Chapter 29
Raguna POV
"Well then dad, how low have you entered this ruins?" I asked my dad.
"Not very actually, I've been curious about this place, but I never really get around to coming here." Dad replied
"Well then I guess we might as well start off from the beginning." I said and we started walking through the dungeon until we encountered monsters.
The first set of monsters we found was a couple Red Ants and two spawners.
"This is an easy one." Dad said and rushed in.
"Too easy, not even worth a sweat." I added and just watched as he took out the Ants and then broke the spawners with one hit each.
"Do you want to just run through until we make it to a harder area?" I asked dad
"If they can put a better challenge than these two then yes." Dad replied and sheathed his sword
Both of us kept walking taking turns as we took out small sets of monsters that were unavoidable. Once we made it about halfway through the second floor things started getting a little rougher since the spawners were appearing monsters quicker.
"Now we're talking!" Dad yelled and rushed a group of Springs.
"Dad, watch out if they hit you with a white ball it'll inflict some sort of paralysis on you!" I said and then rushed in too.
"What are you talking about? That'll be if they can hit me." Dad said
'Darn it, I lost him. He's in his "battle mode" already' I said to myself
"Come on you wimps!" dad started yelling at the springs and then they all started spitting the small white bag of lightning.
"To the right!" I said signaling my dad to dodge.
Dad moved out of the way and then I blasted a fireball at the smaller electric balls bursting them and avoiding getting affected by the effect. Dad took this chance to close in on the springs and started slashing one after the other. The spawner appeared some springs behind us blocking our way if we wanted to retreat.
"I guess this is where I come in." I said and drew Dueledge. I right away split it into dual blades and started taking out the Springs.
I used some lightning magic with my feet increasing my speed sharply and then charged my swords with fire magic. Simple logic plants are weak against fire right? I started slashing at the springs. I took one out by hitting its head and then I hit another one on the leg and a third one on the weird leaf arm. The ones that were still around started spitting the white balls at me.
'darn it.' I said, I had no time to dodge and got hit by one of them on the leg.
Slowly but surely the paralysis effect spread through my body, thought it wasn't total paralysis but it just slowed me down, too much in fact. I could still slash at then at my normal speed, but I could only walk and only at about a third of my original walking speed.
"Take…This…" I said and took two of them out.
I looked over at my dad and he had defeated his hoard and was on his way to the spawners. Once they were out and no more Springs could show up he rushed over and took out the remaining Springs on my end.
"Getting sluggish son." He said and sheathed his sword
"Not yet. Just hold on for a few seconds, this will come off in a few." I said referring to the paralysis.
After a couple minutes I could move at my normal speed again and so we moved on. We made it quickly to about halfway through the third floor and surely enough we got attacked by; Big Mucks, Hornets, and Cluckys. Dad and I actually started getting pushed back by the monsters. We couldn't reach the Spawners and we were just pointlessly taking out monsters that were soon respawning.
"What do we do now?" Dad said
"This actually happened once to me. I was with Kin so she actually distracted them while I landed the finishing blow and then took out the spawners." I said
"Well Kin's not with us right now. What should we do?" dad asked again starting to get really frustrated by the never ending monsters.
"I have a plan, but I need a bit of time…" I said
"How much?" dad asked
"About two minutes." I said
"I'll get you the time." dad said and then rushed in so I started charging Mana for a special Magic I had thought about a couple days ago.
Dad started everything off by somehow generating fire with his left hand and ramming his fist against a few monsters, right behind the punch he slashed with his sword and a small fire geyser appeared pushing them back a bit. Some more monsters tried to pounce at him and his sword got covered in fire and he used an uppercut slash to fend them off. The monsters kept attacking and he slashed at them trying to take as many as he could out.
"Almost there dad, just a little more." I said
Dad suddenly got blindsided by one of the monsters and lost his balance. He barely was able to catch himself before hitting the ground and retaliate with a quick slash.
"Dad now!" I said and he jumped away from the group of monsters as he saw a ball of fire shoot from my hands.
The fireball traveled quickly to the middle of the monsters and then it burst into an explosion. From the explosion a bunch of lightning appeared to take down whatever monster withstood the primary attack. Dad quickly rushed the spawner and took it out before it brought back any more monsters.
"Are you ok?" Dad asked seeing as I was on my knees.
"Yeah, I guess that attack is still a little too much. How about you?" I finished
"I'll live. Nothing serious." He said and sheathed his sword.
The two of us made it across the rest of the third floor without a problem and soon enough we made it to the boss gate in the fourth floor.
"Ready?" I asked back at 100%
"AS I'll ever be." He said cracking his neck and we approached the Boss gate.
