The second prompt since my computer crashed. (sorry again) It goes:
6Amaya6 - David being hurt physically or emotionally and Wes comforting him.
Wes was sitting in the dorm room he shared with David and was doing some homework. Who knew a sophomore could have so much homework? He'd been at it all afternoon. He even had to cancel Warblers' rehearsal today. He did it because he wasn't the only one with a triple mountain of homework to get through. The seniors and juniors were as well. Figures that the school would be going easy on the freshmen. The little runts had nothing to do… at all! Life just wasn't fair. At the exact moment that thought ended the door to his and David's room burst open and David ran into the room. Wes turned around to kindly ask him to be a bit quieter and had just enough time to see the tears on David's face before the younger boy threw himself onto his bed and buried his face in his pillow.
"Dave", Wes asked and the younger boy curled up. "You okay?" Wes put his pen aside and got up, sitting beside David on the bed.
"…" David replied into the pillow.
"I have no idea what that means", Wes replied gently and started rubbing David's back. He started thinking back to after classes. David had been so happy. He was going to Crawford to see his girlfriend.
"Did something happen at Crawford?" he asked and David nodded. "What happened?"
"…" David spoke into the pillow again.
"Dave I don't speak muffle", Wes said gently. David lifted his head and looked at Wes.
"G'y c't'ed", he mumbled.
"Uh Mumbles I don't understand"
"Well then", the guy said and smiled. "My name is George. What's yours?"
"…"
"Well then 'Mumbles', come along", George said and started to walk but then he realized something and turned around and grabbed hold of "Mumbles'" hand.
"Sorry", he said and looked at the boy that looked sad. "I didn't mean to sound mean calling you Mumbles like that. Come I'll show you to your room." He still held "Mumbles'" hand as he lead him towards the dorms.
Wes smiled and jumped when a hand waved in front of his face. David was looking at him strangely.
"Sorry Dave", Wes said and smiled gently. "I zoned out there. Care to tell me what's the matter?"
David looked down.
"Gaby cheated…" he whispered. Wes looked at him.
"That bitch!" he said and David stared at him. "Don't look at me like that, I'm not always a polite gentleman. Now tell me what happened."
David told him about what had happened. He'd arrived at Crawford to pick up Gaby, his girlfriend, they had a date. When he got there though he found her kissing another guy and it wasn't an innocent one either. She did have the audacity to look scared and ashamed at being caught and the other guy looked confused when he saw David there. He clearly had no idea Gaby was seeing both of them at the same time. She said it was to determent who was the best out of them all. At that point David and the other guy left. Them all spoke of more than just the two of them. David looked at Wes and noticed nothing but fury in his dark eyes. His face looked calm and relaxed but his eyes were stormy with anger. Wes looked at David.
"Leave it to me", he said and got his phone out.
"What?" David asked but Wes held up his hand.
"Hi Julia", he said. "Listen… does Crawford still have that chimpanzee costume with the baby chimp?"
David stared at him. Wes smirked.
"Is there a way for you to put it on Gaby in freshman year? Um… Gaby…" he looked at David. David mouthed Jackson. "Jackson. Yeah okay, thanks. No no she just cheated on David with a bunch of guys. Yeah exactly, just like they taught us. Okay bye."
David gave him a strange look
"What", Wes said. "In biology class they told us about how some female chimps have sex with lots of males so that no one will know who's the baby is so they won't kill it and that they'll all protect her and the baby."
"We didn't have sex without-"
"Too much information David just stop." Wes said and hugged David close while chuckling. David snuggled close. "Feeling better now that I can promise total humiliation for Gaby?"
David nodded but then sniffled.
"It hurts", he said and Wes hugged him closer.
"I know buddy, believe me I know. Love hurts sometimes."
David sniffled and clung to him.
"Can… can you sing me a song? Mom always used to do that to me when I was little and whenever I was sad… when I'm sad at home she does it still."
"Oh so I'm your mommy?"
"'Course not. You're Big Brother Bird. We're Bird Brothers."
Wes chuckled and smiled.
"Will you sing to me now?" David asked and looked up at him. Wes laughed again.
"Give me a second will you?" he said. "I need to figure out what to sing."
Wes thought for a bit before sitting up straight and started singing, but changed a little of the lyrics at the end (italics):

David smiled and spent the rest of the night talking, hugging and having fun with his big brother away from home. It was nice having an older sibling for once. Someone to look after him instead of the other way around. Wes was a great friend and a great big brother. David was happy he had him and the next day when a picture of Gaby in a chimp suit with two little baby chimps attached to it appeared on his phone David could laugh at his pain.
The thing about the chimps I learned on a TV-show on animal planet. The song is Rod Stewart and a special little "hope you noticed" to hallescomet97 who helps me get inspired. I made a shout out to her in the story, let's see if she noticed ;)
