Annika hesitantly sat on the stool and inwardly let out a small gasp, when the Sorting Hat was placed on her head with his brim covering her eyes. Suddenly, a faint voice penetrated her mind.

'Now, this has to be a first. Someone wants to attend Hogwarts so badly that they have themselves be de-aged.'

'Oh no, please do not tell anyone.'

'Of course I won't. I am an old, magical artefact and my own boss. The question is what to do with you though. After all you're hiding…'

'Gryffindor please,' Annika thought back quickly.

'No, you don't have enough Gryffindor traits for me to sort you there.'

'But my sister was a Gryffindor.'

'Your sister's traits are not necessarily similar to yours. In fact, I wanted to sort her into Ravenclaw, but she talked me out of it, if I remember correctly. No, in your cast, it'll better be…'

The Hat suddenly stopped, and Annika began to wonder what happened, when she heard him shout for everyone in the Great Hall to hear.

"Slytherin."

Everyone clapped their hands, politely, and Annika hurried towards the Slytherin table feeling very comforted by the fact that Harry and his friends were there. The girls immediately made space for her, and she gratefully took her seat between Ginny and Tracey.

'I hope Dudley will be sorted here, too.'

To her relief, her son turned twin-brother joined them at the Slytherin table just two minutes later, and Harry and Neville readily made space for him.

When they retreated to their rooms later the same evening, Harry realised in shock that his and Dudley's name were written on the plate next to the door of the room, which he had shared with Draco and Neville before.

"Oh well, it makes sense. Everyone else only shares with one other person," Draco said.

"I'd prefer sharing a room with you," Harry whispered to the blond boy, who had become his best friend during the first four months at Hogwarts.

#Nothing easier than that.# An instant later, the plate was changed to 'Draco Malfoy, Harry Potter', and Hedwig requested to be taken to the other door, where she changed the plate to 'Neville Longbottom, Dudley Evans.'

"Thanks Hedwig." Draco grinned at the phoenix, before he ushered Harry into their room, closely followed by Hedwig and Paws.

"I really detest Dumbledore," Harry said, once he had closed the door behind them. "Why did he have to put me together with my cousin instead of my best friends?"

Draco shrugged, as he slowly unwrapped a chocolate frog and offered another one to Harry. "The professor might still give us toads for changing rooms without his approval."

"I don't care. Do you?"

"Nope. Do you know that Dumbledore almost lost his position as headmaster last summer?"

"Yes, I was there as a witness. He only managed to keep his position, because Sirius, my godfather, had his trial first and had not returned from Gringotts on time to vote against him."

Draco chuckled. "And here I thought that as the boy who lived you would worship the ground Dumbledore was walking on."

Hedwig let out a snort. #If you want to do something against the old coot, I am definitely in.#

Harry quickly translated, and Draco nodded in apparent contentedness.

"Well, I don't know what two first-years would be able to do against him, but thanks anyway. Perhaps, at a later time, we might take you up on that offer."

Harry nodded in determination.

#Is Dumbledore still teaching Defence Against the Dark Arts instead of hiring Sirius or Remus for the job?#

Harry translated, before he replied positively. "I think so."

"Stupid old coot," Draco muttered. "If Lord Black was a former Auror, he'll be good enough to teach the class, probably better than Dumbledore."

"He's really good. He taught Annika and Dudley, and I sometimes joined them. He's also a dog Animagus."

"Oh, we need to continue practising the Animagus transformation." Draco's voice was laced with excitement. "During the holidays, I didn't have a chance to do that."

They agreed to practise every evening after curfew.

=I will join in, too. In the Animagus practice as well as in doing some Dumbledore bashing.= The puppy ran over to Draco and eagerly licked his hand, before he repeated the process with Harry. =Can we go to bed now?=

"After cuddling yourself through the evening with all the girls fawning over you, you need me to still cuddle with you?" Harry teased the puppy, however, proceeded to ready himself for bed, when Draco shocked him to the core.

"Harry, you never had a good relationship to your cousins, had you? You only growled, when someone asked about your family, and you've never mentioned Annika at all."

"Their magic only manifested recently." It was a lame response, but Draco was kind enough to accept it nonetheless.

Ten minutes later, the boys, phoenix and puppy were fast asleep, groggy from the long travel.

Severus let himself sink into his favourite armchair and let out a deep sigh of exasperation.

'Albus and his meddling,' he thought in annoyance. 'There's no need to enquire the twins who they are, considering that Annika is the spitting image of Petunia. She looks exactly like Petunia looked at her age, so it's obvious that they're her children. Why they are back to the name Evans is a different question, but it's not as if that concerned me in any way. Lucky me, having not only Potter but also them in my house.'

'Potter is a nice boy, well behaved and studious, and we haven't lost as much as one Quidditch match, ever since he joined the team,' a small voice spoke up from the back of his mind.

'Well, and for that, I've already been forced to award him twenty snakes,' he countered, grimly, before he decided to head into his lab to evade the annoying voice that lingered at the back of his mind.

Just when he rose from his chair, Cicero, his personal house-elf, entered the room.

"Master Severus, just so you know, Draco Malfoy and Dudley Evans have changed rooms, because Harry Potter wished to reside together with Draco instead of his cousin."

"Thank you for the information." Severus gave Cicero a sharp nod. "I will not punish the boys at this time, considering that I would have to punish Draco as well, which I don't want to do, as I'm obliged to his father and since Draco is my godson."

Cicero nodded in understanding, before he excused himself and popped away, leaving Severus to head into his lab, where he spent the whole evening and half of the night, deeply engrossed in an experimental potion.

Annika immediately loved Hogwarts. Ever after hearing everything about the school from Lily, her greatest wish had always been to be able to attend Hogwarts. She shared a room with Ginny Weasley, and while she knew nothing but the muggle world, Ginny was only acquainted with the magical world, and both girls were eager to learn from each other.

Her first class on the first morning was Defence Against the Dark Arts. Apparently, the original Defence Against the Dark Arts professor had died due to an accident during the first Quidditch match of the season. At least that was what Ginny had explained to her, pointing out that Harry and Draco had won the match for Slytherin. Anyway, ever since then, the headmaster had been teaching Defence Against the Dark Arts himself – apparently due to the lack of any adequate professor.

Annika eyed the headmaster with mixed feelings. When Lily had received her Hogwarts letter, when she was still Petunia Evans and a twelve-year-old, she had written to him demanding that he should allow her to attend Hogwarts as well. However, the headmaster had, even if politely, refused – a response, which had more or less destroyed the rest of her childhood and adulthood to an extent that had required a completely new start. 'Thank God Santa gave me that new start,' she thought, as she paired up with Ginny to practise the Expelliarmus spell.

To her relief, Ginny took it easy on her, knowing that she had only begun practising magic a week ago.

Dudley was paired with Neville, Harry with Draco and Daphne with Tracey, while Dumbledore walked around the classroom observing the practice. From time to time, he singled students out and asked them to pair up with him for a moment.

HP

Harry inwardly groaned in annoyance, when Dumbledore motioned Harry to abandon Draco for a moment and cast the Expelliarmus spell at him.

'Harry, hold back your magic; I'll do something,' Hedwig thought to Paws and him.

'Now,' Hedwig instructed him, and Harry obediently raised his wand. Observing that the old wizard lightly leaned to the right side, Harry aimed at where he supposed his opponent to be when the spell would reach him, and cast. To his amazement, the spell indeed hit the old wizard, and his wand, a slightly red wand, flew into his direction. However, just when Harry set to catch the wand, it exploded in a bunch of red sparks, causing the headmaster to stare at the empty space between him and Harry in shock.

"What did you do?" the headmaster enquired in a strict voice. Harry had never seen him so angry.

"Nothing, sir," he replied, innocently. "I merely cast the Expelliarmus spell."

'That was the Elder Wand,' Paws informed him. 'It is said to be the most powerful wand in the world, although we know that your wand is more powerful.'

'And the Elder Wand is gone now?' Harry looked at the canine in disbelief.

'Yes. I destroyed it.' Hedwig seemed incredibly smug. 'Didn't we decide to give some payback to Dumbledore?'

'That you did. Well done, Hedwig.'

'Thanks Paws.'

To Harry's relief, Dumbledore immediately ended the lesson and merely instructed them to practise together with their friends. However, his relief should not last long, as his head of house strode over to the Slytherin table, when they were almost finished eating lunch.

"Mr. Potter, the headmaster wishes to see you in his office."

'Ask Severus to join you. Tell him you don't trust the headmaster,' Hedwig instructed him, sounding urgent.

"Professor, will you please accompany me?" Harry asked in a soft voice, only to add, "I don't trust the headmaster."

Snape cast him a surprised look, however, nodded. "Very well. Let's go then."

HP

When they arrived at the headmaster's office, Dumbledore motioned Harry to take a seat. "Thank you for accompanying Harry here, Severus. You may go."

"Mr. Potter asked me to remain here with him." The Potions Master's expression was blank, as he took the seat next to Harry.

"Ah, but Harry, why would that be?" Dumbledore asked. Harry hated how the old wizard used a gentle, grandfatherly voice.

"Because I don't trust you, after all you've done to my family and me." He stared right into the old man's face.

"Ah but Harry, I can explain all of it, and everything was just for the Greater Good. Once you're older, I am sure that you will understand, my boy."

"I am not your boy, and no, I don't think so. Why did you call me here, by the way?"

Dumbledore thoughtfully stroked his much too long beard, before he replied. "The wand that you destroyed this morning was a very special wand, which would have been important for me to support you in our fight against Voldemort. I trust that you have heard of him."

"By chance, yes." Harry's expression was grim, as he eyed the old wizard in disdain. "Right after I heard that I am a wizard and that magic exists. As to your wand, I simply cast the Expelliarmus spell like I was instructed to do."

"This is very strange."

"May I enquire what happened?" The Slytherin head quirked an eyebrow, causing the headmaster to tell him everything about the first-years' Defence Against the Dark Arts class. "Mr. Potter, may I watch the memory?"

Harry nodded and, like his mother had instructed him months ago, concentrated on the part, where he had efficiently cast the spell. Shortly later, he felt the professor intrude his mind, only to leave again, as soon as the memory was over.

"Thank you, Mr. Potter." Turning to the headmaster, the professor explained, "Mr. Potter merely cast the proper spell at you. May I suggest that someone else attacked you at the same time and that Mr. Potter merely was in the wrong place at the wrong time?"

The headmaster let out a deep sigh. "Severus, that was a first-year class. Which first-year would be able to do such a thing and in such a coordination?"

The Potions Master merely shook his head, however, Harry had the impression as if he cast Hedwig and Paws a glare of suspicion, which – to his relief – the headmaster seemed to not notice. Fortunately, the headmaster dismissed them without further ado.

"Potter, let me make one thing completely clear," Snape said, once they were behind the gargoyle that guarded the headmaster's office. "If any such thing happens to my wand, I will further investigate the matter."

"Yes sir," Harry replied, knowing that his familiars would know better than to harm his head of house in any way.

To his relief, no one lost another word about the Elder Wand anymore – apart from his friends, when they retreated to Harry's and Draco's room after dinner.

Daphne explained the story of the three brothers and the Elder Wand to everyone, presumably knowing that at least Annika and Dudley had never heard of it.

#I destroyed it.# Hedwig did not show any remorse. #Dumbledore really deserved it.#

"That was well done, Hedwig," Ginny was the first to comment. "He really deserved it. It's his fault after all that my mother is not allowed to do magic anymore."

Everyone else nodded their consent. 'Mum really has anarchic traits,' Harry thought in amusement, as he retired to bed later that evening.

HP

During the following weeks, Annika and Dudley quickly became used to living at Hogwarts, and Harry realised in relief that they had both completely changed and were absolutely worthy of belonging to his group of friends.

HP

During the last Potions class before the beginning of the Easter holidays, the first-years had to brew a salve for sunburn.

With a flick of Severus' wand, the recipe for the salve appeared on the screen. He looked at it with disdain. So many years ago, Lily and he had found an alteration to the recipe that would extend the working span from six hours to twenty-four. Once a year, he had applied to the Department of Education to have the recipe changed in the Potions books; however, until now, they still had not complied. Only one additional line would be necessary to insert silver moon drops right after the birch powder, but even that seemed to be too much for the Department of Education. Silver moon drops could only be harvested during the nights of the full moon; however, the Forbidden Forest had ample of the plant that gave them, which was why they had done some experiences at that time.

'Probably because of that Marchbanks bitch; she just doesn't like me,' he thought in annoyance at the stubborn old witch. He tried hard to pull himself together, recalling that he had to watch a class of imbeciles, when something caught his eye.

The Potter boy's phoenix, who was still a thorn in his eye, suddenly blinked at the boy, and he had the impression as if a silent conversation took place. The boy abandoned his work place and hurried to the ingredients cupboard only to return with…

'Silver moon drops!' Severus stared at the boy, wide-eyed.
