Authors Note: Hey everyone, Here is the next chapter. So when I realized after posting the first chapter up last night I miss spill a word in the title but I have fixed it. Also something I forgot to mention but as you had seen in the first chapter that Paul is all ready related to Kimberly as her cousin. Also read the Author's Note at the end of the chapter for more. Now without further ado here is chapter two for your reading pleasure.
Time Well Heal Your Heart
Chapter Two: Meeting the Other Rangers
After flying around town on my TF Glider for a good twenty minutes or so to explore the layout of the city as well as get a better feel of flying on it, I had finally returned home, I landed in the backyard to see that my bedroom window is still opened.
'I guess they left it open for me figuring I be coming back in through that way.' I thought to myself
I then went over and climbed up into the window. Once I was back in my room, I then pull it down closing the window.
"Power down." I called out as I tap the middle button
Just then, I demorphed. I did not have time to collect my thoughts as I turned around to come face to face with Kimberly who appeared to have a pissed off look on her face.
'Shit I'm dead.' I thought to myself
If there is one person I'm afraid of, it would be my cousin right in front of me looking like she is ready to rip my head off.
"Paul Alexander Golupski, do you have any idea how worried sick I was?" Kimberly questioned with her hands on her hips and tapping her foot her right foot on the floor
"Well um I have a pretty good idea." I mentioned
I then quickly thought of something that could at least calm her down a bit.
"But tell me this before you rip my head off cuz, didn't you and Jason do the same thing back when you were my age?" I inquired
Then in one second flat, she went from giving me a pissed off look to having a sad smile on her face.
'Okay well, at least I get to live another day at least.' I thought to myself taking a silent sigh of relief
"I can never stay mad at you for too long Paul and I am going to worry about you being a Ranger and all but I know you will be able to take care of yourself." Kimberly told me
"Thank you Kimberly." I thanked
I then start to walk away. But, just as I walk by Kimberly, I feel her hand grabbing mine, stopping me in my tracks.
"Not so fast mister." Kimberly stated
'Man I knew that was too easy.' I thought to myself
I then turned back around to look at her.
"Where do you think you're going?" Kimberly questioned
"I was just going to go get something to snack on, fighting that Mutant earlier made me hungry." I told her
"Well that's fine and all but I would like a hug from you sweetie." Kimberly stated
She then let my hand go and puts her hands on my shoulders.
"Now come here." Kimberly told me as she brought me into a hug
I then hug her back.
'Why do I get this nagging feeling that she is going to start being more overly protective of me then normal?' I thought to myself
A few moments later we broke off the hug.
"Now you can go and get your snack." Kimberly told me
"Thanks." I thanked
I then turned around to face the door.
"Man, I'm so hungry." I stated
I then rushed out of the room as I then make my way towards the kitchen. As I passed by the living room, I happen to see Jason standing nearby holding little Kelly.
"Hey Jase." I greeted passing him
"Hey Paul how it go man?" Jason inquired
"Not as bad as I first thought, it felt like I knew what I was doing when I was morphed." I explained
I then go to the freezer part of the fridge and open it up and grab a couple of Ice Cream Sandwich bars.
"Did you guys have that same feeling as well?" I questioned
"Yeah we did, it was one of the first things we also felt when we first Morphed for the first time." Jason explained
I nodded as I shut the freezer door and head towards the living room with the two Ice Cream Sandwich Bars in hand.
"But, you should do some training so that you can also defend yourself without your powers." Jason told me
"I know I was planning on joining your class now that I am going to be a Ranger." I mentioned
I then sit down on the couch next to Jason as I begin eating the first one. About halfway through eating the first one, I see Kimberly walk into the living room and comes over towards the couch.
"Now Paul don't eat too much we will be having dinner in a few hours." Kimberly reminded me as she sat down next to me
I just chuckle at hearing that as I finish up the first Ice Cream Sandwich Bar and crumble up the wrapping as I then open up the second one and begin eating it.
"This is me we are talking about Kimberly." I reminded her
She herself also let out a light chuckle.
"Yeah I know." Kimberly stated
Just as I finished eating the second Ice Cream Sandwich bar, the door bell suddenly rang.
"I wonder who that could be?" Kimberly wondered as she got up from the couch to get the door
Jason and I then got up as well. I quickly went to throw away the wrappers in my hand. Once I had disposed of them, I go to catch up with them. As I caught up with Jason, Kimberly opened up the door to reveal two people standing there one male with short blonde hair, wearing a red button up shirt unbuttoned and khaki pants and a girl with long brown hair wearing with a pink shirt, pink and black skirt and a brown leather jacket. I recognize the guy as Wesley Collins as he is Kimberly's older cousin that I met a few times before and he is a pretty cool guy.
'But the girl with him, I have no idea who she is.' I thought to myself
"Wes, oh my god it's so good to see you." Kimberly told him as she hugged him
Wes accepted the hug and returned it with one of his own.
"It's great to see you too Kimmy." Wes told her
After a few moments, the two broke apart.
"Man, it sure has been awhile." Wes mentioned
"Yeah, it has." Kimberly agreed
She then realized that she had yet let the two in as she then quickly stepped aside.
"Oh yeah, come in." Kimberly told them
The two then walked inside.
"And, whose your friend here?" Kimberly inquired
"Oh, this is my friend Jen." Wes mentioned
Wes then looked at Jen while motioning towards both Kimberly and Jason.
"Jen, this is my cousin Kimberly and her husband Jason." Wes introduced the both of them to her
"It's nice to meet you guys." Jen greeted
"Same here Jen." Jason greeted back
Wes then happened to spot Kelly in Jason's arms.
"And is that little Kelly?" Wes inquired
"Yep." Jason confirmed
"Man she has grown a bit since last time I saw her." Wes mentioned
"Yeah, she is getting big way too fast for my liking." Kimberly stated
Wes then turned around and spotted me for the first time and suddenly realized who I am.
"Paul, man it's been so long. I haven't seen you in a long time." Wes greeted
Wes then walked over towards me and stuck his hand out for me to shake.
"I didn't recognize you at first glance." Wes added
I just chuckled as I accept his gestured and shook his hand.
"I know I did some growing up since you last saw me five years ago." I mentioned
"Hey, I heard what happen to your parents and sister. I am so sorry for your loss." Wes apoligzed
He then put a hand on my shoulder.
"How you holding up?" Wes wondered
"Thanks Wes I am hanging in there, just taking it one day at a time." I told him
I then happen to look down to his and Jen's left hands and saw that the both of them has on the same Morpher that I have on my left hand.
'So, they are the Rangers I had helped out earlier.' I thought to myself
"Hey Paul, Wes and I need to talk to you about something." Jen informed me
'Well, looks like my secret is out of the bag.' I thought to myself
I then happen to think of something as I took a quick glance at both Jason and Kimberly.
'I guess I can do the same to them seeing as how Jason and Kimberly were once Rangers and know about me.' I thought to myself
I then turn back towards Wes and Jen.
"If it's about the battle from earlier don't mention it, I was just glad that the computer in my Morpher told me about it when it did." I mentioned
I look to see that not only do Wes and his friend have shock looks on their faces but Kimberly and Jason did as well I look to Kimberly and mouthed to her that I know what I am doing.
"Paul, what are you talking about?" Wes questioned trying to hide truth
'Well, he is smart in trying to keep it a secret, I'll give him that.' I thought to myself
"Come on Wes don't play like that." I stated
I then motioned towards both him and Jen.
"I know you and your friend here are the Rangers I helped out earlier." I mentioned
I then pointed towards the Morphers on their wrists.
"The Morphers on your left wrists is a dead giveaway for one thing." I added
I then held up my left hand with the Morpher on it in front of them for a moment.
"And looks just like mine." I revealed
Wes was quick to come over towards me.
"Paul okay, you figure it out but you shouldn't be saying it out loud." Wes whispered in my ear
I just chuckle at his continued attempt at hiding it.
"Wes, no need to hide it right now man." I stated
I then motioned towards both Jason and Kimberly.
"After all, both Jason and Kimberly were once Power Rangers too." I mentioned
Suddenly as if on cue, Kimberly and Jason got shock looks on their faces, though, more so with Kimberly then Jason and Kimberly also is getting a look I know all too well.
"Paul, why did you say that?" Kimberly questioned
'Crap I better cover my ass quickly before she decides to rip my head off.' I thought to myself
"Kimberly, if you look at it, we have current and former Rangers in here right now so it should be fine to talk about it, it's not like we are in public where everybody can hear." I quickly explained to her
"Paul does have a point Kimberly, besides they could learn a thing or two from older Rangers." Jason mentioned
Kimberly quickly turned towards Jason and began giving him the same look she gave me a moment ago.
'Jason, you are so lucky you have Kelly in your arms otherwise you be a dead man.' I thought to myself
I happen to look to Kimberly's forehead to see a vein on her forehead looking like it is ready to pop.
'And that is never a good sign when that appears.' I thought to myself
"Um Kimberly choose your words and tone of voice carefully as there is a little one in the room." I reminded her
Kimberly then calms down.
'Man that was close.' I thought to myself
I happen to look over towards Wes to see that he had a surprised look on his face.
'I guess Wes had no idea that Kimberly nor Jason were once Power Rangers.' I thought to myself
Jen then walked over towards Wes and I standing next to him once more as she looked right back at me.
"Okay Paul, Wes and I still really need to talk to you." Jen told me
"What about?" I inquired
"Well are you ready to be a Power Ranger?" Jen questioned
"Yeah I am I mean I'm not that skilled yet but I will be in time." I stated
Realizing that Wes was still in a daze having just found out that our cousin and her husband were once Rangers, Jen nudge his chest as Wes shook his head out of his thoughts and looked at Jen for a moment before she motioned towards me. I guess Wes realized that he needed to focus on me rather then Jason and Kimberly being former Rangers, he turned back towards me.
"Paul, remind me here do you have any fighting experience?" Wes inquired
"No I don't, but I am going to be joining Jason's karate class." I told him
"Paul, where did you get the Chrono Morpher?" Jen questioned
I take a quick glance at my Morpher now realizing what it is called.
'So, that's what the Morpher is called.' I thought to myself
I then looked back at her and Wes.
"It was in a small box my dad gave me years ago, I was told to not open it until either he told me to or he had passed away." I revealed
I then take in a deep breath to help compose myself before continuing on with the explanation.
"So, with him now gone I opened it and saw it in there with a note my dad wrote saying that this Morpher will help me find my destiny." I explained
"Paul, can you come with us please?" Jen requested
Jen then looked at Wes for a moment before turning back towards me.
"We need to figure some things out." Jen mentioned
"Yeah no problem." I stated
I then motioned towards Kimberly.
"So long as Kimberly can come with us too." I mentioned
"Yeah sure come on." Jen replied
Jen then turned around and walked over towards the front door. Once she reached it, she then opens it and walks out of the front door. I then looked over towards Wes.
"Nice friend Wes." I muttered to him
"Just give her time Paul." Wes told me
"Yeah okay, I will give her time Wes." I promised
"Okay come on lets go." Wes stated
We then turned around and walked over to the front door and walked out of it to follow Jen. I then looked over towards Kimberly.
"Come on Kimberly lets go." I told her
"Right." Kimberly agreed
She then turned towards Jason.
"We'll be back soon Jason." Kimberly told him as she and Jason kissed
"K, see you guys soon." Jason stated
Kimberly then grabs her purse and walked over to me and put a hand on my shoulder as we both turned towards the front door and walked out of it as she shut it behind us as Kimberly and I then hopped into her car while we see Wes and Jen hop onto Wes's motorcycle. They both put on their helmets as Wes revs up his bike before driving off as Kimberly and I then followed Wes and Jen.
Meanwhile a bit later outside the Clock Tower
After about ten minutes later or so, we pulled up to some old clock tower. Kimberly and I get out of her car as I just stare up at it.
"What is this place?" I wondered
"It's an old clock tower. Jen and I along with the other three Rangers live here" Wes revealed
'Okay, for a guy whose father is the richest man in the city couldn't find a better place?' I thought to myself
The four of us then walk over towards the front door.
'Than again, him and is dad never really did see eye to eye. Not sense his mother passing away from cancer when he was a kid.' I thought to myself
As we approach the front door, I happen to see the sign on it.
"Nick of Time Odd Jobs." I read quietly
'I'm guessing, this is how they pay the bills here and keep themselves fed and what not is by doing odd jobs around the city.' I thought to myself
We walked inside as Wes and Jen led us over towards the stairs as we all then begin walking up them. Wanting to know how far up we had to go, I looked up to see that it just looked like an endless staircase similar to how it was in Super Mario 64 if you try to reach the final Bowser fight without the required amount of stars without using a known glitch to bypass it.
'Man, how many stairs are in this place?' I thought to myself
A few minutes and what seemed like a million steps later, we finally made it to what looked like the living area of the Clock Tower. We then end up seeing three more people. An African American girl wearing a yellow sweeter, cameo pants, and a vest, a guy wearing a light blue shirt with a dark blue jacket and dark blue pants with his hair all spiked and well jelled. And then another guy who's wearing an orange jacket with a green shirt underneath and a black top hat.
'Not to mention what appears to be green hair.' I thought to myself
"Guys, we have some things to discuss about." Jen told them as the three of them walked over towards us
"Hey, who are these guys?" The guy in a blue shirt inquired
Wes then motioned towards Kimberly and I.
"Lucas, Trip, Katie I like you to meet my cousin Kimberly, and her cousin Paul." Wes introduced them to us
He then motioned more towards me.
"Paul is the one who helped us out earlier." Wes revealed
Lucas then came up to me and brought his hand out to shake as I accepted it and shook his hand.
"Thanks for the help earlier." Lucas thanked
"No problem." I assured him
I happen to look over to Trip and see him get a shock but happy look on his face as he looked right at Kimberly.
"Wow, I can't believe that I didn't see this up till now. Your Kimberly Hart, the original Pink Ranger." Trip stated
'Okay so, I'm not a smart man but I am sure that I am the only one out of very few people that know that.' I thought to myself
"How did you know that Kimberly use to be a Power Ranger?" I questioned
I then looked at her as she too just gave me a confused look as I turned back to the others.
"Last I knew, it wasn't public knowledge." I mentioned
"Yeah, tell me about." Wes muttered
'I guess Wes is a bit jealous that I knew about the two being former Rangers and not him.' I thought to myself
"It may not be in this time period, but in the year 3000, it is." Katie revealed
This time, it was Kimberly and I who got a shock and confused look on our faces.
'Okay, did she say what I think she just said?' I thought to myself
I happen to look Wes to see that he didn't have a shocked or confused look on his face.
'Granted while it makes sense that he knew that, it now also appears that he himself had a few more secrets to hide.' I thought to myself
I then looked back at Trip, Jen, Lucas, and Katie.
"Wait back up for a sec, are you telling me you four are from the future?" I questioned
"Yes Katie, Trip, Lucas, and myself are from the year 3000, we followed a Mutant known as Ransik through time to this time period." Jen explained
"So, you four are here to capture Ransik and his Mutant army and bring them all back to the future?" I inquired
"Yep." Trip confirmed
I then turned towards Wes.
"And Wes, how do you fit into all this?" I questioned
Wes was about to say something, but Jen quickly held a hand up in front of him quickly silencing him.
"Wes can tell you later, right now someone wants to talk to you." Jen stated before Wes could say anything
Jen then walked away from Wes as I then see her walk over towards a nearby table that had two antenna like things sticking upwards about six feet or so apart and a strange keyboard in front of them.
"Who?" I wondered crossing my arms over my chest
"Caption Logan from the future." Jen stated as she sat down and began typing on the keyboard
"I take it he is one of the people in charge of Time Force in the future?" I questioned
"Yep." Jen confirmed
The rest of us walked over towards where Jen was as suddenly, the screen came to life with a man in his thirties appearing on the other side.
"What is it Jen?" Caption Logan questioned through the weird computer
"We have found Paul and he is with us right now sir." Jen informed him
"Let me speak with him then." Caption Logan instructed through the weird computer
Jen then motion for me to come closer.
'Well, I guess I better meet the man in charge of this futuristic police unit.' I thought to myself
I then took in a deep breath as I then walked over to them as I stood right behind Jen and next to Wes.
"It's a pleasure to meet you sir." I told him
"The pleasure is mine. Paul listen, I know you are going through a tough time but there is a reason behind you finding the Chrono Morpher the way you did." Caption Logan told me through the weird computer
"What reason would that be Caption?" I inquired
"I can't say, you will find out when the time is right. Paul, I know you will be a big help to the Rangers so I wish you the best of luck." Caption Logan mentioned through the weird computer
"Thank you sir and I will do my best to help in any way I can." I thanked
Just then, the screen went blank.
'Man this is just all messed up so there is a reason behind that car crash but why?' I thought to myself
"Paul you okay sweetie?" Kimberly inquired putting a hand on my shoulder
I shake my head out of my thoughts as I then looked at her for a moment.
"Yeah, I just need a little time by myself." I muttered
I then walk off towards the other side of the Clock Tower as I slowly approach one of the two windows. When I had reached the window on the right side, I began looking out of it which I quickly seen that it overlooks the entire city from way high up here.
'It is nice view from up here.' I thought to myself
Kimberly's POV
I just stare on at Paul who is just staring out of the window.
'it's just like how it was right after the funeral.' I thought to myself
I then turned my attention towards Wes and his friends.
"Wes can I talk to you and your friends for a moment downstairs?" I requested
"Yeah sure Kim." Wes stated
Wes and his friends then head downstairs with me following them. A few moments later, we finally reached the lobby area.
'Man, I could easily just do my leg day workout with all those stairs going up and down several times a day.' I thought to myself
"What's up Kim?" Wes inquired
"Wes, I'm going to be honest I am worried about Paul, he hasn't been the same since the accident and today I think I saw some signs of him moving on but now it all change again." I told him
"How so?" Trip wondered
"Well, as he said earlier back at the house, he found the Morpher in the box his dad gave him when he was a kid telling him to not open it until either his dad died or his dad told him to." I explained
I just sighed to quickly collect myself as I know that it is going to get a bit harder for me to talk about this.
"Well now with both his parents and older sister gone he made good on that promise and opened it found the Morpher his dad also left a note in it saying that the Morpher would help him find his destiny." I continued
"His destiny?" Katie inquired
"Yeah and I am afraid that what he finds might do more harm than good." I admitted
I just sighed as I could feel my own eyes water up a bit.
"I just don't want to see him get hurt emotionally again." I stated
Wes then came over to me and hugged me as I hugged him back.
"As long as you are there to comfort him, he will be fine." Wes assured me
We then broke the hug as Wes just kept his hands on my shoulders.
"What he needs the most is love from those close to him." Wes told me
"Thanks Wes you always knew how to cheer me up." I thanked
"That I do Kimmy." Wes agreed
"Hey, where Jen go?" Lucas inquired
Wes and I along with Katie and Trip just looked around to see that she is no longer in the room with us.
'If she is going to talk with Paul by herself, she better chose her words carefully or she'll have another thing coming.' I thought to myself
Paul's POV
As I continue to look out towards Silver Hills, I begin to think back to that note I read earlier.
'I don't know if I really want to find my true destiny.' I thought to myself
"Beautiful isn't it?" A voice questioned
Startled out of my thoughts, I turned around towards where the voice was coming from to see that it was Jen.
"Sorry didn't mean to scare you." Jen apologized
"No worries." I assured her
"Paul, I know how you feel." Jen mentioned
She then sighed before looking back at me.
"I too lost my parents in a car crash when I was roughly around your age." Jen told me
I just look at her in shock.
"You did?" I wondered
She then came over and leaned on the window's edge looking out towards the city as well.
"Yeah I did." Jen confirmed
I just sighed as I too go back to looking out at the city as we both just stare out at it in silence for a bit.
"Does the feeling ever go away?" I questioned
"No it doesn't." Jen revealed
She then sighed.
"But it does get easier." Jen mentioned
"I hope so." I muttered
We just continue to look out the window. But something is kind of bothering me.
"Jen can I ask you something?" I wondered
"What's up?" Jen inquired
"Well if you and your friends have been here in the present for a few months did you already know about what would happen to my family?" I questioned
"No we didn't, Time Force never told us that it would happen." Jen stated
"Well that does put me at ease a bit." I muttered
Just then a robotic Owl came flying in over my head.
'What the hell?' I thought to myself
Jen and I quickly turned around and see the robotic Owl which was mostly blue with a white chest plate.
"Hey, you must be Paul it's a pleasure to finally meet you." It greeted
"And who or what are you?" I wondered confused
"Oh sorry the names Circuit." Circuit stated
"Circuit is a big help to us as he is the link to the future as without him, we wouldn't be able to call on our Zords back home in the future." Jen explained
I just nodded as I just look at Circuit for a bit longer.
"Man, my Grandmother would defiantly love you." I mentioned
Jen then put a hand on my shoulder as I turned towards her.
"Come on, lets go down to the others I think your cousin is worried about you." told me
"Yeah I know she is always worried about me." I stated
I then turned back towards Circuit.
"See ya around Circuit." I told him
"Yeah, take it easy Paul." Circuit told me
Jen and I then walked over towards the stairs as we began to make our long track down them.
"Isn't there an elevator in this place or something?" I wondered
Jen just chuckled.
"Afraid not. Katie thought that exact same thing when Wes first brought us here." Jen revealed
'Who wouldn't think that when they first climb all these stairs?' I thought to myself
Once we made it back down to the lobby, we happen to see the others there talking as Kimberly then spots me.
"Hey, everything all right Paul?" Kimberly inquired
I then walked over towards her.
"Yeah I'm fine cuz." I assured
"Well, I think we should head home I think Jason is getting hungry." Kimberly stated
"Yeah and he isn't the only one." I added
"No surprise there." Kimberly mentioned with a chuckle
I just chuckle as well as the both of us then turned back towards the others.
"Well, have a good night guys." Kimberly told them
"Yeah see you soon." I told them
They nodded as we all waved goodbye to one another as Kimberly and I then walk out head over to where her car is parked. Once there we both hop in.
"Hey how about we order a Pizza?" Kimberly suggested
I just smile at hearing that suggestion.
"Cuz I like your thinking as long as I get my own pie." I told her
"You got it." Kimberly promised
Kimberly then drives off as we then head for the nearest pizza place to get some Pizza.
[Paul: NEXT TIME ON TIME WELL HEAL YOUR HEART:
The image then shows the Rangers being confronted by a rhino with a lightning bolt shape horn looking down at them from on top of a building.
"Who are you?" Paul questioned
"The name is Shock Wave, and I have return to Earth looking for revenge on the original Gold Ranger." Shock Wave announced
'The original Gold Ranger?' Paul thought to himself
"But seeing as how he is no longer around you will do just fine." Shock Wave stated pointing his sword towards Paul
"I don't know who you are or what you are talking about, but if it is a fight you are looking for then you found one." Paul stated
"No fighting this time Gold Ranger, but next time you best be ready for battle." Shock Wave told Paul
Just then, Shock Wave disappeared. The image then switched to Paul and the others inside the Clock Tower.
"Hmm it appears to be that Shock Wave has not been seen since July tenth of 1986 and the last Ranger he faced off against was the Gold Mighty Morphin Thunder Ranger by the name of Francis Golupski." Circuit told them
Lucas then turned towards Paul.
"Paul, is that any relation to you?" Lucas inquired
"Yeah he's my father." Paul admitted
The image then shows Paul's walking over to the window before turning towards the others.
"Shock Wave is back." Circuit informed the Rangers
The image then switches to Paul and Shock Wave fighting each other on a bridge with Paul not fairing too well.
"You guys stay here, this is my fight and my fight alone." I told them
Paul: NEXT TIME ON TIME WELL HEAL YOUR HEART!]
AN: Well, there's the second chapter for this story. Now to explain a few more things, Jen will be a little out of character in this more will be explain as the story goes on. Another thing is that the reason I had put both Jen and Kimberly as the main characters in this story is that next to Paul they are the main characters in this story. I will have the third chapter up either in a few hours or sometime tomorrow night and after that don't expect any new chapters for this story or my other ones till May at the earliest.
