Flashback*

Sometimes (weeks) after the twins had left*

Bill's POV

I was in the Nightmare Realm watching the town. So those two have finally gone, excellent! Finally, I could continue the next step of my plan: Get the rift! HHAHaAAHhaHahaHA!

... but how? With the barrier outside of the shack, I couldn't get in. A vessel wouldn't work as well.

"Needed help with something Bill?"

I turned around, spotting two other dream demons behind me. "Well well well, look who's here?" My voice echoed as I greeted them.

Mani and Shawna Phantom (they're my OCs' names), my old friends, flew towards me and said "Good to meet you, Bill" in sync. Mani, a black (or raven) haired demon with bat wings and red horns and tail with yellow eyes. He's wearing a black suit, a long matching black tailcoat with a white undershirt and black dress shoes. The tailcoat went down to his ankles (similar to Bill's in his human form only without the brick patterns), he also wore a black bow tie. A golden amulet, where his power was contained, was attached to his black bow tie, tied around the collar. Shawna, a blonde demon with bat wings, black horns, and tail with deep ocean eyes. She also wore the same attire but hers was yellow and instead of pants, she's wearing a short black skirt along with black stockings and high-heels. Her own amulet was, however, the same color as her eyes and was stick to a black headband on her head. They both looked like hybrids- humans with demons' features and were very evil. They're the only demons who got themselves vessels to get into the reality, which was made with their own magic. They're really powerful but of course after me. Both of them might look innocent enough to fool idiots but they could be considered as the true definition of life. By invading people's minds, they could control them, their decisions and all the stuff included in life, yet not to mention paybacks one might receive. That's how they brought chaos to those mortals and how they're near as equally evil and strong as me. Still, there's a reason for why they haven't ruled any dimension yet...

Shawna walked up to me, her hair and clothes swaying in the air as she moved " I see you need something for that barrier eh?"

"I appreciate that you're willing to help me with my plan but sadly there's nothing even you two can do." I replied. It's great to have these guys around other than my Hench-maniacs, they got boring sometimes, but as I said there's nothing they could do to that stupid barrier outside of that shack, not to mention the one surrounding the whole town, as I just heard from my pals although a possessed vessel could pass with ease- that's how they got out of town-

"Wait a minute, that's it! Ha! You two are going to make me a flesh bag of my own! How come I didn't think of it before! You guys are geniuses!" So they could help me after all!

"Not quite Cipher. Even with your own vessel, the old Sixer will still know and aware of your presence. Don't say that you already forgot about... last time." Mani chipped in as they reminded me what happened a month ago. That's when the twins fought about how Pine Tree got to stay in Gravity Falls to be Sixer's apprentice while Shooting Star had to go back to their home in California and apparently things didn't work out as planned. According to some other timelines, Shooting Star had run away from the shack, mistakenly taking her brother's bag instead of her own, which contained the dimensional rift that Ford had handed for Dipper to keep safe during their mission with the alien's still activated space ships but in my own dimension, the exact opposite happened. After my talk with her to gain more summer, I had the girl ran back to the shack to bring me the rift only to find the twins making up and hugging and causing my puppet to forget what exactly she's doing. Having enough, I snuck outside and around the shack only to be caught in the barrier and noticed by Ford because of Blendin's big body frame. Thanks to that, the old man was always on full alert, even when he's at the birthday party and when Dipper and Mabel left. Now that the kids are gone, he instantly installed security cameras, made by his own hands and tools- due to Stan being a jerk toward Ford when he didn't agree on spending his money on some 'useless technologies' and to add some special abilities to scan and detect weirdness just like his weirdness-detecting radar in the basement. I mean I could just mess with the cameras but damn that old man he got the barrier around those too. I thought he hated unicorns.

"You know, if things keep going like this I'm afraid that the result will be the same just like those dimensions' with you failing from time to time." Mani said as he tapped his chin in thoughts.

"Maybe it's payback, perhaps?"

"Well, if we say that way then you're probably right." They discussed it for a while.

They then went silent when suddenly Shawna turned and asked me an obvious question of my well being "Have you been doing good deeds lately, Bill?"

I smirked, "Well, of course, I've been doing things to keep myself entertained thanks for asking." They groaned and rolled their eyes at that.

"Well, that explains..." One of them mumbled. I chuckled. 'Well aren't these two funny.' I thought.

Then they both held their hands out "Care to make a deal Cipher?"

I did nothing but inching mine closer to shake theirs. It was never weird for demons like us to make deals to one another, simply just needed something that mortals didn't have to offer. "And you want?" I asked.

They started out in sync "We wish for you to be nice towards a broken soul until they're healed in exchange for world domination." I froze at that. So these dummies wanted to break Bill Cipher? Not a chance! "We can read minds too ya know." Shawna stated, rolling her eyes again as both of them waited patiently for the handshake part." So is it a deal then?" Mani asked, clearly speeding up the progress.

Sadly, after reconsider what I was about to do 'No other choice.' "Deal." I shook their hands with both of mine as blue flames began to engulf between us. "Pleasure doing business with you." They've got satisfied looks on their faces. I groaned.

"So who am I gonna be nice to?" I asked.

They shrugged "We know one broken soul that has just popped up recently but we're not sure if you'll willing to accept or not." Shawna said, fiddling the edge of her skirt.

"We will help make it bearable for you of course." Mani cut in. The relief was written on her face as she let her brother take care of the rest.

"Who is it then? Some wimp who's born in an abusive family or something?"

"Well no, just at school, but it's someone you might know."

"Please, like there's someone I haven't already known." I rolled my eye.

"Alright fine. You know the young Pines twins that have just left Gravity Falls right?" Oh my Lord don't tell me!

"Yes?" I replied hoping that I was wrong and that there's some information I needed from the twins.

"-because you're taking care of one them" Shawna interrupted, getting straight to the point. A "Yeah" was heard in front of her.

"What?!" I yelled, "You think I'm a babysitter or something?! I'm Bill Cipher and you're talking to the most terrifying all-seeing dream demon of this whole Nightmare Realm!"

Black clouds were starting to form and lightning then started to appear around us. "Yeah we know but if you wanna reverse our power's effect to this universe and especially to you, you have to do it. Besides we made a deal remember?" Shawna said sternly as she raised her hand for me to see. "So finish your end of the bargain and we'll finish ours."

"Can't you just undo what that law did?! You have its power!" I screamed.

"No, we're made out of it for your information." Mani stated with such calm.

I thought and groaned "Fine."

"Well then, we'll see ya tomorrow to start. Later." They bid me farewell as a portal was opened to the Mindscape.

"Bye-bye Bill. See ya!" Shawna waved as she entered the portal.

They're gone and I was alone once again as the clouds were still floating above me. Having enough, I open my own portal to the Mindscape and just stayed there and wandered around, thinking. 'Who could it be this time?' I thought. It could have just been Shooting Star since she almost got fooled the last time we met, wanting the summer to last longer.

I flew from minds to minds, messing some on the way to release my boiling anger. If things didn't work out like this, I would have been ruling the world right now, causing chaos every part of everywhere, bringing distraught and sleepless nights to all those flesh bags! Just opening and closing doors of memories had already given me a headache so I stopped and went straight to the ones that should be needed to start with; Pine Tree's and Shooting Star's minds. Like I said; it was just probably Shooting Star crying for having to leave her friends in Gravity Falls, so I opened the door to her mind and to her memories section. From what I could see when I entered the halls, I had to shield my only eye from all those sparkling sparkles that were covering the walls, not to mention the posters of 'Dream Boys High School'! That was so, so Shooting Star. On my right there's a fresh-looking door with the label 'High School' on top so I opened it, thinking that it was made recently, and it was.

The first few days of it, she has made tons of friends in tons of classes and clubs. I just watched all the events that seemed to be turning her into a celebrity until I realized something was missing. What could have it been that's missing from a popular thirteen-year-old's life I wonder? Again I just opened doors and closed them, one after another until I noticed ...

...Pine Tree was nowhere behind these doors. Not on the day Shooting Star became popular, not on the days she's voted to be club president, not even on the first day of school! Something seemed off, very off. I mean really, she's childish and obsessed with tons of sparkled stuff and all but she's still Pine Tree's 5-minutes-older sister. She's able to give up her play for some puppet boy, her chance to erase her summer romances and heck! The rift too! Yet she couldn't be with Pine Tree while her happy moments were taking place...

"Hey, you!"

I looked back at one of the opened doors, seeing Shooting Star and her friends at the school cafeteria, I assumed, laughing and making crafts. 'Huh must be someone else.' I thought. I saw some shifting in the background. About two or three kids were kicking something on the floor. The thing was crying and curling up into a small ball.

"Mabel!" It screamed, reaching a hand towards where Shooting Star was sitting. She was about to turn around when a girl next to her grabbed her attention back.

"Look what I got Mabel! Sparked balls of yarn!" She said.

"Woah, how did you make those?"

"With sparkles silly!" Then they laughed.

Those boys from earlier were still kicking the mess between them. "Heh still think that your sister is gonna help you huh? What a wimp." One of them said.

"I-I'm not a wimp a-and Mabel will he-lp me I-I know it! S-she's just busy-!" Now all covered in bruises, the thing replied but was cut off by another one of the boys.

"S-she's just busy!" He said faking the thing's voice, clearly failing cause its voice was high pitched for boys to fake. "I'm Dipper Pines. I'm a nerd, always walking around like a doofus with my nose in a book! I got a dumb journal full of crazy things and a sister who's backstabbing me but I don't even know because I'm just a dumb nerd!"

"Nice one man!" Another said as they high-fived with each other.

"No, she isn't! S-She loves me! A-And and we're twins! W-We're we- Ah!" It was cut off again by another kick to its ribs.

How lacked of humanization; kicking a boy over and over again with no mercy. It's funny if you ask me- wait! Pine Tree?! Now that's something that was worth for me to laugh! HAHAHAHHAhaAhAhAhA...! I continued to laugh but it soon died down... Which was strange... Maybe I'm not the one who's in pain hmm whatever.

Things stayed the same for couples of minutes later until the bell rang and all students ran to the exit of the cafeteria. The boys left too, leaving a beat-up Pine Tree behind in his previous spot on the floor. I saw Shooting Star started to approach him.

'Maybe I should bring him to the nurse office...' She thought as she slowly lay a hand on the boy's body.

"Come on Mabel! What are you waiting for?" The girl from earlier said, standing at the double doors of the cafeteria.

"C-Coming!" Shooting Star then ran back to the girl and left with her.

"Wait you weren't gonna help him just then were you?" The girl asked while they were walking down the halls.

" Pfft as if! I mean why should I? He's a... a-"

"A wimp? Loser? Nerd? Freak?"

"Y-Yeah that's what I was gonna say! A-A wimp a-and all that!"

"I know right? Ugh, can't believe he's your brother... Good thing you're not like him now come on we're late for class!"

"Ok!"

The second bell rang as I saw Pine Tree slowly got up. The kid was literally dragging his body to the exit, limping, crouching and groaning every now and then.

He eventually made it to his next class like about fifteen minutes later. While Shooting Star was in the opposite class across the halls and since she sat near the door, she could see Pine Tree opening his classroom's door and got scolded, receiving detention at the end of the day when school's over.

I explored some more but eventually got bored with the same topic repeating over and over again. I then checked the clock on my wrist.

3:00 AM

I switched to Pine Tree, see if he's sleeping or still wide awake flipping through the journal again. That kid should rest sometimes, sleep deprivation would catch up with him soon enough.

And as expected; he's awake but instead of doing something, he just stared at the ceiling of his own room.

He sighed 'Sure wish Mabel was here. She knows what to do with me right now.'

They no longer share a room, I see.

'Just like Mabel, I do miss our time in Gravity Falls. I mean we got to share the attic at the Mystery Shack but I get it; we're teens now so we might need our privacy.' Pine Tree turned to face the opposite wall and sighed again.

'What's the point in missing her anyway? It's not like she loves you.' A voice popped in as Pine Tree closed his eyes.

'You should have taken the apprenticeship.' It said.

Pine Tree continued to keep his eyes shut as the voice droned on to where tears started to form at the corners of his eyes.

'She appreciates having me here.' He thought back.

'Yeah right like the rest of your family does the same thing.'

'What do you mean by that?'

'Did you get to rant for hours about mysteries or anything that you like?'

'Well, Mabel was asked first so-'

'Every day?'

'Y-yeah I mean you just have to wait for your turn.'

'And what they say when you wished to discuss some major problems at school?' The voice faked Pine Tree's mom's voice 'Sweetie, it's rude to cut in the middle of a conversation.'

'But I-'

'Yeah, you said that when they accused you and what about your dad? What did he say when you tried to speak up?' Now it was the father's voice 'Mason, son, listen to your mother. If you already know everything then you can just go to your room and do your homework.'

'But-'

'Have you heard what he said? That you knew everything? That you're so smart that you didn't need to listen anymore? Has that been the meaning of his words spoken to you?' It taunted.

'What? No! It isn't like that!'

'Face it and grow up already Dipper! You're supposed to be mature and realize that the world you know isn't as it seems! And not only in Gravity Falls! Everyone around you was right; you should listen to your elder sister and act like her, look at her as your model for the future! Be mature for once!'

Its words got louder like an echo. Too loud and too real for Pine Tree's ears as he opened his eyes and screamed: "SHUT UP!"

Suddenly there was a knock on his door.

"Dipper, would you please keep it down in there? I need my beauty sleep for tomorrow's after school club!" Shooting Star's voice could be heard on the other side as the sound of her footsteps slowly faded.

"S-sorry Mabe-" He was interrupted as Shooting Star slammed her bedroom door shut with a loud 'THUD!'

He sighed, rubbing his temper as he closed his eyes again. It was minutes later when he fell asleep. He then swarmed around in his bed, kicking his legs slightly. I got into his dreams since there's still sometime before sunrise.

There I was, floating in a black void. It was quiet and empty. Just an endless black surrounding me.

"Hello?" I turned around. Pine Tree was standing from afar, looking around "Hello?" He called out again.

He walked around for a bit, sometimes stumbled on his feet until he looked at my direction. He screamed.

"B-bill?!"

"The one and only!" I replied.

"What are you doing here?" He asked.

"Oh you know, watching you as I said before?" I laughed.

"Whatever just get out and make this whatever dream you're making me dreaming go! Hello?! Brain?! Bring me back to reality, please! Time to wake up!" I cackled at that.

"What's so funny?"

"Oh, I didn't make this void in your tiny mind there." A hologram of human brain appeared in my hands. I snapped my fingers and poof it's gone. "It's quite rare for you to have dreams like these, to be honest with you. Although it's certain that it's you who's having this dream right now, made by you." I pointed at him.

"What?" He squatted my hand away "If it's not you then how am I having it?"

"Oh, I don't know. It's empty here. Maybe it's because your sister is having fun with her school life and you are not? That she left you alone?"

"No way! I'm having f-fun! So much fun!" He exclaimed. "And I'm not alone! It's just..."

I rolled my eye "Kid, we both know you're lying."

He sighed "Fine you got me, now what do you want?"

"Come to cheer you up of course!"

"What?! No way no how, man! You're plotting something big like you said when you stole my body!"

"Jeez, can't you just leave the past alone? It's in the past now Pine Tree! Now tell me what's been bothering you lately, huh?"

"Nope! Not gonna happen! I will not let yo-"

"Relax, you yell more than you talk! Now tell the ol' Bill what's going on? I ain't gonna waste my time just for you."

"Then why are you here? Sure you've got more important things to do than just listening to some 13-year-old complaining about his high school life after leaving Gravity Falls."

I didn't know if I should keep going or back out of here. If Pine Tree was that kid then let's get this over with.

"I'm doing this because... I... care for you?" The heck was I saying?!

He chuckled "Ok who are you and what have you done to Bill?"

"What?! Don't believe me I'll show you!"

"Go on and try Dorito!"

"Oh yeah?! Say, about all those incidents in the school's cafeteria? Huh? When those brats bullied you and no one cared and just ignored you including your sister? How about your teachers? Did they make school more difficult by giving you detentions or reporting to your parents just because your late for class with a reasonable reason? Didn't they notice your bleeding? Not to mention your parents when they heard the news or saw your wounds. What did they say? That you're grounded for weeks because they thought you caused trouble at school, that you fought with innocent kids an-"

"Stop it! E-enough Bill! I know how I've gone through my days without having misfortune but y-you don't have to rub it in my face!" He sobbed.

I was silent. Seeing Pine Tree breaking down was a new sight for me to behold. Something was telling me that I should comfort him and I did just that; wrapping my tiny arms around him, one on his belly and the other on his back, rubbing small circles. His eyes widened as he comprehended what was going on and by the time he realized what I was doing to him, the sobs have stopped.

"W-what are you d-doing?" He asked.

"I told you; I'm doing this because I care about you." I replied.

Pine Tree was speechless after that as silence fell upon us. He then hugged me, pulling closer. I was shocked. Who the heck hugs a demon that has been terrorizing them and their family whole summer?

"T-thank y-you." He choked out.

I hugged him tighter, still rubbing circles on his back.

"You're welcome." I said.

'What was this feeling?' I thought 'Some trick he's pulling on me?' I didn't know at the time, yet all I could do was keep hugging him, comforting him when he cried again and be there for him.

Suddenly there was a light right ahead of us.

"DIPPER!" It was Shooting Star.

Pine Tree looked sad for a bit before smiling at me. "Guess this is goodbye?"

"Don't worry, if possible I'll come to visit you tomorrow night." I said.

He seemed hesitant for a little "P-promise?"

After a few seconds, I sighed "Sure kid. I promise."

"Bye." And with those words, he started running towards the light as I was pulled out of his dream.

From where I was floating, I could see Shooting Star scolding him for waking up late and that if they're late for school, it would be his fault.

"Sweetie, come down and eat your breakfast! You're gonna be late for school!" Ms. Pines yelled from downstairs.

"Coming Mom! It's just Dipper sleeping in again!" Shooting Star yelled back.

"Again?!" Gosh, my ears were burning just from all those yelling.

"Hey, I wasn't sleeping in!" Pine Tree said.

"Of course you were! Now get your lazy butt out of bed and get ready already!"

Pine Tree got up, grumbling.

"What was that?" Shooting Star asked.

"I said I'm-" Right then she slapped his face, leaving a red mark on his cheek.

"No talking back to me got it?! You ruined my sleep so this is for revenge. I'm the alpha twin here and you do as I said! Now get lost!"

He scrambled away, stumbling his toes on the process.

"Hmph, pathetic." She spat.

Before Pine Tree disappeared out of sight, I saw a small tear running down his face. There, the feeling that tugged at me just now returned as it told me to run after Pine Tree and comfort him. I just pushed it back and went to the Mindscape and waited there for those two demons to arrive.

Too much?

I know it's strange for Mabel to act like that but I need to let all of my thoughts about her out considering how much of a slightly terrible sister she is towards Dipper in the show. Anyway, that's all for this chapter, the next one might take about a few days or more? Who knows?

Alright, catch you guys later!
