I'm so sorry for the ridiculously long wait. I have been so busy its ridiculous. Hopefully I can update more regularly from now on. I know it's pretty short, but at least it's something right?
Chapter 12
Hermione was so excited to start her second year at Hogwarts. Over the summer she kept in contact with Harry, Ron and Cedric but she hadn't seen them. Her parents took her on vacation but after experiencing the excitement of the wizarding world nothing in the muggle world could ever measure up. Not even a trip to Rome.
Her father wasn't too happy to discover that the friends she made in school were all boys, but she assured him they were all just friends.
As Hermione packed her things she couldn't help but smile at the thought of Cedric and Ron packing their luggage. She couldn't picture them folding their clothes neatly and packing it. They must make their moms do it. She thought to herself as she zipped up her luggage.
Tomorrow is the big day and Hermione was buzzing with excitement.
At the same time in the wizarding world. Cedric was packing his own luggage, or more like throwing clothes and books into his trunk. He could hardly close the trunk, but managed to without having to organize his things better.
He was also excited for tomorrow because he would be seeing his friends Hermione and Harry and Ron. Cedric had seen most of his classmates over the break, but Hermione went on vacation, Harry was stuck with his uncle and aunt, and Ron… well Cedric wasn't quite ready to hang out with Ron alone just yet.
He did write to all of them, and Hermione of course sent him a novel back. He didn't know how she could write that much without her hand falling off, but he read the whole thing and teased her about it in the letter he sent back.
Cedric was looking forward to school tomorrow, though he would never admit that to anyone.
Cedric woke up to his alarm clock and jumped out of bed. He showered and dressed in record time and rushed his parents out of the house.
They got to King's Cross Station in under a half hour. They went to Platform 9 ¾ and waited for the train to start loading the students, although Cedric was waiting for something else.
About twenty minutes later Hermione finally showed up and Cedric shouted for her to come over. He didn't realize that her parents were with her until she started introducing them to him.
Her dad gave him a firm hand shake, and her mom hugged him.
"It's so nice to finally meet you. Hermione talked about you so much over the summer." Her mother said.
"Mom!" Hermione yelled mortified as she turned the pink. Cedric blushed along with her.
"Where are your other friends Harry and Ron?"
"They must not be here yet." Hermione said with a shrug.
"Cedric aren't you going to introduce us to your friend here?" Amus asked.
"Oh um Hermione these are my parents." Mom dad this is Hermione."
"Nice to meet you both." Hermione said shaking their hands.
"Cedric talked about you all summer too." Amus said slapping his son on the back.
"Dad." Cedric said embarrassed and Hermione chuckled.
Their parents began to talk to each other and Hermione and Cedric slipped away from their embarrassing parents.
"So how was your summer?" Cedric asked.
"It was good. We went to Rome like I told you in my letter…"
"Don't you mean your novel? Were Ron and Harry lucky enough to receive such a well detailed letter, or am I that special?"
"I wouldn't say special but yours was definitely the longest. "
As more and more students came onto the platform Cedric and Hermione began getting approached by other students that wanted to talk to Cedric.
Ceric didn't know most of them, and yes most of them were girls.
An announcement was made that students were able to start boarding the train.
"Should we wait for Ron and Harry?" Hermione asked Cedric.
"Na we'll meet them on the train. If we wait all the best cars will be gone."
"You mean you won't be able to hide from your fan club." Hermione said.
"Exactly."
They said goodbye to their parents and boarded the train. They picked the car all the way at the back of the train where most students don't even bother walking to.
"I wonder where they are?" Hermione asked.
"They'll be here." Cedric said as he sat next to Hermione who sat by the window.
Just then a group of students bashed through the door and made Cedric and Hermione jump.
It was Cedric's quiddich team and they all wanted to sit with them.
They didn't ask if they could sit. They just made themselves comfortable.
"Of course you can come in." Cedric said sarcastically as he scooted closer to Hermione to make room for his friends.
"Hermione it's nice to see you again." Anthony said ignoring Cedric's sarcasm.
"I see Cedric wasted no time in finding you again." Malcolm said and everyone laughed except for Hermione and Cedric who just blushed.
"You just couldn't wait to get here to see Hermione could you. I bet the sod was here five hours ago waiting for Hermione to show up." Herbert said.
They were all making fun of him and laughing. Cedric was mad and Hermione was just embarrassed and uncomfortable because she knew Cedric was mad, and she was in a car full of older boys. She was just happy that she was between Cedric and the window.
"Hey Hermione what do you hang out with this old sod for?" Anthony asked.
"Apparently our boy Ced tickles her fancy like every other bird on this train." Malcolm said rolling his eyes.
"Leave her alone Malcolm." Cedric said.
Hermione mostly ignored the loud obnoxious boys around her.
As the train whistle blew to signal their departure Hermione became worried about Harry and Ron.
"Cedric do you think something happened to Ron and Harry?" Hermione leaned in close to his ear so that he would hear her over the loud boys.
"They're probably just in another car. Don't worry about them." Cedric said leaning closer to Hermione.
"Hey love birds no whispering sweet nothings. " Malcolm said with a smirk.
Hermione blushed and Cedric glared at his friend.
"Come on Ced lighten up we're just having some fun." Herbert said elbowing Cedric.
"Well have some fun about something else." Cedric grumbled and folded his arms like a little boy angry he was being teased.
"Holy cricket! Look!" Hermione shouted at something out the window.
Flying above them was a car with Harry hanging out of it and someone else who could only be Ron trying to help him back into the car.
"Blimey, they're in another car alright." Malcolm said.
