Chapter 31
Raguna POV
After dad and I had our sparing match we went inside the house and relaxed. Cinnamon tended to dad's wounds and we all had cookies. Uzuki started talking about her experience with the Green Ruin's Boss and after a couple hours of talking and having cookies the time for Uzuki to leave came.
"Do you guys mind if I come to hang out tomorrow too?" Uzuki asked and Cinnamon happily smiled.
"I don't see why not. We'd welcome it gladly." I said and Cinnamon lightly nodded agreeing. Uzuki walked off towards her house. I quickly asked Kin to accompany her just in case.
Cinnamon and I walked back into the house and we decided to turn in early, I guess that school work from earlier made some effect and tired our minds. I was about to walk into my room when Cinnamon grabbed my hand.
"What's the matter?" I asked
"Could you stay with me until I stay asleep" Cinnamon lightly whispered. I couldn't help but smile
"Of course. Why wouldn't I?" I replied and she smiled. We both walked into her room and then she when into the guest room's bathroom to change into her sleeping wear, included in the bag brought to her in the morning.
When Cinnamon stepped out of the bathroom I couldn't help but gasp at what I saw, I mean Cinnamon just looked too cute. Cinnamon was wearing a pair of pink Pajama pants with Pandas as a pattern, she was also wearing a large black T-shirt, it looked like she could wear that as a dress, and the shirt had a picture of a flip-switch and on one side it said "on" the other "off" and was pointed at the "off" side, it also had the words under the picture that said "How my brain Works." Her hair was down and she had removed her glasses.
"You look amazing for someone who's just going to sleep." I couldn't help but say
"T-thank you." Cinnamon replied with a light stutter and she walked over to the bed and sat down on it.
After she placed her glasses, which were in her hand, on the table she got under the blankets and laid comfortably on the bed.
"Good night." Cinnamon said
"Good night. Don't let any nightmares get to you. If you need anything don't hesitate to wake me up." I said and she nodded slightly before closing her eyes and drifting off to sleep.
After a few minutes I noticed she was completely asleep and so I gave her a smooch on the forehead and then walked out of the room. After leaving her room I just went over to my room and went to sleep too. The next thing I remember is lying down on my bed and then blanking out, I guess I went to sleep.
"hmm…" I mumbled as someone lightly shook me awake. It was barely 2AM. "What's the matter?" I asked rubbing the sleep off my eyes and noticed it was Cinnamon "is something wrong?"
"Nightmare." Cinnamon whispered and I noticed she was trembling like a cold child.
"I see…want me to go back with you till you go to sleep?" I asked
"C-c-can I sleep h-h-here?" she asked stuttering.
"Is fine, come on." I said and moved over making space for her to lie down.
Cinnamon slowly sat on the edge of the bed and then slipped into the blankets.
"Is ok. I'll be here with you." I said and we both went to sleep. And again all I remember is blanking out.
The whole night passed quickly, or so it felt because I was asleep, but when I was going to wake up…
"Ra-gu-na…" an ominous voice came from the entrance to my room.
I sat up to look at the source of the ominous voice and I wished I wouldn't have woken up.
"Morning Mr. Kain…" I started nervously yet still very sleepy. "…What brings you here so early in the morning?"
"What brings me here? What brings me here?" he repeated and then he pulled out his trademark Wooden sword.
'I really wish I knew what was going on…' I said to myself and just stood still, not being able to react quickly enough since I was still sleepy I decided to not even bother.
Mr. Kain swung his sword on a direct vertical hit and suddenly his sword just hit…nothing…
"What was that?" he asked
"If I knew I'd tell you…the same about you suddenly attacking me…" I said
"I received this picture a few minutes ago." He said and pulled his phone out and showed said picture.
In the Picture Cinnamon was cuddled up on me and she had her arm over me in a half hug and my arm acted a pillow for her and it wrapped around her in a half hug too. The pic itself could easily be mistaken by everyone.
"She said she had a nightmare at around 2AM and she asked to sleep here. How little of a man would I be to tell her to go Away? I care for her so I let her stay without a second of hesitation." I answered to the picture and then Cinnamon started waking up.
As soon as she woke up completely the sound of glass breaking was heard but nothing made of glass in the surrounding area was broken.
"Morning…" Cinnamon said rubbing her eyes.
"honey, did you set a protection barrier in your sleep again?" Mr. Kain asked
Cinnamon nodded a yes, well that explains Mr. Kain hitting…nothing…invisible barrier…COOL!
"What are you doing here daddy?" Cinnamon asked in a very sleepy voice
"I guess just falling for a bad joke…" he said then turned his face to the door
Both my parents were sticking their heads out from behind the door frame and then slowly hid out from our sight.
"Welcome to my life." I said after sighing and then we were laughing.
Mr. Kain sat on the bed and talked with us for a few minutes, he asked things about Cinnamon's quick progress in recuperating, he also thanked me for helping her this whole time and to be honest I felt really embarrassed from the conversation and praise I kept receiving from Mr. Kain. after Mr. Kain left Cinnamon and I went to the dinning room and had some cereal for breakfast.
"Well then, What do you say we knock out those packets?" I said and Cinnamon just nodded a yes in return.
Again, like yesterday, we worked for a few hours on the Packets and seeing as we were already getting tired from the book work Cinnamon and I decided on going for a walk at the park. we both got ready in about 10 minutes and walked out the door after telling my parents where we were going.
The nicest park in the whole city was just down the street from where I live. the place is huge and has many different sport fields, baseball, Soccer, Football, etc. Back in the time when my great-great grandpa used to live here this park used to just be a Lake, they Called it "Lake Poli". the whole Lake is now fenced so people wouldn't fall in, there is a section of the Lake that is open and they lend small boats, canoes, and let people ride them, surprisingly enough, for free.
Aside from the lake there are many areas to relax. you can actually Dock in one of the islands in the middle of the lake and rest under a Gigantic pink-flowered tree...although during the summer is just a big tree...in any case, the people in Yamato came to this city around the time of my grandfather and officially named it a "Sakura" tree, I believe they mentioned it translated to something like Cherry-Blooms...
Some people flattened out the land around the Lake and the land turned out to be fertile so they planted grass and flowers all over the place and so this place became what it is now, the best public park in town.
Cinnamon and I arrived at the park and were instantly amazed by the light reflected from the lake, the beautiful Sakura trees' petal like leaves hovering all over the place. and the nice breeze that could be felt blowing through the field.
"Come on Cinnamon? where do you want to go first?" I asked and she made a thinking face.
"How about relaxing on the grass. it looks very fluffy and comfortable." she replied
"You said it." I said and right away we started walking thought the grass fields.
after a few minutes of walking we just laid down on the grass and started looking at the clouds.
"Look, that one looks like a bufamoo." Cinnamon said pointing at a big cloud.
"And that one like a wooly." I said pointing at another cloud.
"Watch out!" we heard in the distance and then a ball just bounced and stopped near us.
Cinnamon handed over the ball to a small kid that came running towards us.
"Thank you very much Miss." the kid said with a bright smile on his face.
"You are very welcome" Cinnamon replied and then the kid started walking back to where his dad was.
Cinnamon had a calm expression on her face while looking at the father and child and then noticing a girl that seemed like the mother slightly further from them.
"Is a little early to say anything, but one day that could be us..." I said looking at the sky hoping to hide my blushing face with the sun's bright light.
From the corner of my eye I looked over at Cinnamon and she was blushing too, she kept her face down and her hair blocked her red face. The both of us just stayed on the grass for a few more minutes and then we walked over to the Boat rental. Cinnamon and I borrowed a boat and walked over to the dock to board the borrowed boat. Cinnamon was really nervous the whole time while on the boat.
"You can calm down. If anything happens I'll be here to help you." I said and she nodded in return.
I kept rowing the boat all around the lake and once we did a whole lap around the place we decided to dock at the Sakura tree. I got off the boat first and secured it to the dock, then helped Cinnamon step off and onto the dock.
"This is the first time I see a tree with Pink leaves." Cinnamon said admiring the Sakura tree.
"I know what you mean. I didn't think it possible when Grandma Yayoi talked about pink leaved trees." I said
"Your grandmother's name is Yayoi? That sounds like a name from Yamato." Cinnamon asked very confused
"No, my grandmother's name is Shana. Uzuki's grandma's name is Yayoi. everyone in school that knows her calls her Grandma." I explained
"I see, well I wish I would have heard those stories." Cinnamon said.
the two of us sat down near the trunk of the tree and just saw the leaves fluttering through the air as if made of paper...wait isn't paper made from leaves?
"Yes it is." Cinnamon said
"What?" I asked confused
"Paper is made from leaves." Cinnamon replied. God, I love it when she reads my mind like this.
again we just relaxed and looked at the sky while leaning on the Sakura tree and after a few more minutes of just relaxing Lunch time came. after returning back to the main land and returning the boat we walked back to downtown and stood looking at the different restaurants.
"So, what should we have today?" I asked and looked over to Cinnamon for an answer
"Anything is fine." she said
"What would you like?" I asked again
"you can choose this time." she said
"Well, how about just getting a couple burgers?" I said
"That sounds good." Cinnamon replied and we walked to my favorite Burger stand.
Cinnamon and I walked home after having food and on the way we met up with Uzuki.
"You guys on a date?" Uzuki asked with a bit of a sly smile on her face.
"I guess you could say that." I replied.
"So then how should we spend time today?" Uzuki asked
"What do you think Cinnamon?" I asked
"What's in your bag?" Cinnamon asked Uzuki
"Perceptive." Uzuki said and pulled something out her bag. "I was hoping to Play Dungeon Crawler with the two of you." she added and showed a set of LinkerV2.
"That sounds fine. what do you think Cinnamon?" I asked
"Ok." she said and smiled. we walked back to my place.
Once we arrived we walked straight to my room and we set Uzuki's Linker up so she could play in the same "Server" we were.
"Alright then. I'll lay down here, you two can use the bed." I said handing Cinnamon my LinkerV2.
"Thank you." Cinnmaon said and then we all got ready to Dive into the game.
"Synch." We all said at the same time and we appeared in the first town.
"Alright, ready for adventure?" I asked
"Right." Cinnamon replied
"Where is Uzuki?" I asked
"Wait for me!" we heard in the distance.
A girl wearing light armor holding a Halberd approached us.
"Is that you Uzuki?" Cinnamon asked
"Yeah, since it was another Server I appeared in the main church." she explained
"So then, what level are you? to know where we stand." I asked
"I'm level eight. I've completed almost every quest in the first town" Uzuki replied
""Alright we're not too far behind." I said
"We're level six halfway to seven." Cinnamon said
"How many missions have you passed?" Uzuki asked
"About half of them?" I replied looking at the mission log screen.
"Wow, you guys level quick." Uzuki said surprised
"Well then, let's go. you guys lead the way since you're behind on the missions. I can help you finish them." Uzuki said
"Thank you." both Cinnamon and I said and then we walked to the bulletin board to get a few missions.
"Obliteration missions huh?" Uzuki said reading my mission screen, which I had visible to others.
"Yeah, they're the easiest and quickest to level with." I reasoned.
"Well then, off we go." Uzuki said and we all started walking to a Dungeon.
Jesús: "There we go. chapter done. Sorry for not updating last week as I had promised. I was moving and didn't have a chance to type on this story. you may have noticed I updated my other story but I had a chapter ready before hand and this one wasn't finished yet. in any case, here it is and hope you enjoyed.
