Ch. 43
Raguna POV
I started revisiting all the dungeons I had beet to already. My daily goal was to get through at least two of the three dungeons. And so far, for the past week, I had been succeeding. The part that surprised me the most was that even after working in the aquarium I still had enough energy to go to the dungeon runs…
"It also helps that we only work for about 3 hours a day." Cinnamon said patching up a small cut I got on my face.
"Hehe, I guess. In any case, just remembered I still needed my break time homework done. What do you say we do it together?" I asked
Right when I asked that to Cinnamon, Candy and Marco walked in the door and froze on their tracks. Both their faces went red then turned around and closed the door.
"Sorry for interrupting." Candy's voice was heard on the other end.
Cinnamon quickly walked over to the door and opened it, blushing a deep red of course, and invited her Sister and Marco into the room. After a well deserved explanation, Candy and Marco started laughing for their silliness and then they calmed down.
"So I guess that's a no to our question." Marco said
"What?" Cinnamon and I replied in unison confused because we had no idea what he meant.
"Marco and I wanted to go to the park. If you two came along it would be more fun, but you have homework so I guess it'll have to wait for some other time." Candy said and she and Marco got up and marched out of the room.
"Alright then, I'll go get my things and we can get to work." I said ready to use the return spell to go home quickly.
"Or we could go to your place. We are already at my place so I can just get my things and we can work over there." She suggested
"Or we can do that." I replied as I scratched the back of my head and laughed forgetting we could also do that.
After about ten minutes she picked up her things and let her parents know where she was going to be.
"Ready." Cinnamon said and took my hand.
"Alright then. here goes." I said and light covered the both of us and we warped from her room to my front door.
We walked right in and made our way straight to my room.
"Why didn't you call out you were here like usual?" Cinnamon asked
"Dad was packed with work today at the family farm; harvest day came a little earlier than expected. So He and Mom are helping out harvesting the fields." I replied "Day's like this they don't come back till about 10 PM, but they also bring some of the goods for us to eat."
"That sounds nice. What is the harvest?" Cinnamon asked
"I think is Corn and Tomato." I said as I walked into the kitchen to get some drinks ready for the both of us.
"Should I set my things here or are we studying in your room?" Cinnamon asked
"Here's fine. That way my parents won't get any ideas if they get home early." I replied and placed a cup full of Tropic Punch.
"I believe this is made from your family's crop?" Cinnamon asked
"Yeah, we were lucky and got one plantation of pineapples to grow quickly." I replied "Dad is actually the one who made this."
"Amazing, it tastes so refreshing."
"Alright then, I'll go get my things real quick and we can get started."
I walked to my room and on the way down I turned on the TV in the living room for 'Background noise.' Cinnamon and I started working right away on the homework and about half an hour later…
{We bring an important newscast. A new Dungeon has been spotted. The entrance to this dungeon can be found on the beach's north shore and is highly recommended to stay away from it. Many monsters have been found within the dungeon and they all seem to be very strong and element oriented. Water and Earth magic seems to be useless against them. Currently there is a strike team trying to figure out if it is safe for everyone to enter this dungeon, but so far they've only reported great dangers and have recommended for people to avoid entrance. We will continue to report any news on this…} the news cast agent was heard from the TV
"A new Dungeon huh?" Cinnamon asked
"You think is amongst the connected ones on that 'Door room' I found?" I asked
"There's only one actual way to figure that out, but I'd rather you not go. If it's as dangerous as they saw then you'd be in great danger." Cinnamon said
"I have Kin and Red with me. I'm sure we can handle it." I replied "Besides, I already have Fire, Wind and Lightning magic…"
"You shouldn't use Lightning magic in that kind of place. I'm sure water is leaking around everywhere if not already on the ground. It could en up hurting you more than helping you…" Cinnamon interrupted.
"R-right…" I started thinking about it. 'I won't know exactly how dangerous this place is unless I go there myself. Adults put a label as to how dangerous something is, but sometimes they over exaggerate things.'
"Raguna, at least promise me you'll escape as soon as things get out of hand." Cinnamon said sighing aware she wouldn't talk me out of it.
"I will, but the real question is how am I getting in there…?"
The next morning I was standing at the entrance of the green ruins. Cinnamon told me yesterday to just go there in the morning.
"There you are Raguna." I heard Mr. Kain's voice.
"Hey, what's up? I suppose you're the one I'm meeting up with?" I asked
"Cinnamon told me about that, today is the day off for the research group so I thought I'd help. Besides if I can get some info from those ruins Is a win-win." Mr. Kain said
"And…" I said looking behind him.
"What? I can't stick along?" The Silver-haired, punk Scientist very well known as Dan said
"I don't see why not." I replied "…But then again…"
"Come on. I'm sure you'll need the extra help." The younger brother of said Silver-head said
"You're a fighter Dante?" I asked confused
"Yeah. Mom and Dad wanted both Dan and myself to study for a good career, but as you can tell we had different tastes. He studies Science and all relating to that. I went to military and battle training and became a mercenary on my senior year of High school. After that I joined the Hunting agency and now I work with your Dad." Dante replied
"You work with Dad?" I Asked
"You don't remember me do you?"
"Not rea-" I started and he pulled out his claymore and stabbed in on the ground. Then pulled out his dual handguns. "Wait, you're-"
"We used to play all the time when you were little. More like have friendly sparring matches. I guess besides your dad I'm the other person that helped you learn to fight." Dante said
"I see, alright then I think we'll have a group of Five fighters then." I said
"Excuse me?" the three adults replied
"A friend of mine and my two monster buddies are already waiting at the entrance to the beach." I replied
"Alright then, let's go." Mr. Kain said and we all hoped on to his car. After a few minutes we made it to the entrance of the beach area.
"Brodick! Kin! Red!" I called out to my "Raid group"
"Over here!" Brodick replied and emerged from a group of bushes.
"Why are you all hiding?" Dan asked
"Well, we all have weapons, and nobody is allowed into the dungeon so I figured we'd keep attention away from ourselves." Brodick replied
"Mr. Kain Dan, Dante these are my normal raid Group; Brodick, Red and Kin. Guys these are Mr. Kain, Dan and Dante, they'll be helping us enter and maybe even conquer the dungeon." I introduced everyone.
"You tamed a Minotaur? That's pretty crazy" Dan asked
"Actually, I just rejoined my old Master." Red replied
"What the!" Dan yelped backing away from Red.
"You can talk?" Mr. Kain asked astounded
"Yes. Raguna taught me how to a few hundred years ago." Red replied
"You must be talking about Ragna's Great Grandpa. Well honor to meet you." Mr. Kain said and soon enough we were all walking to the dungeon entrance.
We made it to the entrance in a matter of minutes and there Mr. Kain started talking to the guards posted there to make sure nobody went in.
"Good morning." Mr. Kain called as he got closer
"You're professor Kain Weiss. What's the matter sir?" the guard asked
"I was curious about the inside of these catacombs. I was wondering if it would be possible to allow me and a small group to go in and research for any good finds." Mr. Kain asked. Wow, no wonder he's my dad's best friend. He can surely act…
"Is highly dangerous sir. I'm sorry, but I don't think is safe for anyone to go in just yet." The guard replied bowing his head apologetically.
"I'm sure I'll be safe. Is in fact just me and my right hand man, as well as a battle unit ready for anything." Mr. Kain said and pointed to us, the rest of the group.
"Are you sure? Two of them are children, and two others are monsters." The guard tried reasoning.
"We have been trained properly. I assure that." Dante replied
"As for these monsters, they're my friends. I was able to tame them and become friends with them." I added
"Really?"
"I promise you the safety of the professor as well as the rest of this party's." Red said having kept silent the whole time, and freaking out the guard.
"Well…If you say so…I must say. Most of the area up ahead has water levels of at least one foot depth. Some armor can get really heavy and it can cause problems in battle, is recommended to change into some sort of swim wear or light clothing before going in there. Though I still recommend keeping some armor on."
"None of us wear armor." Brodick said sounding confident in himself.
"Though it would be wiser to change instead of getting completely drenched." Mr. Kain said
We all changed into a lighter set of clothing to go into the dungeon and after a few minutes of making sure we were ready we walked right in.
"Alright, Dante you and the rest go on. Dan and I will stay within these first few rooms and study the dungeon. You make sure everyone stays safe." Mr. Kain said
"Will do. Let's go everyone!" Dante said and off we were…
