Part 2! Again, this and chapter 4 were originally going to be one chapter but it was just too long, so I split it! So, reviews are always helpful, don't be scared to criticise, and let's get to it!

up… wake up... WAKE UP DUMBASS!

Whhhhhhaaaaat? Asta drowsingly said, having woken up, with one hell of a headache. It all started when he got his grimoire. Turns out, Liebe is an early bird, while Asta is a late sleeper. A recipe for disaster!

Looks like Martha CAN handle herself. Wondering what he means, Asta looks out the window, sees the giant bubble, gets his grimoire, and says, "Ok, you win Liebe."

With that, Asta runs towards Martha, getting out his sword. However,

Is that commoner trying to steal MY woman? How dare he! Is what Percy thought, as he activates a spell, "Earth magic: Cobble Burst." A medium amount of cobble came into existence, shooting themselves at Asta. Not seeing them in time, Asta gets hit by them in full force, knocking him back.

"HEY! WHAT THE HELL? WHY ARE YOU AIMING AT ME WHEN YOU SHOULD BE AIMING AT MARTHA!" Asta yelled at Percy.

"For one, my princess' name is Noelle Silva, not Martha. And two," Percy readied another blast, "I will not allow you to harm my princess!" And he fired.

Asta started to dodge, until Liebe told him, use ki, it'll make things much easier. You and I both know I have no idea how to use ki. Doesn't matter, with attacks like these, you only need to know the basics. Just focus. I'll lead you through the beginnings. You couldn't have done it before? Asta sarcastically asks, I actually would have tomorrow.

Whatever, Asta thought. And like that, he dashed towards the man again, sword held low, preparing to strike. And he struck, getting a clean hit on Percy. He tries to counter the obvious attack, but he can't. Why can't I use my magic? Percy asked himself.

After knocking him back, Asta readied for another swing. Until, that is, two giant beams of water shot out at him and Percy. Both hitting their two targets. Both Asta and Percy get knocked back by them. Asta landing on his butt and Percy landing on his face, both getting dragged across the ground due to the sudden stop of momentum.

Asta gets back up. He looks over to Percy, seeing him knocked out. For a stage 4 earth magic user, he went down surprisingly easily. Stage four? THAT surprised Asta. Technically speaking, Asta is a stage 10, but he's also an arcane stage since Anti-magic beats every other magic. The point is, a stage four is above average. Guess all those pushups were for something

Back to Martha, or Noelle little to Asta's knowledge, she was in a big bubble of water, beams shooting out all over the place. Liebe, what's the plan?

Simple. Use ki.

Rage. That was all Noelle could feel as she let her magic consume her body. Rage, wrath and, weirdly, happiness. She was happy that people were dying. She couldn't believe it.

I'm a monster

Noelle thought about those words as she tore up the town, water flooding the town as the civilians ran for shelter, a feutial move as the closest thing to cover would be the rubble of the once peaceful town. Seeing the scared looks on their faces made Noelle think, was all this worth it? Does she really love this?

Before Noelle could answer, she heard a man shout a name. More specifically, "MARTHA"

Noelle turned in that direction, seeing Thomas. He had his grimoire out, sword in hand, shouting at her, "calm down!"

Calm down? CALM DOWN? How could she be calm when she's like this? You know what? Fuck this! Fuck playing nice! Fuck being a victim! FUCK EVERYTHING!

And like clockwork, the water magic that Noelle was controlling, if you could even call it controlling, went wild. As the tentacle shaped water thrashed around the town, although 78% debris makes it more of a gas station than a town, Asta continued trying to get to Martha. To little success, of course.

"Martha! Look at what your-"

Asta, you doing that is just going to make things worse. Liebe told Asta straightly, Like I told you before, use ki!

I already told you I can't do it! At least not perfectly.

For fuck's sake, Licita, why is you're son such a dense pain in the ass? Liebe thought to himself. Then, he came up with an idea.

Liebe calmed himself, speaking in more of a mentor-like tone, you're doing it wrong. You only focus on your hearing. While hearing is important, it's not everything.

But how do I find something with just my eyes and nose?

Glad you asked! I'm going to channel a bit of my power into you! We'll be using ki as a medium.

Oh, okay! So how do we-

Asta was cut off by the surge of power going through his right arm. When he looked down, his arm was colored stark black. There, now you can feel ki. Remember this feeling.

So Asta did just that. He focused on the warm, fuzzy feeling of his arm. Now look at Martha. Try to find that same feeling.

But wouldn't her's be different than yours? I mean, you're a devil and she's human.

Don't worry, I only channeled my ki through you. I didn't give you my actual power.

All right, time to kick some ass!

With that, Asta tried looking for that same feeling with Martha. He found it. Then he sensed it. Or more accurately, them. Her emotions. Anger, spite, wrath, misery. She's... depressed, Asta realized. He snapped out of his trance when he sensed a tentacle coming. He blocked it with his sword's blunt side, thereby reflecting it back towards Martha. Expectedly, it doesn't do a thing to her.

No way am I getting up there without help. Then Asta saw a tentacle thrash some debris, launching the stones everywhere. I guess that's my help.

With that, Asta puts himself out in the open, hoping to get a tentacle to attack him. Like clockwork, he senses a tentacle coming his way. But instead of dodging it, he lets himself get hit by it. Because of this, he went flying towards Martha. With the yell of a warrior, Asta swung his sword, penetrating the bubble. When his sword touched Martha, Liebe activated a link with her, and both him and Asta saw Noelle's past.

And that's where I'm going to end it for today. I'm writing this on the same day that chapter 4 was released, so there's that. But if everything goes according to plan then this will come out around February. Keep in mind that I plan to publish a chapter once a month at least. Combine that with my end goal being 27 chapters, considering the average of me publishing these being around two a month, I'll be done with this fic by end of this year.
