''What happened?' Harry wondered, when he observed how one of the Aurors snapped what seemed to be a wand into two equal pieces.
"Molly Weasley, you will never be allowed to carry a wand again," the judge informed the redheaded woman, whose sobbing only intensified. "You will still be allowed to live in the magical world; however, you must not take any official position. If your husband will allow you to remain a member of the Weasley family is up to him. Your children are all old enough to decide if they wish you to be their guardian or if they wish for your husband to take the position. I ask Lord Black as the head of the Wizengamot to speak with each of the Weasley children who are not of age yet."
"Your honours," Sirius spoke up, "as you know, I have just been released from Azkaban. I believe that either Amelia Bones or my cousin, Andromeda Black-Tonks, are much more adequate for this task than me."
"Madam Bones?"
"I shall deal with this. Thank you, Sirius. I believe that this was the right decision." She cast the new head of the Wizengamot a warm smile.
"Thank you, Madam Bones." The judge nodded in apparent contentedness.
A moment later, the trial was over, and Sirius swiftly ended the Wizengamot meeting as well, promising to send out invitations for the next meeting during the month.

"I am sorry," Andromeda whispered, turning to Mr. Weasley.
"She brought it onto herself." Mr. Weasley seemed surprisingly calm about the matter.
Harry looked up, smiling, when Amelia and Sirius joined them together.
"Sirius, did I hear that correctly? Andromeda Black-Tonks?" Andromeda sounded extremely excited. "You remember that my parents cast me out of the family, don't you?"
Sirius smirked. "As you know, I have taken up the lordship. Fortunately, Harry and his owl," his eyes widened as he looked at Hedwig, "seemed to have discussed everything in advance with Buckbean, the Potters' account manager. They even asked him to take over as the account manager for the Black family, and he reminded me to add you back into the family as my first task as Lord Black. You, your husband and your daughter are all members of the Black family again."
Andromeda fiercely hugged her cousin, tears leaking from her eyes. "Thank you so much. That means a lot to me."
"You're welcome, cousin."
"Well done, Sirius." Amelia cast him a broad smile.
"Thanks. Arthur," Sirius turned to the redhead. "First of all, I am sorry for what happened here."
Arthur shook his head. "There is nothing for you or anyone else to be sorry for. It is all my wife's fault. The only question is where I am going to go now, as I'll have to leave the Burrow to her and the children."
"We'll see about the children." Amelia's mouth stretched to a thin line. "I believe that you're much more adequate to raise them, but I will speak with them and ask each of them later today."
"If I may suggest something. Ted, Nymphadora and I…"
"Mum!"
"As I was saying, the Black-Tonks are living in a house, which is much too big for us. The house is made in a way that easily allows a separation between the first and the second floor. You are very welcome to live in the second floor together with your children."
Arthur smiled, but the smile did not reach his eyes.
"That is a very generous offer, but I can't accept it."
"You can and you must." Amelia gave Arthur a sharp look. "That's what friends are for." Turning to Harry and Tonks, she said, "Andromeda, Arthur, Ted and I attended Hogwarts together, and we have been best friends since the Sorting."
'Cool,' Harry thought in amazement. 'Maybe I'll also find friends for life at Hogwarts.'
"Will Ted approve though?"
"Of course." Turning to her cousin, she asked, "Sirius, what are you going to do now?"
#Harry, please ask Amelia to cast a silencing charm around us. Afterwards, you can tell them all about me and where we are living. I trust each of them. Tell Sirius that I have been given permission to bring him home with us. As your godfather, he is family.#
Seeing that everyone stared at his phoenix, questioningly, Harry let out a small chuckle. "Madam Bones, would you please cast a silencing charm around us?"
The witch cast him a surprised look, however, complied. "My phoenix was my mother in her former life…"
"Lily?" Amelia's expression mirrored everyone's emotions.
Hedwig nodded.
"Her name is Hedwig now. Anyway…" Harry explained about Santa and the white animals, only to inform Sirius of Santa's invitation.
Hedwig nodded, apparently noticing that everyone wanted their confirmation that what Harry told them was true.
Amelia pulled Sirius into a light hug. "Sirius, go with them and take some time to recover. You know where to find me, and if you wish to take your position as an Auror back, you're very welcome to do so."
"Have you not moved on in the meantime?"
"No." She let out a deep sigh. "I can't say that we can simply continue like it was ten years ago, but we can see if we'll be able to resume our former relationship. I've waited for ten years; I can wait a few months longer."
"Thanks." Sirius nodded in determination, before turning to Harry. "Shall we go then, Pup? Lead the way."

Thirty minutes later, Harry and Sirius were walking towards Buckingham Palace with Paws following on their heels. As Hedwig did not have enough experience flashing people to take two wizards and a puppy with her, one adult wizard at that, they decided to use the portal.
"Look, how many people here are. Won't they notice us?"
#As soon as you see the portal, you'll have a notice-me-not charm on you, so no one will see you enter the garden and step through the portal. Harry, please translate.#
It almost felt like coming home to Harry, when they arrived at the snowy landscape of the North Pole.
"Did our clothes change automatically?" Sirius looked around in apparent amazement, just when Paws' brother and sister puppies came running to greet them.
"Harry, please excuse me for a moment." Harry stared at his godfather in shock, when the older wizard suddenly transformed into a black dog and was immediately being pulled into a mock fight by the puppies.
"Mum, why can Sirius change into a dog?" he asked, only to look at the ground in front of himself, ashamed that he did not even consider asking before he voiced his question.
#Harry, son, it's all right to ask questions. I am your mother, and I love you very much, and it's time that you forget everything that Petunia and her horrible husband have told you.#
Harry slowly relaxed at his familiar's soothing voice, when she continued. #Sirius is what is called an Animagus. He is able to change into a dog and back. When you're older, you can also try to become an Animagus.#
Harry's eyes widened in excitement. "How do I do that? I want to become a puppy like Paws and his siblings, so I'll be able to play with them and to talk with Alicia."
Hedwig remained quiet for a moment, as Harry observed Sirius play with the puppies, before she continued. #As your magic seems to be quite strong, you might be able to become an Animagus at an early time. You must exactly know what animal you wish to become, envision it and try to change your left hand into the paw, wing or whatever your animal has instead. That's the hardest part. If you manage to change your left hand, the rest is fairly easy. Please ask Sirius or Santa to teach you, as they'll be better able to help you than I am in this phoenix form.#
"Mum," Harry glanced at the phoenix on his shoulder, "have you been an Animagus?"
#I was a doe, and your father was a stag.#
"A stag?" Harry's eyes widened in surprise. "Oh well, he'd probably get along well with the reindeer then."
"What?" Sirius transformed back, hearing Harry and Hedwig chuckle.
"Sirius, please teach me how to become an Animagus. I want to be a dog like you and the puppies."
"Of course, Pup." Sirius fondly ruffled Harry's hair.
#Let's go inside and introduce Sirius to Santa and Claire.#

While the puppies introduced Sirius to the North Pole, Amelia Bones and Arthur Weasley headed to the Burrow. As soon as they stepped out of the fireplace, loud shouting penetrated their ears. Molly Weasley, Albus Dumbledore and the Weasleys' five younger children were assembled around the dining table, where Molly was shouting at Dumbledore.
"Molly!" In all the years since their Sorting, Amelia had never seen Arthur so angry. "Albus, I am sorry, but I believe that it's time for you to leave. You have done enough harm to our family." Arthur's voice was hard.
"I am sorry, Arthur." Dumbledore slightly bowed his head, before he left through the fireplace.
"Arthur," Amelia spoke up in a firm yet soft voice. "Please allow me to question your children one after another."
The redhead nodded in understanding. "Percy, you're first. Please take Madam Bones into the park."
The oldest boy of the children present immediately rose from his chair and motioned her to follow him outside.
"Mr. Weasley," she addressed him, when they sat down on a bench next to a small pond.
"Please call me Percy. I am only fifteen. Mr. Weasley is my father."
A small smile played on Amelia's lips, as she felt reminded of Arthur as a fifteen-year-old. "I trust that you have already heard what happened this morning at the Wizengamot."
Percy nodded. "I don't know why Mum had to do all these things. I mean stealing from a baby and whatever." He shook his head in apparent annoyance.
Amelia let out a deep sigh. "Your father has decided to separate from your mother, and the five of you need to decide if you wish to stay with your father or your mother in the future."
Percy shrugged. "For me, it's not a difficult decision, as I am going to spend ten months out of twelve at Hogwarts. It will be hard for my sister though."
Amelia nodded in understanding. "This is mainly about your summer holidays," she agreed in a soft voice.
Percy remained pensive for about a minute, before he decided. "I choose my father. I suppose that I'll still be allowed to see my mother?"
"Of course."
The twins refused to speak with her separately, and as soon as they sat on the spot that Percy had occupied before, they informed her of their decision.
"After all that Mum has done…"
"… We are going to stay with our father."
'That was fast,' Amelia thought, smiling at the twins, who according to Arthur were pranksters, who had their heart in the right place.
The conversation with the two younger children did not go as smoothly as with the first three. After wailing, shouting and complaining about the destruction of their mother's wand, Ronald and Ginevra decided to remain with their mother.
Amelia informed the Weasley parents about their children's decisions, and while Arthur sent Percy and the twins packing, she turned to the fireplace, glad to be able to return to her office.
Before she could step into the fireplace, however, the twins kept her back.
"Madam Bones…"
"… May we perhaps speak with you about something else…"
"… in private?"
"Of course." Amelia gave the twins a questioning look and once again followed them outside into the park.
"Due to what our mother did…"
"… we won't be able to attend Hogwarts any longer…"
"… unless we find a job…"
"… to earn the money for our school fees."
"… Do you perhaps know someone…"
"… for whom we could work during the holidays…"
"… or during the weekends?"
Amelia remained pensive for a moment. She instinctively knew that she wanted to help these twins. 'But how?'
"Is there anything that you're especially good at?"
"Pranks and Potions." This time, the twins spoke together.
"You are able to brew prank potions?" she confirmed.
"Yes."
Amelia nodded in understanding. "I shall speak with Lord Black. He is much too interested in pranking people for my liking. Perhaps he will help you. I can't promise anything though. I'll inform you through your father, as soon as I know more."
On their way back to the fireplace, the twins profusely thanked her, making Amelia wish that she was able to efficiently help them.
'Perhaps, we could employ Percy at the ministry during the holidays,' she thought, having heard good things about the studious boy from Arthur.
'Thank Merlin Arthur found a place to live with Drommie and Ted,' she thought, as she settled down behind her desk and reflected on the events of the morning.

Later the same day, Sirius, Amelia and Arthur met with Andromeda and Ted in the Black-Tonks' house. At the same time, Harry was observing their meeting on the screen together with Santa, Claire, Merlin and his familiars.
"Thank you all so much for your help in this matter." Tears were welling in Arthur's eyes, as he thanked his best friends.
"You're welcome." Sirius smirked. "I will pay the school fees for your three children under certain conditions."
"What conditions?" Arthur's expression changed from hopeful to utmost concern.
"Nothing bad. Sirius, don't frighten Arthur." Amelia lightly scolded her former fiancé.
"Sorry." Wearing a sheepish expression, Sirius apologized. "I simply wish for the twins to invent prank potions for me at their leisure. At the same time, Meli wants Percy to work as her assistant during the school holidays."
"Prank potions? Really?" Arthur shook his head in apparent annoyance. "Sorry, Sirius, it's not as if I wasn't grateful. I am very appreciative indeed. I just wished the twins would study something useful such as cooking instead of further concentrating on pranks, seeing that I can't cook at all, because Molly did all the housework so far."
"How boring," Sirius said, causing a small discussion about cooking in the magical world.
A few minutes later, their conversation was interrupted, when a white phoenix flashed into the room handing Arthur a small parchment.
'Dear Mr. Weasley,
I can teach the twins to cook. Please allow Sirius to pick them up at eight o'clock tomorrow morning.
Yours sincerely
Harry Potter'
"Hedwig?" Arthur gave the phoenix a questioning look, and when the bird nodded, continued, "Is this a joke?"
Hedwig shook her head.
"What does it say?" Sirius craned his neck to glimpse at the letter.
Arthur looked at Sirius, before he read the short letter aloud, causing Sirius to cast his friend a proud look. "That's my godson. You must know, boys get their genes and kindness from their godfathers."
Hedwig chose that instant to flash over to the other side of Sirius, making him covered in bits and pieces of ice.
"Hey, that's cold," the Marauder complained. "Anyway, do you accept my conditions, Arthur?"
"Of course, and I thank you very much, Padfoot."
"PADFOOT?" two equal voices could be heard, as two boys stormed into the room.
"Who is Padfoot?..."
"… our idol…"
"… Where is he?"
"Ah, these twins will be my death one day." Arthur groaned in apparent annoyance, causing Sirius to grin.
"I am Padfoot," he said.
The twins stood in front of him in apparent admiration. "Oh mighty Marauder…"
"… please teach us…"
"… and make us the Mini Marauders…"
"… even if we're unworthy…"
"… but we'll do our best."
Sirius chuckled. "Deal," he said, holding out his hand to the twins, which the boys shook in apparent determination.
'Meli was right. I like these boys,' he thought, looking forward to be able to meet them on the North Pole the following morning. 'I'll see to it that they learn other things instead of just cooking,' he resolved. 'I'll make them and Harry worthy successors of the Marauders.'
