Of hot cocoa, cherry popsicles, Skype calls in the middle of the night and the bright, bright lights of the city/or rather, growing up and watching your life unfold under the skyline in a series of long cab rides and dark subway cars, your eyes glassy and dark and cloudy, finding yourself and falling in love. LucasMaya. Oneshot.

Maya and her mother move down South for a better life. Whatever came after those specific 9 days of rushed, uncared for planning is meant to last a lifetime.
