Hi It's Themusicmaniac again!

I decided the first chapter didn't have enough story in it, so I decided it would be best to post the second.

Enjoy!

I face planted on my bed the moment I got to my dorm room. I groaned as I turned to face the ceiling.

"What a week." I said to myself as I sprawled out on my bed.

I couldn't even think. I just needed to clear my head. My work had overpowered anything else, and while it was good work, I needed time to just. Be.

That was when I felt it.

Something was wrong.

I sat up and stared behind me as a glowing red portal opened up on the wall behind me. I had no idea to even process what was happening as I was pulled through along with several of my papers.

I landed on a pristine white metal floor, and looked up.

The room was dark, and a large figure was standing next to… a control panel?

Where… Where was I?

I attempted to stand up and immediately fell to the floor. I stared at my hands and noticed that they were different. They were feathery?

I stared at my feet, which were still in my shoes, but seemed bigger than my feet normally were. My torso was smaller, and my mouth?

I took my hands and felt where it should be, but I ran into something first. It was flat, and hard. I felt along it until I found a line where it ran into my face.

It was a beak.

I wasn't human anymore.

By now, the figure ran to the light at the end of the room.

"Dr. Waddlemeyer!" He said, as the lights went on and I squinted from the light adjustment. "Dr…" He trailed off as his eyes met mine.

He looked familiar. He was a large bull wearing a white lab coat, and stood at least three times my size.

"And who might you be?"

"Valerie Smith." I replied, trying to stand up, "And may I ask where I am?"

"You are at McDuck Labs." He paused, "At least the St. Canard location."

"Mc-Mc-McDuck Labs?" I stammered as I stared at him, "As in Scrooge McDuck?"

"Curious. You've heard of Scrooge McDuck?" He asked, looking a bit confused.

"Yes? Could you direct me to a mirror? I get the feeling I'm not what I was before." I said slowly, still staring at him.

"Can you even get up Valerie?" He offered an arm to me as I tried to stand up.

"Yeah…" I said, as I grabbed onto his arm and leveraged myself up onto my feet. "What's your name anyway?"

"Taurus Bulba, but you can call me Taurus." He laughed, but I stopped in my tracks.

Taurus Bulba.

Taurus Bulba, like Darkwing Duck Taurus Bulba? Like the one that tried to kill Gosalyn by throwing her off an airship. Like the one that tried to get the secret code to the Ramrod?

That Taurus Bulba?

"Is something wrong?" He asked, as I struggled to get my bearings.

"Yeah." I said, looking up at him. "I just… I'm not in California anymore am I?"

"No." He replied. "In fact, you are in…"

"Another Dimension?" I finished, and he looked at me with surprise on his face.

"How did you know?" He asked, grabbing my hand and walking me up the stairs to his office.

"There's…. Some similarities between this universe and my own." I said shakily as he sat me down in his office chair.

He left his office a minute later, supposedly to get tea and a mirror, but I don't trust him. Waddlemeyer was his old partner, and Gosalyn's grandfather. In Darkwing Duck, Waddlemeyer died in an accident. He was looking for Waddlemeyer, so this may be that accident? So, if this was that accident, there was a chance that Waddlemeyer was alive and in another dimension.

Another dimension. I was stuck in an alternate Darkwing Duck dimension.

This is absolutely unreal.

But… the machine that he used… was it the ramrod?

It wasn't the one from the series for sure. The older version of the ramrod could just make things float. This one… could take people out of dimensions.

That was so much more dangerous. I turned to the window.

There were no color controls on it either. Interesting.

There was a key inserted in it. That may be how it works.

I turned back to the door.

What now?

I don't trust Bulba at all. He was a villain in the old series, and while he could be a regular scientist, I haven't seen him search well or long for Waddlemeyer. He also seems to be thrown off by the fact that I know more than I should. I need to be careful about that too.

I saw his shadow in the door as he keyed the code in. Now that I think about that… I don't really want to be trapped in here with him either.

"Tea?" I nodded slowly and took the cup that he handed me.

"I also found a mirror. I wanted to wait for you to put it on the desk just in case your appearance is… shocking to you." I put my cup on the table as I took the mirror he gave me in both hands and nearly dropped it.

I was a duck! I had a long yellow beak and shoulder length white hair. My eyes were still heterochromatic, but were pie eyes like cartoon characters. Yet, objects, food, and my own skin felt like they normally should in my dimension.

"Oh…." I said as I took in my new appearance.

"Shocking isn't it?" He said as I shakily handed him the mirror. "It's going to take a couple of days for the Ramrod to power back up, so I'm not going to be able to send you home."

"What?" I said, my eyes widening. "What am I supposed to do for two days?"

"You may stay in the lab." Bulba said warmly. "I'll find a place for you to sleep and a change of clothes. There is a bathroom near the end of the hall that you can use if you need to."

I was taken aback for a minute. He was actually being… really nice. I expected him to be much meaner, but he was offering to at least take care of me for a couple of days.

I took a sip from the cup of tea.

"That's really nice of you. Thank you Taurus." As I took another sip of tea, I noticed something in the bottom of the mug. It was… It was… I looked back up at Taurus' smiling face as the world around me blurred and turned from clarity to color and from color to black.

"Welcome to St. Canard Valerie." Were the last words that I heard from Taurus Bulba before I slipped into unconsciousness.
