The next morning, Tomoya woke up to see Ushio finally starting to feel better, much to the relief of Tomoya.

"Good morning Daddy!" Ushio beams, a big smile on her face, she was able to move around more, and her fever was significantly lower, as such she was excited about finally starting to feel better after such a long time.

"Good morning sweetie." Tomoya smiles back, "How do you feel?" he asks. Tomoya noticed that while he was talking with Ushio, the girl would glance at his right arm for a couple of seconds.

"I feel a lot better today!" Ushio grins, she definitely was more energetic today, which was a good sign in of itself.

"That's great to hear sweetie, you have no idea how happy that makes Daddy." Tomoya replies. "At this rate, I bet you'll get better in no time!" he tells Ushio, who is clearly looking forward to that day. "When you get all better, we'll go on a trip, how does that sound Ushio?" he asks, with Ushio excitedly agreeing to what her daddy had just said.

"Yay! I can't wait to go on a trip with Daddy!" Ushio excitedly hops up and down

"Yeah, Daddy can't wait for it two." Tomoya smiles with a chuckle, before continuing, "Just remember to take it easy, okay?" he reminds the girl, who nods with a 'mmhmm!'. "I'll go make breakfast, what would you like?" he asks as he heads for the kitchen. Ushio, who after giving it some thought, gives her daddy her answer. Once the two ate, they decided to watch TV. While the two of them were watching a cartoon together, Ushio, appearing to be concerned about something, isn't really paying much attention to the show. Tomoya had a pretty good hunch on what was worrying his little girl. "Something wrong sweetie? You've been glancing at my right arm all morning." Tomoya asks the girl, who has been eyeing her father's right arm for some time now.

"Daddy, is there something wrong with your arm?" Ushio asks, worried for her father.

"Ah, so she did notice my shoulder injury after all." Tomoya thought to himself, "I shouldn't tell her about it being injured during a fight with my old man, she shouldn't know about all that at her age." he adds before answering his daughter. "Daddy's right shoulder got hurt a long time ago. Because of it, my arm can only go up about halfway." he tells Ushio, while he raises his right arm about halfway up to show what he meant.

"Daddy can't go to doctors to fix it?"

"Afraid not. I'm stuck with it."

"How did Daddy's shoulder get hurt?"

"Um, how about Daddy tells you some other time?" Tomoya asks, not wanting Ushio to think any differently of Grandpa Okazaki. The last thing he wanted was for his daughter to be scared of, or spiteful towards her grandpa. Said daughter was still worried about her dad's injured shoulder.

"Does it still hurt Daddy?" Ushio asks, looking at the injured shoulder. Tomoya, giving his daughter a reassuring smile, tells Ushio that it doesn't hurt, and only hurts if he raises his arm too high, which he is always careful of avoiding letting it go too high. "I'm so happy we're finally a family." Ushio smiles, as she feels completely at peace while sitting with her father.

"I am too sweetie, I just wish it didn't take so long for us to become one again."

"I really wish Mommy was still with us. All my friends in school have a mommy and a daddy but… Mommy died giving birth to me." Ushio frowns, her head held low, as she tries to fight back the tears. "I-it's not fair Daddy!" Ushio exclaims, unable to hold back the tears any longer, as Tomoya tries to help her calm down, with Ushio crying in his arms, like back when they were at the field of flowers.

"It's okay Ushio, it's okay, just let it all out, it's okay to cry, Daddy's right here, you don't have to hold any of it in." Tomoya tells his daughter, in a caring voice, as he continues to hug his sobbing daughter.

"I love you Daddy." Ushio manages to say after calming down somewhat. Seeing his own child in this state broke his heart, as he continues to hold his daughter.

"Daddy loves you too Ushio." Tomoya replies, "And so does Mommy. Both Mommy, and Daddy love you very, very much." he adds. Upon hearing this, Ushio smiles as she looks up at the ceiling.

"I love you too Mommy." Ushio says.

"Looks like she's had a lot on her mind while she had this fever." Tomoya mentally notes. "Daddy knows how you feel Ushio, I never knew my Mommy either." he tells Ushio as she looks back at her father surprised.

"Really?"

"Yeah, I lost my Mommy when I was very little, so I don't even remember what she looks like. Instead I only had Grandpa." Tomoya informs his daughter.

"I'm scared that I'm going to lose you too Daddy." Ushio admits, tightening her grip on her father.

"Ushio…." Tomoya says, his heart aching at what he just heard Ushio say to him. "Don't worry Ushio, Daddy's not going anywhere, I plan on sticking around for a long time." Tomoya reassured Ushio.
