Hi Everybody! I have decided to officially make my posts on Saturdays!

I hope that a little story can take some attention from all the negative stuff that's out there right now. This chapter is a little long;) Please remember to stay hydrated and prioritize your mental health this week.

tompotter38: Thanks again for the review! The canon divergence will come into play later. Second comment... spoilers:) The differnces of the characters is on of the msot challenging and fun parts of writing this story. I think that the possible Bonkers/Starling route would be an interesting road to go down later, when I hopefully get to the point where they meet Negaduck. Hopefully that can be a starting point for some connections with Bonkers and Drake, as neither got far in the industry. I will wait until the season finale to address the FOWL/McDuck rivalry, as I am interested in seeing how DW gets involved, if he does. Valerie says that this problem is one she experiences every time she meets a new character.

SciFiGirl253: I love Bonkers! I watched his show about a year ago for the first time and loved it! I feel that the concept of Toontown is a very underused property. We'll see about the Ramrod. Thank you for the encouragement!

Guest: Thanks! And you'll see;)

Hope you all stay safe and enjoy!

"Beakway Avenue is a couple of blocks from here." Bonkers said, as I yawned and stretched my arms to the sky.

"Ah!" I brought my injured arm down immediately, and held it gingerly with my other hand.

"Are you okay?" Bonkers asked.

"Yeah, I just forgot I injured my arm while falling off that building." I said, continuing to walk.

"Someone should look at that."

"I know." I said as I looked ahead, "But this is more important. I need to find somewhere safe."

"At least let me take care of it." Bonkers had taken out a colorful handkerchief, the kind that a clown would use to pull out nowhere.

I smiled and knelt down. He took my arm and made a makeshift sling with the bandana.

"There." He said, tying the knot. "That should hold until we get to Dr. Waddlemeyer's house."

"Thanks, Bonkers." I said, standing up.

"My pleasure! You know, helping people is what I do." He smiled and tipped his hat. We both laughed a little and continued walking down the street.

That's when I spotted someone coming our direction. I couldn't see him at first, but I saw that he was wearing a white suit. I jumped a little bit, and if Bonkers noticed, he didn't say anything. As the figure got closer, I almost stopped in my tracks.

This figure was a rooster, far taller than I was. He was slightly shorter than Bulba, but not by much. He was wearing a white suit, which I wrote off as soon as I had seen that he wasn't Bulba, but that was not super unusual.

The real red flag was his metal beak. He was walking casually towards us and seemed to be paying us no mind, but I knew otherwise.

"Uh, Bonkers." I said, as the distance closed between us and Steelbeak. We were about 100 feet away.

He seemed to be distracted with a...talking pencil he had in his pocket?

"Bonkers" I said more urgently, as we were getting closer.

"Not now, Valerie, we're trying to figure out if Fall-a-part Rabbit's day off was Tuesday or Wednesday."

"Bonkers." I said with a more urgent tone.

"Strange to see a gal like you out this late at night." Steelbeak said as he finally approached us. Bonkers' attention slowly rose from the pencil and up to Steelbeak.

"I could say the same about you." I replied. "I suppose you're Steelbeak?" Steelbeak seemed taken aback by this statement. From what I remember, Steelbeak was fairly intelligent in the Darkwing Duck TV show.

"Wait, how do you know my name?" Steelbeak asked.

"She knows YOUR name too?" Bonkers asked. "Weird."

"I overheard Bulba calling FOWL while I was in the vents." I explained. "And I suppose you're sent here to get me."

"Actually, I can do whatever I want as long as I get rid of you. FOWL High Command never specified." Steelbeak said satisfactorily.

"So there IS a super secret organization!" Bonkers yelled and pointed at Steelbeak.

"Yeah there is!" Steelbeak thought for a few seconds before a look of realization came over his face. "But you're not supposed to know about that. Now I guess that I'll have to get rid of BOTH of you!" He lunged for me and Bonkers and I jumped to either side of him.

Steelbeak had to endeavor to pull his beak out of the sidewalk.

"Eggmen! Get them!" He yelled.

I whipped around to see two Eggmen coming out of the bushes and a car near us. Quickly glancing behind me, I noticed two more advancing from Bonker's side: we were outnumbered.

One of the eggmen grabbed my free wrist. I ripped it out of his hand and shouldered him into the other Eggman, who was aiming a shot at me. His raygun shot instead at Steelbeak, who had just stood up, and ricocheted off of his beak and towards Bonkers.

Bonkers ducked and the shot hit the Eggman behind him.

He then pulled a gigantic hammer out of his pocket and said, "I guess it's time to crack some eggs!" before hitting the other Eggman on the head with the hammer.

I was struggling with the Eggmen that had come at me. I had gut-punched one, but while my hand was throbbing I had to dodge a punch from the other.

Steelbeak came behind me and grabbed me by the front of my jacket. I was kicking and struggling, but there was no way that I could hit him from where he was holding me out.

"You have no idea how angry I am right now." Steelbeak growled, lifting me up in the air.

"Yeah?" I was able to get out. "How… angry...are-" I broke into a coughing fit, unable to get anything else out.

"I think that it's time you took a swim with the fishes, if ya know what I mean."

"No!" I yelled in a raspy voice as I swung my body as hard as I could to try to hit his face. It didn't work. "I won't let you."

That was right about when a giant hammer hit Steelbeak in the head. I saw his eyes roll into his head and felt his grip go slack and scrambled to get his hand off my collar and out of the way of his body.

"And Whack-a-mole!" Bonkers said, hefting the hammer behind his shoulder.

"Where did that come from?!" I said, a bit surprised.

"Oh, the gag shop on the other side of town."

"St. Canard has a gag shop?"

"Yeah. It's mostly for actors, but after a while in this line of work, I just found that was my style." He held a hand to the side of his mouth and said, "Besides, I've got connections that give me discounts."

"Okay, but where do you-"

It was at this moment that one of the Eggmen started to stir. My eyes widened and Bonkers grabbed my wrist and started to run down the street. We ran 5 blocks and turned a couple of corners before we were breathing heavy and leaning against a wooden fence.

"Whew. That was close." Bonkers said, wiping his forehead.

"Why…" I breathed, "Didn't you… call for backup?"

"They wouldn't have gotten there on time." Bonkers said solemnly. "We were outnumbered in a minute, and if I didn't act immediately, we would be dead."

We stared at the sky for a minute before I heard some voices around. I nearly jumped into a nearby bush, and Bonkers followed.

"If we don't find that girl, FOWL's gonna have it in for me for sure." Steelbeak was complaining. "Search the entire neighborhood if you have to. They can't escape."

"What now?"

"Same plan." I looked like Bonkers as if he was crazy. Well, more crazy than he is, I guess. "I believe your story. We need to report this to the station, and get you to safety."

The Eggmen moved on to the next block over and we came out of the bushes. Bonkers took out what looked like an Iphone with a "W" on it. "Waddle maps say we only have a few blocks left. Let's go!" He pointed towards the end of the street.

"Bonkers wait!" I grabbed his shoulder, "We need to be careful. What if Dr. Waddlemeyer or his family are there."

"Hmmm…" He ruminated in thought for a second, "We'll just have to be sneaky about it then! Like the ninjas in that movie I saw last night!"

"Bonkers we aren't-" He pulled me into the shadows, and we made the rest of the way to Dr. Waddlemeyer's house by waiting, listening, and hiding in the shadows.

"There it is." Bonkers said, as we hid in the bushes in front of Dr. Waddlemeyer's house. I yawned.

"Hey Bonkers?" I asked, yawning again, "What time is it?"

"About 3 in the morning, why?"

"Isn't it rude to knock on someone's door at three in the morning?"

"Well if he isn't there, we won't have to worry about it."

"But what if someone is?"

"We apologize and go to the police station."

I took in a deep breath and let it out. "Let's do this."

We scanned our surroundings one more time before we walked to the door of the house and knocked. Bonkers then proceeded to ring the doorbell multiple times.

"Dr. Waddlemeyer, are you there!"

We waited a minute before Bonkers rang the doorbell again.

"Well, I guess that we should go before Steelbeak finds us again." I sighed.

Then the door slammed open.

"WHY are you ringing my doorbell at three in the morning!"

She was a little shorter than me, wearing a purple shirt with a white number "one" on it. She had curly red hair that was pulled into a ponytail and dark feathers.

Her green eyes pierced through my soul, and I immediately knew that she had spirit.

It was Gosalyn Mallard in the flesh.

She was much older than I thought she'd be. I didn't expect her to be Latina, but that did not change her fiery red hair, sporty appearance, or the attitude that she was wearing on her face even now.

"Uh…" I was lost for words, and very tired at this point. Bonkers stepped forward and said, "Is Dr. Waddlemeyer here?"

Gosalyn's eyes widened, and she moved to close the door.

"WAIT!" I said, putting my foot in the doorway. "I know about the Ramrod! Something… something bad happened."

Gosalyn stopped at this.

"I'm from another dimension. A freak accident whisked me here and Bulba tried to keep me in the labs. I escaped, but…"

"But…"

"I'm still not safe out here."

Gosalyn stopped to think for a second. "How do I know I can trust you?"

"I don't know how he trusts me." I jabbed a finger towards Bonkers, who let out an indignant "Hey!" I let out a sigh. "Just… look. I don't know where else to go. When I got into this dimension, Dr. Bulba was looking for a Dr. Waddlemeyer and I thought we should start there. Also…" I stopped. I don't know if I should talk about the T.V. show here. Not yet, anyway.

"Also?"

"I'm tired."

"Alright, come in." Gosalyn said, "But you've got to promise me two things: Number 1.) You are going to tell me everything you know about Bulba. And Number 2.) You help me get my Grandpa back."

"I promise." I said. "By the way, what's your name?"

"Gosalyn Waddlemeyer. Yours?"

"Valerie Smith." I held out my hand and she hesitantly shook it.

"Now that I have the two of you acquainted, I'm gonna go make a report at the police station." Bonkers said, saluting us.

"But you didn't acquaint us." Gosalyn said, using finger quotations when she said "acquaint."

I smiled. "Bonkers?" I asked, as he backed down the driveway.

"Valerie?" He mimicked, tilting his head.

"Don't forget our promise."

"I'll call you tomorrow afternoon and let you know how things are going at the police station."

"Goodnight!"

We both watched him sleep and Gosalyn let me into the house, locking the door multiple times behind her. I looked at my surroundings. The Waddlemeyer's house was small, but it was cozy. It almost reminded me of the Mallard's house from the old series.

I glanced at the locks.

"On edge?" I asked, as she went to a cupboard in the hallway and pulled out some blankets.

"Grandpa… hasn't come back yet." She sighed. "I don't know what's going on, I assumed that he was just working a lot on the Ramrod. But… the fact that Bulba was looking for him is a bad sign."

I sat on the couch and yawned. "Yeah." I went to stretch my arms, but saw the colorful sling that Bonkers had made for me and was reminded of everything that happened that night. "Ow."

"What's wrong with your arm?"

"Fell from a building."

"WHAT?"

"Taurus Bulba didn't exactly let me out of the lab."

"Okay… I knew he was very secretive with the Ramrod, but…" Gosalyn put the blankets on the couch. "Grandfather's worked with him for years. I'm sure he'd have a good reason for it."

She glanced at a picture on the wall. It was of Bulba, Dr. Waddlemeyer and Gosalyn. They all looked really happy together.

"I'm not so convinced after what he did to me…" I said. Gosalyn looked at me solemnly.

"You… you should get some sleep."

"You're right." I said, grabbing the blankets, and arranging them so that I could sleep.

"We'll talk in the morning." She walked towards the hallway. "Oh, and if you need the bathroom, it'll be the first door on your left."

"Night, Gosalyn." I said as I snuggled into the couch.

"Night, Valerie." Gosalyn said, walking to her room.

This chapter was one of the most fun and challenging to write. From writing about cartoon physics to introducing Gosalyn, this chapter introduces a lot that I love about this world.

Have a happy week everyone!
