Chapter Six: A job where you investigate aliens and a Con job!
It's 6:38 Am, Jack can be seen with Raf doing something on the computer, on the screen shows some kind of program their working on together.
"Okay, so far its looking good. Now, are you sure that once it's done that we'll be able to detect any new Little Stars?" Jack questioned.
"I hope so, if it does then we'll be able to find them before another Kaiju or Seijin shows up and tries something." Raf said as he looked it over before doing a bit of work on it, and Jack nods his in understanding.
"Yeah, I agree. What time frame are we looking at for this to be completed?" Jack said.
"Well… I would say about a few days, at least." Raf said.
"Okay, sound good to me. Just don't do any late night shifts trying to finish this, okay?" Jack said.
"I won't." Raf replied.
"Just like your promised not to connect to the robot system mom uses to control those mechs." Pega said before Raf hit him.
"Ah, hey let's not fight." Jack said.
Meanwhile with Belial and Kei.
"Ah, Kei. Welcome back." Belial said.
"I have returned with news, Belial-sama." Kei said.
"Then let's hear your report." Belial said.
"I have successfully finished the Maga-Orochi capsule, however I found something disturbing when I finished it at the artic." Kei said.
"What?" Belial asked.
"What we believed to be a frozen Kaiju carcass was nothing more than a shell, meaning..." Kei trailed off.
"It's alive and still out there." Belial said catching on to where Kei is going with this. "…Well, so long as no one disturbs it from its slumber, everything should continue as planned." Belial said.
"I hope so as well, Belial-sama." Kei said.
"But if not see if you can take care of it. Otherwise our plans will go down the drain!" Belial said.
"Understood, Belial-sama." Kei said.
Meanwhile at the Autobots base, Jack's family arrived at the base, just in time to Bulkhead with Miko on his shoulder walking into the command center while Jack's family go up to the human area.
"Alright chores are done, now can we do some dune bashing?" Miko asked Bulkhead.
"I don't know Miko, I'm still picking sand from my alternators after the last time." Bulkhead said before he noticed her expression. "But there's a monster rally in town." Bulkhead finished and this did the trick of cheering her up before they all hear the main computer go off.
"Optimus, I'm detecting an Autobot beacon approaching Earth's atmosphere." Ratchet reported.
"Hold on, there's more Autobots out there?" Sierra asked.
"The mass's scattered to the galaxy when Cybertron went dark… but Cans have been known to set traps with false beacons." Arcee explained to her charge.
"Unknown vessel this is Autobot Outpost Omega 1 identify yourself." Optimus said.
"I've received better welcomes from Decepticon combat brigades." A male voice said with a bit of snark to it.
"Wheeljack?! You old con crusher, what are you doing here?!" Bulkhead said.
"Bulkhead? Is that you? What's with all the security?" The bot now known as Wheeljack said.
"The rock we're on is crawling with cons. How soon do you think you can get here and even the odds?" Bulkhead said.
"Sometime tomorrow if I put metal to the petal." Wheeljack said.
"Another bots coming, how cool is that?" Miko said from Bulkheads shoulder.
"Wheeljack? I know him by reputation only, can you verify his voice print?" Optimus said.
"He's 1,000% the real deal, Optimus." Bulkhead confirmed.
"We will send landing coordinates, Wheeljack. Safe journey." Optimus said.
"See you soon buddy. I'll make sure you get a proper welcome." Bulkhead said.
"So who's the boyfriend?" Arcee joked, this made Bulkhead laugh a bit at this.
"Me and Jackie go way back. We were part of the same war unit, the Wreckers! Which mean the cons will wish he never found us." Bulkhead explained.
"Well come on Raf, time to get your new bike and toy car." Jack said.
"Oh, that's right. With what just happened I almost forgot." Raf said before both him and Jack walked away and Bumblebee transformed, letting them in before he drove out as Jack directed him to the pickup point.
"Optimus, what should we do about Jack's identity as Geed when Wheeljack arrives?" Ratchet questioned.
"We'll keep it a secret till we know for sure that Wheeljack can be fully trusted with this information." Optimus said.
"I wouldn't worry Optimus. Wheeljack is good about keeping a tight lid on top secret information." Bulkhead said.
"If you say so, Bulkhead." Optimus said.
Meanwhile in Jasper, both Jack and Raf had finished getting both the bike cycle and the RC car loaded up in Bumblebee, however as they were about to leave, an old friend of Jack sees him and couldn't help but run up to him.
"Jack is that you?" Moa asked and Jack turned to see who it is and is surprised.
"Moa? What are you doing here?" Jack asked.
The two laughed as they did the signature pose of their old favorite tv series hero Donshine.
"This is quite a surprise, Moa! I thought you were still int Japan selling insurance?" Jack said.
"Ah… Well I'm on a business trip for them, so imagine my surprise when I saw you here." Moa said.
"Jack, your bike!" Raf said as some lady took off with his bike and Jack made a quick dash and caught up with the woman.
"Hey, what are you doing?!" Jack said as he stopped her only for her to thrust out her right hand and a bright yellow energy blade shot out and hit him sending Jack flying.
"The heck?" Jack said as Moa helped him up.
"Come on, you can use our car to catch up to her, we're after her as well." Moa said.
"You better give me a good explanation of what's going on." Jack said as he got into the car, followed by Raf who was holding his new RC car.
"I better drop of Raf's bike before fallowing them." Bumblebee said before he closed his doors and took off to the Darby's home.
"What direction was the woman heading?" Zena asked them while he drove.
Jack and Raf looked at the card Moa gave them as it said Smiley Face Life Insurance.
'This is fake.' Jack thought.
"See, that lady caused a car accident, then ran away. And y'know, we're in... insurance sales, right? Accidents and insurance are, like... you know, so we need to, uh, you know... with the facts, right away!" Moa said.
Raf and Jack shared a look as they didn't believe that for a second.
"I saw her face, I can help." Raf said.
"So can I." Jack said.
"That's great, thanks." Moa said.
"Your childhood friend?" Zena asked Moa silently.
"Yeah, his name is Jack Darby and that's his adopted younger brother Raf." Moa replied silently, and Zena nodded.
"Just be sure they don't get in the way, we need to capture her as soon as possible." Zena said silently.
"He used to live near us, Jack's kinda like a little brother, I guess?" Moa said.
"Jack, you know that card is fake, right?" Raf whispered.
"Yeah, I noticed. There isn't any company named Smiley Face Insurance." Jack whispered back.
"So who are these guys?" Raf asked as Jack shrugged.
Meanwhile with Leito, he was walking down the road next to the drainage that seems to be currently filled with water, he held out a five dollar.
"Aw, this is all the spending money I get this month. What I'm a going to do?" Leito said.
"Move!" A female voice called out and the woman that stole Jack's bike rode past him, almost knocking him over, though luckily he didn't lose his five bucks.
"Oh man that was close." Leito said in relief.
Zero took over as he jumped backwards as a Eleking burst out of the water, the woman on the bike stopped to look behind her before she took off again. During that time Leito was given back control.
"Uh… A-Are we going?" Leito asked.
"Nah, we'll have to hang back. I'm still not feeling good enough for Action." Zero said and this made Leito said in relief.
Meanwhile back at the Autobots base.
"It's a Eleking. They are often used as biological weapons by Pitt Seijin in planetary invasion attempts." RE.M said, as she brought up the data on the Kaiju.
"If that Kaiju is here then that means a Pitt Seijin isn't far behind. Do you know where Jack is?" Laiha asked and during that time the woman dropped the bike and tried to find a way to open a blue van in a rock quarry, only to see a white care pull up and she made a run for it.
"That's her!" Jack said as the woman ran for it.
"Stay in here, Jack-san, Raf-kun." Moa said.
"But she might be dangerous." Raf said.
"It's okay. We're insurance salesman!" Moa said as she and Zena left the car.
"What does that have to do with anything?" Raf and Jack said at the same time.
"Stay right there you two! Got it!" Moa said before bumped into Laiha. "Excuse me." Moa said.
"Sorry." Laiha said before Moa ran after Zena, and both Raf and Jack got out of the car.
"Why are you here, Laiha?" Jack questioned.
"There's a Kaiju, Its heading this way. What should we do?" Laiha said before they all heard the sound of giant foots steps and turn around to see Eleking heading their way.
"Then that Seijin has a Little Star?" Raf asked as he figured it what was going on, and this caught Laiha's attention. "There's an Seijin that showed to have the ability to wield a blade made out of light and knocked Jack away when she stole his bike." Raf explained and that made her nod.
"It's more than likely the case." Laiha said.
"I need to stop that thing, or Moa and the others will be in danger." Jack said and this made Laiha remember the women she bumped into.
"That was Moa? She definitely changed since the last time I saw her." Laiha said.
"Yeah, it was because of her I probably turned out so good." Jack said.
"Knowing your mom I find that hard to believe." Laiha said.
"Standing around doing nothing, won't get me anywhere." Jack said as he activated the Geed Riser and he's covered in a bright light before it shoots off and Ultraman Geed: Primitive appeared from it and landed in front of Eleking.
"Alright, here we go!" Geed said before he charged at the Kaiju who in return charge at him.
Geed kicked it in the gut before rolling over its back, before he made jumping spin kick that sent the Kaiju back a good distance. Though during that time the news helicopter can be seen flying above the battle. Eleking tried electric bolts from its horns but Geed made a shield and charged in before delivering a solid punch only to have to dodge a light blue energy blades that are shot out of Elelking's mouth and Geed took flight and dodged all of them.
"Wrecking Ripper!" Geed called out before he crossed his arms and threw them out to his side and fired arcs blades of purple energy that caused the ground around the Kaiju to explode.
Meanwhile down below Moa and Zena got the woman.
"Eleking!" The woman said seeing the kaiju getting hurt.
"Did you summon that thing?" Zena asked.
"We raised this one. But I put him to sleep… When I betrayed my people to force them to cancel the invasion of Earth." The woman explained.
"When you betrayed them?" Moa asked shocked at this new information.
"I took a liking to this planet and its civilization. But I could sense that he was waking up. And he's after me… so I was in a rush to get to a place where no one would get hurt." The woman explained.
"I guess not all Seijin's are bad, are they?" Moa said.
Moa hugs the woman happily, Geed flip kicked Eleking in the chin knocking the kaiju down and stood back into his stance.
"Man, I haven't faced a real Kaiju yet, and for some reason this is harder than I thought." Geed said.
Eleking's tail began to glow before it shot out at Geed and wrapped around his neck before he is then shocked. Geed tried to pry off the tail only to receive so much electricity that he fell down.
"Okay… ugh, should have remembered that Eleking can… do that." Geed groaned from the shock, though he then noticed that he can't move. "Ugh, why can't I move?" Geed asked.
"The side effect of an high intensity electric current." RE.M said.
"Shit, that means I won't be able to move for at least a minute, come on!" Geed said as he tried but failed to move as he watched Eleking move closer too Moa and the others.
"You two should run, he's after the light that's inside me!" The woman said as her little star shined as she changed into her true form
"The Kaiju is after you, right, Tri-San?" Moa asked remembering the information that headquarters sent her and Zena.
"Yes, it will inevitably come for me." Tri said.
"Then, please come with us." Moa said.
"What are you planning?" Zena asked.
"Standing around doing nothing won't get us anywhere, will it? I used to say that to Jack… to the boy with the bicycle… All the time! Now come on." Moa said before she ran off and Tri fallowed behind her.
"Hey…" Zena called out before he followed them.
"Jack-kun, where are you?! Raf?!" Moa asked not seeing them in the car. "Get inside the car for now!" She said to Tri-Tip as she helped her in the car, Zena following. "Wait, don't start driving yet." She said to him as she headed to the trunk.
"It's attracted to the Little Star." Tri-Tip said.
"What's a Little Star?" Zena asked.
"My colleagues say they're an energy that indicates potential. No one knows what causes them, and for some reason, several cases have popped up recently." Tri said.
"Sounds to me like someone's behind it." Zena said.
Meanwhile Moa then opened the trunk to reveal the strange plant they acquired from the Seijin they sent off world.
"Moa, what are you doing?" Zena asked as he went back there with her.
Moa squeezed the bulb making a lot of green mist to come out, the mist covered both agents and flew into Eleking's face and the agents fainted while the Kaiju behaver changed to violent to docile.
"Eleking's behavior has suddenly changed." RE.M said.
"Now I can move!" Jack said as Geed got up. "Time for my courage to burn bright!" Geed said before he's covered in an emerald light with flames before it disperses to Ultraman Geed: Solid-Burning.
Geed crouched down and launched his eye slugger and it hit Eleking a few times before it came back and Geed caught it in his right hand.
"Emerium Boost Beam!" Geed said as he fired a beam from the light on his head the beam went up Eleking's neck making an explosion at its head. Tri-Tip remembered the time she raised Eleking from a baby, Tri-Tip then ran out of the car.
"Please, let him rest in peace!" Tri shouted to Geed who heard her pleas and nodded before attaching his Geed Slugger to his right elbow.
"Boost Slugger Punch!" Geed called out.
Before he made a huge leap towards Eleking and sliced the Kaiju in half, said Kaiju the exploded and the Little Star flew out of Tri and went into Geed and inside he had a blank capsule out and it turned into Ultraman Hikari.
"Wow, Ultraman Hikari, that explains the sword of light." Geed said before he flew off.
During the time Kei can be seen with a blank Kaiju Capsule pointed towards where Eleking just died, a dark mist is seen sucked into it and it transformed into an Eleking Capsule.
"When overwhelmed by fear, people call for help." Kei said to himself before he smirked.
Later at the New Galaxy Market.
"I'm glad we were able to open back up." Haruo said with a grin as Jack sat with Moa as Raf played with his new toy car.
"Congratulations." Jack said giving him some applause. "So, uh, was there anything weird about that lady you were chasing the earlier today?" Jack asked this caused Moa spat out her drink.
"Not at all! She was totally normal, why?" Moa said and both Jack and Raf gave her deadpan expressions.
"Riiight, and I'm a Yapool Seijin." Jack said before he noticed Laiha. "Oh, hey Laiha come sit with us." Jack said.
"It's alright, I don't really celebrate." Laiha said as she looked at everything on sale.
"It's been a while Laiha." Moa said.
"Hey, how's Sierra?" Jack asked Laiha and Moa did another spit take.
"S-Sierra?" Moa asked.
"She's my precious friend." Jack said making her spit take again. "Are you going to do that every time I say something?" Jack asked with an raised eyebrow.
"Since when?" Moa asked.
Jack rolled his eyes, Raf followed his car to a corner before looking up and seeing Leito standing there.
"Hello." Leito said Raf shouted as he ran away carrying his car.
"Stranger danger!" Raf said as he ran behind Jack who stood up.
"Relax Raf, he's more than likely here for the items being sold here." Jack said before he went up to Leito. "Sorry about that, he's been taught to do that when he meets people he doesn't know." Jack said.
"It's okay. My card." Leito said handing Jack a small card before he took his glasses off as he and Jack walked a bit away.
"I've been looking for you." Zero said as he took control, of course this confused Jack. "Ultraman Geed." Zero finished.
"Come again?" Jack said.
"Let me introduce myself, I'm Zero, Ultraman Zero." Zero said and Jack tensed when he heard that name. "What's wrong?" Zero asked.
"Sorry… Just wasn't expecting to see you again, though maybe I should have." Jack said.
"Why is that?" Zero asked.
"Never mind, what do you want?" Jack asked
"Well I have lots of questions for you, but..." Zero said as he looked back at the others looking at them "I guess they can wait." Zero finished and Jack knew that he would have to talk to him soon, so he let out a sigh before pulling out a card and handing it to him.
"Meet me tomorrow at this address during 3PM, and we'll talk more about whatever it is." Jack said.
"Got it, hang in there kid." Zero said giving Jack a friendly pat on the shoulder before he gave Leito back control.
"I guess we'll talk later then?" Leito said before they both bowed and Leito left before Jack rejoined everyone.
"What was that about, bro?" Raf asked.
"Ah nothing really, just wanted to asked me something and we agreed to meet up tomorrow." Jack said.
Raf shrugged as he went back to playing with his car, and so they stayed for a good amount of time before Jack and Raf head home, when they got back they see June already there relaxing on the couch.
"Hello boys." June said.
"Hi mom." Jack said before he joined her.
"You look troubled, Jack." June said.
"Yeah… I ran into Zero today." Jack said.
"Are you okay?" June asked.
"Running into the rival of my father who's dead set on killing him? I was a bit afraid." Jack said.
"I can imagen." June said as she remembered what RE.M said about Zero. "So… should I expect him some time tomorrow?" June asked.
"Well I told him to meet me here at 3 tomorrow, Pega stop watching that commercial." Jack said as Pega was watching a little clip about someone calling themselves the healing comedian.
"But… this shows something about a guy who can heal any kind of wound." Pega said.
"Trust me Pega, I think this current conversation is more… wait, come again?" Jack said.
"Yeah watch" Pega said.
"This I got to see." Jack said.
"For today's hot personality, we're looking at the healing comedian, Arai Takashi. He apparently has the ability to heal all manner of injuries in an instant!" The news woman said before they cut to a video of a teen.
"Healinguarmet? Healingummies? Healingunma!" The teen said causing Pega to groan at the lame sense of humor.
"I could tell a thousand jokes better than this guy." Jack said.
"Shh, watch." Pega said.
"His jokes may need some work, but his healing abilities seem to be the real deal." The reporter said.
Everyone saw many hurt people with the next being a kid with his arm in a sling.
"Healinggratin!" Arai said as his chest glowed faintly before the kid's arm glowed, before the kid gasped in awe before removing his arm to show that its completely healed.
"Hey, I can move my arm!" The kid said and this made June, Laiha, Raf, and Pega lean in towards the TV.
"A little star?!" June, Raf, Laiha and Pega exclaimed at the same time.
"Yes but it's not coming from him." Jack said as he paused the video. "look closely, every case of little stars has had it shining right through the person's body, this one is only faintly so either I'm blind or there's something else in his shirt with a little star." Jack finished.
"Two little star cases in one day?" Pega said.
"And all before Wheeljack is supposed to show." Laiha said.
"Hey Jasper, what a town." Raf said.
"Has anybody noticed that so far besides Raf's classmate, every little star case has been someone that's Japanese?" Jack asked and this made everyone think.
"Now that you mentioned it, it does seem that anyone from Japan are usually a Little Star host… In fact most of them from what I remember, used to live near the center point of the Crisis Impact." June said as she remembered from meeting all of the parents at High School events.
"Something doesn't smell right." Jack said Pega then raised his arm and smelled himself and Jack laughed a bit at this. "I don't mean literally Pega." Jack said, as this was going on Laiha remembered something from her past.
"Then that means… My Little Star must have been something important." Laiha said getting their attention.
"What makes you say that?" June asked.
"It's because… I was born right at the center of the blast point that's located at an old hospital." Laiha explained shocking everyone present.
"We can talk little stars after we find this guy. It's gonna be one of those days." Jack said as he made himself a sandwich and went back out with the others.
"That's gonna have to wait, Jack. Its late and I'm sure that he's not there at the moment. Besides, you have to be prepared for meeting this new Autobot and having to talk to Zero tomorrow." June said and they all agreed.
"You're right, mom. Let's eat and then head off to bed, something tells me tomorrow is going to be a looong day." Jack said and everyone did just that before they headed off to bed.
Meanwhile Kei can be seen talking to Belial again.
"That boy of mine sure is something." Belial said sounding proud and Kei could only nod in agreement.
"Indeed, Belial-sama. It's his first time fighting an actual Kaiju, and he figured out how to deal with it and gain another Little Star in the process." Kei said.
"Not to mention, even if Zero is here, he's to injured to even fight at his full strength and his bracelet is to damage to let him use his other forms." Belial added.
"I have tried to find the Maga Orochi, but it has traveled too deep underground for me to sense." Kei said.
"A pest to deal with later." Belial said. "And speaking of which, are we ready for the next phase of the plane?" Belial asked.
"Yes, I'll that is left is for Geed at activate the next Ultra-Capsule and the next phase cane begin." Kei replied.
"Alright keep an eye on things and report back if the Orochi shows up." Belial said.
Meanwhile back with Jack.
"You look beat." Bumblebee said as he opened his doors for them to go to the base.
"Well, we have a little star out there and we don't know where it is so Kaiju could be attacking at any moment, and I have to meet Zero this afternoon the very man who's made it his mission to finish off Belial, my dad, who's his rival, so yes I am a bit stressed." Jack said.
"Yeesh." Bumblebee said as they all got in and Bee pulled out of the garage and left for the base, it didn't take them long to arrive.
"Wheeljack's ship is approaching the landing coordinates." Arcee said.
"Well that's good at least." Jack said.
"So let me see if I got this straight, we're having Wheeljack travel halfway around the world before we bridge him here?" Sierra questioned
"Can't risk the location of the base, it's the same thing I'd do." Jack said.
"That is correct Jack, we cannot allow him to know the exact location of our base, in case the Decepticons are monitoring his ship radio." Optimus said.
"Groundbridge cycling up." Ratchet said before it sparked making him groan as he hit it. "Blasted Scraplets. The equipment hasn't been the same since the infestation." He said.
"Hey, Pinky is still sensitive about that." Miko said as she petted the pink eyed Scraplet.
"Pinky?" Ratchet asked.
"Yeah I figured if they're staying they should have names." Miko said.
"Well… should have seen that coming." Jack said with Sierra letting out a slight laugh.
Everyone jumped as Bulkhead screamed... again.
"You'd think he'd be used to them by now." Arcee said.
"One would think." June said.
"Dude I've never seen you so stoked." Miko said as Bulkhead was pacing back and forth in anticipation.
"Oh you're gonna love Wheeljack, we were like brothers, and tonight we are gonna party!" Bulkhead said.
"Suh-weet!" Miko said in excitement, at that moment the computer let off an alert and shows five red dots chasing Wheeljack's ship.
"Bogeys closing fast on Wheeljack's position." Arcee said.
"Con scum!" Bulkhead said angrily.
They watched as the blips moved back forth for a moment before Wheeljack's showed that he crashed.
"Come on, Ratchet, we're missing all the action!" Bulkhead said.
Ratchet groaned as he opened up the Groundbridge controls "Wha, get out of there!" He said as one of the Scraplets jumped out giggling. "There." He said as he activated the bridge "I'll prepare sickbay." He said.
"Haha! For whom, the cons? This is Wheeljack we're talking about." Bulkhead said before they ran through the bridge.
When Bulkhead, Arcee and Bumblebee ran through they saw Wheeljack, stabbing a Vehicon before finishing off one that tried to sneak up on him.
"Hehe, I taught him that." Bulkhead said.
"Ever think I might need a hand?" Wheeljack asked.
"What? And spoil the show?" Bulkhead said.
"You missed one." Arcee stated, only for Wheeljack to shoot the one he missed as he walked towards them.
"If this is all you've got, then the planets in more trouble than I thought." Wheeljack said as he retracted his face guard.
"Jackie!" Bulkhead said as he picked Wheeljack up hugging him.
"Hey, watch the finish, you old wrecking ball." Wheeljack said.
Next the four ran through the Groundbridge.
Ratchet jumped back as the control made a sound as the Groundbridge sparked.
"Oh no… not again." Jack complained as he knew fixing the blasted thing is no small feat.
"Jackie, come here come meet my other best buddy, Miko, she can wreck with the best of them." Bulkhead said.
"Hiya." Miko said.
"Keeping Bulk out of trouble?" Wheeljack said.
"I try… But trouble finds us anyway." Miko said.
"We're going to get along just fine." Wheeljack said.
Optimus approached Wheeljack.
"Optimus Prime, it's a privilege." Wheeljack said.
"Likewise soldier, what have you to report from your long journey?" Optimus asked.
"Been bouncing from rock to rock, searching for signs of friend or foe, now I find both." Wheeljack said.
"Welcome to Earth Wheeljack, we may be small in number, but we're strong in strength." Optimus said. "We'd relish welcoming another into our fold." Optimus said.
"I'd be honored." Wheeljack said.
"Then let's get this party started!" Bulkhead said as he patted Wheeljack on the back before the two bumped chestplates.
Ratchet groaned thinking about all the noise, Jack looked at Wheeljack as he couldn't tell but for some reason his instincts were telling him not to drop his guard around him. About half an hour later Jack can be seen helping Ratchet repairing the Groundbridge while Bulkhead and Wheeljack toss a large metal sphere back and forth, while Miko is rocking out her guitar.
"How's the circuitry in there, Jack?" Ratchet questioned and Jack came out of an opened panel while taking a cloth and whipping his hands.
"All burnt wires have been replaced and new circuit boards have been installed." Jack reported.
"Best news I've heard all day." Ratchet said and Jack put the panel back into place before he went over and joined both Arcee and Sierra.
"So what's that?" Jack asked.
"Lobbing, it's a favorite pastime back on Cybertron especially amongst the warrior class." Arcee said.
"Hey guys, mind if I join in?" Jack asked.
"You?" Wheeljack asked.
"Jackie, check it. Coming at you Jack." Bulkhead said.
Bulkhead threw the metal ball at Jack who leapt up and caught it with his bare hands effortlessly.
"But he's a human, right?" Wheeljack asked.
"I'm special." Jack said as he threw the metal ball back at Bulkhead who slid back before his back hit the wall
"Oh, Primus, great lob" Bulkhead said as rubbed his gut and hands, while Sierra has this look on her face that say she's used to seeing this and something ells.
'Why do I feel… drawn to him, it can't be for being an Ultraman… It has to be something ells, but what?' Sierra thought to herself and June noticed that looked anywhere.
"I know that look." June whispered to Sierra, who jolted.
"Huh… W-What look?" Sierra said.
"That look you keep sending Jack." June said this made Sierra sigh.
"I'm that obvious, huh?" Sierra said.
"Pretty much… So?" June trailed off.
"I can't help it, there's just something about him." Sierra said.
"I used to think he and Laiha would get together some time back" June said getting her attention. "But then I found out that they see each other as siblings of sorts and they always sparred against each other from time to time." June finished.
"It's like when we first looked at each other's eyes… there was a spark." Sierra said.
"I know, the same happened to me after I met his father in a hospital room." June said.
"That reminds me… how did you meet him?" Sierra asked and June sighed in remembrance of that day.
"He came in the Hospital in pretty bad shape, of course he was pretty stubborn about anyone helping him at first. But as soon as I walked in and talked to him did he only allow me to treat him." June said.
"What happened next?" Sierra asked.
"We just clicked it was like fate brought us together and even after everything I've found out, I still love him." June said.
"Did he tell you about him being… well ya know?" Sierra asked and June sighed.
"No… he didn't, he only left behind a recording that told everything about who he is and why he left." June replied.
"Was he there for Jack's birth?" Sierra asked.
"Yeah." June said with a chuckle. "You should have seen the way he smiled as he held Jack." June said with a smile as she recalled how he held their newborn son and the smile he had on his face.
"To be honest… I don't know how you handled finding out he's Ultraman Belial himself." Sierra said.
"To put it simply, I was both shocked and angry. Shocked that he's Belial and angry at him for not telling me himself and once he returns I plan on giving him a hard slap and a tight hug." June said and Sierra chuckled hearing that.
"I still believe there's good in him, even now. I can feel it." June said as she held her hands over her heart.
"Even for someone like Belial?" Sierra asked.
"I wouldn't have married him if I wasn't sure" June said and this made Sierra think about what June said while Jack decided to rejoin them figuring he had his fun.
"Well that was a good exorcise." Jack said before sitting down next to Sierra, who didn't notice him.
Sierra turned and blushed darkly as Jack had taken off his shirt as it got hot underneath all those circuits and wires, but what really got her blushing is the fact of what he's been hiding under that shirt. While not overly muscular and not too thin, Jack has the body of muscles that seem to be made out of marble with little to no fat on him. June noticed this and couldn't help but smirk at the young woman's expression and leaned in too her ear.
"See something you like?~" June teased, and this made Sierra blush even harder.
"Come on Raf and Pega, show us some moves!" Miko said interrupting them.
"Oh alright." Raf said as he got up.
"Here goes nothing." Pega said as they both stood up and in synch started doing the robot and Bumblebee came up behind them and watched before joined in as well.
Jack chuckled a bit as the Scraplets seemed to be trying to copy them but ended up tripping over themselves.
"Of course the robot." Jack commented causing June to chuckle a bit at this, before noticing one member of Team Prime missing. "Hey, where's Optimus?" Jack questioned.
"Out for a drive, Prime's don't party." Arcee answered.
"Coming at ya!" Bulkhead said.
He flung the metal ball at Wheeljack who jumped up to catch it, but it slipped through his hands landing by Ratchet making something spark.
"You know I am attempting to perform sensitive calibrations here!" Ratchet said and this made Jack get up and run over to him.
"Sorry about that, Doc. Guess we're a bit charged up." Wheeljack said as he picked up the metal ball and walked over. "So you build this Groundbridge from scratch?" Wheeljack asked as Ratchet checked to make sure every things in order.
"I did." Ratchet said not really paying attention, though Jack was and decided to listen in on their conversation.
"That's quite a feat of engineering." Wheeljack complemented.
"Yes… It is ." Ratchet said as he noticed Wheeljack's behavior.
"Something… wrong with it?" Wheeljack questioned.
"I didn't care for the way it sounded this last jump, I put it in shutdown." Ratchet said.
"What if you need to use it?" Wheeljack questioned.
"Ooh, I can't interrupt the defrag process without causing irreparable damage." Ratchet said.
"Soo… how long will the defrag take?" Wheeljack asked.
"A few hours… two if we're lucky." Ratchet answered this made Wheeljack hum to himself before rejoining Bulkhead in their lobbing, while Jack walked up to Ratchet.
"You noticed it too, didn't you?" Jack whispered loud enough for him to hear.
"… Yes, something isn't right with Wheeljack. Though I can't put my finger on it." Ratchet replied back in the same whisper, about an hour and a half later Bulkhead is telling some old war stories from his days with the Wreckers.
"So there we were no communications, low on Energon, surrounded by cons so what does Wheeljack do?" Bulkhead said as he began telling Pega, Raf and Miko some of old battle stories Miko and Pinky listened in with excitement as Raf held Scrappy, the regular blue eyed one Bulkhead chuckled. "Tell 'em Jackie!" He said who seemed lost in thought till he heard Bulkhead.
"What I do best." Wheeljack said.
"He chucks his only grenade snack into the primary heat exchanger!" Bulkhead said.
"Yeah, seemed like a good idea at the time" Wheeljack said.
"The joint went supernova!" Bulkhead exclaimed.
"Awesome." Miko said with Pinkie making a sound of amazement as well.
"Yeah, and I'm still picking shrapnel out of my backside." Bulkhead said before scratching said backside.
"I'm not surprised… given the size of your backside." Arcee remarked.
"Hoho! Nice one Cee! Haha!" Bumblebee said.
Jack, who put his shirt back on much to Sierra's disappointment, noticed Wheeljack glancing over at Ratchet working, and he knew something is up.
"There it is, Jackie's signature, one grenade, one shot. Hey you alright?" Bulkhead asked waving his hand to get Wheeljack's attention.
"What?" Wheeljack said.
"You don't seem like yourself." Bulkhead said and this made Wheeljack a bit nervous.
"What you mean?" Wheeljack questioned.
"Don't know, you seem quiet." Bulkhead said.
"Ah, I've been stuck in a can too long, I should go topside before get stir crazy." Wheeljack said.
"I have patrol in the morning, you can come with." Bulkhead offered.
"Well let's go now." Wheeljack said.
"And break up the party? Come on the gangs loving you. You gotta tell them about the battle of Dark Mount Pass!" Bulkhead said.
"You tell em, your batter at it. How about Miko here shows me the rest of your base?" Wheeljack said.
"Alright!" Miko said in excitement as Pinky followed her. "The tour starts now." Miko said before leading Wheeljack down a hallway.
"You alright?" Arcee asked Bulkhead.
"Yeah… It's just that… somethings wrong with Wheeljack. He's never one for being quiet, not once." Bulkhead said.
"Yeah he's not right" Jack said.
"How do you know?" Pega asked.
"I have a lot of family members who have served in the military, Navy, Air Force etc. Every family reunion they look forward to tell their stories to me and my cousins, not once has he told a story and he's been focused on Ratchet fixing the Groundbridge the entire time." Jack said, and this made June think about it as well.
"Your right… he hasn't said anything during the war stories, and the amount of attention to Ratchet's work is suspicious on its own." June agreed.
"But that doesn't make any sense, he knew every… detail on past events. But there's one story that might confirm our suspicions." Bulkhead said.
"Hey, what are you guys talking about?" Wheeljack asked as he and Miko came back into the room
"I was just telling the guys all about you and me, at the battle of Dark Mount Pass." Bulkhead said and Jack figured that there's something about it that may reveal what's going on.
"That's a heck of a story." Wheeljack said.
"Yep, tell it." Bulkhead said and everyone stood there wanting to see what happens, Miko was about to say something tell Jack places his hand on her shoulder and makes a motion to be quiet and listen and she does.
"I'm not sure I-" Wheeljack started.
"Tell it!" Bulkhead interrupted.
"…Fine want to live in the past, Bulkhead." Wheeljack said after a moment of pause. "The Wreckers were trapped between a Decepticon Patrol and a smelting pit. Cons were vicious, bearing down on us with everything they had, me and Bulkhead engaged the enemy and left them for scrap, the I made us a way out using their backside as steppingstones across the molten metal, Isn't that what happened?" Wheeljack said and after a moment Bulkhead spoke.
"Yeah, that's exactly how it happened…" Bulkhead started this made Wheeljack smirk to himself. "Except for one little thing." Bulkhead said and Wheeljack's expression went from calm to horror. "I wasn't there." Bulkhead stated and Ratchet overheard this and turned from his work while the humans started backing away from Wheeljack.
"What?" Ratchet said hopping he heard right.
"I already left the Wreckers to joined up with Optimus, but you wouldn't know that if all you did was accessed Wheeljack's public service record!" Bulkhead finished and the Scraplet runts all had their teeth bared and ready for a little snack and Jack pulled out his gun while June led everyone ells back to the human area.
'Wheeljack' looked at Miko, something Jack noticed before he pushed her away getting grabbed. "stay back or I'll squeeze him into pulp!" He said in a voice that wasn't Wheeljack's.
"Looks like I'm right… again." Jack said, everyone just looked on in amusement which confused the fake.
"Why are all not concerned for this kid?!" The fake exclaimed.
"Oh we're concerned alright, for him no, for yourself maybe or have you forgotten what he's capable of when he caught that lobing ball?" Bulkhead said with a smirk and the con's face seemed to have been drained of his Energon, though before he could do anything Jack used his super strength to break free and the cons fingers at the same time causing him to howl in pain.
Seeing his chance this time he grabbed Miko, and this time he knew that she's easy to use as a hostage.
"Let's try this again." The fake said as he held Miko in his other servo.
"Decepticon coward, let the girl go and face me!" Bulkhead said.
"Don't fret, plenty of fighting to come." The fake said.
"Is there even a real Wheeljack?!" Sierra asked while hiding behind Jack.
"Oh, indeed and expect Lord Starscream is making sport of him." Wheeljack said .
Before shoving Ratchet away from the controls to see 99.58% of the Groundbridge functionality is ready and this made him growl before he use what he could of his damaged servo to try and speed it up. Before hearing a beeping and could only grin in satisfaction.
"About time." Wheeljack said as he punched in coordinates and activated it, before walking in front of it. "Let's get this party started." The fake said before in a turn of events the real Wheeljack jumped through and knocked the fake to the ground tossing Miko who get caught be Bulkhead before he sets her down gently.
"I'd shut that hole before the stink comes through." Wheeljack said and Ratchet did just that.
The fake Wheeljack got up and activated his face mask as he grabbed his swords just as did the real one and they began to circle each other, Bulkhead was about to join in until the real one held his sword in front of him.
"Uglies mine." Wheeljack stated before both of them engaged in combat.
"He just called himself ugly." Pega said only to be gibby slapped by Jack on the shoulder as the watched the two fight till the original finally defeated the fake and knocked him unconscious.
"Hehe! I taught him that." Bulkhead said.
"You, flip the switch, it's time to take out the trash." Wheeljack said as Bulkhead walked up. "All yours buddy." Wheeljack said and Bulkhead walked up and grabbed the unconscious con and watched Wheeljack set a timer on the fakes grenade before Bulkhead threw the fake like a lob ball into the Groundbridge before it closed.
"Nice lob." Wheeljack said.
"Nice setting his grenade to go off." Jack said.
"I figured that Makeshift might have found out the location of this base, so I decided to give the cons a nasty surprise." Wheeljack said.
"Heh. That's Jacki for ya!" Bulkhead said before remembering the name of the con. "Wait a minute, The Makeshift was here!?" Bulkhead said.
"Who do you think that was?" Wheeljack asked.
"Okay, for those who don't know about this 'Makeshift' may need some dialogue." Sierra said.
"Makeshift was known as a pretender, Cybertronians who can change their appearance to any other Cybertronian and match their voice till they've been found out." Arcee explained.
"Not to be confused with shifters who can become anyone they want." Bulkhead said.
"That would make sense." Jack said.
"Thank goodness." June said in relief.
About an hour later Optimus returned and as briefed on what happened while he was out, and currently Ratchet is finishing the repair's on Wheeljack's ship and could only groan at Miko's guitar play.
"Hey, Jack don't you have to meet Zero?" Pega asked this made Jack look at his watch to see that its very close to the meeting time.
"Yeah, better head home and get it over with." Jack said..
"I think I'll come to." June said
"If that's what you want." Jack said before he made a motion to bumblebee who understood before transformed and let them in.
When they went home Jack dropped on the couch.
"So how hurt are you? And next time you break into my house, I'll call the cops." He said as he didn't look away from the ceiling when Zero/Leito entered the room
"I thought you'd be home, so I came early." Zero said.
"Whatever, so what is it you wanted to talk about?" Jack asked.
"It's about those Ultra-Capsules you have, where did you get them?" Zero asked.
"Here, at this very place. Left behind by my own father so I can transform into my true self, sense I'm a half blood." Jack answered.
"Half-blood? How can you be a half blood?" Zero asked.
"Well my daddy Belial loved my mom very much-" Jack said chuckling before Zero stopped him.
"Ah shut it! Urasai!" Zero said. "Great now I have that image in my head." He said, this made both Jack and June laugh a bit.
"Hehe, but to answer your question, even I don't know how we were able to conceive Jack, I just wound up pregnant and the rest is history." June said
"Gah!" Zero said as he shook his head. "Great now it's stuck there, my father said Ultras can make their own forms but for them to work that well!" He said as he shuttered.
"Wait… do you mean that the human form may or may not result in this?" June asked.
"They can make their own human forms usually off of their previous hosts, I just didn't know they functioned that well as humans." Zero said.
"So what does that mean for me?" Jack asked.
"Why are you asking me? You're the very first Human/Ultraman hybrid, you're one of kind kid." Zero said.
"Great, just wonderful. So there's no telling what I could essentially do?" Jack said.
"Nope so far you've shown the strength and agility of a Ultra, who knows maybe you could even be able to use your powers in human form. This is uncharted territory." Zero said.
"…Now that I think about it, you always had the highest grades in school and you do have very high accuracy, with the ability to adapt to any fighting style." June said.
"Perfect aim, very high intelligence and a great fighter, you sound like me." Zero said with a grin.
"I haven't seen so much intelligence from you." Jack said making him drop his grin and for June to giggle at what he said. "Though let's not find out, for the sake of your wounds." Jack added.
"After I heal I could train you a bit." Zero said.
"That sounds like a good reason just for Pega to get his camera out." Jack said.
"Dear Kami-sama, was I this much of a hassle when I was young?" Zero said causing both June and Jack to lough their butts off.
"Doesn't Leito have work?" Jack asked.
"Kuso, you're right!" Zero said and he got up.
"Hey, Zero. Get well." Jack said.
"Sure thing, kid." Zero said before he left.
"Now to look for the guy." Jack said and both Jack and June head down to the ship and met up with RE.M. "Hey, RE.M." Jack said.
"Welcome back, June, Jack." RE.M greeted.
"Honey how's about some rest, you've been through a lot today." June said.
"A few hours nap doesn't sound so bad." Jack said.
"I'm just down here for a few hours cat nap, been through a lot. Glad we set up those extra rooms, especially the one in here." Jack said as he went over to the living quarters
"First a con disguised as an Autobot, then that somewhat funny chat with Zero, after the Makeshift nonsense I could use a nap too." June said.
"Sounds like you all had quite the day." RE.M said.
"Yeah." Jack said as he held one of Pega's stuffed animals, an octopus to be exact "Oh wow, now I see why he and Raf sleep with one of these." He said and he feel asleep not knowing what the next day will bring.
