Hello people! I was supposed to update this earlier, but I was busy with other things. Anyway, here's the new chapter! Hope you enjoy. Please review.

Chapter 12: Confessions

A couple of days had passed by since our meeting. Sora was getting things ready to leave to England while Mimi was anxious to spend her vacation in Japan with her friends. The rest of us were taking our last exams before summer break.

Mimi was lying on her bed with her laptop on top of her as she waited for her skype account to log in. She was so eager to talk to her auburn friend that she ignored the need to sleep.
"Hello, Mimi." Sora greeted with a warm smile. "How are you?"
"Sleepy." She laughed. "But I really wanted to talk to you before you leave."
"Okay. So what do you want to say?"
"Well, I just wanted to wish you good luck." The girl stopped talking and furrowed her eyebrows. "What is going on?"
"What?" Piyomon's partner sounded alarmed.
"I know you better than this, Sora. Something happened."
"Fine." Sora sighed. "Something did happen. Or almost."
"You're making me anxious. Spill it."
"I got my first detention a few days ago."
"YOU WHAT?" Mimi yelled.
"I know. I was never in detention before."
"What happened?"
"Yamato and I got carried away in a conversation about first kisses and it disturbed the class."
"Wait, why would you and Yamato talk about first kisses? Unless you… Sora!"
"What? I didn't say anything." She could feel her cheeks burning.
"Were you ever planning on telling me you had your first kiss?"
"Does it matter, Mimi? It wasn't a big deal."
"Of course it was! It's your first kiss."
"I guess." She shrugged.
"So, who was it with? Was it good?"
"Will you promise not to laugh?"
"Was it that bad? Were you forced to do it? Taichi and Yamato should know about it."
"That's not it, Mimi." Sora put a lock of her hair behind her ear. "I don't know if it counts as a first kiss. I was doing a favor to a friend and he was also helping me at the same time."
"I would never imagine you doing such thing." Mimi put her hand under her chin, looking genuinely interested. "Go on."
"I can't really tell you who it is, I'm sorry. Yamato already knows and I have to keep a constant eye on him so he won't tease him about it."
"Why would Yamato tease the guy you had your first kiss with? Sora, I have no idea what's going on here. I'm lost."
"He accidentally found out I kissed Koushiro." The tennis player immediately covered her mouth with her hand when she realized she had slipped his name.
"You kissed Koushiro?! And as a favor?!"
"Mimi, you have to promise me you won't tell him about it." Sora begged. "You know he's really shy about romantic relationships and the last thing I want is him being teased about it. You can't say a word about it, especially to Taichi. It's bad enough that you and Yamato already know."
"Okay, I won't say a word."
"I'm serious, Mimi. This has to stay between us."
"I know, Sora. Gee, it seems like you don't trust me with secrets."
"I do trust you. But I also know you don't really control what you say and often let something meant to be a secret slip."
"Just like you did now?" She stuck out her tongue.
"Ha-ha. Very funny."
"So are you excited for the tournament?"
"I'm more like freaked out. I have no idea what England will be like. I'm afraid I will embarrass myself in front of English people. They seem so polite and elegant."
Mimi couldn't help but laugh at her friend's despair. Sora pouted and made an angry face.
"I don't understand what's so funny about it."
"You made it seem like they are untouchable. They aren't Gods, Sora. So what if you make a fool of yourself in front of them? I'm sure you can also be as polite and elegant as them. If not more."
"Thanks." The girl grinned. "I have the best example in my house, right?"
"That's right." Mimi agreed. "So, have you confessed to Yamato already?"
She saw her friend turn bright red on the other side and a smile crept on her lips. She then clapped her hands together excitedly.
"Something happened between you two! I want to know all about it!"
"Nothing happened between us, Mimi." Sora tried to say as calm as she could after she recomposed herself. "I will only tell you about it if you don't go around blurting it out to everyone just because you're too happy about it."
"Alright, I promise." She said quickly. "Now tell me."
"Okay, so we were on detention and there was this tension when I almost fell down the ladder and he picked me up."
"That's so sweet! So did you kiss him afterwards? Or he kissed you?"
"We didn't kiss, sorry to disappoint you."
"Ah, Sora. You need to take advantage of situations like this!"
"I'm just not brave enough." Sora sighed. "What happens if he says no?"
"You move on."
"And how do you expect me to face him everyday at school after being turned down?"
"You're way too pessimist. If you have faith, you'll get him."
"He's not an object, Mimi." She slapped her forehead. "And I would have to deal with the wrath of his crazy obsessed fans."
"Who the hell uses the word wrath nowadays? Just say angry."
"Whatever."
"Anyway, what else happened?"
"My ankle was swollen and I could barely walk. He offered to take me to the nursing room, but the pain was fading so I refused. We just stayed there and he remembered a bet we sorta made earlier about him kissing the first girl he saw. He said the first girl would be me and we almost kissed."
"Oh my God, Sora!" Mimi squealed. "He almost kissed you?"
"Yes. And I would have kissed him back if he did."
"See, I told you have feelings for each other."
"Maybe."
"So what are you gonna do about it?"
"Nothing." She shrugged. "I will have a few days away from him and I should be able to think clearly."
"It will be good for you. When are you leaving?"
"In three days. The closer it gets, more nervous I become."
"We won't be able to see each other this summer." Mimi said sadly. "My flight is in five days and I'm only staying two weeks."
"You're coming to Japan? Why didn't you tell me?"
"I wanted it to be a surprise. It sucks I will have to wait another year to see you."
"I know. I promise I'll make it up to you when we do."
"You better."
"I have to go now, Mimi. Taichi is having us over tonight for a small goodbye party for me."
"I always miss these kinds of events. I want to move back to Japan."
"Why don't you ask your parents? You are more than welcome to live with us. I'm sure my mother would love it."
"Maybe I will. Okay, I don't want to hold you any longer. Have fun at the party."
"I will. Bye."
"Bye."

Yamato was lying down on the larger couch when Takeru walked in the living room and sat in the smaller one with a bowl of peanuts in his hands.
"What are you watching?
"Nothing, I'm just flipping through channels." He replied without looking away from the television.
The younger blonde ate a handful of peanuts. "Are you ever going to tell me what happened to be in detention?"
Yamato simply raised an eyebrow and looked at him. "I assume Sora told you."
"Not just me, everyone. But she didn't get into details, so I'm hoping you do."
"We were just having a sort of heated argument and it got the teacher's attention."
"What were you arguing about?"
"We were talking about… you're too young to understand."
"I'm eleven, Yamato." Takeru protested. "I thought you would stop treating me like I'm baby already. I hated it when I was eight and I hate it even more now."
"I'm not allowed to say, Takeru. If I tell you what it was about, I will have to tell the whole story and there are other people involved. I promised her this would be a secret."
"Okay."
"I need to tell you something, but you have to promise not to be too happy about it."
"Let me guess… you finally kissed Sora."
"I swear you have psychic abilities sometimes. Well, I didn't kiss. It almost happened though."
"Are you serious?" He exclaimed a little loud. "How did it happen?"
"She almost fell from the ladder and I caught her before she hit the floor. Then we started talking about our families and a bet we sort of had made."
"What bet?"
"She basically dared to kiss the first girl I'd see because she didn't believe I'd go for it. The thing was she was the first girl."
"So why didn't you go through with it?"
"Because it's too risky, Takeru." Yamato ruffled his hair. "There's too much on the game."
"How did she react about it?"
"She was disappointed, I guess."
"See, Yamato? She wants to be with you too! It's time you do something about it. Stop thinking it won't work and start believing it will."
"It's just infatuation, Takeru. Neither of us are in the same page. By the time she comes back from England, it will all be gone."
"You really think so?"
"You don't?"
"Of course I don't. I only considered it because of how much you kept telling all about it."
"I just want to see you happy, Yamato."
"I know, but she's not the one. I have plenty of time to find the right woman, so let's not rush it."
"I still think it's Sora, no matter how you try to convince me otherwise. The more you do, more convinced I become. But hopefully you will realize it soon."
"Whatever, Takeru."
"You should really hire someone to clean this apartment." He removed a pile of clothes from the couch so he could sit down. "This place is a mess."
"It works fine for us." Yamato replied with annoyance as he grabbed the pile from Takeru 's hands and threw it elsewhere.
"Yamato, I'm home." Mr. Ishida announced as he closed the door.
"Oh great. We were just waiting for you to have dinner."
"We? Is Gabumon here?"
"No, dad." The blonde laughed. "But I'm sure he would love to be."
"Hello!" Takeru came out from behind him and grinned.
"Takeru?!" Hiroaki exclaimed with surprise. "I didn't know you were coming."
"Neither did I. We had a meeting earlier and it sort of came up."
"I see." He looked around his apartment. "I would have hired someone to clean this mess."
"I can do it."
"No." Yamato meddled in. "You're our guest. I can clean it."
"It's okay, Yamato. I can…"
"Leave it. I got everything under control. Why don't you go wash your hands so we can eat?"
"Fine.' He threw his hands in the air, giving up. "Dad, you know what?"
"What?"
"Yamato has a girlfriend."
"What?"
"TAKERU, WHAT THE HELL?"
"Wasn't I supposed to say it?"
"Who is she?" Mr. Ishida asked after he had a sip of water.
"No, dad. Takeru is lying, I don't have a girlfriend."
"Yes, you do."
"Is she someone I know?"
"Yes, she's also a Destined Child."
"Takeru, will you stop making this up? You are really pushing your luck."
"You can't beat me. Dad will protect me."
"Whatever."
"You can't hit your brother, Yamato."
"Dad, do you see what he's doing? He's clearly trying to annoy me."
"Still, you can't beat him."
"Ugh, some things never get old." Yamato frowned and leaned back on his chair.
"What' s wrong with getting a girlfriend, Yamato? It's normal, especially at your age."
"There's nothing wrong with it, but I don't have a girlfriend."
"Who is she, Takeru?"
"You remember Sora, right?"
"The girl with the blue hat?"
"That's the one."
"Interesting. I like her."
Yamato covered his face with his hand and sighed with disbelief.

Koushiro was checking his e-mails when he heard a familiar voice echoing in his bedroom. He immediately minimized the screen and came across Tentomon staring at him. He couldn't help but smile widely.
"Tentomon!"
"Koushiro, you look great! How are you?"
"I'm good, thanks. How are you? We haven't seen each other for so long!"
"I'm good too. I know, it's been a long time." Tentomon looked to his left side.
"Is everything okay?"
"Why? Does it look like something is wrong?"
"I think you'd realize I know you deeply by now." He smiled. "You always look to your side when something is off. What is it?"
"It's bad, Koushiro."
"Are you talking about the situation in the Digital World? Has it gotten worse? Why didn't Gennai contact me to talk about this?"
"He's busy trying to prevent the Digimon Emperor's moves. Me, Agumon and the others are monitoring the Digital World, but we aren't that much of a help in this level. We need to evolve."
"Yeah, but you can't get past Kabuterimon. I don't think we could beat his army with our partners in the Champion level."
"The black towers have increased greatly these past few days. We need help, Koushiro."
"But Hikari, Takeru and the others are taking care of it, Tentomon. They are doing their best."
"It's not enough, we need extra help."
"But there's nothing we can do. Right now you can't even evolve to Kabuterimon." Koushiro paused when he heard a bit coming from the computer. "Hold on, I think this is coming from my map of black towers."
"Alright."
The red haired boy lowered the screen his partner was and took a look at the map. A large space one of their partners was supposed to guard became fully black.
"Oh no!"
"What happened, Koushiro?"
"Tentomon, who was in charge of the area near the beach?"
'I believe it was Agumon."
"Can you check that information, please? I need to know if he's okay."
"You think something happened to him?"
"It's too soon to say something. That's why you need to make sure, before I tell Taichi about it."
"Okay. I'll come back very quickly."
Koushiro looked at the screen and hoped his suspicious were wrong. He really didn't want to break such horrible news to his friend.

As you probably noticed, this scene with Koushiro is supposed to be the one in the ending of episode 09 from Zero Two. Things will get worse in the next chapter. Thanks for reading!
