Caroline and Elena exchanged worried looks before returning their eyes back to the scene. Bonnie had his body laid out on her bed surrounded by crystals and candles as she looked through her grimoire for a spell to bring him back. They were both shocked when Bonnie called telling them that Stefan had killed Silas and she needed their support in bringing them back. Elena immediately told Damon and he went to look for him as she headed over to her best friend's house. She knew that Caroline would be there and hopes that her presence wouldn't take over her mind, but when she stepped into the room, the only thing that she could focus on was the scene before her.

She's never seen Bonnie like this before and a part of it scares her. She's pretty certain that no witch created a spell to bring back a vampire but wouldn't say it aloud, instead, she just stood there for support just as Bonnie had asked.

"We were going to run away together," Bonnie softly spoke. "He planned the perfect day for me, he bought me this dress, he took me dancing and actually danced with me. He made me laugh and smile so much. We had a picnic then went to get ice cream and he asked me to leave town with him and before he could even finish the rest, I told him yes. I wanted to be with him so bad. No boyfriend has ever cared about me like he did and we didn't even know each other for that long. He promised me the world and I knew he meant it. Then Stefan killed him. He wanted to hurt me and he did. More than he could possibly know." She closed the book. "I can't bring him back, I've always known."

"I'm so sorry, Bonnie, I saw how much he meant to you," Caroline sympathized.

They watched as she wrapped him in the white sheet he was lying on top of and secured it with string. She closed her eyes and said a spell and they found themselves alone in an open field. They raised their eyes seeing his body float before it was set on fire. Bonnie captures his ashes then spoke another spell, turning his ashes into a diamond. She smiled and held it close to her heart before breaking down in tears. Her friends rushed up to her and hugged her in comfort.

Damon banged on his brother's door multiple times and just as he was about to break it down, the door opened and out walked three women holding their heels by the straps. He narrowed his eyes then stepped inside and headed upstairs then paused outside his bedroom door seeing him standing with his back toward him looking into a full-length mirror.

Damon narrowed his eyes. "What are you doing?"

"Bonnie has got a mean punch, doesn't she?" He turned revealing his bruises on his chest. "To what do I owe this pleasure, Damon?"

"Fuck. How many times are you going to flip your switch this time?"

"You know, Bonnie told me to leave town and not gonna lie, I was, I was packing my shit and then I realized that she's not the boss of me. I'm not going to run away with my dick between my legs for something I didn't do."

"So you're saying you didn't kill Silas,"

"I didn't kill the motherfucker. I wish I did now though since everyone is accusing me of it anyway. That would've been satisfying I'm sure but someone beat me to it. Can't say I blame them."

"So your solution is to stick around and torture Bonnie causing her to further hate and despise you ruining any chance you have of ever getting her back."

"Bonnie and I were never right for each other. All we did was argue and accuse, I don't need that in my life anymore. The only thing I'll miss about her is her pussy, and who knows, maybe I'll fuck her again when she shows up here pissed at me and our arguing will turn into something more, but for now, I'm moving on. Just as she did."

"You're not even going to try to prove your innocence?"

"I can show Bonnie video footage of me feeling sorry for myself on my bed the same exact time as Silas was killed and she'd accuse me of faking the timestamps. Nothing I do will cause her to believe I'm innocent so fuck it, I killed Silas and it was electric." He smiled.

Damon sighed.

Bonnie woke up in his bed and tears filled her eyes still being able to smell him. She closed her eyes, hugging his pillow, and let out several deep breaths before getting up. It's been a week since his murder and she still couldn't believe that he was actually gone but knew that she had to. He's gone, dead, and she knew that he wouldn't want her crying herself to sleep every night because of it but taking on the world that he promised her. She got up from the bed and decided to shower and got dressed in one of his shirts that she tucked into her jeans. She decided to go out for a walk and was enjoying her day until she didn't because there he was, looking down at his phone like nothing had happened and her anger spiked. She froze time for everyone around except for him then lifted him with her powers causing him to look around in a panic before realizing what was happening.

"Fuck," he cursed before she threw him down into an alley.

He groaned getting up but she pushed him back down and kicked his side causing him to roll on his back.

"Bonnie-"

"I told you to leave."

"You're not the boss of me," he shouted feeling the bones break in his right hand and he grabbed his wrist as it snapped backward. "Fuck!"

"Is this the game you want to play, Stefan? Cause I can go all day and would happily."

"What do you want from me? A confession?"

"I want you to leave and never come back."

"I'm not going to do that. This is my home."

"Ha! This is my fucking home, Stefan. You're just trespassing."

He breathed deeply then snapped his bones back to place. "I killed him, okay. I killed Silas because if I can't have you, I didn't want him to."

She resumed time. "Prove it."

"Prove what?"

"That you killed him, where were we?"

He chuckled then slowly stood to his feet. "So what now all of a sudden you think I'm innocent? You didn't seem to need any proof of it last week."

"Prove it."

"No."

"Prove it!"

"I'll see you around," he walked past her.

"Prove it, you bastard!" Her lip quivered and she starts to cry as he continues to walk away.

Stefan speeds off to distance himself away from her cries and heads home. He sits on his couch and thinks this through. Maybe he should turn it on. Again. This time to help Bonnie in finding who truly killed Silas. She knows it wasn't him, he has no proof, he doesn't even know how he was killed so maybe he should help her to gain closure. He loves her, no matter how many times he tries to deny it, no matter how many times she claims to hate him, he loves everything about her, and hearing her in so much pain brings him pain. So technically he's doing this for himself. So he could forget the pain once Bonnie's erased. He closed his eyes turning on his emotions and in a flash he's overridden with sadness and instead of masking it, he lets it out. The sooner he mourns, the sooner he could get started.

Bonnie made the diamond into a charm for a necklace and held it in between her fingers, smiling as it bounced light all over her room. She was tired of crying and mourning so she was happy that she actually smiled a real smile. "I love you, Silas."

She sat up hearing a car door closing and walked over to her window to see who it was before growling, heading downstairs. She opened the door before tackling him to the ground, moving her hand around his neck, using her powers to squeeze it tightly.

"Bonnie," he struggled.

"What?"

"Please stop," his eyelids drooped.

She continues for a moment infer before releasing her hold on him and he starts to cough and rolled onto his side. Bonnie stands watching him breathe heavily, struggling to stand. "If I have to tell you to leave one more time,"

"I'm leaving, I swear. You can check my car for my bags if you want. I just-" he caught his breath. "I just came to say goodbye."

"What makes you think that I wanted a goodbye?"

He looks away not being able to endure the hatred in her eyes. "I just- I'm going to find out who killed Silas. I know I said I did it, but you and I both know that's not true. But I'm going to find out who did."

"Why?"

"Because I know you'll never heal until you know. And selfishly because maybe you'll hate me less."

"Not possible."

He held back his tears. "Okay. Um, I'm just gonna leave now."

"I think that's a good idea."

He forced his eyes back to hers. "I love you. And I hate myself every fucking day. I'm so sorry, Bonnie. A part of me wishes that I just let you go the first time,"

"Me too. If you would've stayed away, I wouldn't be crying myself to sleep every night."

He wiped away his tears. "I'll make this right for you, I swear. Then you'll truly never see me again."

"Good."

He walked away and got into his car and hurried off. He pulled over to the side of the road after he turned the corner and let out the rest of his tears before starting his mission.

Three Months Later

Bonnie smiled turning the closed sign to open in her new witch shop. She sold journals and sexy role play costumes, crystal balls, crystals, spell books, jewelry, and more. She figured that she'd channel her energy into something more on the positive side and on the bright side of that? She's making money while doing so.

She looked up hearing the bell ring as the door opened and smiled seeing Caroline walkthrough. "Hey,"

"Hey, just thought I'd drop by before people crowd in here."

"No, I haven't heard from Stefan." She said counting the money in the register.

"I wasn't going to ask that," she walked up to her, "but aren't you the least bit worried that no one has heard from him in three months?"

"Not at all."

"Bonnie," Caroline stopped her hands from counting. "He didn't kill Silas, why are you so angry at him?"

"Because he treated me like I was nothing, okay?"

"That's not true,"

"He dumped me three times for no reason– well I dumped him once for leaving me on the side of the road, I stupidly forgive him because he turned it on, but guess what regular Stefan broke up with me because I wanted to help him gain his control back when it came to feeding. I worried about him and the town so I check up on him, he pushes me away wanting nothing to do with me, slammed the door in my face so I go to Silas. He didn't treat my heart like it was a dodgeball even after I'd turned him down multiple times. Guess who shows up on our date Stefan saying that he wanted me back. And me trying not to jump back in it I ask to see them both and they agree and it was nice. I spent most of my time with Stefan because Silas had gone out of town for a week but when he got back, we spent half a day together then I went right back to Stefan and you know what happened the next morning? He breaks up with me. If he truly cared about me, that would've never happened. If he didn't treat me like I was nothing, none of this would've happened and Silas quite possibly wouldn't be dead right now so I know Stefan didn't rip his heart out but he might as well have along with mine."

"I'm sorry, Bonnie. You're right, Stefan was dealing with a lot of issues and he didn't treat you fairly at all. I really wish things were different."

"Me too. I wish Silas came into my life sooner."

Caroline frowned then turned and smiled at the woman who walked in before turning back to her friend. "I'll see you later, okay?"

Bonnie nodded and sniffed in before resuming counting again.

Stefan let out a breath stopped at a light. For three months he's been burying himself in books to gain more knowledge on Silas to hopefully narrow down the list of suspects or better yet gain a list of suspects. Turns out that Silas was born into a poor family and after the passing of his mother, his father married into royalty. He was thrown into a foreign world, had to learn proper etiquette and more about the country, go to school for a proper education. He had a younger sister so he wasn't in it alone but being a sibling himself, he knows that there were moments in time when all he had felt was alone. There's nothing about his version of Bonnie which he expected but hoped that he would have gained at least a snippet of knowledge or at the very least her name. Silas went on to marry a woman named Hidie and together they had three children.

He looks into the children figuring that at some point in time Silas had to turn so maybe he turned his children but only came up with news reports of their deaths. He then looked into the wife and found no record of her death. It's always the wife. The wife is the first person a detective investigates when her husband is murdered. The only issue now is where could she be. If she is the killer, he knows she had to stop in Mystic Falls, but since that's the last place he wants to go right now, he's going to go to New Orleans. That's where the two had wed and started their life together, that's where he could hopefully gain more intel since the place is just crawling with supernatural beings.

As he's pulling into the hotel's parking lot, he gets a call from Damon and as always he ignores it and as always he leaves him a voicemail.

"I know you're listening to these so you mind as well pick up. Anyway, I want to help you, brother. Mainly because I can't stand this fucking place anymore. Things with Elena have been over for two months now thanks to Bonnie and Caroline is ignoring me now too so. Don't make me have to sniff you out. I won't tell the girl squad where you are either, the last thing either of us wants is for them to join us so. Call me back or text me your location or something. Let's kill this son of a bitch and go back into hiding."

Stefan let out a breath and got out of his car and took out his bags. He checked in and tossed his bags on one of the twin beds before laying on the other. He moved to his side, pulling out his phone, and clicked on his photos before scrolling, stopping when a photo of Bonnie and himself entered the grid. He pressed it and it filled the entire screen and he smiled, zooming into her face. He hopes that maybe she's not so mad at him anymore, maybe she changed her mind and is willing to forgive him, maybe a part of her still loves him. Maybe she'll give him just one more chance because one is all he'll ever need because he's not going to lose her this time. He's learned from his mistakes, his terrible, stupid mistakes and he's not going to make them again. He'll beg her continuously for a decade if he has to. He at least needs her to not hate him as much as she did the day he left. He wanted to be able to look into her eyes and not see so much pain. He just wanted her to be okay.

Stefan closed his eyes and imagines she's there in front of him as he spoons her. Her body a perfect fit in his, unlike any other. Her warm skin shaking his bones as he listens to her breathing.

Damon tosses his phone to the side and lets out a grunt before heading into the kitchen. He drinks a blood bag before pouring himself a bourbon and sinks into the leather chair. He's never been so bored in his life. He thinks about just going out to search for Stefan but decided to make a little pit stop first at a certain witch store.

He was surprised to find out that Witchy Almighty had opened up a place of business after running his brother out of town as if nothing had happened. He would admit that it was a great distraction from her tumbling down life but knew that she knew this store would always symbolize that. Disaster.

He watched a lady's ass as she walked out of the store and faced forward again as he stepped inside. He looked to the left and to the right, scoping out the place, and goes to take a step forward but realizes that he's stuck. "I come in peace."

"What do you want, Damon?" She steps out of the back office.

"I just wanted to see how you were doing. I can't even remember the last time I've seen you."

"Not exactly my problem,"

"Never said it was."

"What do you want?"

"Because of you, I haven't heard from my brother in three months so I'm going to need a favor."

"He's still alive."

"How do you know that?"

"Because I can feel him." She exhaled. "We shared each other's blood, I can feel him."

"Can you tell me where he is?"

"No. I mean I can but I'm not going to."

"Why not?"

"Because it's his own fault that he's in the position that he's in so he needs to get out of it by himself. He's not twelve anymore, Damon. You don't need to be his knight and shining armor all the time. Let him figure it out."

He watched her eyes. "You know who killed Silas,"

"I got the security tape that was outside the building. I know who it was. I just wished that they killed me too."

"You seriously mean that? You've known the guy for five seconds,"

"And yet he treated me better than Stefan ever has. Stefan only cares about himself, Silas actually cared for me. I should've just chose him from the beginning then I could've gone on that trip with him and maybe none of this would've happened."

"What trip?" He narrowed his eyes.

"Goodbye, Damon. You're not welcomed here, the only way for you is out the door."

He narrowed his eyes watching her walk back into the room but decided to leave to give his baby bro another call. "Stefan, I have some entail. Call me."

Stefan opened his eyes then pushed back on the bed seeing his brother standing above him. "What the fuck,"

"It's borderline creepy how often you whisper Bonnie's name in your sleep."

"What are you doing here?" He sat up, covering his face with his hands.

"As I've told you, I'm here to help you and I have some info that could possibly help solve your case."

"And how could you possibly have info?"

"Because I talked to Bonnie." He watched his brother's head lift until their eyes locked.

"How's uh- how's she doing?" He cleared his throat.

"She owns and runs this witch shop now like the last thing we need in that town is more Bonnie Bennett's."

"She still hates me, doesn't she?"

Damon sighed and sat down. "Yes. But, I think you have another chance up in there." He watched a small smile form on his brother's face then watched him nod.

"I um, I think I know who killed Silas,"

"Lay it on me."

"His wife Hidie. I'm sure at some point she became aware of Bonnie point one and was jealous. I don't know why she would wait so long to kill him, but maybe she needed him alive back then for some reason."

"Hm." Damon thought. "Bonnie let it slip that Silas had gone on a trip so maybe he poked the bear? Women can tolerate a lot of shit but maybe he told her about Bonnie and that was the final straw."

He nodded. "I was looking and couldn't find her death certificate so I'm presuming she turned. This is where she's from so I figured we ask around and hopefully gain some facts and not so much speculation."

"Do you know how this Hidie chick looks like?"

"Yeah," he stood and walked over to his bags, reaching in one of them before pulling out a piece of paper. "I printed this out at the library," he made his way back to his brother and handed him the print.

"She's gorgeous. Why does she look familiar?"

"I think she looks a bit like Caroline." He watched his brother stare at the photo more. "You said she stopped talking to you, what happened?"

"Bonnie happened. She has a no Salvatore mention rule or whatever and of course she wants to be there for her friend more so she avoids me at all costs. I also feel like Elena is part of it too. I don't even know why she took me back in the first place. When she told me she wanted us to try again, I have never been so shocked. I was certain that she would leave my ass, but she didn't and being together like that only pushed us further apart. She was still pissed at me and I would try to make things right but it would only make her angry somehow. I was so confused and relieved the day she broke things off between us."

Stefan exhaled. "I'm sorry, man."

"It's what I get, honestly." He stood, "Anyway, get dressed, we have work to do."

Bonnie places her "be back in fifteen" sign on her door before locking it and heading to the back. She opened her office door and walked inside, taking a deep breath before pushing the bookcase to the right and opened that door. She walked up and removed that gag from their mouth.

"Bonnie, please just kill me already."

"Not yet. And you know why."

"Fuck, Stefan. He's the one I wanted to kill anyway."

"Well, you didn't. You wouldn't be here if you did."

"I'm sure that I would've been dead already."

"Yeah because it wouldn't have taken Silas this long to figure it out."

"Or Damon, or Caroline, or Elena. More people would be looking, not just him."

"So you're defending Stefan right now? Really?"

They sighed then watched her walk out before returning with a blood bag.

"Oh and good news for you, I figured out a spell to soundproof this space so I'll take away the gag." She fed them a few drops of blood.

They watched her spell the place before walking out. Suddenly the door closed and they heard this chamber-like noise and the silence and darkness overflowed them.

It didn't take the brothers long to find Hidie, only thanks to Stefan acting to be Silas as one of Silas' vampire buddies spotted them in a bar. He pointed them to the right location, then said something that made Stefan's skin crawl. "Twice in the span of a few months, how long will you be staying with her this time?" If the bastard was cheating on Bonnie, although he wanted to, he wouldn't tell. That'll only make her hate him more and cause her more pain realizing that Silas wasn't who he said he was.

"Maybe you should go back to the hotel while I talk to her."

"Plan to smash?"

"I'm just not sure if she's comfortable to even let us in. If it's just me, I doubt it'll be a problem."

He sighed. "Fine. Just call me when you're done."

Stefan nodded then walked up the path leading to her palace. He took a deep breath then knocked several times. He started a debate within himself on whether he should act like Silas or not. What if he did and she could see through his act just as Bonnie could? What if he did and rips his heart out? He was ready to turn away when the door opened and an old woman smiled so he decided to smile back. "Come on in," she opened the door wider for him so he walked inside, taking the place in. "She's upstairs,"

He nodded at the lady then made his way up the staircase, peering into rooms before he came across one seeing a blonde woman reading on her bed. He tried to move his feet or even his mouth but found himself somewhat paralyzed. He had absolutely no plan.

"Are you going to stare at me all day or will you join me?" She asked, still keeping her eyes on the pages.

Stefan stood tall then walked inside, closing the door behind him. He watched her finish reading the page before she bookmarked it and set it aside. "Let me guess, you've lost the— girl." She met his eyes. "Stefan?"

"You know who I am?"

"Of course. Silas has talked about the last time he visited."

"So you know about Bonnie?"

She watched him for a few moments. He seemed a bit distressed and confused. If he came all this way to find her to ask about Bonnie that could only mean, "Silas has succeeded in taking Bonnie from you and you heard about his trip here and once you find out about me, you assumed that we're sleeping together. Is that it?"

"Part of it."

"We're not. I know if that were true, little Bonnie would run back into your arms and I can tell that you care a lot about her so a part of me is sorry."

It was his turn to watch her. She was surely the most confident between the two, the way she sat, the way she looked at him, the look on her face, unbothered and beautiful. She doesn't know and he's not sure if he wants to be the one to pass on that news. He should leave. She didn't kill Silas, he knows that now so he should leave.

"What was the other part?"

"Huh?"

"You said that part of the reason why you came here was to figure out about Silas and me, what was the other part?"

He let out a breath. He had to be the one. "Silas is dead. I came here to see if you had killed him. I know you didn't." He watched her face no longer looking unbothered but only for a second before it changed back again.

"How did he die?"

"He was out on a date with Bonnie when someone came behind him and ripped his heart out. Everyone blamed me with good reason, but no matter how much I hated him, I would never do that to Bonnie. However, she basically banished me from town so I want to figure out who killed him for her."

"And you believe that once you do, she'd jump right into your arms and take you back. You're doing this for you too."

"Maybe I am."

Hidie sighed then stood, walking to stand in front of him. "I can assure you, Stefan, that Silas didn't have enemies." She held his face.

He watched her eyes for a few moments before asking, "You know about Bonnie, did you know about the woman Silas was really in love with?"

She smiled. "You mean Desurijah?"

"I never knew her name."

She stood on her toes, kissing his lips softly, moving her hands up his chest. He kisses her back before he even realizes what he's doing and moves his head back. "Follow me," she smiled and took his hand and led her out of the door. He tried to stop his eyes from watching her body especially once he noticed her dress was practically the length of a shirt. The kiss caught him off-guard and now his brain is everywhere.

Hidie stopped in front of a door then turned to him. "Since Silas is dead I should tell you something and you should choose to do with this information whatever you want with it."

He narrowed his eyes at her then looked into the room as she opened the door fully and almost dropped to his knees.
