Stefan watched her from her bed as she got up and moved to her drawer. He would protest and drag her back in bed but they've been spending some quality time in her bed for the past couple of days, so he's not going to stop her from wanting a break. She is still human after all. Besides, he was enjoying the view.
Bonnie smiled feeling his eyes on her back as she searched for her favorite black bra. She started to get hungry and finally decided to get up from bed to make her something to eat. They've been catching up on lost time and she found herself for the first time having nothing to complain about. It was odd. Thomas took her backing off well though she didn't exactly say that she was dating Stefan now, she mentioned that he has her mind confused and needed some time to think. She hoped that now a good amount of time has passed, he's moved on. She started to frown at the thought. Maybe she should call him just to make sure that he's not holding out hope. If it wouldn't be so weird she'd probably introduce him to Elena. Or not since Damon would kill him in point two seconds.
Sighing, she put on her bra then stepped into a pair of sweatpants before turning to face her man. His eyes lifted to her eyes telling her that he was staring at her ass. She chuckled, walking over to him then kissed him several times, closing her eyes at the feel of his hands traveling her body. "Are you ever gonna get out of bed?" She smiled against his lips.
"I guess I do owe you a date, huh?"
"Several, actually, but we'll start with one."
He chuckled then got out of bed before looking back after she slapped his ass. He shook his head as she laughed then got dressed. "Have you heard from Elena?"
"Not really. We've texted once. I asked if she's okay, she said yes. I would worry more but she's a vampire now so I'm not as worried as I would be if she wasn't. What about you?"
"Not at all, actually. I wasn't sure if it would be appropriate considering."
"Maybe that's exactly why you should reach out. Maybe she's feeling a little guilty about it and you both talking about it could help her heal." He watched her eyes. "What's going on?"
"Nothing,"
"Babe."
She sighed. "Okay, I wanted to talk to Thomas and just make sure we're on the same page. I want to tell him that I'm with you now."
He smiled, walking up to her. "You're my girl now, huh?"
"I don't know, am I?"
"Of course you are. If you want to be," he took her hand.
"I would love to be,"
They smiled at one another then closed their eyes as they kissed. He held her body close to his. "Will you officially be my girlfriend?"
She smiled widely. "Yes. Will you officially be my boyfriend?"
"Yes, I will."
She hugged him tightly and he hugged her back. She moved her head back to meet their lips several times.
…
Thomas exhaled, looking at the time on his phone. He was early. A little too early but he couldn't help it, he knew it would be bad news so he guesses he just wanted it to be over with faster. A part of him wished that Bonnie was the type of girl to tell him through a text but she's not and that's one of the reasons why he likes her.
Things were going so perfectly in his eyes but then they go to one stupid party and she sees Stefan who had recently turned on his emotions and that's when things got rocky. She was distant but he tried not to complain but thinks maybe he should have so her focus would shift back to him and not stay on Stefan.
He forced a smile as she sat in front of him and silently exhaled. "Hey,"
"Hey, how are you doing?"
"Uh, pretty good. You?"
"Good. I uh- I kind of wanted to meet up, to be honest with you, I guess, I mean completely honest with you."
"I think I already know and it's fine. I should've known to not get my hopes up after our first date. You were still hung up on him, I couldn't compete."
"I'm sorry. If things were different then we would definitely be together, no questions, but I fell in love before I met you, freely in love and it was hard to let it go."
He nodded. "I wish you both the best."
"Thanks," she watched him stand and walk away. Bonnie sighed but shortly got up herself as headed towards her car. "One more to go," she drove off.
Damon closed his eyes, relishing the feel of her. It all felt a little too good, better than it should, but it did. He opened his eyes now finding himself on his back and watched her ride him smoothly. He moved his hands to her thighs, grabbed her ass, then sat up to connect their lips as he played with her breasts. Her hands in his hair, smiling at his curse as she slowly rose and fell on his lap, looking into his eyes.
"Fuck, you are beautiful." He realized, a part of him terrified to actually allow himself notice.
Caroline smiles and meets their lips, bouncing a little quicker until they come. She falls into him and he holds her close to his body as she breathes. "This was a mistake."
"Why did it feel so good then?"
"I don't know."
He held her face to look at him before he met their lips, kissing her deeply. He moved so he's above her now, still inside her. "Let's make a deal."
"What kind of deal?"
"We keep at this, this stays between us, and when Elena gets back and more than likely dumps me-"
"She will forgive you, we both know it." She pushed on his chest and sat up once he moved off of her.
He frowned. "You're right. But I still need to see you."
"I can't. She's my best friend. We have to move on. You with Elena and me with whomever. Deal?" She looked over her shoulder at him.
He sighed. "Deal."
She nodded then stood, slipping on her dress. "I'll see you around, Damon." She walked out.
He laid on his back and ran his fingers through his hair hearing the front door close and shortly her car drive away. He jumped looking over, hearing knocks then came faced with his baby bro. "Fuck."
Bonnie smiled as the FaceTime connected and she was shortly faced with her brunette friend who is at a location unknown. "Hey,"
"Hey,"
"Thanks for accepting my call, I wasn't sure if you would. How are you doing out there?"
"I'm fine," she exhaled, "just thinking about a lot. Realizing that a lot of this shit is actually my fault and no one else's, so that's always a treat."
"What do you mean?"
"I shouldn't have chosen Damon. And I hate saying that to you because of your relationship with Stefan, but I should've followed my brain for once. I had everything with Stefan, Damon was a complete mystery which I liked for some reason and I just couldn't shake wanting to solve it. He was a risk I shouldn't have taken. Now, look at my life."
"So what are you trying to say?"
"I don't know, honestly. Maybe I should just cut my losses and start over."
"Dump Damon?"
"Maybe. I need more time. I just never in a million years thought that he would ever cheat on me. That's why I'm so fucking confused. I was gone for thirty minutes and he does that with Caroline of all people, a person whom I have to see practically every other day and when I look at her I can only think about her rolling around in bed with him. I don't think I can forgive her."
"Could you forgive Damon?"
"It's easier for me to because I didn't know him for half of my life. He wasn't there through some of the most tragic and happiest experiences of my life like she was. I trusted her more than I did him."
Bonnie thought. "Maybe you and Caroline need to talk things over. Avoiding it and her won't do anyone any good, especially you."
Elena sighed heavily. "Yeah. I'll take some more days then maybe we could meet up somewhere."
"I think that's great." She watched her nod. "Anyway I have to go, but I hope I gave you some ease,"
"You did, thanks."
She nodded.
"Wait, Bonnie, I- I'm sorry for sleeping with Stefan."
"It's okay,"
They shared a small smile before Elena ended the call.
Stefan walked into his brother's room then sat on the edge. "So um. You're in love with Caroline now?"
"Of course not."
"That's not how it sounded to me."
"Why are you even here, shouldn't you be locked up with Bonnie somewhere?"
"We both had some errands to run, I figured I come here and collect some more of my things and to my surprise, I hear you in here with Elena, but I hear you call out Caroline's name instead."
Damon rolled his eyes.
"I thought I had to be dreaming it or imagining it so I stuck around only to hear your conversation."
"You're going to tell Elena,"
"No, actually. None of this is truly my business therefore I'll be keeping myself out of it, now and forever, but I think that you, Damon have a lot of thinking to do. Maybe you should go away just like Elena and screw that head of yours back on tight." He stood then walked out leaving Damon lying there to think.
…
Bonnie smiled meeting their eyes and ran up to him for him to catch her in his arms before twirling her as their lips met roughly. "I missed you."
"I missed you more." He meets their lips again then speeds them inside, into her bedroom. He removes her top and meets their lips again, turning her to her back but to his surprise, he's on his back. He smiled and lifts his neck to kiss her again but her hand goes around his neck.
"Who are you and what have you done to my Stefan?"
He smiles. "What gave it away?"
"Everything. I knew from the moment I first looked into your eyes."
"And yet you still made out with me?"
"I needed to play along. Now you're in my territory."
He chuckled. "I fooled Damon, I thought out of everyone he would be the hardest. Although what I caught him doing more than likely shielded his mind."
Bonnie narrowed her eyes. "What do you mean?"
"You didn't hear it from me, but Damon and Miss. Caroline are having sex. Were having sex."
"You're lying."
"I swear. I could show you."
"What are you talking abo—" his hands on her head stopped her mid-sentence and she saw Caroline walking to her car before looking back with a certain sadness in her eyes then a naked Damon lying in bed on his back which she quickly moved her head back for. "I didn't need to see that."
"If I didn't show you, you would've found an argument to try to prove me wrong though you know I'm right."
"Who the fuck are you?"
He smiled. "My name is Silas. Nice to meet you, Bonnie."
"Silas. What do you want?"
"Easy. You."
"You're joking." She lifted her right eyebrow.
"Why would I be? You're the love of my life."
"Okay now I know you're joking, where's Stefan?" She stood.
"Stefan is fine."
"Where is he?"
"I don't know, why don't you call him."
"Really?"
"Baby," he held her face, "I'm not here to hurt you or anyone else. Unless they make me."
"Meaning what?"
"If they get in my way then I'll make sure they can't anymore."
"Wait, are you like- is Stefan your doppelgänger?" She sat back down in disbelief.
"Ding, ding, ding!"
"So that means that I'm—"
"The doppelgänger to the love of my life."
"What was her name?"
Silas smiles, looking into her eyes. "Bonnie."
"You're lying."
Silas smiled. "You look and act just like her, her name might as well be yours."
She watched his eyes. "I can't help you. I'm sorry, I'm with Stefan."
"Give me a chance, at least. I've waited so long." He watched her eyes soften. "I'm a witch and vampire, the first of my kind, it was how I landed you the first time. You tried your hardest to hate me but at the end of the day, you couldn't shake me. Our love was forbidden, separated by color, but we worked around it. That is until we were too careless and got caught by my father. He was going to kill you but I pleaded for you so he just sent you away. Far away. Now we're together again."
"Silas, I'm not her. I may look and act as she did, but I can never be her."
"I know. I just a hopeless romantic, I cannot help myself. I can give you her memories of us-"
"Silas-"
"What the fuck is going on here?"
The two turned and Stefan narrowed his eyes as he looked directly at himself only dressed differently. "Who are you?"
Silas stood, walking over to the other version of himself. "I've always wanted to know how I looked through someone's eyes."
"Who are you?"
"I'm Silas. I came back for my witch."
His right eyebrow lifted. "Excuse me?"
"Stefan, he- we're doppelgängers. I was- a version of me was his past lover."
"Wait, so you actually think you can just show up and take my girlfriend and I'll just let you both ride off into the sunset?"
"Of course not. I'm allowing Bonnie to choose who she wants. Once I am chosen as her desire, we'll be off."
"Or I could just kill you."
"I would think twice before even attempting such a foolish act. I am your suppressor after all." He turned to Bonnie. "I'll see you later, my love."
They blinked and he was gone.
"What the fuck,"
"I don't even- my head is-"
"You're not actually thinking about being with him,"
"Of course not," she held his face. "I just never imagined this being possible. I'm just a little weirded out."
"Did you kiss him?"
"I did. Only to make him believe I thought he was you, I wanted to trap him here. Nothing moved further than that."
He closed his eyes. "Okay."
"I love you, Stefan."
"I love you too." He kissed her. "I just got you back, I'm not losing you again."
"You won't. Not to him at least." She smiled as his eyes rolled. "I'm just saying if Jason Momoa were to waltz up in here and declare his love for me, I just might-"
"Shut it."
She laughed then jumped in his arms. "I'm kidding,"
"No, you're not."
"Halfway." She smiled.
He shook his head then carried her over to her bed to teach her a lesson or two. Or three.
…
Bonnie hummed softly to the music playing in her ears as she searched through the books on the shelf. She wasn't sure what she was looking for, but she needed a distraction from her life right now and reading about another's, rather fiction or not was the perfect distraction. She smiled feeling his arms hug her from behind and his lips on the side of her neck. He told her that he had a surprise for her later so she's hoping that he'd whisk her away and surprise her with a ticket out of here. "Is this my surprise?"
"I want to take you out on a date tonight. Make you happy,"
She smiled. "I would love that." She turned to move her arms around his neck but frowned. "You can't do that to me. If you genuinely love me, you can't trick me like that."
Silas frowns. "I'm sorry," he held her face. "I thought you could tell the difference,"
"I can but only when I look into your eyes. Although you're part witch, your essence is the same as Stefan's. Or his as yours."
"But may I still have my date?"
"I didn't agree to go out on a date with you, I agreed to go out on a date with Stefan."
"Please, my love."
"I can't."
"Why? Do you have a prior engagement?"
She couldn't stop her smile. "I do, actually."
"What's the reason behind your smile?"
"I just- I like the way you speak."
He smiled, watching her eyes. "Shall I speak this way more often, then?"
"Always, so I know it is you whom I am speaking to."
He chuckled. "Of course, my love."
"Um, I need to leave,"
"Tomorrow then."
"Maybe." She walked away.
Bonnie tried to shake the smile off her face but couldn't. She had a hard time believing that Silas already has a hold on her. It definitely helps that he looks like Stefan but everything else is different yet the exact same. It's like if Stefan truly did have an identical twin brother and they both were in love with her. She had to tell someone and since she's been avoiding Caroline after Silas told her of her and Damon, she figured now was as good a time as ever when she had something to talk about other than who her friend was sleeping with.
She's texted Stefan letting him know of her whereabouts before knocking on the door. She heard footsteps inch near, then a brief pause before the unlocking of the door and the twisting of the knob. "Hey," Caroline smiled then went in for the hug.
"Hey," Bonnie hugged her tightly back.
"Come in, it feels like it's been forever,"
"Yeah, sorry, I just have a lot of weird shit going on."
"Tell me about it,"
"You first?"
"No, go ahead."
"Okay, well, um, turns out Elena's not the only doppelgänger we know. Stefan and I are and apparently, our past selves were lovers."
"What?! How did you find out?"
"Well, Stefan's double named Silas turned up and declared his love for me. He looks at me like I'm my past self and is convinced that he's in love with me and he wants me to choose between him and Stefan."
"No fucking way."
"When I say it out loud it sounds like I'm lying and I wish I was. The sucky part about it is that I can't help but feel a little sad for Silas and that's messing with my judgment."
"So you're saying Silas actually has a chance?"
"I don't want him to but he makes me smile and when he tells me that he loves me or calls me his love, I feel that shit. It's like I'm whomever my past self was but then I have to remind myself and him that I'm not. I may look and act like her but I'm Bonnie. Only Bonnie."
"What was her name?"
"He won't tell me which drives me even more insane. He told me her name might as well be Bonnie and just proving my insanity slash mind-confusion I'm referring to her as my past self when in reality that's not what she is."
Caroline watched her think. "How about this," she sat up, gaining her friend's attention. "We give her a name, make one up right now, that was it'll be easiest for you to separate yourself from her."
"Okay, yeah."
"I'm thinking something along the lines of Matilda."
"Matilda? That's…"
"Exactly. Who wants to be associated with a Matilda?"
Bonnie chuckled, "Very true."
"There we have it then. The more you separate yourself from Matilda, the better off you'll be. Does Stefan know?"
"Thankfully yes. It's not something that I have to hide besides my possible feelings for Silas."
"Maybe you both should talk about it more. I'm not sure if you did or not but you still can. If the roles were reversed and Matilda came back to win Stefan over, you would want to know all that's happening."
"Yeah," Bonnie sighed. "So what's up with you?"
Caroline took a deep breath then let it out. She tried forcing everything out but found her lips unable to move an inch. Bonnie frowned watching tears fill her eyes so she moved in closer to her friend and hugged her. Bonnie wanted to tell her that she knew everything but wanted Caroline to admit it out loud herself.
"Damon-" she started. "We had sex again and this time it didn't feel like a mistake, it felt good, normal. When I told him it was over between us he tried to convince me to stay, for us to keep seeing each other behind everyone's back. A part of me wanted to say yes and I don't know why but I just walked away. He called me beautiful and he actually meant it."
"Wow," that wasn't what she was expecting at all. "It looks like I'm not the only one who needs to talk to a Salvatore," Bonnie pulled away to look her in the eyes. "How do you feel about Damon? Honestly,"
"I thought I hated him, honestly but us having sex changed things and I hate it because he's with Elena and will always in some way or shape or form be with Elena."
"But if he wasn't?" Bonnie countered.
"I don't know," she sighed. "Maybe I would give him a chance. I hate myself for saying that."
"Don't. There are too many feelings in the air, you were bound to get captured sooner or later."
She chuckled. "You know what, I say we invite the brothers over for dinner and we sit out our dirty laundry. We'd be each other's support system and if you don't want to talk about it publicly, I can place a hearing spell over you both so your conversation could remain private but I'll be there to hold your hand. Same with Stefan and me."
"I think that's a great idea. Especially since Elena isn't back yet, we or more-so I should solve my situation before she gets back."
"Have you talked to her?"
"No, I want to call but then I second guess myself. I wouldn't want to interrupt her thinking."
Bonnie nodded. "I'm gonna call Stefan, ask him to pass the message along." She walked over to the window, pressing his contact. "Hey, babe,"
"Hey, when will you be home?"
"Actually, I feel like we need to talk about a couple of things,"
"Okay…"
"And Caroline needs to also talk about a couple of things also but with Damon,"
"O...kay,"
"So could you invite him over to Caroline's house with you and us four have dinner or something together so we can talk?"
"Why can't we just talk in private?"
"Because we need each other's support."
"Are you breaking up with me?"
"No. Just come over with your brother in an hour and a half. Please."
He sighed. "Okay, I guess."
"Thank you, I love you."
"I love you too."
Bonnie ended the call then went to tell Caroline.
Bonnie opened the door with a smile and welcomed the brother's inside. Stefan wrapped her in his arms and met their lips, kissing her passionately, grabbing her ass in the process. "I missed you." He met their foreheads.
"I missed you too." She kissed him again, moving her arms around his neck.
"Let's go home," he pulled her closer into his body.
She chuckled. "Later, we made dinner." She took his hand leading them over to the kitchen but stopped seeing Damon and Caroline talking closely. She backed away, taking her man with her.
"So that's what this is about?"
Bonnie nodded. "And I need to talk to you about Silas."
He folded his arms under his chest. "What about him?"
"He met me today and asked me out on a date which I declined but a part of me wants to go."
"Why?"
"Because I feel bad for him. He's like a lost puppy so it's hard to ignore."
"Bonnie—"
"I know, I'm sorry. I just want to hear his story, that's it."
"Fine then I need to be there too."
"Okay,"
"Okay, good."
"I know if the roles were reversed I would hate this with every ounce of my being and threaten to rip your dick off," he chuckled, "so thank you. I know how hard this is. I love you so much, baby,"
"I love you more." He kissed her. "I still have my surprise for you later,"
She bit her lower lip as he lifted her thighs around his hips. "Can't wait." She moved her head in to connect their lips then opened her mouth to his. They pulled away hearing a throat clearing and Bonnie returned her feet to the ground and lead Stefan to his seat across from her. Damon sat next to his brother, across from Caroline who shortly asked for Bonnie's help in the kitchen.
"I don't mean to sound like a bitch," Caroline started, "but you two making out like that is kind of difficult for Damon and I to move past the sexual tension between us."
"You're right, I'm sorry, it's just I wanted Stefan to know that I still love him and if I refused he would be brooding and suspicious."
"Right,"
"But it's out of our systems, for now, promise."
Caroline nodded then the two grabbed dishes from the stove and carried them to the table.
Stefan turned to his brother as the two walked into the kitchen. "I never thought I'd say this but I wish I was in your position right now,"
"Why?"
"Bonnie wants to meet Silas. She called him a lost puppy but I know it's all just an act. I'm going to be dumped for a guy who looks exactly like me. What the fuck."
"Bonnie won't dump you,"
"I can feel her slipping away, she doesn't kiss me the same. It's like she's forcing it."
Damon frowned but wiped it away as the two came back with dishes in their hands. He watched them be placed on the table then looked up to a pair of blue eyes that turned away. Stefan looked up feeling Bonnie's hand on his knee as smiled slightly as she did so.
"Stef, I want you to tell me how you really feel."
He narrowed his eyes. "About what?"
"Silas,"
He let out a breath. "I hate him because he actually has a chance to steal you away from me. The guy shows up out of nowhere and he already has your heart."
"He doesn't have my heart,"
"The moment you meet up with him he will because that's who you are."
She narrowed her eyes. "What's that supposed to mean?"
"I just mean that you have an empathetic heart, okay, you feed off the emotions that are aimed at you."
"Doesn't everyone?"
"No, actually. And that's fine, but still. He keeps sweet talking to you, you'll kiss him. Maybe even fuck him."
"Is that really what you think of me? That I'll cheat on you just like that?"
"You'll regret it but it could happen and I'm not saying it's going to happen right away but you can't deny it won't happen."
"I can and do."
"We'll see."
"Wow. I'm not Elena."
"I never said you were but you're a woman placed in the same position, an even more difficult one since we share the same face."
"I'm not attracted to you simply because of your face, Stefan."
"I don't know much about him, nor do I care to, honestly but I'm sure he's better than me. I don't think he killed an entire town without thinking twice about it."
"But that's not you anymore–"
"How would you know that?! Do you even ask how I'm doing?" He chuckled annoyingly, "Fuck, everyone thinks it's so easy to forget and I have this shit to deal with and you expect me to actually be OK?"
Her face softened. "Stef,"
"Whatever, Bonnie. Go on your fucking date with him, I don't care. Just don't expect me to come to your rescue when he reveals his true self to you." He watched her eyes. "I'm leaving." He stood, heading toward the door.
"Stefan, wait," Bonnie rushes after him.
Two sets of blue eyes locked. "I don't really know what I was expecting but it wasn't that," Caroline sighed.
"I knew it would blow up, that's just how my brother is. It'll be fine though."
"You really think so?"
"You don't?"
"I don't know, Stefan made some valid points. I just heard about this Silas and she told me that he makes her smile and I know that seems like nothing but it's something. It could happen and then they'll turn out to be—"
"Like us?"
"Yeah," she took a deep breath then let it out, "like us."
"So what's your question for me?"
"What do you mean?"
"Bonnie asked about Stefan's feelings toward Silas, what's your big question for me?"
"Would you leave Elena for me?"
"Would you?"
"You can't answer a question with a question,"
"I just feel like it's different between friends. Elena could forgive me because I'm not the one who's known her since elementary school or whenever you two met. I feel like she'd take a bigger hit out of you than for me."
"So you won't."
"I'm not saying that. I'm saying would you be willing for your life to possibly come tumbling down just because you like me?"
"What makes you think my life is doomed if I'm with you?"
"It's happened with everyone else. They're either dead or broken." He looked away from her eyes.
Caroline exhaled. "I have another question for you,"
"What?"
"Do you really think I'm beautiful?"
He smiled. "Of course. You're too good for me, Blondie. A lot of people are, but you most of all.
"I'm not as perfect as you may think."
"But you actually give a shit and to me, that speaks more than being so-called perfect."
She smiled. "Damon,"
"I know."
…
Bonnie watched his face as they laid side by side on his bed together. She was glad that he actually stopped and allowed her to go with him, she wasn't sure where he was going but she got in the car to go with him. A part of her a little off edge since she just abandoned Caroline like that but she hopes her friend understands and had the courage to confront her own problems with Damon.
She moved her hand to the side of his face and frowned when he moved his head away. "Babe-"
"I'm not in the mood right now."
"I just want to be here for you, that's it. I love you."
"I love you too, but—"
"Stop, don't." She moved in closer to him, snuggling against him.
He let out a breath, moving his arm around her as his eyes closed.
"How are you, really?"
He opened his eyes. "Do you really care?"
"Of course I do." She looked up at him with watery eyes. "My heart breaks that you even have to question."
"You've never asked me before."
"You're right and I'm sorry. It's so easy to get caught up in your own shit that you forget about the feelings of those who mean the most to you. I care, I swear I do, and if you need help, I'll be there for you."
"I need help." Tears ran down his eyes.
She hugged him immediately. "Okay, it's okay," she kissed the top of his head, squeezing his body close to hers and even tighter once his arms moved around her.
