Chap.2
*Beep Beep*
Heidi is awoken by the sound of her alarm. The first thing she sees is her ceiling being cut in half by the sunlight coming in through her window. The same ceiling she has seen for the majority of her life.
She turns off her alarm and rises to get out of bed. She grabs all the nesscaties for her shower.
After her shower,she picks out her cloths for the day and proceeds to put them on. It's the same red beanie with the red flower near the base. She also grabs her basic olive green jacket. It was a little bit bigger on her then when she acquired it. This was due to the weight she gained when she was with Cartman. She mange to shed this through excersize and the reimplementing of her vegan diet. But to Heidi,the physcological effects
were never truly shed.
She went down stares to grab some breakfast. Her father already had gone to work at the family restaurant(I wrote this after the pandemic special,I can't rember if the restaurant was stated to be working condition before the pandemic,I'm just going to assume it was). Her mother was sipping on coffee as she watched the morning news.
"Hey mom" Heidi states
"Morning sweety" her mother states
Heidi proceeds to open the pantry and grab a box of cereal and a bowl and fill it with almond milk(vegan options out here...alright). She proceeds to eat. She just kind of eats out of instinct, not really tasting the cereal and just knows that she is aquiring the proper calories she needs.
After she finshs eating,she grabs her nesscary school items and head out the door.
"I love you Heidi" her mother states.
"I love you too"she reply's.
Heidis mother proceeds to follow her out of the doorway and watch walk down the street. is no fool and can see her daughters obvious loathing.
"Heidi,you know I mean that...don't you?"she states aloud.
"I know mom." She states and smiles back
Heidi proceeds to walking to the bus stop,her smile changing back to a frown. She holds her head low and observes the changes in the snow covered earth. She then catches a glimpse of the sun peaking over the mountains where she cringes her eyes.
She arrives at her local bus stop where she catches the view of three of her friends. One of them being a brunette wearing a long sleeved shirt. Another a blackett with a pink burette and a black haired girl with two pig tails.
"Hey,Heidi" all the girls state(not really in unison)
Heidi perks her head to aknowledge this.
"Hey guys"she reply's
She simply takes her spot and continues to look at the ground. The girls were talking about something else. Probably something about the newest young hunk in Hollywood.
While chuckling to some of her friends,Wendy catches Heidis mood in her parifral. She knew Heidi wasn't exactly proud of what she done to herself during her time with Cartman. And Wendy was also aware that she wasn't the most consoling friend. She had felt the Cartman idocy many times and didn't really put up with it like most of the other kids did. That's why she joined in on pointing out to Heidi why she made such a mistake when getting with Cartman. She now sees that she should have taken action like Kyle had.
Wendy gives Heidi a sad look. She thinks to speak to her but decides against it as she had mistakes of her own.
Eventually, the bus arrives at the stop. The four girls board the bus with Heidi taking a seat towards the back of the bus. She just sits there and begins to space out. All she can think about is how the world seemed to just punish her for ever considering that Cartman was a good person. The entire town considered him the devil. But in Heidis eyes, The boy that asked her out and the boy she broke up with are very different people. She doesn't miss the relationship itself. It made her feel and look awful. But it's the fact that she had tried so hard to no avail. Even with all her tenacity, she couldn't change the circumstance. She just felt so weak. So helpless to do anything. It's at the point to where she can't even tell if this is brought on by her own self loathing or if this is an after shock of dating Cartman that he has somehow implemented to torture her. If it was the latter,then it was surely working.
The bus eventually came to halt as it arrived at the school. The students began to exit the bus and enter the school. Heidi walked to her locker where she was met with some of her friends. She once agin felt distant mentally and just kind of in her own drab world.
"What do you think Heidi?" A curly haired blonde girl said
"What?"Heidi said with a confused look on her face
"What do you think of who we think is Kenny?"
Heidi was still confused. She knew of Kenny and by default looked for a boy in a orange parka. She then noticed Cartman and his three other friends. She obviously picked out Kyle by his green hat. And then Stan with his red puff ball beanie. Then she noticed another boy,with unkept blonde hair. He was indeed wearing a parka but his hood appeared to be down. She never had seen his full face features before. Let's just say she thought despite his impoverished upbringing,he wasn't a bad looking guy.
"Cute,huh"Bebe states as she gets close to Heidis ear.
"Ummmm...uuuu.."Heidi slightly blushing as she uttered these lines.
"Ya he's got that rustic,wild look" a girl with straight red hair said.
"Knowing him,he's probably enjoying this" Wendy states.
Heidi noticed the way Kenny was talking to Cartman. She slowly to turn her attention to grabbing her needs for class. She followed her friends to class and takes her seat.
As class begins, Heidis teacher named decides to reseat the class. Heidi just moves on instinct not really paying attention until she hears her name. She was just hoping that Eric Cartman wasn't any where near her. She didn't get seated by any of friends so she was just planning on interacting with people around her if she needed to.
As today's lessons started,Heidi just remains in her glum state. She's not really spacing out,rather,she's just numb. No true thoughts are going through her mind unlike a day dream. She starred at her desk noticing the etch marks made by students from years prior.
She wondered if students prior had been in the same state as she was in. But at the same time,none of them went out of thier way to deal with Eric Cartman. Her staring was soon cut off by a piece of paper that landed on her desk.
Her expression changed from melancholy to suprised as she proceeds to grab the paper and read it in her head
"Are you okay Heidi?"
She quickly looks to her left and sees Kenny looking at her with a concerned look. She was surprised to say the least. She thought if anybody would call her out on her mood,it would be her friends or maybe even Kyle. But it was Kenny of all people.
She grabs her pencil and begins to reply to his question.
"I'm fine Kenneth,It's something beyond you. Thanks for your concern though"
She really struggled to write the last part as she didn't have much space to write. She then put the piece of paper back on Kennys desk.
Kenny had look of confusion and concern on his face. There are a lot of things that are beyond him. Such as his immortality. He has no control over it but he makes do with what he's given. Kenny was also perplexed by the use of his proper name. Kenny decides to respond. He flips to the opposite side of Heidis response and erases his old response to make room from a new one.
"Alright. I know we have never really talked before but I'm here if you want to."
Kenny's places the note on Heidis desk.
The statement was true. Heidi had never really interacted with Kenny, even when she was with Cartman. She had only heard things from Cartman, Kyle, and some of her friends that had interacted acted with him. All she knew was that he impoverished and could be pervy. But she had also heard that he has a big heart. Heidi was now intrigued within her own mind. How could be one type of personality be associated with another? Within the same human being no less? Heidi settled on an idea. She decided that she would learn about this boy. It would be interesting to see someone like her interact with someone as fabled as Kenny. Also, It would make a good distraction from all the emotion she is going through right now.
"Thanks...Are you doing anything after school?"
"Damn, is my look having that effect already" Kenny thought to himself.
The reality was something else. Kenny was aware of that. Kenny responds
"Nothing at all. We can meet outside of class if you'd like? Once class lets out?"
"Alright that sounds good"
Kenny knew that she had something going on. He could only guess at this point. But he was pretty certain that it pertained to a certain fatass.
