CHAPTER 6
In any relationship, the essence of trust is not in its bind, but in its bond. So hold the hand of the person whom you love rather than expecting them to hold yours...
The vibrant rays of the sun woke her up. She opened her eyes only to find out that she was in his room. She jerked back immediately. She was in his room. What was she doing in his room?
No gentle bred lady should be in another man's room and especially wearing a thin night dress like hers.
Her head hurt and it was getting very difficult staying in the same position, her mind felt like there was two of everything.
She tried to recall what had happened last night for her to end up in this situation; she again blushed at that thought.
Her body felt like it was on fire, she slumped back into the bed hoping the dizziness would pass. When she opened her eyes he was standing in front of her.
At first she thought she was seeing things but when he came to her and placed his warm hands on her forehead making her shiver with his touches, all her doubts vanished.
"Whaaa" she smacked his hands away and looked up at his face, which clearly had an irritated look.
"How are you feeling?" He asked.
"What do you mean? I am perfectly fine" and as if on cue another wave of dizziness engulfed her.
"Ahhh" she moaned placing her hand over her head, why was she feeling so weak.
Takumi handed her a glass of water and helped her get up.
"You are clearly not fine". He said in a clipped voice.
Misaki took the glass and didn't bother denying him, she was that tired.
"What time is it?" She asked in a choked voice.
"3:23 pm", he replied without a thought.
"What?"
She suddenly got up trying to keep her body stable. What the heck, it was 3:23; the entire household must be searching for her.
She groaned thinking about the consequences of her absence. Manager would have her head in a platter.
She got up from the bed but Takumi's firm hands pulled her back.
"Where do you thing you are going?"
"I need to go the Manager…. she will …ahh... let me go already", she whined like a little kid.
Takumi knew that she was suffering from a high fever and if he allowed her to go to her room she will be left all alone and heavens know what might happen to her.
"You will be staying here until you get well, no arguments" and he picked her up and pushed her back into the bed, Misaki tried to struggle but he was having none of it.
"Let me go you idiot, or else I'll start screaming". She threw a few punches at his chest as he was trying to tuck her inside the blankets, but he didn't even budge.
"Why do you have to be so difficult Misa?" "Trust me."
She flinches when he touches her,
and is afraid to get too close,
not because she's never trusted.
But at one point in time everyone she did let her down.
She stared at him as if he has grown two heads. Trust? A male? What a joke.
She was naïve before when she had trusted with all her heart but not anymore.
"Please just stay here." His voice was laced with pain and honesty and for a brief second she even dared to trust him. Before she could say anything, Takumi went out of the room leaving her confused and sick.
I
I wish I could say something that would make you trust me, but if you give me time I can prove it to you... Because if I had could have a chance, I would never need a second.
Her thoughts went back to last night when she had entered his room to talk about the love bite he had given her and automatically her hand flew to that particular spot on her neck. She could still feel the texture of that vindictive hickey.
She remember running out of his room after slapping him now that she thought about it , he never mentioned the slap or done something to hurt her back, a act which was very foreign to her, because in life the only thing she had knows is pain, hurt and revenge. She remember slumping into his arms after being so tired that she was unable to stand, and he has held her, and for that moment she felt safe, a feeling she didn't knew she was capable of feeling.
They wonder why she doesn't trust anyone anymore. Maybe they should think a little...it's all because all the people that she loved once that lied to her!
The swift click of the door brought her back from her reverie.
Takumi was holding a tray which had steaming hot porridge, and in response her stomach grumbled causing her to blush.
Takumi laughed lightly, "Well well somebody's quite hungry"
He sat next to her and took a spoonful and blew on it then brought it to her lips. She blushed a furious shade of red.
"I can eat on my own baka" , she tried to snatch the spoon from his hands but he only gave an annoyed look.
"No way! You may spill the food on my bed after all you are such a troublesome child", he shook his head as if scolding a 5 year old.
"What? How can you say that…" she immediately stopped talking as a spoonful of warm porridge was pushed inside her mouth.
"Good, isn't it?" Takumi gave a million dollar smirk which could melt the heart of any maiden. Her heart literary started beating fast.
What the hell was wrong with her?
She was shocked at how delicious a plain porridge could be.
"Who made this?" She enquired
"Obviously I did". He said bringing another spoonful to her mouth,
"You can cook?" Her eyes were the size of saucers as she took in the food.
"Why? Cant everybody?"
"I cant." Misaki said sheepishly.
Takumi was expressionless for a few seconds and burst out laughing.
"My my, why I am not surprised."
"Don't worry, your husband would love you even if you can't cook."
He said jokingly. Misaki hit him on the head and refused to take another bite from him. "Don't say meaningless stuff."
"How was it meaningless?" He asked innocently
"God you are annoying ,gaah…"She was beyond flustered.
Takumi finally managed to feed Misaki the full bowl of that mouth watering porridge and after playing a game of chess and meaningless bickering she finally dozed off again.
Takumi smiled at her sleeping body, she was one hell of a girl sometimes cold as a rock and sometimes soft as water.
He couldn't put a finger to the unnatural addiction to this specific girl, it was more than enjoying her company, she filled him with immense happiness. Just looking at her sleeping body can calm him down.
She mattered.
He had already informed the manager that Misaki was sick and he had ordered her to take a leave for today, of course the manager was annoyed that she didn't bother asking for her permission but what could she say to the owner of the house. A duke.
When he told Misaki that, she looked like she was going to kill him with her glares , but behind that anger he knew that her eyes seemed to say a polite thank you. Over the months he had come to know her so well, when her no meant a yes or vise versa, when she was lying to him or when the walls around her heart was back up.
She didn't trust him. He was sure of that. But he also knew that she trusted no one, he wondered what had made her that way, but pushed aside that thought, one day , he knew, one day she will tell him everything, until then he'll simply have to trust her.
He got up from his chair and tucked the blanket back in which had moved due to her constant movement. He kissed her forehead "Goodnight my love, sleep tight" smiling down at his angel.
A.N. - OK, calm down, calm dow
