The Anthologies of a Sun Dragon
Matches II
"What in the world…?!"
Tai swallowed a lump in his throat. His `Lonely Huntsman´ profile was getting spammed with friend-requests and a handful of chat-requests with various opening lines; he had only been away for about fifteen-to-twenty minutes at best doing chores!
"Is…is this a prank…?"
He sat down and eyed the messages, chat-requests, and his inbox, as anxious as he was in shock over the results. Surely this couldn't have been because of Qrow's suggestion of the selfie…but Tai couldn't quite wrap his head around being this popular regardless. He had been lucky with Raven and Summer, sure, but it wasn't like he had been surrounded by girls and women growing up. There had been that time when a girl from another team the same year had been wanting to hang out with him ever since the joint training exercise now that he thought about it, but she had just wanted to be friends.
…They had lost contact once he got together with Raven though…and then there was that female combat instructor back at Signal, his mentor, who to this day kept asking if he wanted to grab a cup of coffee—
`Ding´
Another friend request added to the counter and broke Tai out of his train of thought. He eyed it, bewildered.
Despite being nervous, his curiosity won over as he clicked on the icon and the myriad of users immediately popped into view, his gaze settling on the very first one according to the time-stamp.
"Whoa…"
[`I Burn´ has sent you a friend request! Do you accept?]
"Oh wow…uh, let's see, I guess," Tai mumbled to himself. "`Looking to meet new people. Fire Fire Fire.´ Hm. I think she's lying about her age. But still…she's, heh, quite the looker. And she sent me a friend request."
There was no denying that this `I Burn´ woman was a dark-haired beauty; her eyes seemed to burn like fire, her skin was fair and contrasted nicely with her long black hair. Her smiled was charming – nay, seductive, and some of her interests had been recently edited, Tai noticed, to include `Has a thing for Bad Boys´.
He chuckled and sheepishly rubbed his neck. "Well then. Duly noted. Uh, how about this next one—"
Blue eyes bulged out. The user named `Speedy Hare´ had attached a photo along with her invite; her pose showed off her athletic body and what a body she had!
"Oh wow…She's definitely younger than me…but we apparently matched; she likes a good work out like me, and she's also a thrill-seeker." He squinted. "`Turn Ons: fitness, muscles, responsible father-figures, blonds´-"
Tai gulped.
"Oh. Lucky me, I guess. Heh."
He continued on. "Huh…`Mighty Tree´? Let's see what—"
His heart skipped a beat. This swarthy giant of a woman had the right curves and muscles that made Tai scream inwardly with delight. And the way she was posing in only a sports-bra and spats pants really made her hips and busts pop out.
Blood rushed to his face. "Ahem. I should probably not be thinking like this…I'm after something more serious—"
Blood then rushed to between his legs as additional messages from said users showed up with attached pictures clearly taken recently, all of which being suggestive, with `Speedy Hare´ even having added the caption `Like what you see, fellow fitness enthusiast?´
"Oh boy…I mean…" He cracked a small smile. "I do appreciate a healthy woman—"
[Hot Cocoa wants to chat with you! Accept chat?]
"Oh, uhm…" He gulped. "Oh dear…this was sent almost fifteen minutes ago. Should I click off the notification…?" Tai mumbled, his limited computer knowledge beginning to show as he anxiously attempted to reject the invitation.
A secondary window popped up to his dismay while a connection was established.
"Wait, what? No no no, I didn't mean—!"
"Why hello there. Took your little time there, huh?" A voice, tone indicating amusement, came from the other feed as the image of a young woman, a brunette, appeared. "It's alright, though. I figured you were busy."
Tai flustered. "Oh, ah…Sorry about that, haha! I wasn't actually expecting to get any matches, at least not so soon! Gods, this is embarrassing…"
The brunette chuckled. "Don't worry your pretty head about it. I'd say it was worth the wait." Her lips curled up in a neat smirk. "So, `LoveDaddy´, we appear to be rather compatible. I do enjoy a person with a wholesome sense of humour, but who also seeks thrills."
Tai chuckled nervously, desperate to keep his cool. This woman was definitely much younger than him and while he certainly didn't mind the attention, he hadn't been out on the dating scene in a long time. He quickly glanced over `Hot Cocoa´s profile, making mental notes.
"Well, that's me alright! Gotta live each day like it's your last, but I'm fairly down to earth and chill, you know? I see you're quite the fashionista."
"Mhm. That's right; I'm all about trends and clothes," she stated and leaned closer to the cam, and Tai could immediately spot her cleavage popping into view as she pushed up her bust. "But my favourite trend would have to be Au Naturel~"
"Au Natur—" He blinked, heat further burning his cheeks. "Oh! Uhm, y-yeah, haha! That's, ah…"
"You are just the cutest when you blush." She chuckled and wiggled her eyebrows suggestively at him. "That's so rare to find in a man these days; handsome, fit, and cute all in one package. And a single dad too…I would've suggested to help you with your kids, but I know your daughters are old enough."
"Wow. Uh, yeah. My daughters—" Tai's eyes widened. "Wait, how did you know—?"
"I know your daughters, Ruby and Yang, Mr. Xiao-Long." She snickered and winked at him. "How about it, hot stuff? Wanna make it weird?"
This was when Tai felt truly torn; one side of him enjoying the attention from a younger woman with clear advances and goals, and another feeling morally repulsed.
"I, uhm…How old are you…?"
"19 and counting closer to 20, daddy," she told him, batting her eyelashes as she punctuated the strangely loin-throbbing nickname. "How about it? You should know that I don't think I'll accept a simple `No´ though~"
He opened his mouth to speak, but he didn't have the words. Fortunately, there was noise coming from the other side of the feed and the young brunette turned around with a visible scowl.
"Looks like we'll have to rain-check this one," she told him. "I'll keep in touch, handsome."
The chat ended and `Hot Cocoa´'s profile indicated she had logged out, leaving Tai to slump in his seat.
"…This…took a turn."
He entertained the idea of logging out (or just delete the profile in general) and resume cleaning around the house. The idea of someone that much younger than him coming on to him –and knew his daughters! – was a thought that shook him to the core, even if they had matched.
…So why was the notion somewhat flattering? He knew better than to think like that—
His Scroll buzzed, distracting the blond as he quickly answered. "Yes, hello? Xiao-Long speaking."
There was a quiet gasp from the other end and someone clearing their throat. "Hello, Taiyang. It's Glynda."
"Oh, hello, Glynda!" He exclaimed. "How are you? Brothers, it's been a while! To whom do I owe the pleasure for this call?"
"Oh you. I simply decided to resume contact. As you just said, it's been a while. We used to be so close back in the day…It's a shame we drifted apart."
Tai rubbed his neck sheepishly and sighed. "Yeah…I'm so sorry about that. Work has demanded much of my time lately and then there was the whole thing with Summer…" He stifled another sigh. "Still, I should've at least called. Same with old Oz, really."
"I perfectly understand, Tai. But it's not too late to do something about this," Glynda told him. She cleared her throat again, her inflection a bit merrier. "How about we meet up over a cup of coffee sometime soon? Or…would you like to come over for dinner the next time you're in the City of Vale?"
Tai smiled. Meeting up with an old friend was exactly what he needed right now. "You know what? That sounds great! If you're free, I could make it to City of Vale in an hour."
"O-Oh?! Y-yes, of course! That sounds—!" She fell silent for a moment. "I mean, that sounds reasonable. I know of a cozy little café not far from the station."
"Then it's a date. I'll see you soon then."
"Yes…See you soon."
They ended the call and Tai chuckled. He could always clean the house tomorrow; it would feel good to meet up with an old friend and get some fresh air for a little while – to not focus on the dating scene, or at least not his daughters' friend.
In a better mood, Tai got up to prepare for the short journey and call his daughters to let them know he would be gone for a little bit, completely forgetting to log out in the process.
`Ding´
"´You've been matched with `LoveDaddy´! Click to start chatting or send a friend request.´ ?" Red eyes scanned the message over and over as a single eyebrow cocked, puzzled. "What kind of name is that? Oh well, might as well check—"
`LoveDaddy's´ profile came up, displaying the handsome blond in his shirtless glory.
"…Well then. He seems to live up to his name." The girl brushed mint-green bangs out of her face and went to fetch a basic makeup kit. "Oh this will do just nicely…I got to show Cinder this hunk later. Now, which to choose; lingerie or business-like?"

"Huh? I recognize…wait, isn't this the boss' ex?"
Vernal eyed the screen in mild disbelief; she had seen this man before from an old, hidden photo her boss had kept from years ago and much like said boss, the blond man had aged exceptionally well. He was certainly older, but handsome and kept his body fit and strong.
"…Should I?" She raked her eyes over the shirtless man with growing interest and pooling heat between her legs. "If I lie, maybe she can open up a portal to him…"
Vernal could ask right away what with her plan quickly formulating in her mind, but the urge to take a moment and…appreciate the picture for a little while was tempting.
"Why would she throw this away?"
With a slight smirk, Vernal unbuttoned her pants.

"Suit or casual? I have to look presentable." Amber eyes scoured the selection of articles. "Casual. No, wait. Suit. Actually, no; casual at first, suit for the date."
The white-haired woman chose a tested-and-true muted lilac, buttoned up shirt with a high collar that she neatly corrected and folded before striding over to the mirror, adjusting her hair and inspecting her makeup. A touch of vague rouge was applied and a bit of faint eyeshadow would do wonders.
Once done, she sat down in front of her computer, hovering over the option to start a chat/send friend request to a certain `LoveDaddy´.
Straightening her back and squaring her shoulders, the pale-haired woman cleared her throat. "Ahem. Hello, this is Lisa Lavender. A pleasure to- Ugh, no. Save that for the job, Lisa." She peered absentmindedly to the side. "Hello, `LoveDaddy´, this is `LonelyReporter69-" She shook her head. "No, no, no. That won't do. Too formal. Remember what site you're on and your target audience."
She took a deep breath and closed her eyes.
"This just in; lonely reporter finds a perfect match and attempts to establish connection in the hopes of a date and more. Find out what makes this reporter buck and arch at ten, live from her bedroom." She clasped her hands together for a moment. "…Maybe?"
Her hands slowly lowered towards the desk, fingers drumming against the wooden surface.
"Hello there, `LoveDaddy´; it would seem that you and I matched, and I would love to get to know you better…perhaps over a cup of coffee? Or maybe over dinner?" She clicked her fingers. "Got it! Lisa, you've done it again!"

Olive eyes were glued to the screen, wide and barely blinking. Heat suffused fair cheeks the longer the young woman eyed the shirtless human blond and his athletic physique, and when she did managed to look away her gaze just as quickly returned.
"I…wasn't prepared…" she meekly commented. "I shouldn't be looking much, but…"
Her small sheep ears wiggled a little.
"…It wouldn't hurt to send a friend-request, right?"

"I know that man."
Willow put away her wineglass and glanced over at her oldest daughter. "Oh?"
"He's one of Qrow Branwen's friends. I believe they were in the same team together in the past," Winter stated. "He's also the father of two of Weiss' teammates."
"I can certainly understand why he's a father," Willow commented and chuckled. "It would appear that I got lucky right off the bat."
"So it would seem."
"I'm not sure about the thrill-seeking part, though…" Willow rested her head against her hand. "But I do appreciate a family man. Gods know I could've used one in the past."
Winter cracked a slight smile. "Indeed. But you should probably not wait with contacting him."
The older Schnee turned to the younger. "You think others are lining up for him?"
"I'm just saying, if you don't go for him, then I will."
Willow cocked an eyebrow from the statement and slowly hovered over to the computer. "Very well then. Let's give this a try."
Winter nodded and promptly left, leaving her mother to her business.
The second she stepped out of the office, she fished up her Scroll.
