Thank you to everyone who followed! Here's the next chapter!
I woke up on a hill. It appeared to be in the middle of the night. Also raining. I looked around. A pine tree…
It took everything I had not to squeal in delight. I turned around, bracing myself for the sight in front of me. It was beautiful. I could see the Big House. The cabins. Everything.
I took shelter under the tree and opened the book at the bookmark and saw that he was at the part where he was finding out Grover was a satyr. He was close, then.
I ran down the hill, trying to find Chiron, or Annabeth, or just anyone. I got to the Big House, and knocked on the door. A man in a wheelchair answered it. "Oh, who are you?"
"My name is Leah Sooth. Daughter of Apollo." I took a deep breath, "May I speak with you and Annabeth Chase?"
"Annabeth? But she's sleeping, why would you need to speak with her at this late hour."
Annabeth had to be in Big House, too. That's where she was at the beginning of the book.
"Then can we get her here? I'm afraid it's urgent."
Annabeth appeared next to me, taking off her hat. "Luckily for you, I was headed here anyway."
I felt a thrill of excitement. Her invisibility hat! Annabeth!
"Good," I stated, complimenting my acting skills. "Listen, I'm new here and-"
"Chiron, is she the one?"
Chiron shushed Annabeth, but seemed intrigued himself.
"Actually…" I wondered how much I could tell, "I am not the demigod you're waiting for, Annabeth. But they will be arriving soon."
I hoped I wouldn't get cursed for that.
Annabeth looked at me with curiosity, "How can you say that with such certainty."
Now was the time for lies, "Oh, you see, I was born with the special ability to—"
Annabeth cut me off, "See the future! Of course! You're a child of Apollo, and you know, that gift is really rare."
"Of course I know." I chuckled a little bit.
"So what is the urgency?" Chiron asked, bringing me back on topic.
I cracked open my book to see where Percy was. On Half-Blood Hill, his mother… I shut the book. "A new demigod is coming soon. He will be a little injured and his mother…" I wasn't sure what to say here, "Well, he'll be sensitive to that. But there'll also be a satyr. The demigod will drag the satyr from the property line." I pointed to the door, "to the porch."
"Oddly specific," Annabeth stated, raising an eyebrow.
I shrugged, "I just wanted to provide you with as much information as possible."
"Right…"
I felt a cold feeling of anxiety, Annabeth couldn't doubt me. Could she?
"So if you want to provide as many details as possible, why were you so vague about the demigod who was supposed to be my big break?"
Oh, that was all? "I'm not really feeling like being cursed for saying too much about consequential things."
Annabeth brightened, "So my quest will be important?"
I smirked at her, "Maybe."
Thump
We all looked at the porch. Annabeth and Chiron opened the door and I saw for the first time ever, Percy Jackson in the flesh, this was the boy who would become one of the greatest heroes of Olympus!
Annabeth was not thinking the same thing as me, though something similar. Her eyes widened, "He's the one, he must be!"
"Hush Annabeth, he's still conscious, bring him inside."
I bit my lip to keep from squealing.
I watched them bring him inside. He was unconscious now, so I'd have to wait before I could see exactly what color of Sea-Green his eyes were.
"Leah." I heard Chiron say.
I looked over at him, "Yeah?"
"Have you inherited any of your father's gifts with healing?"
I thought for a second, how would I go about healing him..? I had no clue. "Yeah, that would be a no."
Chiron chuckled, "Too gifted in other ways, I see. I suppose we'll just have to get one of your siblings-"
"I can do it." Annabeth volunteered.
Percabeth, Percabeth, Percabeth!
Chiron sighed, "You may be disappointed again, child, are you alright with that?"
Annabeth nodded. "I have a good feeling about him."
I practically bubbled up with excitement, though I kept my face neutral. This was turning out to be a lot more fun than I originally thought.
