called him Apoly when she was sick or scared or upset. He was not here to protect her anymore. He wasn't there by her side anymore. He HAD left her. But she knew it wasn't his fault. How could it when Zeus sent him down as a human?

She shakes her head and flashes to a forest. She tries to ignore the sun. It just wasn't right.

She starts to track a deer. She needed to distract herself.

It takes her a while as her mind kept wondering to her grief. She finds a deer and draws her bow back. But her hand shakes uncontrollably. Memories flash through her mind of times long gone. When her brother and her would laugh and joke as they hunted. And the competitions they used to do when they hunted.

All she could think about was that she would never hunt with her brother again. No joint hunts. She didn't know how long she had left in her. But she just wanted to hunt with her brother again.

She lets the arrow go but it falls short. She tries again and again but the arrows won't fly.

She collapses to the ground sobbing. Her bow falling from her hands.

She won't be able to shoot any arrows now. She realised she wasn't balanced without her other half so she won't be able to make the arrows fly true.

"Please, please let me join HIM soon", she begs crying

The grass around her started to die.

"I want HIM, I want HIM, I want my…sun, I want my…protector…I want my Apoly...", Artemis begs to the sky as she rocks back and forward.

She continues to cry as she rocks back and forward in the shade.

She just suddenly hoped her time alive would be short. And she would join her beloved brother quickly.

She just wanted the pain to end…
