The forest of Forever Fall is arguably one of the most peaceful forests in all of Remnant. It also has a few well-hidden secrets, one of them being a hideout deep in the forest. The hideout belonged to the White Fang, a group of faunus extremists whose sole intent is to make humanity suffer for their mistreatment of faunus. However, standing on the roof of the facility was a faunus who had another goal in mind. He was about 16 years old, with light brown skin and striking red hair. He wore a black tank top, which exposed his muscular arms, as well a black pants, boots, and a body holster that held two automatic blasters across his back. To top it off, he wore a White Fang mask that he had spray painted dark grey. As for what kind of faunus he was, it was hard to say. His arms and face had dark spots on them, showing evidence of a chameleon faunus, but there was something else. His forearms also had a few curved spikes sticking out of them, he had fanged teeth, and, the most obvious, was that he had a tail that was naturally armored and had a dagger-like appendage at the end; all the result of a super soldier experiment by the White Fang. His name was Hector.

Looking out to the forest below, Hector was getting ready to jump away into the trees, when he heard a voice behind him.

"What are you doing up here?" it said.

Hector spun around to see a girl with a red ponytail and a black jumpsuit come out of the roof access door and walk up to him.

"Ilia." Hector said, "I thought you were at that debrief with Adam."

"I just got out." Ilia said, "I was actually supposed to come looking for you."

"Is that so?"

Ilia nodded: "Blake said you looked a bit unstable when we left. What happened?"

Hector sighed: "I'm leaving."

"What do you mean?"

"The White Fang. I'm leaving the White Fang."

Ilia looked shocked: "What?! Why?!"

"It's because of what happened during the mission." Hector began to explain.

The scene flashes back to Hector, Ilia, Adam, and Selina Kahn running through the corridor of an Atlesian base. They had ducked behind the entrance to a hallway where their target was being kept. The only problem was that a massive robotic guard was standing watch. Peeking around the corner, Hector then turned to the others.

"Be right back," he said. Then, he turned invisible and ran down towards the robot. The robot was still scanning for enemies, even using thermal sensors; it was all in vain thanks to Hector's semblance. Hector leapt off the wall, landed on the robot's back, and rammed his hand through the armor; which was actually easy due to his strength enhancement. Ripping out whatever wiring he could, Hector had to jump off to avoid being crushed as the robot lost power and fell over. Turning visible again, he called out: "All clear!"

He spoke too soon as four guards came out of the door at the end of the hallway and began to fire at Hector. Turning around, Hector got on all fours and ran towards the guards, leaping from wall to wall until he tackled the three; his three companions running past the brawl. Hector got back up, and pulled the handles on his guns, rotating them till they pointed up. A click was heard, and then he drew out the melee form of his weapons: twin katanas with straightened blades. He dispatched of the first two guards quickly, but the third and fourth guard anticipated this and stepped back, only getting their helmets sheared off by the attack. Hector prepared to make another strike, but stopped short as he saw the guards under their helmets. Reaching with his tail, he ripped the rest of the helmets off one of the guards and gasped in shock, the guard had small horns under the helmet.

"You're…you're a faunus?" Hector said.

"So am I," the other guard said, removing her helmet to show cat ears. Hector stood in shock and quickly sheathed his katanas. Then, he stood aside to let the guards go past him.

"You're letting us go?" the cat guard asked.

Hector nodded: "I joined the White Fang to help faunus, not hurt them. If you hurry you can make it out before the others finish their business in that room."

The guards began to head out, but then the horned guard turned back and said: "Just so you know, most of the White Fang don't care if one is faunus or human anymore. To them, if you're in their way, you're an enemy." Before running out of the hallway with the other guard.

As Hector watched them go, he though back to all of his missions; how many faunus had he killed without realizing it? It filled him with dread and guilt.

The scene switches back to Hector and Ilia on the roof.

"So, just because of that, you're leaving?" Ilia said.

"I can't be part of a group that claims to help faunus, but probably kills them without even knowing or caring." Hector said.

"Where do you even plan on going?"

"To be honest, I'm not sure. Just anywhere away from here. You can join me if you want…sister."

Ilia stared at her brother in shock; he used to be the most loyal soldier of the White Fang, even volunteering for a super soldier project, but what she was hearing now was something completely different. She wanted to go with him, but then she decided against it.

"I want to fight for a good cause." She finally said, "Right now, the White Fang is the only way for me to do that."

"Suit yourself", Hector said, "Catch you later, I guess."

He turned to leave, but as he did, he felt a jolt as Ilia's whip wrapped around his arm.

"Sorry," Ilia said, "But I can't let you leave."

Hector grabbed the whip and managed to unwrap it from his arm, then he turned to face his twin sister.

"I really didn't want to do this," he said, and raised his arms in an aggressive position as two massive blades sprung from his forearms; one from each arm. Then he dashed toward Ilia, and, before she could react, pinned her to the wall by the fabric of her outfit.

"But you leave me no choice," he finished. Then, he grabbed a pair of cuffs from Ilia's belt and cuffed her hand to the door. Then he turned to leave as Ilia struggled against the cuffs.

"You won't get away with this!" Ilia shouted: "Adam will find you."

Hector chuckled: "Let him try." Then, turning to face his sister, said, "Goodbye, sis." And then jumped off the roof, landing safely in the trees, as he ran through them away from the facility, he could hear Ilia's voice shouting out his name; quite loudly actually. Meanwhile, Adam and Blake ran onto the roof, alerted by Ilia's shouts.

"Ilia?" Blake said, running over to her and undoing the cuffs, "Are you okay?"

Ilia looked up at Blake, tears in her eyes: "Hector."

"What about him?" Adam asked.

Ilia sniffled before saying, "He's gone. He left us."

Adam looked out towards the forest: "What the hell is he thinking?!" he said furiously.

"I don't know," Ilia said, "I tried to stop him, but…" was all she could get out before breaking down again. Blake placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. While Adam continued looking out to the forest, clenching his teeth in anger knowing full well that he would never be able to find Hector; his semblance was too powerful. Hector himself watched from the trees at Adam and Blake. He would miss his old friends, but his choice was made, and he had to right whatever wrongs he caused in the White Fang. Giving one last glance back at the facility, he turned and ran through the trees towards wherever his new path may lead him.

Author's note: Hector Amitola is the twin brother of Ilia Amitola. Originally a chameleon faunus like his sister, he became a loyal White Fang soldier, volunteering for an experimental super soldier project that not only enhanced his physical prowess, but also gave him some new features: two blades that deploy from his arms (similar to Baraka from Mortal Kombat) and a prehensile tail that had a stabbing appendage at the end (similar to what the xenomorph has). His semblance is Stealth, which allows him to camouflage himself from nearly any form of detection; from the naked eye to the most advanced thermal and motion sensors. His weapons are two Atlesian automatic blasters that also act as sheaths for twin katanas, which he can bring out by rotating the handle on the guns to connect the handles to the blades.
