This is a short fluff one, but a quick update til I have more time to sit down and write. Thank you for all your reviews!

Chapter 2

It took Roxy about 3 minutes of sniffing around all of Penelope's apartment and sizing up Sergio before she settled on the floor in the living room near Luke's feet. She loved Garcia, but had never been over to her place before, and her tail hadn't stopped wagging the whole time they drove over from Luke's place to her's. Luke set his overnight bag on the ground and sat on the couch petting Roxy on the head while Garcia went to go get her take out menus.

"Okay so we have Chinese, Thai and Indian. And there's pizza of course but I did just have that the other night. Although the vegan breadsticks at the place around the corner are to die for. But the Veggie Pad Thai is great too. And the coconut curry would work really well on a cold day like this." Garcia came back and sat down beside him without breaking her stream of conversation, absentmindedly petting Sergio who was sleeping on the other side of her on the couch. The cat had opened his eyes and regarded Luke and Roxy for about 10 seconds when they'd first arrived, before deciding they weren't interesting enough to interrupt his snooze.

Luke just watched her with amusement. He was always drawn to her when they were at work, especially when she started talking so animatedly about something, but he was careful not to stare too long in a room full of profilers. The last thing he needed was any of them getting the wrong idea, they would never get off his case then. Now, though, he couldn't seem to help himself.

"What?" She finally broke off, noticing him looking at her.

He shrugged, "Nothing."

"No, tell me Newbie. Do you not want Thai? Because I could be persuaded for Chinese, I'm a sucker for those little fortune cookies."

"Thai is good." He was aware that he hadn't stopped staring yet, and he couldn't help but reach for the strand of hair that had fallen onto her face, gently brushing it out of the way as he locked eyes with her.

She looked back at him intently for a moment before shooting up from the couch. "Right, so Thai. Thai it is. Sounds good. I'll go order that now." And she rushed back to the kitchen.

Get a hold of yourself, Garcia. You did not just want to kiss Luke right now. Yuck. He's annoying, remember? And not cute. Not cute at all.

She placed the order but took an extra few moments to collect herself.

It wasn't like Luke hadn't been over at her place before. But… this was the first time that he was here alone, without some of the other members of the team as a buffer.

It only now occurred to her that she had invited him to stay over all weekend. It was what she would have done with any member of the team that needed it. It could have just as easily been Tara or Reid sitting out on her couch right now… so why had her heartbeat quickened when he'd brushed the hair off her face? What had she gotten herself into?

If she was being entirely honest with herself, which wasn't always her policy when it came to Luke Alvez, there had been this tiny part of her that had felt… something when he'd started seeing Lisa. She wanted him to be happy of course, and Lisa seemed perfect for him, but another even tinier part of her had felt something entirely different when she heard from Matt that they weren't seeing each other anymore.

She had peppered Luke with questions asking what had happened, but he was always a closed book when it came to his personal life. No amount of trying to convince him to spill the details, not even trying to bribe him with the specialty doughnuts he liked from the bakery across the city, had worked. As far as she knew, he hadn't dated anyone else in the month since. Not that she had been keeping tabs or anything.

Luke watched her rush out of the room to place their food order. He could tell he'd flustered her, and he smiled as Roxy cocked her head up at Garcia's sudden movement.

He had always been intrigued by her. From the beginning, it had seemed like she wanted nothing to do with him, but that feeling had always been one-sided. And although she'd eased up with her iciness towards him over time, the sarcastic comments had never stopped. She was always so cool and collected, ready with a lightning fast retort no matter what he said, so it amused him to see that he had broken her perfect indifference this one time.

Although… he had to admit that there was more to it than just that. He had reached up to brush that hair aside on instinct, but it wasn't until he'd done it that he realized he hadn't actually wanted to take his hand away. Luke pushed the thought away as Garcia came back into the room.

"Okay, so do you want to start from the beginning or from where I'm at, because I'm currently re-watching season 3 and it's getting to the part where Jim and Pam get together and that's just the best," she sat down and clicked on the TV before turning to him.

"I'm not picky. Where do you want to watch from?"

"Oh I'm easy…" she began to say before her eyes widened as she caught his expression, "shut up. Shut up. That is not what I meant!" She tossed a cushion at him and loaded the show.

"Who's Packer again? And why do we not like him?"

Penelope let out a long breath. They had been watching for a couple of hours, the food mostly finished on the coffee table in front of them, and this hadn't been Luke's first question. "First of all, who hasn't seen the Office? Really, Newbie? You have fallen in my good graces. And don't you think when I asked you if you wanted to start from the beginning or where I was, it would've been a good time to mention that you haven't actually watched the show?"

Luke laughed and shrugged, unbothered as ever, "I don't watch much TV."

"And what exactly do they do on the alien planet you're from then?"

"Alien planet? That's a new one." He laughed.

"Answer the question, Newbie."

"I… work out, hang with Roxy, hang with Phil… you know."

"Oh that is sad. That is so so sad, Luke Alvez."

Suddenly, her phone buzzed on the coffee table. He was shocked to see how fast her mocking expression changed to one of concern as she quickly grabbed it.

Penelope hastily opened her messages, hoping Carlos had finally gotten back to her. But it wasn't him, it was JJ. So what did Carlos want last night? Everything okay?

She typed back a quick All good and set her phone back down.

"Is everything okay?" Luke's expression had changed to a serious one as well as he regarded her with concern.

"What? Yeah, everything's fine. It was just JJ. But now, Newbie, now everything is great, because we are starting the show from the beginning again and I get to properly introduce you to the joys of this little thing called binge watching."
