Chap.6
Hey guys,hope you are doing well. I've recently noticed that I have written all these chapters in back to back order within a literal 24 hour time span of in-universe time. I'm going to be doing a little time skip of a few days to help move things along. I hope you all enjoy it. I'm gonna really try to balance out Kenny and Heidis relationship and Kenny's resurrection plot line within the next three to four chapters. If you see an imbalance,please let me know in the comments down below.
A few days had passed since the fateful meeting of Mysterion and Heidi Turner. Heidi started getting used to her classmate that sat to the left of her. They would sometimes indulge in casual conversation that didn't have anything to with class itself and would get called out for it. They would quickly devolve back to the conversation they were having.
"So your sister's name is Karen?" Heidi asked
"Ooo ya,she's in the second grade." Kenny replied
"Is she similar to you in personality?"
"Not really,she's a lot more introverted and prefers to be around people she knows. She was sheltered by my mom as she had few health issues when she was little. I guess I shelter her a little bit as well. Especially around my friends…"
Kenny had a slight smile when talking about his little sister and Heidi noticed this. She envied it as well. As an only child,she had thought about what it would be like to have a little brother or sister.
"I also have an older brother but we don't really talk much." Kenny said
"Why's that?" Heidi asked.
"We have differing schedules with him being in middle school and I working at city walk. We also seem to butt heads all the time. Normally pertaining to Karen(and sometimes porno). He thinks she should be thrown into a pool of people and let her swim on her own. I would rather let her do it at her own pace."
"Wow...u guys sound like parents arguing over the future of their child."
Kenny let that statement sink in real quick. That idea had crossed his idea before but hearing it come out of someone else's mouth kind of felt weird. His parents weren't the best, he knew that. But he did get to see their good sides compared to the rest of the town.
Kenny knew that he was misinterpreting what Heidi had said so he just shook it off and chuckled.
"Hahah...ya"
Kenny decided it was better to change the subject.
"What about you? Got any siblings?" Kenny asked
"Unfortunately not…I think my parents were content with just having me."
"Oooo well...I don't think the world could take on more Heidi Turners"
Heidi looked at him with a glare.
"Oooo...what's that suppose to mean?"heidi said in an annoyed tone.
"It just means if there was more of you,that we would all be doomed and consumed by veganism and whatever boy band you're into that week.''Kenny grinds at her in a slightly condescending way.
"Is that a fact."
Heidi looked away in a playfully,angry way(think sort of in a goofy,tsundere way).
"Well the world would probably be in a better place if there were more people like you."
Heidi looked back at Kenny with a smile.
"Now that's more like it." Heidi said in a winning tone.
"I said people like you,not you specifically"
Heidi looks at Kenny and scrunches her nose at him. Before they could continue their conversation,the teacher called the classes attention.
"Alright class,lunch is starting soon. So if you haven't finished your projects yet,I recommend you and your partner find time before they are due." said.
The class began to pack all their stuff and get ready for the bell to ring for lunch with the bell coming sooner than expected. As they packed,Heidi and Kenny indulge with more conversation. As they did,they walked towards the exit of class. Kenny was talking about the specifics of what he do if there was multiple copies of himself.
"Then I would hold a big bonfire and set up a tournament to determine who the strongest Kenny would be."
"Really? With all the extra hands? You're telling me that you wouldn't put towards something useful like solving world hunger."
"I mean they're me and I'm always hungry...so.."
"You're such a dork...I don't think the world doesn't need any more of those." Heid said
"Guess they don't."Kenny said with a smile
As they exited the class,Kenny and Heidi's respective friends were waiting for them.
"Alright I'll see you later Kenny."
"See you later chief."
Kenny walked away from Heidi and towards his friends.
"Aaa...I now see why you are maintaining your new look." Stan said
"Ooo ya...well I just like it now. Feels better to be more open,ya know?"
"Ya,openly gay."Cartman replied.
"Whatever,"Kenny replied.
Kenny looked toward Kyle and he had a stone faced expression.
He should have asked for his opinion on the situation. Kenny wasn't thinking of getting with Heidi or anything. And he never truly understood Kyle and Heidi's relationship. But if Kenny being around her bothered Kyle,then Kenny should at least address it with him.
The boys made their way to the lunch room and got ready to grab some food. Kenny with an envelope containing food stamps. Cartman with a lunch already packed but wanting to get more. After acquiring sustenance they sat at a table with Craig,Clyde,jimmy,token, and butters.
Only a few tables down,the girls were talking at Heidi's table we're going on about the newest discoveries into their horoscopes. Heidi wasn't really into the whole conversation. Sure,she thought that the astronomical signs were quaint. But she was just happy to see her friends and be a part of and aware of the conversation. She was smiling as she ate and was hearing everybody's thoughts on the issue when she made eye contact with Wendy.
"Heidi,you've been positive the last few days, what's changed? Is it part of your horoscope?" Wendy said with a cheerful attitude.
"I don't know. I've just been feeling better about myself recently."Heidi said
"Is it because of Kenny?" Bebe interjected with a slight conniving grin.
Heidi developed a slight blush on her cheeks.
"No...at least not in the way you think."
"Ooo come on,we see how you two interact in class."
Heidi began to look away from Bebe.
"Ya we talk but it's more on the casual level of just conversation. Nothing really flirty or romanticized" Heidi said with a certain shyness in her voice.
"Ooo come on it's Kenny McCormick. He's a good guy but we all know he's a gigantic flirt." Bebe said
"Well even if I did like him,which I don't,it would be too complicated." Heidi replied
"How so?" Wendy interjected
Heidi turned to look at Kenny's table.
"Well firstly Kyle.."Heidi said.
"I thought you two patched things?"wendy responded
"We did but I don't know what effect was left on his brain afterward. He could still have feelings towards. And Kenny is the kind of guy to take that into consideration if he were to have feelings for me,which I'm pretty sure he doesn't."
She looked at Bebe when she said that last part.
"Take that into consideration? Do you know the amount of times he's flirted with me and Wendy? The on and off girlfriends of Clyde and Stan,two of his 'friends'." Bebe responded.
"I've actually never spoken to Kenny outside of projects…so.."Wendy said.
"Well he's flirted with me plenty."Bebe retorted.
"That's because you are a flirt to Bebe." Red said
"Alright,you listen here you-
Before Bebe could derail the conversation,Wendy decided to continue with Heidis points of complications with Kenny.
"And what's the next point of conflict Heidi?"Wendy asked
"Well...he's also friends with Cartman…"
All the girls looked at her with a confused and somewhat serious look.
"You don't mean to say that-
" ! No. Of course not, I'm done with him and I'm never looking back. I'm glad I did what I did to end it with him."
All the girls blew a sigh of relief both mentally and physically.
"Then what's the problem?" Wendy said.
"If we were to act on feelings that we would hypothetically have,which we don't, and if Cartman still had feelings of his own,who knows what he might do to either of us. And if something were to happen to Kenny,I don't think I could forgive myself for that..."
The girls were silent for a few seconds.
"Ya your totally in to him."Red remarked
"I am not!" Heidi stated
The girls all chuckled at her reaction to this comment. Lunch came and went,with all the students heading towards their classroom or toward their locker rooms for stuff they may need in class. Heidi was fumbling through her locker when a thought popped into her head.
Kenny and Heidi never finished the project they were working on. They got too caught up with talking to each other. She would have to address with him once she got back to class
On her way to class she noticed the boy in the parka standing by his locker. She had a few minutes so she could go and talk to him about the project. She could also talk to him on the way to class. Either way it didn't sound like a bad idea in her head. She then noticed that he was talking with three of his friends. The idea in her head now seemed a bit more risky. But why would they care? If it was really a problem, She would just pull him aside and ask him about the project. She decided that the risks were worth the gains. She walked towards Kenny and his friends.
"All I'm saying is that we know Kyle's mom prefers role play. And spies have to play pretend to get what they want"Cartman said
"God dammit Cartman! My family aren't spies for some Jewish elite test syndicate trying to destroy America!" Kyle retorted in an annoyed way.
As this conversation continued,Heidi approached Kenny from behind and tapped him on the back.
Kenny turned to meet her in the eyes.
"Ooo hey Heidi."
"Hey Kenny,I was gonna follow up with you in class but I saw you on my way so I just thought that we could discuss it now."
"Okay sure. What about?" Kenny replied
While mid sentence,Cartman noticed Heidi's presence. Even worse for Heidi,her discussion was detracting Kenny from his.
"Okay guys,just think if his father really wanted to-WHat the Fuck are you doing?"
Kyle and Stan turned thier attention to Heidi and Kenny.
"Umm...just discussing some arrangements for mine and Kenny's project with him."Heidi replied with a certain shyness and almost submission. Kenny didnt like the way Heidi reacted to that.
"Okay well that's reserved for class time. If we wanted to see a whore work her magic we would go to Kyle's house now fuck off."
"I was just-
"No,even if Kenny was doing work,which he doesn't, he wouldn't waste the time it would take you talking to you. It actually is a detriment to his life and potential finances by even giving time to acknowledge your existence. Because at the end of the day that's all you do,isn't it Heidi? Just waste people's time with your existence." Cartman ended this with a closed mouth smile.
"Cartman!" Kenny said with anger
"I..I.."
Heidi didn't know what to say.
"Now if you don't mind,you can fuck off. Or do everyone a favor and instead of deleting your shitty social media that no one gives a fuck about,delete your fucking life"Cartman said with a more serious look on his face.
Kenny stepped up to Cartman.
"That's crossing the god damn line and you know that!"Kenny said with rage in his eyes.
Heidi looked towards the ground. She then ran past Kenny,Stan,Kyle, and Cartman.
"Heidi!" Kenny said
Kenny turned his attention back to Cartman. Kenny stared him down and Cartman starred right back. He then looks up to see where Heidi was running off to
Kenny pushes Cartman out of his way. Stan and Kyle move out of his way. Kenny then looks over his shoulder at Cartman.
"Your pathetic."Kenny says while shooting him a glare.
Cartman looks back at him while just shaking it off with an "uugghhh".
Kenny then proceeds to go after Heidi.
"Dude, I know there's a lot wrong with you but that was way to far man."Stan said.
"Ooo come on,sure I said it but I wasn't the only one thinking it. Isn't that right kahl?"
They both proceed to look at Kyle. Kyle gives a them a stern look.
"Whatever...let's just get to class."
Kyle begins to walk towards his class. Stan gives him a confused look and eventually following suit. Cartman follows to.
We cut back to Kenny trailing Heidi. Heidi cuts around a corner. Kenny amps up his speed to reach her.
Kenny turns the corner when he finds Heidi with her face buried in her knees.
"Heidi?"
Heidi unveiled her face from her knees. Tears going her cheeks.
"Listen,I hate him. And I don't ever want be around Cartman let alone with him ever agin. But it's not like that's something I want hear from someone when while I'm trying to heal from the last of his scars. Especially him. It's like whenever I seem to make head way and heal myself of the scars he left, Cartman just seems to just try and reopen them. And it makes it so hard. So hard not to give up on trying to heal,ya know?" Heidi said amongst the tears.
Kenny looked at her with a face of remorse. There was nothing he could really say to that. Heidi knew what she was feeling and knew how to deal with it. But that fat bastard wasn't making it easy. Regardless if that's directly or indirectly.
"I know your probably tired of seeing me like this and it having to do with Cartman but I..I..-
And before she could make up the words Kenny knelt down to her level and returned the suprise hug she had given him.
"Now it's time for you to listen...I know we haven't been friends for more than a few days but I do care. I care weather your alright. I care that he is causing you pain. I care that you should be recognized for the individual that you are. And to be honest,if you didn't care about me,that would be fine. Becaue seeing like this. And hearing you like this. It bothers me. I want to see the Heidi I've been getting to know over these past few days. The one that I laugh and smile with."
Heidi was stunned. She didn't know what to say. Kenny genuinely cared about her. Sure she had friends and family who did the same. But despite not having the longevity that they did,he did the same that they would do without a single question.
Kenny had broken apart the hug.
"Kenny…"Heidi said in a monotone voice.
"For every scar he tries to reopen,I'll be there to heal it. I'll be there."
He was now looking at Heidi in the eyes. He had a look that was both consoling and serious. Heidi now truly saw how much Kenny cared
"You promise...You have to promise.."Heidi said
Kenny grabbed her hands.
"I promise."
He then let go of her hands and stood up.
"Now I don't know about you,but I would prefer to not get harassed by a hall monitor for being late."Kenny said jokingly.
Heidi stood up and wiped her tears.
"Ooo ya..let's go."
After a quick trip to Kenny's locker to grab his stuff for class, they made it just in the nick of time before the bell to resume class. Kenny and Heidi entered and walked to their seats when Kenny caught something looking at him in his parferal.
Cartman was giving him a hard glare. And just as Cartman had done to him,Kenny returned it back.
Both had a fire in their eyes saying "I won't forgive you for this anytime soon."
" ! May you please return to your seat so I can return to class." Kenny's teacher said.
"Ooo sorry.." Kenny replied
He still caught Cartman's glare in his parferal. As the teacher began the lecture,Kenny began to think to himself. He looked at Cartman and thought
"What hell happened to you?"
Well folks that concludes chapter 6. This one took a little bit longer than the ones predating it as I really didn't have a concept before writing it. I just tried incorporating what these characters would do in canon with some of my own experiences with situations similar to these. I think I'm gonna write a concept for the next few chapters before writing them so that they can flow much more smoothly than this one did. Now,I can hear a lot of Cartman fans really getting upset as I did make him out to be pretty spiteful in this chapter. He is a spiteful character so I didn't think it was too off from his character. But don't you worry, he will get his chance at redemption. So just hang in there. I also noticed this is also the third time where I've had Heidi cry. She doesn't really do it in the show but I thought it would add to her distress(visually at least). Heidi won't be doing this for a while because I hate being repetitive. Also she'll have a certain boy in an orange parka to ensure that she is feeling better ;). Feel free to critique and review.
