Chapter 119: Kakashi vs Fayre
Flashback Began- Age 784, October 10- Konohagakure, Land of Fire- With Fayre
Fayre hopped on the branch one after one. He refused to stay at the guardroom when he could do nothing but waiting for more children to fall to their causalities. He refused to obey the Sandaime Hokage's command. Yondaime Hokage would have understood him better than that bastard old geezer!
His rage began to build up. He couldn't believe that Sandaime Hokage assembled the control when they had the Yondaime Hokage here. He also could not believe that the Sandaime Hokage ordered them to retreat instead of fighting for the village like they should have. So why were all the young shinobi to stay and not fighting?
He refused to be a coward! He would rather to die a martyr than be a coward and be guilt for the rest of his life because he obeyed the Sandaime Hokage, in which had allowed more children to die. He would not have allowed that.
"Fayre!" A voice shouted faraway.
Ugh, just when he needed to have his best friend to chase after him! Knowing his best friend, he probably would try to force him to go back to the guardroom. Ian jumped one after one on the branch, chasing after him.
"Ian…" Fayre sighed. "Go back. You're still a chuunin. This is no place for you."
"This isn't place for you, either! You're a chuunin, too!" Ian shot back. "Besides, you're supposed to obey the Sandaime Hokage. Do you know what happens when you disobeyed him?"
"Hn…" Indeed, Fayre was still a chuunin. But he should have been a jounin by now, due to his level of skills. But the Hokage said he was not eligible for the promotion to a jounin because he was unable to get over the fact that Kakashi 'killed' his brother, in which he never did.
Ian groaned. It was going to be hard, since Fayre was too damn stubborn. Once he made up his mind, he would do it. He'd have to come up with the idea so that's way he could have prevented him from going even further. If he recalled, Fayre had his new goal, and that was to become the Hokage in order to honor his late brother.
"Once he found out that you disobeyed him, you will be stripped of being a ninja, and you will become a civilian. Probably having the Hyuuga to disband your chakra permanently, so you can be as normal as every civilian. What's more, when the Uchiha found out that you're stripped from the ninja entirely, there's going to be outrage disruption between the Uchiha and the Konoha Council, possibly involving the Hyuuga in this. The disruption between them would surely ensue the Fourth Shinobi World War if you chose to disobey the order. Which that would be the last thing you wanted in your lifetime, right?"
Fayre scowled. He knew Ian was right. He never wanted to see another Shinobi World War ever again. Ever since the Third Shinobi World War ended, the war caused the problem of his traumatization, and that he could not bring it down. That war was the reason of his brother's death and his permanently traumatization. But what do he have a choice? Either, having his ninja rank stripped entirely because he chose to save the children instead of obeying the order of the Sandaime Hokage, or allowing more children to die unnecessarily, because he HAD to follow the order? Fourth Shinobi World War or not, he would rather to choose the first option, so he would not feel the guilty trip over him for the rest of his life.
'Damn, he's still not listening.' Ian thought, observing his best friend. Usually, his talk would get through that stubborn mind of his, but this time, Fayre refused to listen no matter what. "Being not able to become the Hokage you'd dream for the sake of your late brother would be the worst thing ever you'd have in your life, wouldn't it?"
"Shut up! If I had a choice between saving the children's life and letting them to die so I can become the Hokage! That's not something Obito-niisan would sacrifice the children's life in order to become the Hokage. So I'm going to save them… NO MATTER WHAT!" Fayre just made a vow statement.
If Obito was alive—He clenched his fist at the thought of his late brother—he would have chosen 'saving the children' rather than 'becoming the Hokage'. He only wished that Obito would have been alive, but no, he just had to go and die in the war anyways.
"Huh?" Ian glanced around the forest. He just realized that they were heading towards the outside of the Konohagakure. "What do you mean 'saving the children?' All the children you're going to save is over there!" He pointed over the yonder on his left. A lot of lights across the forest could be seen from far away.
Fayre gritted his teeth. "I know…"
It seemed that Fayre was trying to get out of Konoha, despite making a statement that he would save the children. What was his intention?
Ian frowned. 'Is he trying to become a missing-nin? By any chance, did he take this chance to flee the Konohagakure in order to become the missing-nin?' He got no choice but to follow his best friend along, to see why they were approaching the West Gate of the Konohagakure. At that time, no one was guarding due to the presence of the Kyuubi that was attacking the village.
Sure enough, as Ian had assumed correctly, they were just exiting the Konohagakure, but it was hard to tell if Fayre had no intent to leave the Konoha, as they were making a little left turn. They would hop tree to tree on way to Fayre's destination. But it looked like Fayre was rushing over there.
Just few more kilometers away, and Ian finally had it enough.
He sighed desperately. He really wanted to know what's going on with Fayre so badly. "Tell me… Where are we going? For every second, as we stray away from the village, the sight of Konohagakure started to become smaller and smaller! What're you planning to do?! You're going to be missing-nin by the time the Hokage found out about your whereabouts! You still have a chance, so come ba—"
"No…" Fayre interrupted him calmly. "Even this far away from the Konohagakure, this is the area of radius—which is the same scale as the Konohagakure—that could be wiped out by the Kyuubi. The area of radius of the Konahagakure is 25km (About 15 miles). By my calculation, if this very far away from the Konohagakure, the Kyuubi is on the rampage right now, and he randomly fires that attack that he used with that earlier over there, precisely at the area where we are in right now… When the Yondaime Hokage sent that dark purple energy of sphere past the mountain and the scale of explosion could be about equal or more than the area of radius 25km!
"That's why I won't allow that to happen if the Kyuubi should fire that attack over here. The destination is about 1km away from here right now. We should be there soon. That's the same children I'm going to save is very good friend of mine! They're 10 and 8 years old boy and girl, living with their grandparents in the farmhouse over there. I always visited them every day and night. I came over there to help them with their farm. Cutting grasses, milking the cows, feeding horses, helping their grandpa to wed out the weed, and cleaning the water in the well. Obito-niisan and I have been friends with them since I was 5 years old.
"When I was five years, after completing so many D-rank along with my two other teammates, we had our first C-Rank mission. A mission was to protect the farmer from any kind of bandits who came after the farmer's head, so we were there to protect them. At that times, I met kids who was nearly about my age. We became friends during that time. After that mission, I introduced Obito to them. We agreed that we'd come to visit them every week… with the approval of Hokage of course.
"But until after the war, the Hokage banned me from going there anymore, because he believed I just lost my privileges by trying to kill Kakashi, and that he believed I was very danger to go beyond the wall by myself alone. I haven't seen them for a year. Even worse, they had no idea that Obito passed away a year ago! That's why I have to move them very far away from the Konohagakure to prevent them being killed by a blast! Look, you're my best friend. But I will not hesitate to kill you, if you're going to get in my way just because you have to obey all the order of the Hokage all the times. If I have to follow the Hokage's order all the times, direct order or not, that would make me worse than a scum! I'd rather to disobey the Hokage and be a scum for the rest of my life!"
There was no word for it. All Ian could do was to amaze at his best friend's back, while they were hopping tree to tree. 'This guy… Despite his disobedience towards the Hokage, given his current position here, he'd rather to disobey the Hokage and leave the village in order to save his friends, even if it means risking his future position as the Hokage."
"All right." Ian smiled. "You know what? Let's saving your friends!"
Fayre's mouth curled up into a grin. "I knew you'd say that! Yeah, let's saving my friends!"
Just few more kilometers, they had finally arrived upon their destination. There was just a big farm over there where most cows and horse lived in, with a medium-size barn, and the house. The first thing they did was to land next to the door. They did not need to knock the door. It was locked at that moment, so they kicked it open and barged im. They did not have time to knock and have a nice cup of tea with them, because at this moment, their life could be terminated anytime.
But the search did not last longer.
They found the family in the kitchen, who just started a dinner recently, until they heard the loud noise that Fayre and Ian had made. They simply came into the kitchen and started grabbing two kids, who were startled by their sudden appearance.
"Fayre!" Kids' Dad stood up, shouting at him. "What's going on?! Why are you suddenly coming in here out of blue and grabbing them like that?!"
Their Dad did not like this. He did not like when their dinner was interrupted. It was their traditional dinner. Every year on October 10, they would have a peaceful dinner, dedicated to only and only one family alone. Of all day, Fayre chose this day to show up without an expectation, and even worse, they had not seen him for a year. It was very rude to barge in when they hadn't seen him for very long times. Friends or not, he must show some respect.
"It's rude to interrupt our traditional dinner!" Their Mom shouted at him before he could have a chance to open his mouth. The woman was still sitting on the end of the table.
What's up with October 10, of all day, they chose? Was it holiday for them that Fayre never knew? But it did not matter anymore. Their life is in perilous right now!
Instead of struggling off Fayre's grasp, the girl immediately hugged him and cried happily, "Fayre-san! I'm so happy to see you again! I missed you!"
"Fayre! Where have you been for a year?! And where is hell is Obito?! He still owes me one!" The boy impolitely chewed off the turkey meat that he just took from the plate before Fayre pulled his arm away.
"I'll explain it to you later, but right now, we have to move out of here as soon as possible!" Fayre tried to reassure them.
"No." Dad quickly denied the request. "No matter what the threat we may face; we WILL NOT leave the farm!"
"How stupid are you really?! The farm is no longer your concern. It's your life that concerns you, and your children! C'mon! Let's go!" As he turned around, he just realized that their parents would not listen to him.
"Sorry, we cannot." Dad shook his head. "We took the oath when we were five years old. Do you know what the oath we took? Do you know what the oath we took for every generation since our ancestor first took the oath that created for us?" He walked to his daughter, as he kneeled next to her, placing his hand on her head. "Ran… Do you still remember the oath you took when you were five years old? What is our motto?"
Ran nodded excitedly, as she stood up straight to Fayre, who was scowling in annoyance. "Our farm dies, we die!"
"And Conan…"
Conan sighed, chewing another meat of a turkey, as he shallowed before replying. "On the oath, we swore to protect the farm until we die."
Dad nodded. "Thank you, Conan." He placed his hands on his son and daughter's shoulder, staring at Fayre with a stern look. "Whether you like it or not, we're going to stay. Be there a bandit, a shinobi, or even a monster, we will not leave when the farm is facing the threat."
"Not even the Kyuubi?!" Fayre shot back.
"WHAT?!" Mom cried. She stood up with the shock on her face, slamming her hand on the table, making a noise that attracted everyone to her. Fear carved into her face. "The Kyuubi?!"
Ran was in lost right now, as she had no idea who or what the Kyuubi was, but she had a feeling that it was not good. This Kyuubi sounded like it was very dangerous. Conan was still chewing the meat of a turkey, like there was not a care in the world. Dad remained stoic, simply locking his eyes into Fayre's scowl eyes.
"The Kyuubi is attacking the Konohagakure, as we're speaking right now." Ian calmly declared, and made a statement with very bold next. He stood by the window, staring the outside through the window. You could even see the Kyuubi very far away from here! He was so big that you could not miss. "If you want to be rescued, now this is the time. Otherwise, we'll grant you your foolish request, as we leave this farm once you make a decision."
"What?!" growled Fayre.
Conan, and Ran ran to the outside and opened their mouth widely in shock to see the Kyuubi who was still terrorizing the Konohagakure. Even though they could not see the Konohagakure, they somehow knew that the Kyuubi was on rampage against the village.
"That's the Kyuubi?" wondered Ran.
"That's the legendary Biju we've heard about many times. It was most dangerous in the world. It was said that a single tail could demolish the mountain alone!" explained Conan.
Fayre, Ian, Dad, and Mom joined Conan and Ran outside, watching the Kyuubi that was destroying the Konoha. Fayre sighed, never leaving his eyes off the Kyuubi. "You see? Kogoro, it should change your mind. Don't assume for a second that the Kyuubi will not come here. But he will. At some point, he will randomly fire that attack, and this place, of all place, happens to be the target. If you still refuse to move out, you will die with your farm."
"He's right." Mom agreed, "Regardless of oath we took, I do not wish us to die if we cannot protect the farm from the likes of that monster. For sure, it's going to destroy the farm if it happens to look that way, and there's physically impossible we can protect one!"
"No, Eri." Kogoro denied stubbornly.
'Damn, he's so stubborn! Not even the Kyuubi that can change his mind!' Fayre groaned inwardly. He did not anticipate that it would be such a difficult to convince them to escape their possible fate. He would never come here if he did not think they would meet their end very soon. Just that he had a bad feeling about it, that's all. He desperately wanted to save them so badly. He could not lose more people. "So you're perfectly content with your children getting caught in an explosion?!"
"Look, I don't like this any more than you, but I have to honor the oath we've made! For every child that was born and took an oath when they're 5 years old, and for every wife or husband we've taken when they were married. This is the best farm Land of Fire have so far. Land of Fire needs us, and Konoha needs us. Daimyo needs us. Our ancestor first took an oath to the witness, and that was Daimyo of Land of Fire. Without this farm, they will be in dire situation. They would have starved to death, if it was not for us. We will not leave whether you like it or not. Besides, even if we've agreed to your rescue, it's too late anyways."
Before Fayre could argue, Ian's simple two words caught him by a surprise. "He's right."
"What?!" Fayre glanced over his shoulder at his best friend in shock. Did Ian just say that Kogoro was right after all? Was he going to let them to die? Did he have no feeling for these farmers? Fayre could not believe that his best friend would give up on convincing them easily.
"He's right about too late. The Kyuubi just disappeared out of thin air," announced Ian. He was right. Fayre realized that the Kyuubi he was able to see just disappeared. He began to wonder where or how possibly the Kyuubi could have gone without not being seen. Then realization hit him. Apparently, realization also came to Ian. "Hokage-sama transported him somewhere."
"What?!" cried Fayre. What could that mean? Did the Hokage transport the Kyuubi to the place very, far, far away from the Konohagakure? If so, that would mean he still had a chance to get these farmers escape, should they change their mind. But… "Where is the Kyuubi?!"
Ian immediately pointed his finger over the yonder very far away from them. "In about 20 kilometers away from here…"
Fayre's face paled, his eyes widened and his sweats were heavy than it normally would be. "D-D-Did you say 20 kilometers?!" He always trusted Ian. There would be never a moment where he'd suspect him. Everything Ian said was always true. Ian never lied, and he was never joking around when it came to situation like this one. His best friend had an ability to sense a chakra everywhere on this planet no matter how far they were. That would mean…
"We're too late." It was almost as if Ian could read his mind. "We're all going to die. At any given time, he's going to launch that Biju bomb soon."
Speak of devil, the biju bomb already launched towards the direction at where the farm was at, but according to its velocity, Sasuke and others would not have enough time to escape.
"Damn!" Fayre cursed in front of everyone. Normally, Koguro and his wife would have scolded him for cursing in front of Ran and Conan, but in this situation, all they could think about how they would gladly sacrifice their life along with the farm. 'What should we do? There's no way we can save them? Not only them, we'll be caught in the blast. If there's a way to save them, I'll gladly sacrifice my life to protect them. Tch, looks like I won't be able to avenge you, nii-san.'
"Sorry." Fayre derailed his thought when he heard Ian's voice. He looked him with his confusion face in response. "I'm sorry." That was all response he could get from his best friend.
All of the sudden, much to Fayre's surprise, Ian weaved through his hand signs and placed his hand on the Sharingan user's chest. "Imprisonment Jutsu!" Immediately following by it, he was shrouded into the blue sphere.
"Imprisonment?!" Fayre stared in shock at the blue sphere where he was being trapped into, and then looked up at his best friend in dismay. That was Ian's kekkei genkai! He quickly slammed his fists on the sphere repeatedly, but it wouldn't budge at all. "What do you think you're doing?!"
"With your friends' refusal to obey your instruction, I was given no choice but to use it on you." Ian said with a sad smile. "This jutsu is only designed to hold two separate people and send them out to the prison. There's four of them, so I can only cast it on two of them. But I don't want them to become upset greatly. And I cannot cast upon myself, because it only works on other people other than myself. You're only one here in this area, and I do not wish to see you die, not at least until you learn the truth first."
Fayre raised his eyebrows when Ian mentioned 'truth'. "What's the truth?!" Fayre demanded an answer from him.
But Ian dodged the question and continued speaking. "Don't worry. This imprisonment is also designed to withhold any strong attacks even against the biju bomb. You'll survive. But me, not so much…" Ian finished with the chuckle, as he slowly closed his eyes, embracing the flashback he had time with Fayre and their other teammate, and their sensei.
"What're you talking about?! You're not going to die! You're coming back with me...alive!" Fayre frantically slammed his fists on the sphere repeatedly, hoping that it would crack a bit of it, but it still wouldn't budge no matter what. He did not want to let another precious person he had die again. First, his parents. Then, it was his sensei and another teammate. Then, it was his brother. Now, Ian?!
But at this moment, it was too late. The biju bomb was closing onto them. All Ian could do was to smile at him, and the farmers cuddled together, waiting for their final moments here.
"Dammit! Isn't there another way you can escape?!" yelled Fayre in an alarming tone. His Sharingan eyes immediately activated again, thanks to his unstable emotions. "IAAAN!"
Ian chuckled, gently placing his hand on the sphere. "It can be only dispelled once I release it myself… or…" His tears slowly started to drop from his eyes. "…I die…"
Fayre placed his hand back on the sphere where Ian placed it on. "Don't you dare saying that! You're not going to die!" Fayre screeched. "YOU HEARD ME, IAAAN!?" His eyes started to fill with waters.
More of tears ran down Ian's cheeks, along with the full of waters that clouded his eyes. "I'm… so… sorry…Fa-" Finally, the biju bomb reached its destination, as it landed on the ground and expanded all the way to the farm, completely enveloping Ian, along with the farmers and the farm itself, leaving Fayre only intact.
"IAAAAAAAAAN!" Fayre cried, his eyes, at last, were overflowing with tears. He cried for the first time since his brother's death.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
Flashback Ended- Age 763, December 1- Forest of Death- Kakashi vs Fayre
Fayre's eyes opened, only to find himself laying on the branch. He then looked up and found Kakashi laying unconscious on the opposite branch. He just realized that it was all dream—no—more like flashback. 'I-Ian…' He clearly recalled that he failed to save the farmers, including his best friend, Ian.
With a painful moan, he placed his hands on the branch to make an attempt to push up, but failed to do so, as his body quickly collapsed due to overwhelming painful he had received from Kakashi's Raikiri. 'Dammit! To think I took some damage from him as well! Judge by the look of this, it appeared that Kakashi is dealing with the same pain I'm having right now!' He carefully rolled over on to his back, staring up at the sky that was surrounded by the forest.
Above him, the forest was glistening with moisture. It must be from the rain earlier. Of course, he knew it was not of mother nature. It was of someone who could make this rain to happen.
At this moment, he embraced the memory that all Ian and he had together. He wondered if he could make any difference if he could travel back in the time. That is, if there was such a time machine existed… or if there was a jutsu that would allow him to time travel. He would do it in a heartbeat, so that way he could have saved Obito from the potential darkness that drove him into. But not just Obito and Ian…
'Rin… Yondaime Hokage-sama… Kushina… Itachi… Uncle Fugaku… Aunt Mikoto… Uchiha… Ian… and…' Most important of them all, the same guy he killed few days ago… 'Nii-san…' Only if there was a way to save them… During his time on this planet, he had seen a lot of deaths here. Even after he left this planet, there's more deaths here. When he came back to this planet, it was like he purged the planet just to do Coola's bid.
Fayre clenched his fist, shaking his head in frustration. 'No! I'm not letting Coola do that! But the problem is…' He noticed the slight movement in Kakashi. He realized that his opponent started to regain consciousness. 'My hatred…'
Fayre slowly rolled around to his stomach, while keeping eyes on Kakashi, who recently opened eyes. 'My hatred… is still there. As long as I look at him, my hatred still lingers in me. In order to…'
He found himself against the tree bark, as he struggled to climb up, but he was getting hang of it slowly there. 'In order to… erase the existence of my hatred…' He managed to get up on his feet with the support of the tree bark, as he turned his back against the bark, carefully analyzing Kakashi whom struggled to get up as well. '…I must discover that truth from him! Everything I need to hear from him… Every detail of the story! Then perhaps… I will finally see the truth with my unbiased eyes this time!'
He could hear the moan in the pain from Kakashi, who managed to get up to his feet… also with the help of the tree bark. 'That way…' He gritted his teeth in anticipation, carefully analyzing Kakashi's next move. 'That way… we both can take Coola down together without having you as my obsession!'
Kakashi took a time to gather himself an oxygen and plus, a full consciousness. He then stared at Fayre and muttered under his breathe. "Fayre…"
"Heh…" Fayre chuckled, his lips gave out another smug smirk. "Our warm-up is over now. The real fight between us will start…" He placed his fingers between his teeth. "…RIGHT NOW!" Just then, he whistled between his teeth, somehow suddenly causing the ground to shake.
Kakashi was startled by the sudden little earthquake here in the Forest of Death. It was almost as if the entire Forest of Death was shaking! He looked at his opponent in disbelief. "W-What did you do?!"
"Heh…" Fayre expressed an evil grin towards Kakashi. "I learned this technique when I was traveling through the outer space with Coola and his men. I've been there to many different planets, purging most of them. One day, I'd learn this technique, so I practiced it and be able to use it efficiently!"
Kakashi widened his eyes. "What is this technique?!" He never had seen a technique like that before.
"Heh, watch and learn!" suggested Fayre, looking at the direction where it all began from there.
Kakashi followed his gaze and his eyes widened open. There was a massive dust coming towards them. But what could they be?
"I told you earlier… It's going to be real fight from on here, remember?" Fayre said, watching the massive dust drawing close onto them. "In other words, it's going to be the fight that we never had done that before! It's the battle between life or death, that's for sure!"
Watching closely, that moment when Kakashi realized that there was a stampede coming towards them. However, all these animals looked very, very hungry. He then realized that no one fed them for a while now. When was the last time that they were well fed? One month? That should be last time they fed them. As soon as they discovered that there were aliens that was invading Element, they stopped feeding them.
In other words, these animals were ready to eat anything they see. So they really wanted to eat both Fayre and Kakashi.
"Not only that we both have to worry about each other…" Fayre looked down at very hungry animals, who recently arrived in this area. "We have to worry about them, too." He looked at Kakashi again. "Basically, if you fall there, they will attack you and try to eat you immediately. If you don't get out of there immediately, you will be their meal in no time. That will be the same for me as well."
Kakashi shot his glare at Fayre. "You're really seriously about killing me, Fayre, aren't you?"
Fayre's lips arched into a dark grin. "As should you, Kakashi."
Television Room, Check-In Station- With Minato, Kushina, and Rin
Rin switched the channel to this channel recently, so they could check what Fayre was doing, but it turned out that Fayre and Kakashi fought each other. When they flipped the channel over to this channel, Fayre and Kakashi were already knocked out cold. Now they were awake and it appeared that they were ready to fight each other to death. But animals surrounded them were really hungry. The second both men touched the ground, they would be ready to chow on them.
That's what had gotten Rin to worry about them. 'Fayre-san…' She could only wish that they could put their personal issue aside and focus on stopping Coola and his men. That was the biggest issue they should focus on.
"I don't get it." Kushina said with very puzzled look on her face. "Why would he go after Kakashi even after finding out that Obito was still alive? Obviously, that would mean he knows that Kakashi never killed him."
Minato stared at his wife for a moment before looking back at the television screen. "That's a good question. There must be something on his mind, after all. What are you planning, Fayre?"
Only the problem was that Fayre still thought Obito was dead for sure. They could not imagine what his reaction would be like when Obito was with mysterious person and the other Sakura right now.
Konohagakure- Rock Lee vs No One (Hana)
Hana smirked. Prior to this fight against Rock Lee, she loved every moment of it as Takeo. They believed No one to be Takeo, who was actually a wimp person. Given the memory he had from Takeo, that kid originally was going to be a ninja, but once he realized how dangerous the world was. Instead of just quitting being a ninja straight up, he decided to take the genin exam and abruptly threw it away by performing poorly, which cost his own teammates' future ninja career. Also from his memory, his own teammates never go back to academy. Instead, they switched their career.
So that's why Takeo was perfect for No One to inhabit the body and pretend to be him. With his history, it was able to act well and deceive them by just being Takeo. Not only that she deceived them, she also used Riley in order to have him overuse the sword, so she could gather all powers quickly.
Now she had them all. She would be unbeatable. She was literally stronger in this area right now. No way someone like Rock Lee could win over her.
She watched Lee, as he put his hand behind his back and his other hand up, apparently in the fighting stance right now.
She scoffed the moment he set his stance. 'What kind of stance is that? He only leaves himself completely open. I will show him mine.'
She just simply raised her fists in front of her face, similar to boxers' stance with the smug smirk on her face. This stance was one of reason why she was the best hand-to-hand fighter on her planet. She won many tournaments because of it before she became No One.
She could not help but to notice all her opponents' facial expression. They showed a bit of confused looks. 'You may think it's amateur stance, but it's not. It's the best stance to use, especially both offensive and defensive. It's well balanced stance. I can attack and I can defend at will. For example…'
She took one or two steps before his body vanished off the trace completely, leaving everyone shocked.
"She disappeared!" cried Inoichi. He looked around frantically. "Where did she go?!" What if she targeted one of them other than Rock Lee himself? That's when he had to be extremely cautious. He would not let himself be unguarded. Tenten, Shikaku, and Anko would not leave themselves unguarded as well.
"How can she be so fast?! I can't see her anymore!" panicked Tenten.
"Calm down, guys." Shikaku reassured her. "She did not disappear because of her speed. She disappeared because of her technique. Earlier, she used a stealth technique on us and tried to kill Anko. Remember?"
Tenten never looked back to Shikaku, but she listened on to him while staying on guard for the stealth user. This time, there was no trap around her, so she could not afford to screw it up. She then nodded. "I remember. But she can be anywhere."
"Don't worry. I will detect her if she ever comes any closer to us." Anko said, scanning the area. "No one will sneak behind the snake and gets away with it!"
Shikaku nodded but he already locked himself into his thought. 'The problem is, Lee isn't near us. Anko won't be able to detect any stealth users. The enemy is very skilled at sneaking around without being heard. She must have a good footwork.'
Rock Lee carefully scanned the area around him. Unfortunately, because of his inability to use ninjutsu, no way he could sense his enemies' chakra everywhere! All he could do was to follow his instinct.
But how?
He knew he was completely defenseless. There was no way he could defend himself against someone who could turn himself into an invisible. With the combination of her technique and her ability to sneak around without being detected, it would be very challenge for him to figure it out.
Before he could add any more to his thought, a hand slapped him hard in the face, leaving a big mark on his cheek. But once that connected, Hana popped up right by him before Lee was knocked away. His body skipped across the ground few times before he braked his feet and skid his feet few meters away from her. He could see that she was already grinning ear to ear and her eyes glinted with a maniac.
Rock Lee groaned in the pain when he felt his cheek stung. It was almost as if his cheek was burned right now. 'She slapped me hard.' He rubbed his cheek, trying to soothe the pain there. Obviously, there would be red mark on her cheek for a while. It's going to sting for a while.
"How do you like that?" Hana cackled loudly. "That was the woman's slap just now!"
Rock Lee grimaced. He just learned that she wanted to toy around with him for a while. She was crazy, that's for sure. But it'd be hard to fight her since she could sneak around while in invisible mode. Well, he could count on Shikaku to discover a strategy a way to beat her. In the meantime, he was going to buy Shikaku some time as possible as he can.
"Lee…" Tenten began to worry about Lee, knowing that it would be tough for him to fight an opponent who could turn into an invisible at will. Not only that he was going to be killed, but they all would be killed. She had no idea how to fight someone like that No One! If a person could turn invisible while making sure that she would not make a noise sneaking around, then she did not know how to beat her.
She then noticed Hana eyeing her with the lip licking around her lips. That caused her to feel uncomfortable and started backing off. 'What's with her? She's creepy." She remembered No One did want her body after all. She would rather be killed by someone else than be killed by this crazy person.
Shikaku's calculated eyes focused on No One, as he began to study her very carefully. 'Show me your strength and your weakness!' If he could find her weakness, even one, then that would be great. Once he did that, he would began forming a strategy. All he needed is one weakness.
Hana looked back at Rock Lee who still found his cheek too painful. She then smirked. "Let's play the game!" With that said, she slowly faded back into an invisible.
Rock Lee immediately set back into his stance. Of course, he could not detect her anywhere. There was no trace of her anywhere. How was he supposed to fight her like that?!
He found himself a fist onto his face, which caused his nose to bleed, as he shut his one-eye down. He looked up, only to find Hana being visible once again in front of him. She grinned with the maniac glint in her eyes again.
"It hurts, does it? I punch harder than the brick! But that punch just now is not even at my full strength." Hana said. "When I said I am stronger than that Riley whom you fought, it was not a lie. It was the truth. And I don't need to rely on that childish sword. I win with my marital arts alone! Next one is going to hurt as hell, I promise!"
Hana delivered her promise by giving Lee a hard fist into her stomach, doubled her up, as the blood spewed out of his mouth.
"Argh!" Lee yelled. It was too much even for him! It was almost as if it asked him to throw up. That pain she just gave him was not like the pain he used to. In fact, if any more of hits coming his way like that, he would die for sure. He would have to make sure he would not let them hitting him anymore.
"Lee!" cried Tenten. At this moment, she felt as useless as he is now. There was nothing she could do but to wait for Shikaku's next strategy. She had a bad feeling about this. From what she was seeing, in this situation, it did not look good for Lee!
"I kept my promise, didn't I?! I raised my power level up a little for that punch… just to set an example how fearsome I am!" Hana smirked, certainly enjoying the suffer that she caused to her opponent. She immediately roundhouse kicked Lee right in the face, knocking him away. "You should be prepared. Because if I decided to raise my power level all the way to my full strength, none of you would survive."
There was a silence moment for a while.
She looked at every and each face of her opponents. There was the look of hopeless expressions on their face, except Lee. Lee rather looked determination. She certainly enjoyed this.
"Now do you understand? I may not be as strong as you guys. But at least I know the most effective way to kill you guys. All I need to spot your vitals and destroy them, then you would be dead. After all, Ki triumphs the chakra. Ki can pierce any fragile body." She laughed before she, once again, faded away. "Let's resume the game!"
Forest of Death- Kakashi vs Fayre
Herd of animals lurked around very deep in the forest below the huge tree, drooling at certain men on the branch. They were starved for the food, and there were foods right before their eyes. They had not eaten foods for days, since Konoha-nin stopped feeding them the moment they realized new threat loomed onto them. There was nothing they could do but to wait for these either ninjas to fall. Once they do, they would charge at either of them immediately.
Fayre and Kakashi had a stare down battle between them. They already calculated their plans further. Anything included the moment they might fall, so they would need to figure out how to escape them.
Kakashi diverted his eyes down at the herd of hungry animals. 'He left me no choice but to go all-out. I don't have time to stall time any longer. I have to go back there and help the Konoha.'
"YOU LET YOUR GUARD DOWN!" Fayre yelled. Kakashi snapped out of his thought and looked up, only to have the fist slammed onto his face and caused him to fall off the branch down towards the ground.
At this moment, Kakashi just realized he was heading towards the herd of very hungry animals, who were ready to jump on him and tear his skins off at any times. "Oh, shit!"
"HAHA!" Fayre laughed. "There's nothing you can do! There's no defying the gravity in the law of physics!"
As soon as Kakashi landed on his back, pack of animals would jump on him and started chowing off his skins. They were piling on them. They would have eaten off him more, had it not for the puff of smoke that scared them away. It turned out to be the log that animals were attempting to eat.
"What?!" Fayre was caught by a surprise, but with the follow through, he would calm down and thought it thoroughly. 'But of course! I should expect him to perform that jutsu. That's why he's one of top jounins in the Konoha. He wouldn't die that easily. It's not like I care if he's going to die or not anyways.'
Somehow, Fayre felt something that breezed through his back. 'Right behind me!' He glanced over his shoulder. But once he took a good look at what Kakashi was doing, he then noticed that his opponent already had the kunai in his hand close to his neck and aimed to kill him right now on this spot.
At this moment, he realized he would not have a time to dodge this, nor even block an attack. If he was not going to do something about it, he was going to die! At this moment, his brain calculated every next move what would happen. Every move he calculated would seem to fail. All but one. One move that might risk his precious eye, but if he wanted to live, he would have to do it.
Thanks to his quick reflexes, he quickly grabbed the kunai from his pouch and raised it upward to parry his opponent's kunai. It was not a perfect parry. His kunai connected on other kunai, but it was little lower of his opponent's kunai, which led it to bring up across his right eye.
The kunai originally had gone for the neck and would have slit his throat if Fayre did not make this move. Instead, the kunai sliced up across his right eye.
"ARGH!" Fayre screamed, quickly clasping his right eye in the pain. His right hand was soaked with a blood that leaked from the eye. However the painful it may be, he was grateful that he lived to see more time because of his quickly calculated move. But at the same time, he was angry that he was forced to choose this move, and as a result, his precious Sharingan eye was damaged. He still had another Sharingan eye.
He could still fix this, but still…
He shot up a glare with his intact eye towards Kakashi. "Damn you!"
Kakashi held his kunai up in case of retaliation. His stoic eyes stared at the furious Uchiha missing-nin. "That foolish act of yours nearly cost your life. A ninja must see underneath the underneath. Have someone taught you that?"
Fayre smirked. "You're good. I will give you that. I did not notice that you performed the Kawarimi no Jutsu. Maybe I was just talking too much and you found an opportunity to use it?"
He received no response from his former rival, who simply gave him his stoic eyes.
"Fortunately…" When Fayre removed his hand off his right eye, it looked very ugly. It looked like it severed his right eye badly. It nearly opened in half. If it had gone any more deep, he would have gone blind on one eye permanently. He grabbed something from the pouch and opened the cap off its container. "I had a feeling something's going to happen to my eye, so I made this specifically only for myself."
Kakashi eyed the container that Fayre held in his hand right now. 'Ointment, huh? Is it a super healing ointment?' He was aware of Fayre's background. Uchiha Fayre was going to be scientist if the attack of the Kyuubi never happened, or rather, if Coola never abducted him.
The former Konoha-nin grabbed a small sample of the ointment and then rubbed on his entire right eye. After he was done with his right eye, he would put the cap back on the container and put it back in his pouch. By the time it was put back in his pouch, it would reveal that his right eye already fully healed, almost as if it never damaged his eye.
"I know a little bit of healing myself. In fact, I extracted healing chakra from the medic-nin's corpse and applied it to this ointment. Without the healing chakra, it would never restore my eye back." Fayre then smirked. "I am so grateful for it."
'Only if it existed back in the day…' Kakashi recalled the day that his left eye was damaged trying to rescue Rin during the war. His left eye would have been healed instantly like this guy did.
But that did not matter anyways. More importantly, he would have to find a way to stop him. From what he had seen from Fayre, he would not stop until he achieved his goal, and the goal would be to kill him.
But there's something off about Fayre lately. It was something that had been bugged him something about Fayre for a while now.
"Anyways…" Fayre pointed his finger at the half-masked shinobi. "Speaking of so-called 'underneath the underneath', should that be applied to you also?"
Kakashi raised his eyebrows in question. "Huh?" All of the sudden, the shadow figure clouded over his head, causing the silver-haired shinobi to freeze for a moment before he turned around, only to find another Fayre who wielded a dual sword. His eyes widened. "What?!"
The second Fayre laughed with a large killing intent in his eyes. "DIE!" His dual swords were brought down towards Kakashi.
There was almost as if the world stopped time from Kakashi's point of view. There was a moment that he realized it might be too late. What could he do? He could not move on his own, even if he wanted to!
The hitai-ate flew away, as the blood spilled all over the place…
Konohagakure- Rock Lee vs No One (Hana)
It just took the air out of Lee's mouth, as he bent down, and a handful of saliva came off his mouth. There was a fist that just came visible that already connected right to his guts. There was a wicked grin on the face of Hana.
He could not fight back nor even defend himself as long as his opponent continued to turn invisible and gave him a beat up. As battered and bruised as he already was, there was nothing his teammates could do about it. In fact, he never had a chance to fight back because she would not give him any time. She beat him up endlessly. Only time he would even get a break was when Hana would turn invisible again.
A fist swung and slammed on the left cheek, sending the taijutsu combatant sprawling sideways across the ground. By the time Lee picked himself up, he was ambushed with the knee to his back. After he was currently distorted, she jumped and spun over his head, as she delivered a roundhouse kick on his face, knocking him away against the tree trunk.
"Argh!" Lee screamed before he slid down into the seating position. His distortion started to become clear, but there was so much damage on his body enough that he might not be able to move anymore. He looked up, only to find that there was no Hana in front of him anymore.
'She disappeared again!' Lee realized. That would mean she turned invisible and was about to attack him again. Acting quickly, he stood up and tried to move away, but only to have the gut punching once again, backing him against the tree. He groaned, as he hunched over again. 'How can I defend myself against her?'
There was no escaping. She had cornered him right now. She was going to do it over and over again until she would become bored. Once she became bored, she planned to kill him and take his form. But something about that hideous outfit of his would need to be fixed after she completed her mission, but she really loved that taijutsu combat. She would love to have that ability.
Just when Lee was about to recover, she sent him right back to disorientation state with the right hook to his face, knocking him aside to the ground. That hook fist also caused the blood to shoot out of his mouth. She mounted on his body and raised her fist, going for another strike.
That prompted Tenten to scream. "LEE!" She couldn't wait any longer. She was not going to watch and let this woman to beat Rock Lee anymore! This was her chance to ambush her while No One was already too focused on Lee right now.
She quickly unrolled the scroll and summoned a weapon of her choice… a mace! Once the mace was in her possession, she immediately charged towards Hana whom did not notice her presence at this moment. All Hana did do was to lock into her focus on battered and bruised Lee.
"Wait, Tenten!" Inoichi cried. But her cries fell on deaf ear, as Tenten continued running towards her target. "Damn!"
Before Anko could make her move to stop Tenten, Shikaku cried, "Wait, Anko!"
She froze, as she looked back at him with the confusion on her face. "But Tenten is going to put herself in the danger!"
Shikaku nodded in a bit agreement. "I know. But I may already figure No One out. There may be way to counter her "invisible ambush" strategy."
Inoichi looked down at him from the behind. "You already figured it out?"
"Yeah." Shikaku responded, watching the fight unfolded before his eyes. "Once she disappears and then reappear again, count how long she remain to be seen until she can use invisible again."
With the fist raised above her head, Hana grinned wickedly, "If you worry too much about your face, then rest assured, I am going to kill you after I'm finished toying around with your face. Surely, they will fix your face in an afterlife, right?"
The green spandex wearer Chuunin now realized that he was in defenseless, and there was nothing he could do to defend himself. After all, his arms were pinned down by No One's knees. He couldn't get her off him if he wanted to, considering the fact she was too strong for him. But for the sake of Konoha and Element, he needed to figure out quickly.
"LEE!" yelled the voice somewhere.
Hana was perplexed by the voice out of nowhere. "What?!" Just right as she turned her head around, with the mighty force of powerful mace that swung across her face, knocking her away through the pile of the fragments of destroyed building, as they scattered away.
She cleared several of rubbles on top of her, as she stood up and looked up, but not before her eyes widened in reaction to thousand of kunais flying towards her.
In her panic, she quickly waved her hand around, firing a single Ki wave, wiping every single kunais in the air before any of them could even touch or get past her, causing a small explosion in the sky.
"Who are you?!" Hana angrily demanded an answer from her newly opponent. Whoever was attacking her right now, she couldn't believe she completely forget about others. She was going to scold herself for letting her guard down after the mission.
All of the sudden, she felt something that crept behind her almost as if the cold crawled up her spine, which caused her to widen her eyes in shock. She was frozen and stiffened in place, as she slowly turned her head around, only to find Tenten wielding the large metal sphere with kunai welded onto it.
Her eyes widened. "Shit!" But at this moment, she quickly turned around to face it.
"Eat this!" Tenten yelled, as the large metal sphere slammed onto No One's entire body.
However, Hana was able to stop it with her whole body. "Heh, you fool! Did you think you could kill me with this piece of cake?! It may hurt me a bit." Indeed, it did hurt her, as evidence by the cut wound on her right cheek, right shoulder, stomach, and left leg. "But I have experienced encountering something like this before!"
Tenten started to laugh.
"Huh?" Hana looked at her with little annoyance. "What's so funny?!"
Tenten grinned, almost as if she was assured in her victory against an enemy. "Look again!"
Hana was confused a bit at first, but then she realized something was amiss, so she looked up at the large sphere again. Her eyes widened once she found the exploding tag right on the surface of the sphere. And it already started to burn up.
"Oh, sh—" Before Hana had a chance to finish the sentence, the sphere exploded along with her, in which her scream could be heard across the battlefield.
BOOM!
The dust kicked up and covered the whole area where Hana was at. Tenten leapt back, and all she could do was to wait for the dust to clear away. Her only hope was that Hana would be found dead right there. That should allow them to switch their focus on another enemy, should No One died.
"Tenten…" That was all Lee could mutter. He should be grateful that she saved his life, but for some reason, he felt something was not right. He definitely felt that something terrible was going to happen at this moment. He felt that he would need to warn Tenten about it.
He groaned, as he slowly turned onto his front body, struggling to find himself even on his knees. "Tenten…" To think he would have a hard time to get on his knees, considering the fact that he took too much damage from Hana herself. "Get away…"
However, it fell on deaf ears. Tenten was too busy gawking at the dust that surrounded the area, in hoping that No One died already.
Not just Rock Lee, Shikaku knew something was wrong, and he even yelled for her to get away, but she did not hear him. Only Inochi and Anko could do was to watch as the event was about to unfold. They, too, wanted to know if No One died as well, but even they had the doubt about it.
The dust was about to clear. As all eyes turned to the dust, once it became clear, there was no one home over there! That would mean Hana was still alive.
Tenten gritted her teeth in frustration. "I figured it wouldn't be this easy." But since there was no Hana to be found, it would mean she turned invisible again. She started looking around, but at this moment, she already placed flash paper bombs around her, so that way Hana would not be able to do anything to her. Or at least that's what she thought.
"GET AWAY, TENTEN!" cried Rock Lee, which finally caught her ears.
In her reaction to Lee's warning, she knew something was not right either. Flash bombs probably wouldn't protect her, so she started to step back…
But it was too late… flash bombs flashed.
Tenten gasped all of the sudden. She felt something pushed into her chest, and somehow it started to bleed from her chest and her mouth. How? She had no idea, but her question would be answered once Hana became visible and there was sword already plunged through her chest.
That moment she knew she's already screwed up. Her face paled. This was it. She was going to die. No one could save her like that, not especially after the sword was right through her chest.
"TENTEN!" cried Rock Lee, trying to run to Tenten, but his legs would not buckle in no matter how hard he tried.
"Heh…" Hana chuckled, taking a pleasant of killing Tenten. "Your trick won't work on me twice. I won't be blinded by your little trap again."
Tenten's eyes started to blur slowly. That indicated that she was going to die. Her body would soon become a numb. Before her eyes could black out, she looked up at Hana's face, and it turned out that Hana's eyes were closed.
'She knew?!' That was Tenten's final thought before her eyes were engulfed into the darkness. Her body became lifeless, as Hana took notice of it.
Hana smirked before removing her sword off Tenten's chest, as the lifeless body fell to the ground. Not long before she took a good look at her enemies.
Rock Lee looked like he had seen ghost or something. Anko looked like she had huge grudge against her. Inoichi gritted his teeth what might look like a sorrow or a regret. Shikaku was filled with the regret as well.
Oh, how Hana might enjoy the reaction of all people in this battlefield. They all looked defenseless at this moment, because the fact that their precious comrade died right in front of their eyes. "Aha, I wonder how you will respond to this? I can't wait to see all of your reaction!"
"Watch as I transform before your lively eyes!" Hana laughed, licking the blood on her sword, whose belonged to Tenten's.
They knew what was coming, and that's what happened. No One transformed into Tenten right before their eyes! In the appearance of Tenten, she uncharacteristically showed off her evil smirk and glanced at them almost as if they were all useless and worthless life forms to her.
"How do you like it? How sexy do you find my newly form?" Tenten chuckled, posing up to be sexy. But none of them were attracted to her right now.
Tenten frowned. "Oh, is it too tomboyish for you?" She then shrugged. "Hey, I like tomboy girls. But don't mind me. I suppose we all have our preference."
"Anyways," Tenten raised her bloody sword and pointed towards the group, setting her serous tone. "I'm done with playing with y'all."
Shikaku's face paled quicker than Orochimaru's white face. "What?!" He gritted his teeth with the panic look on his face. "Shit! I'd expect him to play around with Lee for a little longer, so I can start forming the strategy! But still, I guess I have to form the strategy sooner than I thought.
'She only has 30 seconds interval between her invisible times. She can stay invisible as long as she likes to, but once she touches something or someone, her invisible form stopped working and she will become visible again. However, she could not use invisible technique for 30 seconds once she turned back visible. We only have 30 seconds to counter her invisible technique, so we can finish her off afterward.' Shikaku thought, as she looked at Inoichi and Anko. 'I hope you figure out how long until she can go back to being invisible again.'
Tenten turned her smile into even darker and her eyes started to fill with maniac again. "Bingo! You're right! 'What' is the correct term! I am going to kill all of you and complete my mission. After seeing what that bitch had done to me, I had concluded that you all are very dangerous and must be disposed of immediately."
"I wonder which one of you…" Tenten giggled before slowly disappearing into nowhere. "…I am going to kill next?"
Anko immediately released multi-snakes out of her sleeves for the defense. Inoichi pulled up his kunai and kept it in front of his face to protect himself. Shikaku stood firmly and started looking around himself, just to be on defense.
Rock Lee still stayed on his knees, as he continued to be shell-shocked. 'Gai-sensei… Neji… and now Tenten…?' He began to think that he had let all of his comrades down. He was unable to protect his precious comrade once again. He could not protect Tenten at all. 'What am I going to do, Gai-sensei? What should I do?'
"Eeny… meeny… miny…moe…" Tenten echoed through the battlefield, which left Inoichi baffled.
"What the hell is she doing?" wondered Inoichi.
"Eeny…meeny…miny…moe…"
"She's counting which one of us to kill first!" replied Shikaku. "Watch out for the invisible! She could be right there by you right now! Just be on your guard!"
"Eeny…meeny…miny…moe…"
"Dammit! Where is she?!" Anko glanced around, but she could not even detect Tenten anywhere. Did that mean Tenten was nowhere near her? Then that means Tenten would be right by Shikaku, Inoichi or Lee. She then noticed that Lee was not in the right state to fight at the moment, considering that he just lost Tenten. "Shit!"
"Eeny…meeny…miny…moe…"
"And… YOU ARE IT!" The voice echoed for the final time before it silenced, and nothing could be heard again afterward.
That moment when the group besides Lee realized that Tenten made her next move, so they all immediately went into defensive stance to ensure that she would not kill one of them, even though it may not be possible.
The question is… who is 'it'? Who did Tenten target this time?
Forest of Death- Kakashi vs Fayre
Even with little time Kakashi had at the moment, he managed to weave through the signs rather quickly before forcing his right hand down, emitting lightning around his hand. Just as the nuke-nin Uchiha shoved his sword down into his shoulder very deep, the half-masked shinobi also shoved his chidori through his counterpart's chest.
The sword inside the shoulder pushed further, which led it deep into his chest, ended up wounding it more. So much blood that leaked out of Kakashi's shoulder, which also caused him to feel dizziness. Not just Kakashi who experienced this pain right now, it was the chidori that just shoved up through Fayre's chest, which formed the hole in the chest, and it was bleeding too much.
Both were dying… probably.
However, Fayre started to laugh hysterically. "Hahaha!" Despite suffering so much pain, he looked up at the hysterical Fayre very puzzled. "I WON!" Right after he said that, another sword shoved up through his chest from the behind into Kakashi's chest dead-on.
Kakashi cursed himself for allowing that to happen to him. "Blood clone?!"
It was the forbidden jutsu where they can duplicate a clone that matched everything a real person had, such as cells, bloods, chakras, and etc. Only the difference is that blood clones are more weaker than the real person. Even when they're dead, they stay dead. No puff of smokes or any types of aftermath once the clones died. That's how they believed the corpse to be Fayre himself almost 15 years ago, simply because bloods matched.
"So long, sucker!" Fayre gloated. At last, he got his revenge. He got what he wanted and that was killing Kakashi! He completed his goal. He already avenged his brother. His long lifetime goal was finally completed. It took nearly 18 years for him to finally kill Kakashi without any interference.
He pulled his sword out of the chest, but not before he pushed Kakashi down to the ground with his foot. "Enjoy being their meat."
All animals looked at Kakashi the moment he hit the ground with a hard thud. The herd of animals rushed towards him with their mouth drooling. They were hunger for their first meal in such a long time. Their mouths were widen open, almost as if they were ready to eat this corpse. Their mouths were about to grab Kakashi's body part…
"That's enough!" The voice commanded.
Sharingan eyes spun around, as it dissolved, turning back to normal dark eyes. His lips turned into a little smirk. "It took you long enough to figure it out, Kakashi." His eyes turned to the gravestone before him, as the name labeled "Obito".
"A genjutsu behind the genjutsu…" Kakashi muttered, before he turned to the gravestone. Frowning as soon as he saw his late friend's name that craved on the memorial stone. "You pulled this off, and I actually believed it for a while, Fayre. To think I'd be fooled by the genjutsu, even for me."
"Of course." Fayre scoffed. "If I didn't put the layer of genjutsu after the genjutsu, you would have detected it easily. So I doubled it up and made you believe that."
They stood side by side, but their moments were filled by the silence for a while until Kakashi broke the silence.
"You didn't come here to kill me." Kakashi stared at Fayre in a questionable look. He still would not trust Fayre. After all, this guy was working under Coola for 15 years. "What do you want?"
Fayre frowned. "On my way here, I met someone. And he was the one who opened my eyes to the truth. About you. And my brother. That you did not kill him. You never killed him. That's why I didn't want to kill you. But…"
There was a pause. Kakashi watched him as he struggled to form the statement for the moment, but he waited for him to find what's needed to say here.
"Kakashi…" Fayre set his serious tone when he looked at his old rival. "I want to know the answer. Everything that led up to Obito's death, and what happened after his death… I want to know. All of them."
Kakashi narrowed his visible eye. He recalled last time he told the story to Fayre, he nearly got his head bitten off. Should he trust him? Fayre might explode out of anger again, just because he was being blinded by the hatred.
"Last time I was too blinded by the hatred. I did not listen to every single detail of the story you shared with me before." Fayre admitted. "But this time, I promise I'd listen to everything you shared. Every single detail you'd tell. I just want to listen to your story."
Kakashi considered it for a while, before he took a long sigh, as he took a step to the memorial stone and kneeled to take a good look at his late comrade's name. "During the third war…"
To be continued…
A/N: All right. That wraps up the chapter! I hope you enjoyed the chapter. Next chapter, I will finish No One vs Rock Lee and interaction between Fayre and Kakashi, so I can go back focusing on Sakura vs Paradox. After this chapter posted, I'm writing next chapter immediately.
See you next chapter!
